Tuesday, November 8, 2016 A Very Sad Election Day For The United States Of America! This is a day that I will Never forget! It was bad enough during the George Bush Era back in the year of 2000, but Now We Have To Re-live This Nightmare with Donald J. Trump! I am so angry, miserable and sad that Hillary Rodham Clinton did Not Make It all because of this Fraudulent Election and Their Stupid, Bogus Rules on the Electoral College Votes which decide for the country. I do Not know any country in the world that has as an Unfair Election as the United States has. The reason of Why I am writing this review under the Rancho Cienega Recreation Center is because this was the Polling Place For The Election and my review is Only Negative about the Election and My Opinion here has Nothing Personal To Do With The Rancho Cienega Recreation Center whatsoever. I am more than sure that the recreation center is a Fun Place To Visit except on this Horrible Election Day of Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in which I hope Never Happens Again! I can only Pray and Hope that Nothing Bad happens to the United States under the Trump Presidency and/or Ruling. Amen. Sincerely yours, Howard Paul Shore Angry And Upset Hillary Rodham Clinton Fan And Voter /HPS
My review is purely on the football field and surrounding amenities - The park is currently under large scale renovation, so it's hard to knock it as they obviously are working on improving the facilities, so I'm looking forward to that, but I feel like the existing space could be monitored more closely in regards to security. I'm specifically referring to the restrooms by the field and the north parking lot. I understand it's a public park, so I'm not commenting on the quality of the facilities as I'm sure those are next to be remodeled. But I feel like the restrooms never have lighting which can be sketchy considering they are frequented by many transients and other folks who are clearly doing drugs and hanging around the area. There are a lot of children who have football practice and other intermural sports that go on here and having closely monitored facilities would make the place much safer. This also goes for the parking lots which are very dimly lit. Like I said, I understand renovations are happening so improvements are coming shortly, but maybe some lighting and security would definitely help a lot in the meantime. Otherwise, I think the field is great and love the new street name, Obama Blvd.
Baseball fields have holes for days Regardless of what "some" may say. I love the energy on the field though folks are generally nice. They are doing alot of construction work so front parking lot is jacked the hell up back lot is usually flooded when it rains plus the many many many many potholes, be very care when driving in, plus the homeless encampment at the back entrance. Beware of the various folks smoking crack in the bathroom's if the bathrooms are even open and when they are its pretty much enter if you dare. If there is a game or function going on then most likely bathrooms are somewhat clean until they are not. Do not leave or even bring valuable items in your car for sure, make sure they are not visible.
El-O-Vee, Love, love this park. It has just about everything anyone can want from a full service park. Even during this year's quarantine I have found that it is an amazing place to go to experience green space. It very large, centrally located in between Los Angeles and Inglewood. The city is building a metro train close by that will allow for easy access in the future. My family plays tennis there once a month. I get some exercise done there at least twice a week. I will say that it is very strange that the park doesn't allow bike riding. Im not sure why that would be a restriction at such a place.
Unfortunately the stadium is technically closed due to COVID but there are plenty of people using the track. Someone from Parks and Rec even came and cleaned the trash up and didn't say anything to anyone working out there. I love this track although it is definitely time for it to be redone. The track itself is worn down and there are places where it is completely cracked and destroyed. I hope they repair it soon. They seem to be continuing with the work on the actual recreational center although it seems to be an EXTREMELY slow process. It's going to be nice when it's finally completed.
Love this underrated park. When all the construction is done it should be a premier recreation location. You got Jackie Robinson stadium, the Basketball gym (reconstruction), the baseball fields, the soccer field, the outside baskellball courts, the tennis center & courts, the skate park, the child care center, the playground, the picnic areas and the swimming pool. I have swam at the pool since I was kid and still do many decades later. The pool is my secret for rehabilitation, water meditation, & longevity. Don't tell nobody.
No stars number one unbelievable what these parks in poor neighborhoods charge Omg $40 for registration that gives you a $2 t shirt really now let's talk about no the swimming pool so here's the catch and how stupid is this the child or children are not allowed to wear life vest how stupid and I only one child per adult black people and Spanish people have more than one child so what and to boot the lol gurl behind the counter had attitudes wow booboo your neighborhood hoodrat card has been updated
The tennis courts need to be redone, but the Los Angeles Recreation Department only wants to resurface the courts. That's like putting another bandaid on top of a bleeding wound.
Playground
It's in the works for building a new playground.
Restrooms
They upgraded restrooms and are keeping them well maintained & cleaned for park goers.
Dog-friendliness
You can walk your dog around the park.
Picnic area
They are working on a new picnic area.
Local community track and field. I meet my running club there every Saturday mornings for our workouts. Plenty of space for multiple groups to get there works on. Walker's are usually on the tracks. Peewee football is back. That usually takes over by 8:30. There is also Celeste swimming pool, a basketball gym, baseball field and a tennis courts available. Not sure if there is a fee for classes. Ample free parking unless there is an event going on.
