Really nice selection. Lots of locally made/organic etc groceries. Think sourdough bread, sprouted bread, activated almond milks etc. I always buy lactose and gluten free groceries here. They're on the pricey side but not more than anywhere else I think. The staff although nice are very dismissive when it comes to them ordering items in, otherwise they'd be a 5/5. I've asked a few times if they're going to get something in stock again and they're answer is almost always yeah, next week. They never check and get back to you. Next week has never been next week (and I've offered to give them my phone number etc). Sometimes things go off the shelf for several months. You could go in a few times in a week and ask if they'll be getting that product back in and they'll just say "next week"!

I am generally very happy with this store. I have been getting food from this store for a while now, and I would like to give a 4 star review with a few things I personally think could be improved. Things I like: 1. There are many healthy foods to choose from, veggies and fruits, organic stuff, juice and bakery style bread. The well fermented bread you can see in the posted photos is very tasty, and only costs $1. 2. Good location, and easy to get your grocery shopping down locally. Things I think could be improved: 1. It seems to me that there is only one employee in the store, and they are always busy with organising the shelves. So sometimes you do need to wait to make a payment. So overall, I am giving 4 stars.

I LOVE this shop! Every time that I have gone into the shop the people are always so friendly and kind and I had to send a friend a present to extend my appreciation for her help but I am in Tasmania at the moment and I thought to call QE to ask if they could be so kind to take my present down the road to my friend and Krishna who works at the QE was just absolutely AMAZING and was kind enough to take them to the shop where my friend works!! I thank you guys down to the bottom of my heart for your help and kindness ☺️

This place always smells like urine and or something dead. The smell started in the back right corner of the store and has spread. It’s to the point where I can’t physically get myself to shop there. Chronically understaffed as well. Staff will ask you to go check prices on things that you bring to the counter bc they’re so under resourced. It’s pretty laughable given the prices the place charges. Seems like it would be easy to go in and just walk out with food though. The place is basically unsupervised.

A month later, and the place is still infested with rats. They run across the floor and are in the shelves. They aren’t afraid of humans, which means this is likely an infestation. You guys sell fresh produce, which I’m absolutely certain the rats are going for. This isn’t legal, and I’ve reported it. Staff members also look guilty and scared, and they shouldn’t be subjected to such working conditions.

The place was infested with rats. We could smell them. We could hear them rustling in the shelves. At one point a rat ran across the floor. The poor person working there seemed very scared and she was working by herself. Seems like it would be a nice store otherwise, but the owners shouldn’t be subjecting their staff to those working conditions.

Ordered from Uber eats a lot of items were out of stock and they happened to really be the only ones I was concerned about getting- completely unable to get in touch with the store by phone as I was hoping they could help me with some substitutions but the store is uncontactable by phone which is incredibly frustrating

The moment we walked in I was hit with a stench of urine and death. 15 SECONDS later a humungous rat runs across the aisle and into a shelf. All the produce stunk as if it wasn't fresh. I am 100% confident there is a rat infestation. Health inspectors need to shut this place down!

This supermarket is always well stocked up and has very good customer service. The store is always clean and they often have good deals on. It is conveniently located and has good store hours. Some of the items are a bit overpriced, but I always find what I'm in need of.

Great neighbourhood grocery with a little bit of everything. I like that they have a few hard-to-find and gourmet items you can't get at the larger supermarkets. Produce is good quality. Staff treat you like they truly appreciate your business.

Good if you're extremely specific. E.g. I went here for some breakfast items, but all the muesli appears to be for specific diets and ludicrously priced. Some other stuff I could find at only 30-50% premium compared to regular supermarkets

QE Store Newtown is a local treasure! It has everything I need and the freshest tastiest produce. David is always a pleasure to talk to and very helpful. I would highly recommend dropping into the Newtown store whenever you get the chance.

Terrible delivery experience. 8 out of 11 items I ordered did not arrive. With no explanation. Then the this store did not answer the phone. I tried calling 3 times. Do not waste your time and money on this overpriced store.

Old school vibe, the staff have consistently been friendly, it's small store prices but given a lot of their goods are things like vegan/gluten free etc it is to be expected to pay a bit more. The fresh fruit is damn good.

Such great value, quality and convenience. The service is outstanding!! Always greeted with friendliness. David is always beaming a huge smile as he points out the value and sale items.....big ups to qu newtown

Likey to buy rotten food. make sure to take a good look at what you grab off the shelf as I’ve been inattentive and purchased food that looks fine on a glacé but is mouldy and old despite being in date..

This used to be good but I find they are always out of stock of several items whenever I go there. I try to ring beforehand but they don't answer the phone. I also find the prices are overly high.

Order ready made meals. When the order arrived it was not what I have ordered. I specifically selected a meal that was gluten free but alas. If you dont have the items, please cancel the order

I bought a big box of cut watermelon last night and opened the box as soon as I got home (which was 20 mins later). The watermelon had already gone bad. Wasted my money by buying this at QE

Wonderful small supermarket, QE Newtown is a super convenient distance from my place. It’s got great range of yummy, healthy and glutenous vegan food! Plus the staff are very friendly!

Small but very well-stocked alternative grocery store. Many organic, paleo- and allergy-friendly products. I could find pretty much everything I needed for my pantry here!

My one stop shop for lunch and grocery shopping. Utsav always greets with a smile which is lovely to see, but all the staff here have been wonderful. Keep it up guys ! ☺️

Husband bought a loaf of bread. He was in a hurry for the bus. Cost over $7.00 when we arrived home saw that the best before was 7/5 today is 8/5. Such a rip off

We love QE foodstores! They feel like a local part of the community but at the same time have a great range of foods so you can get everything you need.

The rat problem is abit concerning but staff seem friendly enough, especially for working and sharing a environment with rats, foods abit overpriced
