I rang on Monday 7th September to book for Saturday explaining I understand the guidelines are for 6 to a table but could we have one for 7 and was told this is not a problem. On Saturday I received a phone call telling they can’t accommodate a table of 7 due to the government guidelines. I explained that your colleague who took the booking agreed to cater for 7 despite guidelines and the late notice was not appreciated the manager did not apologise and was abrupt. She said if we wish to have the booking we will need to separate tables and split our group 3 at one table and 4 at another table, due to late notice I had no choice but to agree. The Prosecco glass my friend got had red lipstick on it which is worrying considering you would expect everything to be cleaned properly with the covid pandemic. On the two cheese plates, the crackers were stale on both. The peppercorn sauce was forgotten about for all our ribeye steaks, which we pointed out but we were nearly half-finished at that stage. To add to all this the manager who I spoke to on the phone earlier was our waiter and was abrupt and rude and not friendly at all and lacked customer service skills let alone management skills! When the bill arrived we noticed a service charge of nearly €50 ! Well it couldn't be for an amazing service or that we were a table of 6 or more..... We asked for this to be removed only to be told cause where a booking of more than 6 (even though we're split over 2 tables) this is why its applied and the company policy is it cannot be removed ! The manager started shouting and saying "how disgraceful to ask us to remove it during covid" and insisting she wasn't removing it as company policy! There was such commotion even the kitchen staff put their heads out to see what was happening. Eventually she agreed to remove it and told me she would never be taking a booking from me again ! I've never been so rudely treated and never thought I would be shouted at by a manager, just an awful experience all round definitely ruined my Birthday celebration.

Profoundly disappointing brunch visit. Starting with the blend of coffee, distinctly acidic and definitely no "Illy" (used on the other hand by Andersons Creperie just down the road and making for a far superior experience overall both for its quality and surprising economy). Adding insult to injury my double espresso was served in a cappuccino mug. I've never had this happen to me before and am still in hindsight confused at the waitressing choice. Bearing in mind we had three brunch dishes, the food is fairly overrated (and overpriced). We had two Eggs Florentine (one with an additional side salmon) and the Healthy Option. The eggs were actually quite well poached and the brioche not particularly sweet but it was all SWIMMING in a poorly reduced hollandaise sauce that overwhelmed the remaining ingredients entirely. The flavour of mayonnaise stayed on the palate long after having done with our meal, despite attempting to rinse with a second espresso and water. I'm told the Healthy Option was up to expectations. While poorly plated, it did look like it would have been the better option. It's a shame as the locale benefits from a sophisticated yet unpretentious aesthetic in a prime location in Drumcondra village but it is definitely more eye-catching than actually comfortable. The service, while prompt and welcoming, was nothing out of the ordinary. A very poor experience. Andersons, Petit Breton and The Cloud (on Summerhill) would've made for a more satisfying way to spend a rainy afternoon.

I won’t visit again or recommend this place. I came today to the restaurant and ordered the salmon with salad and I found a short black hair while I was eating. I couldn’t eat anymore I felt sick after taking the hair a side to tell to the waiter. When he came to ask how was the food we mentioned that was a hair on my plate and he apologised offering a dessert. Usually the restaurant won’t charge for when something like this happens. This dish was around 26 euros and didn’t worth it to be honest. They charged us for the full price of the dish at the end. They could have only charged the half of the dish as I couldn’t eat anymore after this experience. We also ordered fish tacos and about the flavour wasn’t really good. They charge around 26-28€ euros for this dish with 3 small fish tacos.

I had dinner here with a friend on Saturday afternoon. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The food is top class. I had the cod starter and the seabass main - both were excellent, both in presentation and in taste. I rarely eat dessert but we were so kindly allowed to spend hours lingering over our wine that we eventually shared the 'cookie' dessert. Oh my, this was everything a dessert should be - warm, gooey, caramel-ly - utterly delicious, we practically scraped the skillet clean! Service is wonderful - each member of staff was warm, welcoming, engaging and clearly enjoyed their work and their customers. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return.