Every since I was a kid they have had a summer camp program which I've been in when I was about 10. I had so much fun I remember. Growing up here every summer. I definitely had to take advantage of there swimming pool. Also they have sports leagues, basketball, flag football, La Jets track, baseball and proably a swim team now to, I would expect. Very nice place to raise a child and to keep he or she active.
This facility on Obama Ave. is pretty shabby looking at present (early January 2022) as construction of new indoor aquatics, etc is getting close to completion. I am employed by a contractor involved with the project and so my purpose there was work related. It may well deserve a higher or lower rating by people who actually get to use, possibly enjoy the amenities.
Came to this park on a recommendation for some dog training. Used the original bathrooms facing the field. I appreciate that there was toilet paper in the girls' bathroom(single stall) My husband walked into the men's, and he said he was disgusting. Then afterward, I was informed that there were bathrooms in the new building and such a difference in cleanliness.
Only been here for the tennis courts. They are pretty well kept for public courts and they are 12 overall. There are lights and signs that prohibit lessons from taking up the courts (I'm guessing paid lessons). Only downside right now is that the old parking area is under construction and you have to find street parking on Obama Blvd.
There for a football game. Must enter on the back side (Exposition) to the big parking lot due to the construction. However, this is a really cool park. Football fields, baseball diamond, swimming pool, walking track's and gym for basketball that is under construction. Really nice area. Close to supermarkets and expo Line train.
Speaking of the parking lot and turf field quality... The parking lot has needed to be repaved for many years now. Deep pot holes on the baseball field side are rough on your tires and suspension. The field turf is hard on your body if you are doing extended play on it. It's overall not bad but not great by any stretch.
It's a busy park. Parking hard to find. But not impossible. For the large crowd that was there, everybody was having a good time. The street tacos were fantastic!! Bthrm dirty - it's a busy ball park expected it. Those metal benches don't do my spine n hips Any!! favors. Loved being with my fam nd watch my nephew play
Great park. Has lots of activities, but not well cared for. Needs lots of TLC. You can take tennis lessons, swim lessons; basketball and baseball lessons for kids. There's a tartan track to jog on and a soccer field. There's lots of homeless people at night. Managers need to clean up after them and patrons.
This is a big park mostly meant for baseball but they do have an indoor pool, basketball court and 4 baseball field, a soccer field, a basketball court, a handball court, tennis courts and a football field. What it looks like, it should be good for kids and to plan some of your parties.
Early morning before there's light is scary-lots of sketchy homeless people roaming around. Got my phone and track shoes stolen on the track. The track's first lane needs repair. There's some foundation damage on one side of the loop. The parking lots need repaving. Potholes everywhere.
I was posted in the parking lot Sunday 09/09/18 cleaning out my car. I couldn't go to Kenneth Hann as they charge for entering the park on the weekends. Smdh.. So I chose this one as it was more open for parking.. Seems like a nice park as the kids had a softball game going on.
I love this recreation center although the recent construction or lack thereof has been annoying bc it has taken away a majority of the parking usually available. It doesn't seem as though they are making any progress on the new facility that is supposed to be built there.
Amazing facility that’s never open. Have tried to pop in multiple times and every single time, lights are off, doors locked - morning, middle of the day, evenings, when it says it’s supposedly open. Can’t believe my tax dollars funded a facility for it to never be open
It's one of the oldest recreational spots in Los Angeles Dorsey high School uses it as is football field much needed improvement and Care Please donate your charity to this field NFL players and professional football players came from this field let's keep it going
Nice large park. Indoor new gym and pool. 12 tennis courts open till 10p football and soccer fields. 2 outdoor basketball courts. A skate park. A preschool and small public play yard. Was a lot of homeless people but not as much right next to a high school.
Very accommodating indoor recreational center with heated swimming pool, outdoor sports area and lots of open space for lots of sports and social activities for kids and adults. Currently LACity is making improvement to park so there's lots of construction.
Great place for tennis, football, soccer, and baseball, with a lighted track that's great for evening walks !!!! The basketball courts needs some attention. Can't wait until the gymnasium is completed, it will be a valuable asset to the community.
Everything has been improved except the field, the scoreboard and the press box. The field is at least 17 years old with patches of new turf sewn in between the hash marks where there is the heaviest traffic. The Nevco scoreboard has not
The fields could use a little more attention. There is construction going on leaving the place pretty dirty and with limited parking. It has the distinction of having the nastiest restroom I've ever seen. In the end, just average at best.
So nice tennis courts, and lots of activities are available. Big parking lot is always shotage, but always street parking is available. One issue is homeless tents at the corner, mostly you won't encounter them, which is not big issue.
