Have had mixed feelings about PureGym Twickenham in the last few months: I love the fact that they have improved the cleaning schedule throughout the day and evening: there is always a person who cleans and sanitises the facilities. I appreciated when they painted fresh white when I commented a couple of months back, clearly saw that happening straightaway. I love that the gym is 24h because it allows me to go off-peak and not meet the awful lot of teenagers behaving like the new generation of Rocky and Bruce Lee, or also those who enjoy taking their tops off and taking selfies. Also, why do people have to film themselves in the gym? If I'm working out next to somebody who is filming, I feel uncomfortable. The music is very loud, that's something not everyone enjoys. I have left PureGym because of the number of people that use the gym and spend most of their time on their phones. I will come back because there is nothing better in Twickenham and honestly, at PureGym you get a lot more value for what you pay, modern equipment and a good distance between machines.

Starting with the positives, for a low cost gym the range of equipment is very good. The cardio area has a lot of equipment and the free weight area is decent. The negatives relate to the male changing rooms. There are 80 lockers in side but at the time that I went the majority were in use with padlocks on despite there only being around 15 men in the gym. This meant there was only around 10 lockers available. The other problem came when I went to take a shower and discovered that there were only 4 cubicles and all were in use, leading to a cue of men in their boxers making idle chit chat while waiting for a cubicle to become available. If you're looking for a well stocked gym and enjoy socialising in your pants, this is the venue for you. Likewise, if you don't intend on using the showers then again this will probably be a good choice. However, if you're the sort of person who does need to shower after a workout then maybe have some anecdotes handy for the wait.

One of the more equipped gyms in Twickenham. During off peak times it's nice to use and the staff are pleasant. In peak times (5-7pm), it gets too full, you will have a disappointing session. Also they insist on keeping equipment with rubber grips which stretch/tear and they refuse to tighten/fix any. E.g., the lat pulldown bar or v-bar just rotate in your hands. They also don't have enough carabiners/clips so you can't even use the awful rubber grips! And the elastic bands are non-existent now. Suggestions for customers - avoid peak times Suggestions for gym - buy grips/bars with knurled grips, not rubber. And get more carabiners/clips and elastic bands. Also put zip ties round the base of the carabiners so people stop moving them around or stealing them

Its like a crèche for teenagers. Unfortunately they go around in groups of 4 - 6 with half of them not even there to train. Sometimes there are group of lads, with groups of girls standing around watching them its getting beyond insane and i'm considering terminating my membership. Large proportions look underage too. Half of them do nothing and the other half (slightly older probably 16) are abusing SARMS and slapping each other on the back and lifting with terrible form. It would be funny if it wasn't so tragic.

it is a great gym with good quality machines and weights even with how cheap the membership is. really bang for buck. however, i would not recommend for beginners, and there is a lack of plates especially in the free weight area furthermore, the male changing rooms are adequate but the taps have such a high pressure that they resemble jet washers. like seriously sprays my shirt everytime i use. overall, is a very good value gym, especially for those who know what theyre doing.

I am 16 and go to this gym and a lot of people say that kids are coming I never see them I am also still in year 11 doing GCSEs so I may have kit on but doesn’t mean I’m younger if somebody is using equipment you can politely ask how many sets they have left none of you are above anybody please be respectful you are supposed to be the adults! There is no rule about groups and I have never seen anybody messing around with equipment

Joined a few weeks ago and have been very impressed with the classes and the layout of the gym. Went to the Tuesday 7am circuits class with James and it was excellent. This was the first class I went to and I was hooked! Really diverse stations, best I've experienced and really motivational instructor. I also got my partner to join based on this experience and I feel really good after just a few weeks, so chuffed!

  • Scott Williams

Very cramped gym, great equipment but couldn't use everything due to the levels of people in there, also sadly staff don't seem to care for helping much, I was in for my first time and while I'm clearly looking lost trying to find the changing rooms and vending machine the staff just looked at me as if I was in the wrong place instead of offering help. Otherwise its very clean, modern and nicely cooled.

One of the smaller gyms, but was clean and tidy. Got a bit awkward when someone who was training decided to set up a tripod and camera to film himself in the free weights area (?!) and then the same guy plus another decided to take their tops off and do lots of posing in the mirror - there was a noticeably awkward vibe for those few mins, especially uncomfortable for the female members.

