"Really good gym, loads of equipment and space"
I’ve used pure gym for several years with the higher paying membership for multi gym access and my partner to use occasionally, but the main reason I used them is mostly due to the location. However, they have recently increased the price for Leeds south, for no good reason, which lead me to reviewing my experience. Currently the equipment is in shoddy state, for example several running machines post higher speeds that they are actually running at, which I verified this with my garmin. Not that I needed to because if you’re at 20km and not close to i clear the machine is incorrect. I pointed this out to a member of staff and they basically said, ‘I don’t know much about them because I don’t use running machines’, which as I pointed out is missing the point, I’m simply asking you to get someone to service your machinery so I’m not having a substandard work out. This is just one example of many, at the sheffield branch I go to they don’t turn the aircon on unless it’s blisteringly hot, and they take ages to replace damaged equipment. In addition, the staff only care about their mates, the people they want to flirt with, or specific people that pay to train with them. Otherwise you’re dead to them. All of this was for £26.99 a month, but I assume will now be £2-3 more. When I can get the same, or probably better, experience with the gym group, who I have had nothing but good experiences with in the past. Not sure why I stayed with them for so long. I’m sure they’ll have some bland response, but the reality is PureGym is owned by an American investment company, it’s lost its purpose. Which is to provide accessible and cost effective gyms.
Not a bad gym - some good equipment here and plenty of classes for those into that kind of thing. Only knocks I found were that the gym falls into the same traps a lot of other places do, with way too many running machines and bikes at the expense of leg machines or cable machines. The gym is often very busy, and with only 1 left machine each for essential leg exercises (leg press, calf work, leg extension and leg curl) and only 4 dedicated cable machines, it is common to find yourself struggling to get on with any leg and cable work. The other knock is that the men's toilets could do with more frequent cleaning, as they often smell quite strongly of urine and the soap dispenser is often empty
If you've ever been to a gym chain, you fully comprehend you get what you pay for. Cheap monthly payments and none of the fluff you might get at higher priced centres. The personal trainers are generally quite nice and will help if you should require it. The classes are good fun and very engaging. The cleanliness on some of the more popular machines isn't always top notch, but saying that, dozens of people are using these daily. Equipment/decor won't be replaced until it's literally unuseable which sometimes leads to very worn looking props. Overall, I'd recommend if you're just the type of person that wants to be in and out.
Absolutely % is a 5 rating!! The place is amazing and feels very safe too, because it's impossible to get in without a PIN number. I would greatly recommend this place if you're interested in joining the Gym, without a doubt!! It has a wide variety of choices to choose from, but you do have to get yourself sorted and buy a few things first, but otherwise, absolutely perfect!! You can get a Personal Trainer too, if you want AND they have regular classes daily, which is amazing!!
Really good gym, loads of equipment and space.always clean and quite tidy. Main issue is the noise. The music is so loud you hear it no matter how high your earphomnes are set. When classes are on, you also have to hear the PTS shouted instructions throughout the gym. This does spoil my enjoyment of the place. Especially when the classes are very small and the rest of the gym suffers with the noise. Also, needs more water fountains. 1 for the whole gym isnt enough.
Wayyy to busy. Google analytics very misleading/inaccurate, upon joining and opening the app I learned there was literally over 100 people in the gym. Lowest it seemed to dip was about 70-80. No staff presence at all on my few visits, very quickly cancelled the membership. If you don't mind queing a lot to use the equipment, or if you just want the treadmill/ cross trainer you'd probably be alright. Not worth joining at all if you plan to work out between 5-8pm.
Good equipment, good quality equipment and good atmosphere, only annoying thing is nobody moniters the horrendous parking!! Abled lazy people parking in disabled bays, parking on the chevrons when there's more than enough parking spaces and even parking beyond the chevrons almost blocking the one way system, which also needs to be marked up clearer....
A very good gym, equipped with a massive choice of exercise equipment for you to train 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! The staff are friendly, with plenty of free classes to keep you fit & motivated. You can also book, any of the personal trainers who are very knowledgeable and can assist you in achieving great results.
Good open-plan gym with a great balance of Cardio/Weight training equipment. Using the PureGym app is advised as it clearly shows the number of people currently working out. 24/7 access allows no excuses to workout! If this is not your local PureGym there a few more in the City Centre and one at Kirkstall Bridge.
Does the trick nicely. Never been a gym guy but beeping in and out at the door is great and easy to do. Changing rooms and toilets are okay, though I don’t use them much. There is a plethora of cardio machines. The weight machines are in slightly shorter supply. The free weight area is well stocked.