Nice a wide lots of space around 11 am there a few people at the park. I usually take my drone here to fly lots of eyes watching you in the area there's not a lot of skilled drone pilots around so its like giving the people a show .
Looks like they did all that work for a pool and a basketball court. Whatever happened to activities and programs for the kids. Ballet, Carams, Dance classes, just games, summer camps ??? Kids Need Programs not basketball courts.
Wonderful people who are doing it from there hearts for the children. Many of these coaches are volunteers with the expertise who are not paid.. They truly do it for the children. A great place for the kids.. I love this place.
I went here last Saturday to see the youth play Pop Warner football. The crowd was large, respectful and enthusiastic. I plan on continuing to go here to support the players and my childhood friend who is a coach at this park.
I AM REALLY DISAPPOINTED OF THIS PLACE!!! THEY DONT HAVE RESTROOMS AVAILABLE AND THERE IS ALWAYS A LOT OF TRASH EVERYWHERE, A LOT HOMELESS. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PARK IS JUST BAD FOR PEOPLE TO HANG OUT AS A FAMILY.
Discriminating soccer, the park is wasting so much landing electricity for baseball fields. There one small soccer turf without light. I am seeing Young talented soccer players everywhere on the baseball fields.
Its a very convenient place to take the kids for a swim or playing soccer in a very nice turf, those who want to run at the field track beware!!! I and other ppl got kicked out, apparently is not for the public.
I've been going to this park since 1976 someone shot at Me someone shot at my vehicle in the back parking lot I drove off fast were the police or the. Help monitoring the parking lot I will report the shooting
Came here for flag football game. Artificial turf. Plenty of seating and field is nice! Main entrance from park to the field blocked (under construction) had to drive into Expo Bl. On first turn off LaBrea.
Great field to play on. Porta potties. Football Soccer Rugby fields Baseball n Softball fields.. Big parking lot. Mind your own business. Not the nicest area. Be aware of surroundings. Wear nutral colors.
Free EV charging, indoor community center with lots of resources, outdoor area not over policed. Feels relatively safe even at night due to somebody always being around because of the free EV charging.
Great place to do exercising and they have Youth Sports there my son plays football and it's pretty well lit and the people there are pretty decent in Friendly you can definitely get a workout going
Bleachers were really dirty, and very rickety. Felt unstable walking up the bottom stairs. Bathroom was insanely nasty. So many potholes in the parking lot.
Restrooms
Very nasty and unkempt.
Indoor pool, lots of tennis courts, playground, and sports fields. Great rec center that's also undergoing construction to become better. Not much parking right now due to the construction.
The streets fields are clean and good upkeep. Public restrooms are ridiculously disgusting. Light switch turn out of the wall, toilet overflowing, no toilet paper, smells really really bad.
This park is really cool for tennis and other activities like swimming, dominoes and walk/running the track. I love this park. We played tennis tonight and the lights were still on for us.
Very nice place to bring the family there is tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields and soon a basketball its under construction but every Sunday we are there to watch the soccer games.
This facility has very few places to park. Their is a large population of homeless that frequent the area. The turf soccer field is very nice. The staff are always very nice and helpful.
Great community based park. The actual structure has been demolished and is being rebuilt, but the park with baseball fields, the track, and football field are still fully operational.
You can always get a good exercise in without anyone bothering you. They always have the lights on at early morning & late at night depending on your work schedule you can get it done.
Nice park for workout, swim, tennis, basketball, track, and most importantly the reason I visit this park is for the wonderful pop warner football teams for children..I love this park!
This park has the best activities for families : swimming, tennis class and so much more . Staff members are amazing. There is a noticeable foul odor that travels throughout the park
A public Track & Field, football field and Soccer Stadium and Basketball gym. Large baseball fields, a swimming complex and tennis courts. An extremely busy park with ample parking.
Great local park w/a pool, track football field combo, bball field and basketball gym. Small play area 4 kids. Been going since i was 5yrs old and now i take my glamkids!!! …
Large sports complex, tons of open space. Nice gymnasium. Check the website for kids/sports programs. Also EV charging station are top notch (fast) #chargepoint stations …
There’s a lot of construction, and the road into the lot is a mess of pot holes and occasional encampments. But the track itself is nice enough and not too heavily subscribed.
Good place to play tennis. There are a lot of courts and sometimes if you don't have tennis balls, you can get some back of the center and there is a spot(wall?) to practice.
Please upgrade the facilities at the football field for the concession stand were staying in the community.we pay to utilize the Space can it be updated like the Gymnasium.
I play tennis there on the weekend, probably because they are the only courts available in west LA. The courts all need resurfacing, and are missing dividers between them.
Great place has soccer field, play ground , skate park , football field, tennis court , baseball field and basketball court. I played here as a kid and take my kids here.
