I called in for a simple issue and the one staff member was incredibly rude and not helpful. Granted, it was close to 4:45pm and they close at 5pm and she was being so very difficult and rude! She asked me security questions and basically told me that I was wrong and she refused to help. So I asked to try again she tells me her system will not allow it. I ask her to please help. I've worked in banks before and what I needed would take not more than 2 minutes to clear. She sighs very loudly and says I'll have to come in or call tomorrow. I ask to escalate and she says no. What?! Wow. I push and push for proper customer service as a client for a basic thing but now it's 4:52pm. She literally puts me on hold until 4:59 gets back on and says she'll have to transfer me to the call centre. Wow, amazing customer service to make sure she got out at 5pm. Best part...when I double checked my answers against my statement, I got them correct!! So she flat out lied. What a shame. Call centre was great though. Thorough, easy and literally took him a minute to clear the issue after he verified me with the same answers I gave her. This branch should get some customer service training from the call centre!
The employees here think Covid-19 practices means being rude to their clients. I have been sent away a few days ago because they said I can’t do a transaction in the branch. I called the bank for the second time to make sure that’s not true and that I can only do the transaction in the bank. The woman at the door tried to send me away again barely asking me why I was there. So it took two visits and two phones calls just to do a 2 min transaction that had to happen in the bank. The women were also rude about me walking in the door and leaving. Wouldn’t let me press handicap button instead I had to use my elbow to press on the door to open it. Don’t know why because the amount of contact is the same. Told to press on the middle door. There is only one entrance with a double door. Where is the middle when there’s two doors? Doesn’t make sense. I didn’t like coming here before the pandemic and now I hate the location even more Can this place open more tellers when it’s busy? There’s a line going across the bank so many people and one teller open. It’s crazy.
I never post reviews but I have to share my very negative experience I had with this branch yesterday. I patiently waited to be acknowledged while all the tellers seemed too busy to even make eye contact. When one of the older ladies finally did acknowledge me her answer to my simple foreign currency exchange question was hostile and rude. She did not ask any further questions and stared at me as if I should have known the answer to the inquiry I was making. In contrast, I went to another RBC location on Dundas right after this experience where the teller Adam was very kind, provided me with suggestions and ensured my transaction limits would not cause any problems. I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed. All the tellers including the lady I dealt with didn’t seem to enjoy their jobs and showed it. I would advise a staff change. Believe the reviews and don’t come to this location until they hire tellers who have good customer service skills.
zero stars. My husband and I walked in to ask if RBC has any accounts for new comers to Canada. There was a lady, who turned us away at at the door, saying they do not have anything for newcomers. Upon visiting another RBC branch in another city, we were informed that there is in fact offerings for new comers and the other branch was shocked to hear we were turned away. Every time I have walked into this branch, it has been a poor experience. I'm honestly sad at how we are treated when we visit. Most of the employees at this bank are incredibly pretentious and I, along with all my family and friends in the area avoid this branch. To the bank manager: please invest in training all of the employees in unconscious bias, and perhaps a refresher in RBC line of products and offerings. Please do better.
I opened a new a bank account (I left my old bank after being with them for 13 years) I asked certain questions to make sure that the transaction in switching banks would be effortless and what the bank advisor told me what Is what wanted to hear. Now I'm finding out that all of that was a lie and I have tried to call numerous of times and even had the people over the phone email the bank manger and the advisor that helped me and yet no help nothing has changed in my bank account or haven't gotten a call back. Now I'm left here with no money it is all frozen and they can't do anything about it. I'm starting to regret leaving TD Bank now. I never met this manger but clearly who ever they are just simply doesn't care and is heartless, after one of they're own employees lied to me
Booked an appointment with Sandra Yu ahead, however the morning when we arrived the staff who should assist us were not even in?! And the front desk lady helped us contact their colleague, she gave us a phone call, basically saying that she was not the right specialist for our situation we booked wrong??? And we waited for 40mins for them to figure out why this person was not show up for her appt. At the end the branch lady booked another appointment for me, but no one apologized for this no-show experience, I mean, is difficult to inform us know that? Or cancel the appt? Only found out when we arrived, and 40mins waiting. Very disappointing experience, first time here and also last time.
Staff are very rude and dismissive. They do not read or understand English properly. They are inconsiderate of your time and will not help you in a situation of need. Do yourself a favour and don’t visit this branch. The branch tells you one thing and customer service on the phone tells you something else, and even when customer service leaves notes for them they are not competent in English enough to understand them. I have never seen a more uneducated branch manager in my life. The assistant branch manager is also very rude and glares at you like we are children. This has now gotten personal and I will not stop until the branch manager has been disciplined by rbc.
