To be fair, our experiences had always been fair for the last 20 or so years, hence, this WAS the grocery store we visit the most by a far margin. That is, until today, Aug 15, 2023. This specific employee of yours, her name Kim. I realized there is a power issue, but for her to be giving us such level of bad attitudes and the fact that she verbally and physically started grabbing my cart, needing to wheel it to the front "because of safety", just so we could be jammed pack into huge lineups of at least 20 minutes wait time to be conserved, sure, "safety concern", w-h-a-t-e-v-e-r. At that specific time being, we were literally 2 items from completing our shopping list of the day, a jug of milk and a pack of eggs, which are pretty much next to each other, both less than a minute away from where we were being harassed by this rude employee of yours. As a matter of fact, the amount of time she wasted on aggravating us, we could have finished grabbing the two items and would well be on our way to be jammed pack into the lineups, you know, "safety". If "safety" was indeed such a big issue, you should have just shut the store down and let go of everybody, instead of jamming everybody into huge lineups. Let's be very clear, there is a Costco at Beacon Hill which is maybe 5 minutes away, with way better trained employees who understand harassing customers is totally unacceptable. The Coventry Hill location is at most 2 minutes further than your location from where we live. I will NOT tolerate this kind of aggravation as a paying customer, period. And yes, we will be doing our shopping somewhere else in the future. Somewhere without bullying employee playing victim, threatening to call cops on customers because she deservingly gotten swearing at. It's a grocery trip, majority of people are not expecting some sort of special sweetheart treatment, just leave your customers alone. A simple gentle reminder about your power issue would have suffice, there is ABSOLUTELY no need to be grabbing your costumer's cart in order to chase your customers away. Well, mission accomplished, this 20+ years of customer is never returning, and will make an effort to discourage everyone he comes across to avoid your store. What an absolute terrible experience and utter waste of an evening.

BOYCOTT BOTH COMPANIES!! Worst ever!! UPDATE: CASE# 16793802 + a previous case # that day. I called twice because they could not deliver my order because they had no one to do it (a guy told me on the phone that it was cancelled by DoorDash) and I had to go pick it up as I could not wait till the next day I wouldn’t be home . They have not refunded me the delivery fee $10 or the $7 tipplus taxes. I have written in, no reply and today I called and they told me there’s no record that I picked it up Isn’t it their job to keep proper records?? (I have a case#)The guy on the phone Sahil had the nerve to suggest that I should’ve changed my schedule around with work so that they could deliver it the next day. Sorry I needed milk and coffee that night! Some people don’t have the luxury of staying home from work or work out of town That is why they plan to get the groceries delivered at the stated time! I also ordered groceries to pick up today and they said they’re shortstaffed so I had to go do my shopping myself with a sprained knee. I don’t understand why people keep shopping there!!! Four times now including today I go to pick up my groceries and I’m told when I get there that they are not ready and they may do them later at 11pm (when they were still open late now they close early because of their record profits of billions) an employee told me on the phone today that he told the manager yesterday that they would need more staff today because of the holiday and the manager just doesn’t care. I have never had this problem with co-op and they are courteous & they don’t use DoorDash for their delivery. I read in the news that if DoorDash doesn’t get a big enough tip they won’t take your groceries so I guess seven dollars wasn’t enough for them.(you also pay $9.99 + tax for the delivery too)so $18 total (update Nov 2023 never got refunded)also funny no one from superstore said sorry to me like they did the other reviews!!

It's a love hate relationship with Superstore. It's usually the cheapest place I can get groceries so I feel like I'm in a pickle and need to continue to shop here as other places can be much more expensive. However, quality can be hit or miss depending on what it is. I used to love PC Express prior to the pandemic but the level of service has declined. It can be upwards of a 30-40 min wait from the time you place the call that you've arrived. I appreciate the workers who are friendly and helpful. This isn't any of their fault but perhaps management has overcommitted to the spots available for each time slot. I have tried to deal with their customer service various times and depending on who you get, you may or may not receive the service you need. For example, price adjustment for prime rib last year, I pretty much got told to go away (they dropped the price from $8.99/lb to $4.99/lb in a matter of days). Meanwhile, a friend of mine got their roast price adjusted at a different location that they purchased from. I wrote an email to complain and it fell on deaf ears.