I had a really lovely meal with a close friend last night. We shared the Mezze Slate for starter. Fresh bread, lovely selection of tapanedes and raw accompaniments. Beautiful presentation. For main I had the excellent fish tacos. Delicious! My friend had the salmon salad…equally good. Service was attentive and personal. Nice discussion about the provenance of the artistic Delph. Two gin and tonics and two glasses of red wine - total bill to include tip €110. The only very slight issue was the table beside us was quite loud but this is not within the control of the restaurant. I will be back next week with my husband to sample another dish from an interesting menu.

Great local restaurant with some of the best food on the Drumcondra strip. Charging €3 for the tap water a bit unusual. Here again recently and still the best food in Drumcondra, with great attentive staff. But this time the bill arrives for a table of 4, 2 kids 2 adults, with a service charge of 12.5% at €21!! Ouch! Would normally expect this for a group booking, not a family meal. Ok costs have gone up I appreciate that but so too have the prices on 104s new menu. But extra12.5% for a table of 4?! Another peculiar and expensive charge. We usually tip but when we saw the service charge we didn't so are the staff loosing out?

  • rebecca bujor

The food was nice, loved the mussels, the linguini was not too flavourful but it was decent. The waiters forgot to bring almost everything to the table, brought the food out at different times and gave the wrong food to the wrong person, we had to ask for cutlery and water. The bread and butter came at the same time as the meal which was a surprise as most restaurants normally bring this first with water before anything else. But overall it was a decent experience but I won’t be going there for dinner anytime soon or for any special occasions. It’s alright for lunch I guess.

  • Benjy

Went for a mid week meal. Service was really good. We ordered two mains and because one of the mains was talking a little longer than expected (although we didn't think so) they came down with complementary garlic bread. Really nice touch. Good sized portions and tasty food. Had two espresso's at the end and a complimentary home made shot with the bill. I'd recommend this place and would go back in the future.

This restaurant is quite small and tables are quite close so you will not have a private conversation. We orders the Filet mignon which was good but not great just good. We ordered champagne from the menu but it was not available so we settled for a different one which was ok, it just was not what we wanted. We were seated in the back room of the restaurant not at the front because we did not make reservation so that was our problem. I think I would have like it better had I sat in the front part of the restaurant. it seemed to have a better atmosphere

  • Cheryl Yohe

We wish we found this restaurant our first night and not our last. It was FANTASTIC. The calamari (but had octopus) was so good my husband wanted to lick the plate and order it again for dessert. Best we have ever eaten. The fish tacos were perfect, as was the linguine with shrimp. The service was incredible and I can’t say enough good things. Not one negative comment. We’re from the US and it beat our favorite restaurant back home. A MUST meal if in Dublin or surrounding area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I was disappointed by my experience. I booked a table of 8 people for a special occasion Back on Sunday the 27th June 2021 . The atmosphere was ruined by the rude head floor staff. She seemed very annoyed and unconvinced that we arrived a few minutes early as she be was getting off shift soon after. One of guests offered to help her move a table and she said no don't it's fine. In fairness the tall Man who took over our table attempted to show a good friendly attitude but by that time I already had a bitter taste in my mouth from the place.

  • Lesley Dickson

Absolutely delicious! Stayed at the Skylon hotel across the street for the last night of my vacation and wish I had more time here just so I could enjoy more of their dishes. I ordered the sweet potato, spinach, and mushroom curry and it was excellent. I forgot to take a before picture of my dinner, but I think the after shot shows just how satisfied I was :)

The restaurant is located right in the centre of Drumcondra and, close to other amenities. The most amazing gentle staff who care about the people who come in to taste their food. And the food is excellent, and they are masters in preparing sea food. I've been a few times now and this weekend? my favourite new time to try on their menu was the 'The French Onion Soup'.... and it was just YUM. And their sea food is just delicious.... I haven't tried going for breakfast yet, but i shall...

Honestly, my favourite restaurant in all of Dublin. After a week of visiting this lovely city, we kept coming back to try more and more items on this menu. The Irish breakfast was exquisite with perfectly cooked eggs and sausage crafted from leek, fennel and pork. The proper European coffee was excellent, as well. Dinner was always delicious. We tried almost everything on the dinner menu between us and were never disappointed. The quality of the ingredients and the friendly staff make this an easy recommendation. Not to be missed.