This branch is racist! They threatened to call the cops after I asked questions as to why I was unable to make 12 separate deposits into the same account, for accounting purposes. They told me that something was wrong with my account but when I asked them questions to understand what the issue was, they told me I needed to go back to the branch in Montreal where the account was opened. I don’t understand how I can’t deposit money into my account without them charging me! I still don’t understand what is wrong with my account. I highly suggest you bank at another location or another bank! They are awful and will surely treat you differently based on your race.
I was there at 7pm on a Thursday. There were 4 customers in the line and another 1 with one cashier. Another cashier was doing something, without customers. A manager doing something, without customers. I waited 5 minutes. Every customer remains where they are. 10 minutes. Every customer remains where they are. I can see cashiers and manager are doing something and talking occasionally, except helping customers. 15 minutes. Every customer remains where they are. I left. Will never come back again.
The lady i dealt with seemed annoyed that i was even asking for help. I opened up an account almost 2 months ago and still I haven’t received a debit card. My temporary card expired and i was given another temporary card and told i have to come to the branch a 3rd time just to activate it. Im with 4 different banks and RBC has by far the worst customer service and would not recommend it at all. Try any other bank
My question was not answered, basically I was told to call customer service, aren’t they supposed to be customer service? Very low work efficiency. Lined up for a long while and the line did not move at all. Only two customer representatives are working and they seem to be not familiar with their work and always have to go to their manager back and forth. All customers are tired of waiting and disappointed.
Literally average 15 minutes to serve a single customer. Last time I was there for transactions I waited 1+ hour with about 6 people in front of me and closed my accounts on the spot. The staff is not so bad, just too slow and not enough. Zero sense of customer service. The only positive side of RBC is to remind us that Scotia and TD are not so bad after all.
Before you even ask a question, the answer here is “NO” This place is on another level of horrible - their own manager has the audacity to yell at you after they tell you they do not provide simple services that other banks provide. I do not understand why they even exist. Every other bad review is 100% true. If I could give them 0 stars, I would.
Bad experience for business banking. First the teller was rude, you are working in customer centric environment and need to have a friendly demeanor. Secondly I already have an account so why would I need to make an appointment if I want to make a change. But at a different branch they had no problem and did the change right away.
The teller are not very friendly. The setup let you seat set in a long line and they are always busy with customers. That is below average banking experience for from other banks. I guess they are use understaff for taker people. Yet. There are people at the bank in the office doing not. So much for customers experience…
Terrible service. Employee has no knowledge and manners. The branch manager does not understand basic procedures and how to handle customers. Whenever i go there is huge line up and employee are all irritated and rude, rushing customers to exit door. This branch needs staff change.
We had a great experience today. We were greeted at the door, and Gina was super helpful, she managed to explain everything very clearly to us and advised us accordingly. Would love to see RBC hire more people like her. She took her time and we were not rushed. Thank you Gina !
Funniest branch ever! I asked for 4 bank statements printout and the teller goes “will have to order them for you and it costs $6 dollars per statement HAHAHAHA I’m not sure if she’s new or didn’t wanna work! Anyways very bad customer service. …
This branch is the worse RBC branch in this area. Tellers are pretty aggressive, the branch is always busy; hard to book time to explore products or services. I wanted to have my kids opening an account to RBC, I am now recommending checking other options first.
Very bad customer service, wanted to arrange a new saving account and they said no one is available to help me because we are closing soon and half of the team already left. It was 6:30 and the bank hours are until 8pm.
More than 10 people lining up and only 3-4 windows opened up, among which 2 of them having longer than 30 mins conversation. Waiting time is way too long. Management could be better to monitor such situations.
Never expected such a rude behaviour from bank, I should have checked the reviews and then gone, the teller lady was so rude to me and talked in sarcasm, guys be professional! I’m closing my account.
Went to dispute a $ 1000 + fraud in my account and ended up with the unprofessional branch manager literally kicking me out cause she didn’t like my “tone of voice” !!!!
Long story short, first lady (teller) on the right disrespects clients. It wasn't just me, I saw how she deals with other clients ahead of me ... AVOID AVOID AVOID!
Helped me with all my problems. They sat me down, calmed me down, assured everything was okay as I was very stressed. All staff were extremely kind and considerate.
I can see why people prefer online banking because dealing with the tellers here is horrible. Please improve your customer service.
Worst service waiting for you, visited several times but always incompetent tellers. Long lines terrible customer service
Rude and ignorant tellers. Spoke badly of me right in front of me not realizing I understand. Go to another location!
I would give negative star. The RBC is very unprofessional. The staff’s attitude made u feel very uncomfortable.
Nadia and Lorraine did everything to resolve my issue. Thank you ladies, so glad to have met you. Great job!