Edit Dec 2022: the store is now better stocked and organized. Previous issues no longer apparent. I've been using this store for about 7 years now. It's always been clean and the staff quite helpful. Not sure if it's under new management or if they are revamping the store but for the last 3 weeks the place has been disorganized and stock levels haven't been great (and it's not a covid issue). Only a few of the aisle signs correlate to the items that are actually in that aisle and there seems to be no common sense as to where items can be found. When I went today there was an entire aisle filled with Old Dutch chips, several rows away from where all the other chips could be found ‍♀️ Fresh produce is okay and on par with all the other stores in the area. If they get the place organized and stocked again I'd recommend it, until then, probably best to use another store.

Service at the self checkout is very poor. Yesterday I was scanning my groceries and the girl at the self checkout told me I didn't scan the milk and she had a scanner in her hand. I scanned the milk again, and after the payment I checked the bill and found that she lied and it shows I bought 2 milk packets. I told her that and she told me to go to the customer service for the refund. I wasted so much time waiting in the line and after the refund the girl at the self checkout was looking at the lady at the customer service and laughing. This is not a joke and she wasted my time, embarrassing me. I hope the people who train these girls at the self checkout to be more respectful, honest and friendly to the customers. Very bad experience. Please check your bills or invoice while you are exiting the superstore. I hope they are not scamming the customers.

This is one of the busiest store in Canada which has the largest size and the most varieties of choices than any other Superstores, staffs are friendly, groceries are very organized. Only a few things that I suggest to improvement at there: 1. A lot of shopping carts are hard to push, their wheels are stuck or making wired noises or keep vibrating. 2, The store manager needs to hire a better snow shovelling company, looks like nobody ever shoveled the snow on the parking lot. It’s really hard for customers to push carts. 3, there are some beggars consistently stand at the front of the store or entrance of the plaza’s first block. They seems a group of people in the same organization. Holding the same or similar paper board with the same contents and kept bugging customers for money or free items. Please get rid of these people around the store area.

If you do pickup orders, it can be a complete joke. A) a lot of the items you can find on the website are actually never available. They really need to change how online works because it's super disappointed to never get a single order with all the products you ordered. I have sometimes ordered the same product every single week and it was NEVER available. Like, remove it from your website! Also, if you are lucky, orders can be fulfilled within 5 min or it can take over 30 min. You can see all the people in their cars getting extremely mad after the 20-min mark. Same thing, can't you call in advance to tell people that it will take an extra 30 min today to fulfill the orders? I mean, it makes 0 sense to order online if in reality, it will take the exact same time to go to the store yourself and do your shopping.

Really disappointed at the customer service at this location. The amount I was shortchanged was very little but it's the principle that matters here. Let's do better please. I understand it's tough to be working customer service on a weekend or during busy times but to tell me my statement is "silly" when explaining the situation. I fully acknowledge mistakes happen - we all make them -- but in the name of customer service, it's best to remedy the situation professionally. Thank you. EDIT: Thank you to your team via the main customer service line for making this right for me. It's certainly not a location I'll continue to go to but will opt for my local Superstore instead (because they've been great and I've given them a shout-out for being awesome!!) Thank you!!

  • Jen E

I was very much looking forward to a change in scenery and variety so decided to try Superstore again. I haven’t been for a year. I was disappointed. The store no longer stocks the salads we buy ( my sisters Superstore in Winnipeg does). I noticed many of the fruits were bad so was careful selecting them. I found in the light of my cash that the bag of oranges and grapefruits were containing bad fruits And the container of grapes was not good. So these all got left at the cash. There was none of the large yogurt we buy out on the shelves (Krema). There were only three hams that you cook. And other issues. So left with half of my intended list and went to Safeway where all were there. It was about 10:30 am so not at end of day.