Good, fresh, roomy gym with confident,h2h (happy to help) istructors and good choice of workout classes... Also big fun watching all these self-in love people who race to have a bodies of their dreams... Watching each other jelously with same attitude thinking- My is bigger than yours …
My granddaughter goes there once a week she is nearly four and just beginning to listen to the instructions. They learn something new every day and get to play for 10 mins at the end of the session.. most instructors are very knowledgeable her instructor is excellent with young children
At peak times every day its a dead loss trying to get on what equiptment you want, when you want to. Loads of missing clips for the handles. Weights are left lying about by members instead of putting them back as well. The music is loud coming from the open plan class areas.
Clean It’s the gym where I push myself harder. Has loads of space, has the right equipment, has all the time cleaning materials available. And I’m so so happy it is back to 24/7 as my shift patterns sometimes allows me to be after 23:00 at the gym. Thank you guys
Decent gym with varied equipment, I enjoy coming to the classes which is easy to book on the app. Only downside is the car park gets really busy as there is a children’s gymnasium next door, also not enough mirrors or personal workout space especially for women.
The Gym itself is pretty much faultless , new equipment, open spaces, personal training and free classes aswell as it being 24/7. Just one downside it's always busy and can often be too busy to do your workout during peak time of 6:30-10:00 every week night
Good facilities and plenty of space, gets busy in peak times which is expected. Showers and 24/7 usage. Personally I think could do with more character inside as it’s a little dull, white walls and open space. Maybe decorate with a little colour or lights
Lots of machines, well spaced out equipment, and clean. I would say that the only let down is that the leg machine could really be double up as its generally hard to get on one at peak times. The staff are friendly and the toilets are clean!
Parking situation is an absolute joke. Peak times you got all the disabled bays parked by no bb holders and you got some right losers making up their own bays by parking in the road. Yet to see any evidence of staff sorting this situation.
Great for the price. Has everything you need in a gym. No pool/sauna, however that's reflected in the price. Let's be honest, if you're going for a workout, you're probably mainly interested in the gym equipment and this place has plenty!
Knowledgeable staff will help if needed but they mainly do private PT sessions great kit and good range of equipment lately there is a lot of teens going for ego lifting and to post on snapchat so avoid peak times as they are a nightmare
Terrible gym! I can't remember the last time I went and actually fully finished my workout, there are about 50 tredmills and only 2 leg press machines and only 2 flat benches for over 250+ people any any one time. Really poor variety/
Spacious gym with everything you could need. Probably best to pay online before you visit the first time to save time at the forward thinking, vending machine like but very secure entrance. Great staff will help out if you get stuck.
Only convenient because it's open 24hr, gets way too busy. Lots of wasted space where they could add more equipment which would probably help at peak times instead of waiting around to use things, hence why iv stopped going.
I tend to train late.. I always see the cleaner he looks around 40ish.. coloured guy. Don't say much just hi and smiles and always super friendly. Makes the gym feel alot more welcoming and less miserable to train at night
Really friendly gym, good atmosphere really enjoy going. I don't go at peak times as it does get busy but during the day it has a steady flow of people. It's always clean and staff are friendly.
Nice big space, plenty of free weights. Plenty of cardio equipment. Good value for money. Just don't stare at the ceiling when you're benching because those lights are like staring at the sun.
Cheap and accessible. Lots of useful gear. Update on my last review is that there's less gear lying around. Was much cleaner and tidier, and actually a sense of community. I liked that.
Ok if it wasn't for the loud, banging music they inconsiderately play for classes! Open plan gym means no where to get away from it and good luck trying to drown out with headphones!
I would just like to thank pearl for showing me around all the equipment and giving me advice on what you thought was best for me and making me feel at ease in the Gym. Cheers
wish the times were full opening hours. Hates going when loafs of people there. However. Great cleaning and enough stations around when half to full capacity. Cannot complain.
Standard Pure Gym but classes are often very loud and intrusive when trying to do free weights / cardio. I can hear them through my headphones which isn't the best.
Happy with gym of 24/7. The gym it’s always clean , and it’s never too cold, but never too warm in building. The price it’s very good for service that is provided.
Love this gym! There is a variety of machines and it isn’t too busy at the time I go. Highly recommend if you’re looking to get serious about your fitness! …
I felt most safe going there, everything was wiped down when people got off the apparatus. I even had an apps to get in so didn't need to touch the key pad.
Large gym with lots of space. Can sometimes be annoying when you can hear music from 2 different exercise classes blaring out so be prepared to tune it out
Excellent gym. Lots of parking places staff always willing to help with any questions ample machines to use.does get a little busy between 1700 and 1800
Ladies toilet door has been broken for ages and nobody has been bothered to fix it. Doesn't cost that much to fix it. I don't understand the delay.