Don’t join if you like to listen to podcasts or your own music while you workout. They have classes that don’t have their dedicated room, so you will be hearing some instructor shouting random things and a loud music the whole time you are in the gym. Apart from that is very good. Nothing special , nothing too bad, if you just need a decent gym to go, this is more than enough

  • Cem ERTEN

Nice gtm with plenty of machines and good PTs. The staff is helpful and the crowd is nice. The app is great to plan your visit ahead as it gives you live information on how many people are in. Pretty much everyone sticks to "clean after use" rule with the cleaning wipes and liquid. Recommend anyone who would like to start a gym or a continue with their current program.

Not well ventilated, sweaty and damp smell. Barely any staff around- lots of 16-17 year olds that hog the weight area, videoing and taking photos of themselves in the small changing rooms. Not worth the money. Raised the issue in the feedback form when cancelling membership and was told that there was nothing they can do about it. Really disappointing experience.

  • Vivi Bussadore

Need to improve the circulation of smell in the gym! I don't understand how there are people who don't use deodorant, don't shower and don't change their clothes! There was a time when I almost vomited from the smell of sweat in the gym! People could have a better sense of hygiene! Apart from that, the gym is without a doubt excellent! I love!

I was on my way to this gym to ask about joining up when I was hit by car while cycling. Nothing serious but on arrival, Seff (Hope that’s the right spelling) took good care of me, gave me first aid, helped me calm down and then gave me a lovely tour of the place. Looking forward to my regular visits.

  • Sprig

Very good representation of a Pure Gym. Brilliant location. Clean and well ventilated. Didn't see much of the kids that others have complained about. Free weights area is a bit on the smaller side compared to tlotuer locations but all in all 10/10. There's free local parking.

  • Rhiannon

A really good gym. They have almost everything you could want, although they could have a few more of the machines as they typically only have 1 of everything. The gym is small, so can get busy and the machines you want can often be used

  • Winston Rodz

I like it a lot besides the point lots of people stay on their stations on the phone in between series; not caring about others trying to fit their time. So, I do not see any sign from management to educate their subscribers about

  • After Hours Cupping

Its a small gym not as much equipment compared to others gyms, but quite a few cardio stuff. Not the gym for me but might suit other ppl. General clean For cupping service follow me at @AfterHoursCupping

  • Natalie Smyth

Full of kids standing around, way too busy and they keep getting more people signing up when the gym is so small. People don’t wipe down the equipment. Can’t use the weight section as no room.

  • Mo Sarshar

Sean Fontana is the best! He is energetic, has an excellent ability to communicate with his clients, and he is willing to assist and respond appropriately to his client needs.

  • Kamila H.

It's brand new gym, lots of weights and machines. Members of staff are very keen to help and show right technique. I would personally add assault bike :) ah and triceps ropes.

  • Sam Sam

Good gym with good facilities, but has been overrun with 13year olds recently, groups of 5 or 6 hogging benches for half an hour at a time. Makes it impossible to workout.

  • Sarah Awad

Personal trainer Terangi Maeva helped me out after pulling a muscle in my neck in the gym, she was super professional and massaged my neck and gave me really good advice.

  • NotoriousB

Good selection of equipment. Friendly staff and good vibes from the people there. Not many people standing around. Everyone is there to get fit! So far so good :-)

  • Andrew Owen

Excellent smaller PureGym, at no point of peak did I find it crowded. Only minor criticism would be the lack of parking that I'm used to with other PureGyms.

  • Infinite (Infinite)

Needs more back/lat machines with better grips for the cable machines. Not bad otherwise. I got at night when it's quiet. Too busy during the day.

  • Ronaldo Fink Mullen

It's a gym, bit cramped but it seems to have all the bits. Download your music or podcasts before you go, as the signal is very patchy in places

  • Bea Mythler

First time using this gym, and my experience was pleasant. The facilities were clean and the staff was helpful and friendly

  • Celine Harte

Favourite gym I have been to but only issue is its far too warm all the time, air con needs to be higher or on more

  • Dipesh Gamanlal

Good gym especially during the summer period as its not as busy! Good quality equipment for weight training

  • Bryony Smith

A great, low budget, gym with plenty of equipment and amenities. Lots of classes and showers on site too.

  • Mathew Wilkins

Great gym in a good location. Whether you’re lifting weights, cardio or classes it is suitable for all.

  • Jake

The gyms and gym staff are always efficient and easy. The membership small print is complex and small.

  • Héloïse Aboulker

Ok gym, quite crowded and in a basement. You can hear loud music when you are in a yoga class.

  • Aris Andrianopoulos

Quite busy because it's small but it's clean and tidy. Great equipment and friendly stuff.

  • Sorayya Mohammadi