  • Alice Slaughter

Well, I never thought I would ever give Superstore a five star rating, but here I am doing just that. We were purchasing items to take back to the USA. (I grew up in Canada and miss many items, especially around the holidays.) Our cashier was helpful, happy, informative, and did whatever she could to ensure we got the deals we were entitled to. One of the bonuses was a box of beef patties. I wish I could have given it to her, but we were able to have customer service donate it to a needy family or organization. Now, if only they sold dry ice. Lol

  • Gandeephan Ganeshalingam

Online pickup was fun today. 35 mins after my first call - called again only to realize they had no clue who I was and where my order was. Edit #1: Since additional feedback was asked. I don’t believe anyone person is the issue. Your phone system might pose a challenge as they struggled to hear me at first and I had to repeat the name and parking spot. When I called back the individual was surprised I had not been served and after a 2 mins wait promptly responded that they would be coming out shortly. No explanation or apology was given.

  • Farah Sobh

10:20 pm. I was waiting in the cash lane and I changed my mind for an item BEFORE my turn arrives and instead of giving it to the cashier, I put it on the other side of the cash lane. The cashier was clearly mad and was trying to give me a lesson on how it is not appropriate to do that and that I could've donne better. I didn't like her attitude with me, especially after a long and tiring day. I get that I should be giving the item to the cashier but still, the way of communicating her message wasn't the best. She could've done better.

I have been shopping at this store for years and find it one of the better Superstores to navigate. However, in the last week or so they have completely rearranged the aisles and it makes no logical sense. It is just creating a lot of confusion and frustration. There is dog food and cookies in the same aisle and the cereal is stuck in the natural food aisle. The store does not flow well. I am not sure the reason for these changes but it was very unnecessary. The last few times I have been to the store I leave feeling annoyed.

  • Dee L

This Superstore location really upped it's game! There is much more variety of food items offered, aisles and displays are much cleaner and neater, and the prices are reasonable. PC products are truly interesting (for example, they now have dairy-free coconut milk ice cream). They even sell Jif peanut butter (amazing peanut butter. Once you taste it, other brands' PB would pale in comparison) and MacDonald's sauces (like the Big Mac sauce, Fish-O'-Filet sauce, and McChicken sauce). Definitely will come back more often!

  • Dan Scutt (DaddyDan55)

This place is always clean, shelves stocked, and yet no one around to ask a question ⁉️ I didn't have questions today, I knew what and where all that I was getting and all went smoothly. One thing I need them to do is get more tellers during the busy times. I'm always there in the am and it's packed with 1 teller and the rest self checkout. They are really great at raising food costs but yet don't seem to have the knowledge or know how to get the money from the people's pockets in a reasonable amount of time.

  • Jesse Corbel

One of the best Superstores ever! This is our go-to store where we can find every food item, including a significant international food aisle with lots of Indian, Asian, Mexican and other ethnic cuisines. The only downside is that it is a busy store, especially on the weekends, and not all the checkout counters are manned at all times. In fact, the aisles get so crowded that you have to use driving rules to navigate the aisles as the traffic causes people to stop and traffic jams are commonplace.

  • Stewart J

The hours are wrong and the management is rude about it - saying "Walmart's closed too." as if they didn't have to bother anymore and claiming it's been that way 'for over a week', as cars continue to fill the parking lot and people walk up to the entrance that doesn't have any signs or notices indicating the new hours. More self-checkouts and receipt checks are two more strikes against shopping here or any Loblaws brand. Oh look, the hours get changed suddenly after this review gets posted.

  • Jake Highfield

The Superstore is always busy, but for good reason. They always have the best selection of produce in town, and very reasonable prices. We head here once a week to stock up on everything we need. They have a good housewares section as well as a pharmacy and optometrists. They even sell some clothes! It’s a very useful one-stop shop. Checkout lines can be a little long, but I’ve never waited longer than ten minutes. I always choose this over any other choice.