Could do with more Air in the place....atmosphere can get intense. High temp Air con maybe....overall been a lovely place to workout today. Thanks
Has the potential to be a good gym, however some of the members don’t have good etiquette as well parking in disabled bays without a blue badge.
Clean, organised gym, with very helpful staff. There are sufficient machines to train, however, a reorganised layout of the gym is also welcome.
Staff working hard to try keep COVID-19 free. People using the gym are cleaning after use of equipment. No issues well done Bramley team …
Great place with friendly staff , it is a little busy in the afternoon but absolutely spacious an easy to find what you need for your exercise
Probably one of the best gyms I’ve used. I go every day, and it’s always nice and cool, with helpful staff, and good quality machines.
Plenty of good equipment, bright and spacious. Cleaning materials available and people generally cleaning after using the equipment.
The gym in and of itself is okay however it's full of posers and wannabe pretty boys. Better off going to Porkys gym on town street.
Only second visit but a well set out gym and all you need for gym work went early in morning so not many people there. Perfect
Great cheap gym. Loads of equipment, just a shame the 2 high spec icg7 bikes I go for nearly always have a fault of some kind.
It’s a good gym with friendly staff but that wifi is really bad so I can’t listen to music when training. It’s quite annoying
Really approachable staff! Always someone to help and give advise. And push you out of your confort zone. We'll done Bramley.
Great place to be for a good workout, plenty of machines, weights, classes and friendly staff to help meet all your needs.
Great....friendly helpfull staff. Well managed for corona and plenty sanitising station's. Plenty equipment to go at.
Great gym, could really do with a few more leg machines but other than that really clean with a great atmosphere.
Great gym. Probably one of my favourite out of the ones I’ve been to. Solely because of the equipment they have
Bright, clean gym with lots of sanitising stations. The sports water is fantastic, I'd recommend lemon flavour!
Decent gym. Most of the cons aren’t PureGym specific and are to be expected if you visit at peak times.
Safe, clean and compliant, Excellent environment to train in for a balanced physical a mental workout.
It's a great gym and I love it I have been coming here for a few years now and the staff are helpful
Large gym but feel like there could be a lot more equipment. Struggled to find carabiners for cables
It's a good place to start working out and has a faculty for kids. But it's really crowded at times.
Nice friendly people, good variety of classes, very knowledgeable staff and plenty of equipment
Showers turn off after a matter of seconds, but other than its a spacious, clean and well lit.
An excellent stress free environment to work out. I highly recommend this place to get fit...
It's a pure gym... Not the biggest not the smallest. Not much room for free weights at times.
This place has plenty of free classes, friendly staff and lots of equipment and is open 24/7.
Good size gym, can get very busy during peak times, but still enough equipment to go round
Nice quiet gym but not as big as the others in Leeds, but is has all the main equipment...
regulary go to this gym. gym inside is clean and tidy but car park streen with litter
Very nice workout with proper distance between gym users as required due to Covid19!
I use Pure Gym as I am a close neighbour. Its over the road and convenient for me!!
Good Gym,24hrs, great equipment, very clean, cheap. Always have a good workout here.
Good gym, with a good selection of equipment. Very busy like most commercial gyms.
Decently big gym, however have been in a few times to young adults messing around.
Spacious, clean and can always get the equipment you want. Great community feel.
Quality, plenty of gear, lots of cleaning. Friendly people. All round thumbs up.
Highly recommend PureGym, looking to discuss your needs, then ask for Sophia.
Local and the off peak hours suit my work schedule and lifestyle - excellent
Nice gym but the yanga sports water i pay for has been down over a week now
Great gym sometimes abit full but app shows how busy it is if u look first
Very clean and spacious. Busy at peak times but all other times very good.
Great gym, I do classes and use equipment. Staff and people are friendly
Clean, spacious and tidy. The best of all the Pure Gyms I’ve trained at.
Good facilities and great range of classes included with membership fee
One of the best pure gyms I've visited. No broken equipment and clean
Good gym for machines and free weights only let down is no punch bags
Clean and tidy , lots of variety and pay by card vending machines :)
The staff are doing a fantastic job under the current circumstances
Fantastic gym, great staff and friendly environment to workout in
very clean and quite on a night time plenty of equipment to use
Good environment, seen a few people's in gym, looks great.
A++++, nice, clean place, friendly people! Will recommend!
Nice range of equipment. Just wish it had a coffee machine
Good gym but theres a lack of light weights for beginners
Nice app, easy access any time, has everything you need.
Great gym. Friendly staff and plenty of machines to use.
Got everything you need and very friendly helpfull staff
Good gym but a bit small and lacking in some equiptment
Fantastic gym . Friendly safe and always clean and tidy
Friendly environment. Clean shower and changing rooms!
