I am confident to recommend this spa to everyone I know because of the RMT that helped me at the beginning of the pandemic. Her name is Tara. I have visited multiple spas with a series of experiences with a significant number of RMTs because I am very particular about my massages. Don't judge me- I can't help being picky.. haha! I went to the spa knowing there would be more restrictions, and I might not have the best experience with all the rules and the fact that everyone had been on edge. Boy, was I wrong! I was blown away by Tara's energy, her skill, her professionalism and the level of attention she paid towards ensuring I had a fantastic massage. She followed my cues and knew what I wanted without me asking. I still don't know how she managed that. Her communication with me was impressive. I usually have to trade off getting an RMT that is a great communicator for a skilled one, but Tara is the full package. You can just tell that she cares, which truly special. Since the first session I had with her, I refused to see anyone else. Now, because of her, I have had the most number of massages in one year! My body feels amazing!

I had a great time at the spa yesterday - the receptionist was very nice and offered me a glass of water as I waited. I got a registered massage, my RMT is Sue, she is very zen and takes very good care of me. This is the second time I see her and both experiences were great! She was on time, something i greatly appreciate. She is great and I highly recommend her and the spa. I really appreciate the location of this spa, it's perfect for a quick escape during a stressful work day! The only down side, is being downtown as you can imagine there are city sounds now and then from the traffic or old pluming, that said the location is so close it makes up for that! Went to Kent street location with my sister for a massage. Both our first times and overall we were nervous. A very clean, quiet, and relaxing place though. When we got into the room there was soft music playing and dim lights. The ladies who gave us our massages were excellent. So sweet, calm, and made sure we were both at our best comfort. There was never a feeling of judgement and it was an overall very nice space. After our massage we were given lemon water and free bath salts along with some advice on how to stretch and make sure we weren't stiff the next day. An overall excellent experience for my sister and I and we will definitely return when she is back in town.

I had my first massage ever here! Lauren was my RMT, who asked me lots of questions before my massage to make sure that she was targeting the proper areas. The room was nice and dim with music playing. The only downside was that the room I was in is located by the entrance, so I could hear people coming up and down the stairs, as well as the receptionist greeting and speaking to clients. The water jug dispenser kept bubbling every now and then during the massage, which took away from the relaxed ~escape~ I was on. I was given lemon water before and after, and bath salts at the end to soak in at home. Overall, I'd go again!

I absolutely love this spa! I’ve been a few times now for massage therapy and each experience has been perfect. The spa is very clean and welcoming and the staff are all friendly. The ambiance is beautiful, very calming and relaxing from the moment you walk in. My husband and I continue to go back to Leah for our massages because she is very skilled and caters our massages to what we need most at the time! I have had regular massages and pre-natal massages and each time I left feeling great and my muscles had certainly been worked and relaxed. She always ensures everything is just right for a perfect spa experience!

I went here for my birthday and received a seaweed body wrap and additional 30 minute full body massage -- It was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. The heated bed was comfy, the music was calming and overall, a truly relaxing atmosphere. I loved the hot stone massage, especially on my feet which are constantly hurting! I left feeling brand new. Thank you so much everyone at Renu for creating such a great experience -- we came back a few days later and bought a certificate for the same treatment as a gift for my mom. I'd 10/10 recommend this place to everyone. You'll leave with a glow and feel so so relaxed.

Went for a massage with Amanda and absolutely loved the whole experience! Booking the appointment was dead-easy with their online appointment portal. When I arrived the receptionist was very friendly and hospitable, the facility was clean and had a nice, calm atmosphere. Amanda did a fantastic job, it was the perfect balance of relaxing but still working through my knots/stiffness. She was very knowledgeable and gave good advice throughout the massage of things to do on my own time to help alleviate some of my stiffness. All around a really great experience, I booked two more massages with them right away after!

I rarely write negative reviews. Unfortunately, my experience at Renu Spa was very unsatisfactory Even after giving all the details of my pain points, the masseuse just focused on my upper back for 50 mins out of the 60 mins of registered massage that I was booked for Even while booking, the person on the call was unwelcoming. That is definitely not a reflection on the rest of their staff. We were welcomed very warmly and one of the managers (Sheila) was very forthcoming and accommodating. Some people might have a better experience here. Unfortunately, I was not one of them

I always go to Renu when visiting Ottawa, as I love the atmosphere. It’s relaxing and calming and overall peaceful. I have always had awesome massages with great pressure, pinpointing areas of need. This was my first time I was disappointed with the massage. I will give the masseuse the benefit of the doubt, as maybe she was having a bad day, but it really felt like she just wanted to be done and didn’t put any care into my massage. I definitely won’t go back to her, but will for sure still go to Renu, as all my previous visits have been exceptional.

Renu Spa on Kent Street is my favourite massage spot in the city. I've had appointments with Sue and Tara and they're both incredible at their craft. They ask the right questions and learn about your problem areas before starting, and throughout the massage, check in to see if the pressure is sufficient. I also love that after each appointment, they check in to see how it all went and chat through what I need to work on to help with my areas of concern. I appreciate the attention to detail and always look forward to my appointments.

I have been going to Renu Spa for a few years. I like that you have the choice to either call or book online for massage. People at the reception are always very friendly and ask if you would like a a glass of water with lemon when u come in. I usually go there for a massage, I always see the same person and she's amazing for deep tissue massage. A tried a few different massage therapist there and they are all very good. I have tried other services like eyebrow waxing and was always pleased. The atmosphere is calming and relaxing.