  • Pat Levitt

Produce on Jan 4 at this location was horrible. Needed some celery and every one of them were covered in mud. Picked out the best one I could. Asked a tall oriental man in produce why the celery was like this and he went into a tirade speaking a language other than English. Sorry just a question, didn’t need an employee meltdown. Had to wash this off before I could put it in my refrigerator. Sorry buddy, you get the worst employee of the day award

  • Kristy

Went to shop at 9:55 and there is a sign saying closed at 10 PM no explanation given. We all have a million hours to go there for nothing when they could’ve emailed at least PC optimum members: they spam us in text for everything else. doesn’t say if it’s permanent or every store this is really bad customer service. With the record profits, I suppose they don’t need that extra hour anymore!!! I bet hundreds of people have gone there for nothing!

  • Debbie D.

Just picked up my groceries from Country Hills and it is -44 with the wind. Wanted to give a shout out to all those delivering groceries to cars! Each time I’ve picked up, I am met with positive, energetic and efficient workers and today was no different. Thank you for always being the perfect example of customer service. I know during challenging times, it can seem like an uphill battle, but please know customers appreciate it!

  • Mark G

An ok grocery store with a wide variety of products. Lots of choices in the seafood and fruits and vegetables. Some items were a bit expensive, such as a single red pepper for 2.50 in the middle of summer. You need a loonie to borrow a cart which is a pain if you don't know about it and never carry cash with you. The staff I talked to were not friendly, but it was early on a Sunday so maybe they were hungover.

  • Jalal Saghir

PC express needs major attention corporately, orders are frequently missing items after I get home to unpack, almost an hour wait for the items to get to you vehicle, tried calling the manager but no one returns your call. Too bad they used to be great, not anymore. This is an organization that made 2B last year, so I'm sure they can afford to pay more than minimum wage to attract more workers.

  • Nicole Mulato

a big, well priced, and lovely food shop. Many kinds of goods, including accessories, apparel for men, women, and children, as well as hair, cosmetics, and dental items. Fish products, baked goods, deli items, pharmacies, optical shops, chicken, beef, kitchenware, books, fruit, and organic goods are all available. This shop essentially contains everything one might possibly need for cooking.

  • Tolu (PTM)

A very nice grocery store, cheap and huge. Different varieties of products from Hair, cosmetics, dental products, drugs, medications, clothing for boys, girls, men, and woman, and several accessories. Fish products, bakery, deli, pharmacy, optical store, meat, chicken, kitchen items, books, utensils, fruits, and organic products. This store has pretty much everything one needs for cooking.

  • C Wagner

Well, this store has the worst produce in the city, by far. It has been that way for a long time, and I don't think that they will ever change. But, you don't shop SS for anything but prices. Convenience? Nah. This pic is from Oct 7 at about a quarter to 9am. Saturday morning and they can't seem to have enough cash registers open. Well done guys. Customer service isn't high on SS's agenda.

  • John F

Pharmacy - Staff never answer the phone. I called the customer service line at the store and the representative told me it’s better to just go to the pharmacy in person, which is ridiculous. I then made a complaint to the assistant manager before the pharmacy department was willing to speak to me on the phone. This is the only pharmacy I know that deliberately refuses to answer the phone.

  • Jack Bedford

More scamming customers by this chain. Most products are in pounds and a few in KG. And, the weighing scales are in KG. Is there no end to their scheming, confusing and bamboozling? Come on, give us one rationale for having measurements all over the place? Can't you stick with one measurement, just like Costco? Just another one of Galen's cash grab. Don't believe the "nice guy" persona!

  • Violeta Vio

Very upset and disappointed from this store I have been their buyer for more than 4 years, my experience was that the supervisors are not competent in their duties! They don’t even worry about losing their customers and I’m sure they don’t care! I am addressing you personally- Supervisors ! Increase your level of professionalism and customer service !

  • Jayme Bauman

For a superstore that houses a gym, you guys make it impossible to leave the gym without going through a maze. I understand trying to prevent theft, but i don’t think i should have to walk halfway across the store through self checkout when I’m simply leaving the gym. I know myself and others would appreciate an easier exit from the gym upstairs.