It's in the process of being remodeled. So in all fairness it can't be rated at this time. From what I saw of the pictures it will be a REALLY nice recreation center!!!!!
This place is very nice to go early in the morning to jog run do your exercise walk power walk can't wait to I try the pool the swimming pool I saw that it was very big
Great baseball program, it's a travel ball baseball team there I take my kids to play there and we travel all over the country, thanks to "los Crushers baseball club"
So much history in this place! Under construction, so officially we weren't supposed to be here. But, it is one of the best spots for training in the neighborhood.
Thanks to the Los Angeles Dodgers and other Pro Sports teams, that part is spectacular to me maybe I'm a little prejudiced because, is the home of the Dorsey Don's
I am a proud 1st generation tennis player , hosting my daughter to the lessons and leadership of the Williams coaches! As always, they run a first-rate program!
Has tennis courts, track, indoor pool, and a gym for basketball, soccer and baseball fields but the play atea with swings and slides and the such is very small
Great place for sports, training and swimming. Nice friendly staff. Definitely kid friendly and safe. Park director Phil is a great guy and easily accessible
9 courts. One of the tennis facilities you can grab a court at anytime. Friendly people. Just joined a tennis ladder there. Courts and nets in good condition
Bathrooms are terrible too far kids have to use the bathrooms for football practice need cleaned constantly very bad on the bathrooms men in women's bathroom
You have to know someone who's been there to help you navigate how to get in! But once you get to the hidden parking lot everything else about it is nice.
Swimming pool is heated and life guards are on duty...clean pool and area and also have women lockers with warm showers!..cost is a $1.00...opens at 7am
IT'S. A L L. GOOD...TENNIS...SWIMMING...BASKETBALL...REAL TRACK COMPETITION FIELD...BASEBALL...LOTS OF FUN TO EXPLORE ONLY IF YOU SHO UP N SHO OUT...
I come here for tennis every now and then and have yet to have a bad time. The courts are in some rough shape, but the improvements are gorgeous.
Absolutely love this park! It's 100% a family park with tons of sports and classes for children to be involved in!
Restrooms
Always clean
Family friendly fun place with lots of a activities for any age. Olympic size track, basketball courts , heated pool and lid friendly play area.
We came here for a flag football game and enjoyed our time. I brought my dog to watch with me. There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy!
Upgrades in progress to swimming pool and main buildings. Well-used park for many sports: tennis, track. Soccer, baseball, basketball & more.
Great director of the park. Mr. Ralph is amazing. Good staff. Great experience. I hope they fix the parking issue. Maybe a structure soon
Ive been coming here its indoors so u dont get sunburn I loved this and its cheap!! $1.00 I tottaly recomend this to everyone❤❤ …
Great pool? Womens dressing room very small. Great water aerobics classess
Restrooms
Clean and handicap accommodations available
Overnight parking allowed. Lots of homeless residents. Lots of screaming in the tents, so park towards the center of the parking lot.
I take my sneaky links here at night when I don't want to be found I gave three stars because it's kinda janky if u not from the hood
4 baseball diamonds open for anyone, and a great track. There's a homeless problem around the park, but I've never had an issue.
woo I love this place the people are so nice and friendly...come over and do your work out just let's do it...god bless you...
Rancho look amazing! I used to play basketball there everyday for years in the 80's & 90's. Looks great. Makes me feel good!
Great new facility. Pool and sports gym are incredibly nice. And the offered programs are great. The staff rocks as well.
I play soccer on one of the turf at this center. I love the camaraderie of the people around the center. It's a fun place
Quite a center for recreation. I was there to watch. Forgot my buttpad. Bring butt padding if you're there just to watch.
Every thanksgiving for the past 13+ there is a Live DJ. And a band playing. Food music drinks baseball socker friends.
It's was really good and fun it has a basketball, tennis, baseball and more. Also it has a summer camp and playground.
Very pleasant visit to use the LADwP free electric vehicle charging stations great location on 1/2 block from my home
It was ok for day camp. They were not organized as far as informing us of the children's activities in advance.
I take my dog here for walks and I'm looking forward to the pool reopening so I can take some swimming lessons
Under reconstruction new swimming pool new Recreational Center will be great for the community when completed.
This park allows overnigth parking because of the Metro rail. Lots of trash cans and sometimes lots of drama.
Hidden gem. Did you know they had a full on park back there? I didn't. Nice park and it was quiet and chill.
The facilities were very clean and quiet. The staff was helpful, I will mos definitely be going back there.
What can I say, tennis courts, pool, track, basketball, softball etc. It's all good for public facilities.
Nice park. ..a lot people go walk, jog and play . After 7pm will find a lot people playing training, etc.
Just took a peek at the pool, and the facility looked clean, inviting, and well supervised. Will return.