  • Bill Yohe

Amazing food. The best meal we had abroad thus trio or past trios fir that matter. We had the octopus marinara appetizer followed by the fish tacos and seafood linguini. All were fantastic. We followed up dinner with the Baileys Cheesecake. Fabio the manager was engaging and very accommodating. The wait staff were also very friendly. Our only regret was not making this our first place we ate at when we arrived last week rather than our last. Again HIGHLY recommend.

I just came in for a coffee in a take away cup on 9th of July. As soon as I got the coffee, the manager ordered me to leave the restaurant which was disrespectful for me. It's not always about the quality of the food ,it's about the customer experience. I request the restaurant team to treat non irish solo guests with respect. The cappuccino was 5 stars though.

We had lunch on the terrace during the good weather last week and it was lovely. The outstanding point was the service. The waiters could not have been more attentive. I had the fish tacos with lemon sole, very tasty although I was not mad about the actual taco base. My friend had the chicken burger and said it was yum. She followed that with the Crumble with creme anglaise and said it was delish. We received a complimentary blood orange limoncello after the meal too! Very nice.

I've been here so many times, always feel welcome and at home. As far as I can tell, it's a refurbished butcher shop, or at least made to look a bit like that. The food is what I come back for and the staff is always nice and chart if you'd feel like it. Remember to tip them! Other than the food, I'd like to mention that the place is very friendly for kids and I really like their music selection as well. You owe it to your self and your inner foodie to come here.

We've been to 104 a few times now. A winning combination of friendly and proffessional staff, excellent food, and being able to cater for Coeliac, means we'll keep going back (Extra points for being able to fry gluten free items separately to avoid cross contamination). We've been for lunch, and also dinner, and we've also just had drinks outside in the sun. Each time has been a pleasure. You won't be disappointed!

Restaurant 104 has just re-opened for collection and delivery during this crisis and it's a really welcome choice for the area. Menu is reduced but it's great value for when you are tired of cooking. Food was freshly prepared and delicious as good as you would experience while dining in the restaurant. Well done to all involved. We'll be back to you again next week!

During our weeks' stay in Dublin, my wife and I tried a wide assortment of breakfast, lunch, and dinner joints around town. This place is easily in our top 3 places to eat breakfast at, and is hands down the best dinner locale. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our food came fast, was delicious, and was well worth the modest price. Everything was clean, the atmosphere comfortable, and I honestly can't think of anything negative.

Great food & lovely restaurant, staff were friendly, polite and attentive. We had seven at our table including two 12 year olds and everyone loved their food, starters, main courses and desserts were very tasty with good size portions. Kids meals had good options and went down well. A good wine list that covered all tastes at reasonable prices, and a selection of spirits, beers, craft beers and ciders. Will visit again soon

  • Feargal Keegan

Went for a breakfast date here on a Sunday. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very calm and friendly. It wasn't too quiet or cramped so you didn't feel conscious speaking at a regular volume. The food was lovely and the presentation was nice. I would definitely recommend as the menu has lots of choice and the prices are very reasonable.

Hand sanitiser empty at the door. We had to grab the waitress' attention to order even though it was extremely quiet. Myself and my partner both ordered eggs benedict and the eggs were overcooked and hard. The rashers were also very fatty. I also had to go inside to ask for the bill as the service was a bit slow. We were very disappointed and would be hesitant to return.

Fantastic food in a great location. We dined here before a concert in Croke Park and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Went on a Sunday evening. Nice place with a good ambiance and pleasant staff . Food was good but the limited choices of mains was limited further on the day. Expensive , particularly the desserts and automatic 12.5 % added to the bill.

I have been here twice, and food was delicious both times!

Good selection of breakfast/brunch food, from a burger to a traditional full Irish, with clear care given to high quality ingredients. Very limited car parking nearby, but the restaurant is between two bus stops.

Had a very tasty mid morning breakfast in restaurant 104. Lovely guy serving the tables. Very fast service, and very reasonably priced. Altogether delighted.

A nice restaurant on Drumcondra main street. I ordered a chicken burger and chips and was impressed with flavour and hotness of the dish. The staff were also nice and I would recommend