  • Sumit Dayal

I understand the system being down - it happens. In this case, it was dealt poorly. To have me call your 1800 for my points is like me asking you to call my bank for payment. And to cancel my order is a waste of time. I plan my purchases around point offers. If you can't provide the points on the spot, offer a voucher for next time.

  • Jojo mata

I bought purex dbl roll bathroom tissue tonight. Because its on sale. 10.97 on flyer and in store tag. When i checked my receipt at home it's 11.99. I know its not much difference but im trying to save my time and money. Its not the only item that I pay more than its tag in store. Hope you can improve this.

  • Alexandra Wood

Never going here again. Horrible selection of vegetables. Can never complete my grocery list cause they are always out of multiple things I need. And it’s constantly so busy to the point where its hard to move. Never an enjoyable experience. Cashiers are very nice, only good thing about the place.

  • Mathew Joseph

Store is great.. But what is with the outdated exterior.. It's not even the brands current color scheme. I think this building really needs that refresh to bring it into 2023. All that green makes it look like a T&T store.. Long pending Real Canadian. I hope someone from corporate reads this.

  • Leena Rudra-Das

Poor collection, half of the items not available, self check outs loaded with trolleys even after the notice of 25 or less items. Staff is least bothered no one to object for a full trolley at self check out and i was waiting for 30 mins for 5 items. Staff just busy looking at the machines !

  • Laura Croutch

This place gets stupid busy in the afternoon, so I highly recommend shopping in the morning during the week if and when you're able to. I also think it's stupid to only have one of the entrances open, as it seems to be with all Superstores currently. This makes parking an absolute nightmare.

  • Doug Gillespie

Pharmacy phone line has not been working for 5 weeks. You are unable to talk to a pharmacist. Tried to complain to the Pharmacist Manager but he was unavailable. Tried to complain to the store Manager Stephan Pablo but he wasn’t working today. Zero customer service

  • Tera-leigh

I was shocked to see the prices here haven't really changed . I will be switching from Walmart to here for 80 percent of my home costs. Got a pail of laundry soap for 23 dollars. This will last me till the cows come home. And we all know I don't have any cows lol

  • Shaun Grondin

Great selection, great value...the place is always busy but well managed. Parking and carts are always available. Store is clean and well laid out. Staff and cashiers are always available and pleasant. Thank you Superstore team will be back on a regular basis.

  • Arushi Gupta

The staff is great. Well stocked with internatiinal foods and stuff needed. The location is great with lots if parking area. Online shopping available. Pharmacy has polite and knowledgeable staff. The seasonal stuff is also stocked well. Bakery is great too.

  • B Sta

The one old tall blonde lady that works the till always takes walks around looking at everyone like there stealing from super old to babies haha, Gimme a break don't you have something more important to do like your job and leave that for loss prevention!!

  • David Nyagui

Lots of great produce to purchase from this Real Canadian superstore. I recommend everyone to visit this store for great prices and vaste variety of food and other stuff. It is located at an easy to access place. Enjoy shopping at this great grocery store.

  • D L

Learn a new thing from the cashier Shiela today at the customer service, you have to return the item from the superstore you got it from ? ( Item was unopened, unused , within exchange time range ) Since when superstore is not affiliated ???

  • Igor Zhadan

To be honest this store looks dirty, the cashiers are not kind and friendly, and the store is pretty good for doing groceries but the service is really bad. I prefer going to a new superstore in Bowness They're all staff much more friendly.

  • CG Account

Used to be good value when they had shelves stocked. Some items are still out most of the time or have disappeared completely. The store is getting dirty and feels disorganized now. Not sure why they carry less stock than they used to. PC

  • Koli Reyes Agbing

I went to Superstore Country Hills, the one near Hamptons Community, to do my usual shopping for work, which means buying items for food hampers in support to agricultural and foreign workers, so I buy in hundreds for each item, spending

  • Rodre Ghorashi-Zadeh

One of the larger and cleaner Superstores. Good selection of groceries and household items. Some things are expensive and other quite cheap when on sale. I gave 4 stars because I just started to know the layout of the place to find the

  • Charles Curtis

This superstore has been updated. It is a very large modern store. It has a good Meat/fish department. About one third of the store is non grocery. They also have a cell phone outlet within the store. There is a garden center in spring.