I had my first experience at RenuSPA yesterday. It was fantastic. I suffer from a herniated disc in my lower back. It isn’t often I have symptoms, but when I do, it immobilizes me. When my back started to stiffen up, I called RenuSPA, got an appointment next day, and was treated like royalty upon arriving. Leah, in one hour, took care of all my pain. She followed up with giving me homework (stretching program) and took the time to go over it, and properly explain what to do. Great job Leah and RenuSPA! I will be back!!

My friend and I went there for the first time to get facials. We got to do it in a room together. The ladies doing the facials were very kind, professional and very attentive. They had a very realistic approach and did not try and push products on us that we would not use (we both have a very minimal and quick face care routine). The atmosphere was calming and relaxing. My face felt great walking out of there and still feels great the day after. Thank you for the great experience! I will definitely come back.

I have been going to the Kent location for years for the RMT services. This time was the first time i used the pedicure services. I was not disappointed and instead was pleasantly surprised at how good my esthetician was. I also got to use my points that I had accumulated over the years toward this service which was an added bonus. I will use those services again without doubt. I am sorry I had not realized it sooner. They also seem to have specials for this type of service so I will keep an eye out for it.

I had a fabulous hot stone massage by the very talented Tara Jantz. This was my first time at this particular spa and also my first time having this style of massage. What a treat! Despite being right in the middle of busy downtown Ottawa, inside the spa is super relaxing and beautiful. Everything is very clean, the staff were friendly, and my treatment was superb. I would definitely recommend going to this sweet little oasis and I understand now why they have consistently received such high praise.

Masseuse was great. Very responsive and worked the areas that needed the most help. Disappointing on the service side. No change room or offer of slippers and robe meaning I clomped around in my hard sole shoes - rather noisy. Just toss your things on the other massage table in the room. No after-massage shower offered meant I walked 20 mins in the sun with a sun attracting oil on my exposed neck and arms. Oh and the grease-bomb of hair. And the now oil-stained and unwearable shirt.

Simply amazing every time I go here. I've been seeing Leah, massage therapist, for almost two years or a little more now and I can't be happier. Very relaxing vibe and quiet place. The staff are quite lovely and very accommodating and friendly. The services are vast and exceptional. Oh, and if you're pregnant and looking for a massage, you can come here! They have a pregnancy pillow. I highly recommend this place.

This was my second visit to Renu (first was a few years ago for a body wrap/hot stone treatment). The space is clean, quiet and soothing. I came in for a massage and was greeted immediately by a pleasant receptionist who gave me a form and offered me something to drink. Very professional staff and a lovely clean, relaxing space. I am going here for maintenance laser hair removal for my underarms (had them done in Toronto a few years back and just need a couple more treatments), and my first treatment was great with excellent results. Definitely going to save up to get more areas done here. It is priced appropriately for the top of the line laser that they use.

I had a massage with Lauren yesterday. She's great and was very nice to me. It was my first massage so she took the time to explain the process and switched the cream because of my allergies. If you enjoyed your appointment, I suggest that you book the next one right after you pay at the reception as they are very demanded. I enjoyed my experience and have already booked my next time.

I made a reservation for a couple's massage a week in advance. They call me a little more than 3 HOURS before the appointment (they had already been open for 2 hours) to cancel it on the very day. It was supposed to be a special day. They did not even try to accommodate the both of us. Very unreliable. Don't book an appointment with them expecting it to stand. They are flakey.

I really enjoyed my facial appointment! The spa had a warm, relaxing atmosphere. The aesthetician was kind and knowledgeable. She took the time to explain every step of the procedure and made thoughtful suggestions for my skin. The neck, shoulder and scalp massage was also a really great bonus! I loved it so much that I booked another facial appointment for next month.

Anna was amazing!! This was my second last day in ottawa and I must say, loved the facial that I received. Anna is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable . I got a classic facial done by her and she was very knowlegeable about the right products for my skin type. Receptionist was very polite and friendly. Coming back here when I get another chance :)

Had an appointment with Leah for a massage last evening. She was very attentive to my wrist injury that occurred last week and my feet felt amazing after a week of walking tours throughout the city. The epsom salts baggie at the end was a nice touch and I had a good soak after. This will definitely be a go to next time I'm in the city.

Very average spa. I was expecting a bit more from reading the reviews but I found my massage to be very mediocre and it did not seem to help with any of my concerns afterwards. Also the masseuse seemed to massage different sides inconsistently which was a first for me. No major complaints but also wouldn’t recommend a massage here.

I have been going to Renu Spa Urban Retreat on Kent Street since it opened and have loved every service I have received, from mani pedis to massages and facials. It has a serene atmosphere that helps to melt away your tension. All of the staff are very friendly and the aestheticians and massage therapists are top notch.

My massage therapist is great but be forewarned, the space is not accessible. There's a long flight of stairs when you enter to get to the spa, with no elevator. Totally against the AODA. But hey, I guess most folks don't care. I add it to my review because this information/warning is no where on the web-site.

We went for our first couples massage and it was fantastic. The staff was very professional and the spa was very clean and nicely decorated. We went while on vacation and they were probably the best massages we’ve had (we go regularly at home). Highly recommend and we will be back any time we are in Ottawa!

I had a 90mins massage with Tara for the first time in 7 months and it was exactly what I needed ! She is STRONG. There was a last min change to the RMT and the place was professional ala Dan gave a heads up. Loved the whole experience, would definitely come back again and recommend.

Nicollette was amazing! This was my first full body massage, and my first visit to this spa. Nicollette was very kind and made me feel at ease. She worked on areas I had pointed out from a lot of tension in my shoulders and upper back. I left the appointment feeling much better!