  • Jonathan Dardon

Had what you need. It was a little annoying to see some bell peppers that were past due still sitting at full price. I hope they would be getting to them to either reduce their price or take them off the shelf...

  • Jorge Morales

I believe they have the best prices in groceries and really well assorted for fruits and vegetables. Could be cleaner but I guess thats what happens when you are popular and accessible for various communities.

  • asma kulsum

Very poor customer service so disappointing. Management needs to train their staff to do a better customer service. The employee name Kanchan has zero customer service skills and no common sense at all.

  • Jon Hartenberger

After being told three times to leave the groceries in the blue bins during check out, I do so today and get scolded. Had to take them out of the bins while in line. Which one is it? Make up your minds.

  • Star

Its much better than other superstores, although its farther than the one we always used to go, but I prefer it as its always well maintained, the staff is active and items are always found in bulk.

  • Godlove Ezeagwuna

Lovely place, the staff are great, paid close attention to their customers concerns. I had a great time shopping for some groceries which I've made it my number 1 stop shop in Calgary.

  • Michal Zysk

Good store, Recently added new self checkout machines. The advertisment before you pay in selfcheck out is way to long. This place was a solid 5 but the add is a burden on my life.

  • Stephanie Schmidt

The staff are nice but I do have a complaint about the eggs. This is the 3rd time I have bought a flat of eggs and I had to throw out 8 eggs out of 32 because they were broken.

  • Chris Fehr

For once I’d just like to get what I wanted from this store which is NOT burnt cheese buns. Other locations are able to do it why not the country hills/ hamptons one?

  • Paola Quintero

Worst customer service at front. This lady was excellent at being sarcastic and pretending she was not even listening. This is very frustrating for loyal customers.

  • Feng Qiu

Friendly stuff, affordable price, well organized, clean and this is our family’s first go-to grocery store. Only wish is to have more variety of asian vegetables.

  • Aramide Fashola

It’s a nice place. Clean, cashiers and mangers very friendly and helpful too. Only ever came across a grumpy produce guy but who knows, maybe he had a bad day.

Excellent variety of products laid out in a clear and easy to find fashion. Love the ethnic foods section! Self-checkout was well-organized, quick and easy.

  • iRiDontKorw

Got a huge selection here, the store looks well organized and no empty shelves in sight. Plus this Superstore is in a very ideal location too.

  • Mario Bergeron

Great for ethnic food and especially spices. Produce us generally good; you have to go at the beginning of the week for the freshest batch.

  • Rudy Embury

Great store, they have a Walmart style selection, just a bit more expensive. They have this Christmas cereal, I may just give it a try...

  • po wa HONG

They have everthing which i want, love their muffins, taste great and the japan instant noodles are cheaper than other supermarkets.

  • Jennifer Sutherland

Super store is a great market. I can basically get anything I want. They have recently had some great sales. Competition is fierce.

  • Cfree _43

I like superstore for the variety of items. Their kitchen section(utensils, gadgets, linens, flatware, bakeware) is pretty good!

One of the better S.S. in Calgary. Shelves are well stocked and some great deals if you look for them. Nice produce also.

  • Wanda Heater

Found an item that I had been looking for, yeah. Service representatives were great steering me in the right direction.

Many cashiers. You're out pretty quick. Sometimes the stock is out of different artificials I am wanting to purchase.

  • Meg Rogers

Bought a chicken Caesar pasta salad and 5 hours later I have terrible food poisoning…. Be careful what you buy there

  • J. Tom Parker

Selection continues to go down while prices go up. Choose Walmart instead unless PC Points mean the world to you.
