MAJOR CON: Can't speak for the restaurant but I was at the bar last night with a female friend (skymall sangotedo). we had a late movie showing at 9:40pm so we opted to try out the bar to pass time. We are both females although I'm sort of masculine presenting which I think might have been a problem for some of the male staffs. (Can definitely speak of one in particular). the rough welcome started the moment we walked in and were looking for a seat. (Its a sit-urself kinda bar i presume) the aisle was pretty big, so I couldn't fathom how a male staff (on a white shirt wearing a man purse) managed to aggressively brush pass my shoulder and gave me a nasty look thereafter without even bothering to apologize. We were standing and he was walking past us and then walked right back almost as if his sole purpose was to do just that. We managed to find a seat at the other end of the bar and were having a good time until another male staff (red shirt/facial hair) decided to sit two random gentlemen at our table. I was shocked and asked what was going on as I'm not quite used to that sort of arrangement but rather than explain, he retorted "this is a table for four, don't tell me that!" Like he came prepared. The upside of the situation was that the gentlemen in question knew a thing or two about comon courtesy, so they pulled the extra two seats instead and formed thier own table as opposed to sitting with us as the staff wanted. I mean, we were in the middle of a private conversation for peace sake and the chairs aren't spaced out. Soon as i saw one of the guests pulling the seats, I thanked them for diffusing the situation. But the staff on the other hand wanted to keep talking and I literally asked him to please 'dead' the issue as there was no point creating a problem when there isn't any. We continued with our conversation. moments later, a bouncer came to glare at us for a bit and then left. I'm assuming he (the server) was mad he didn't have his way, so he sent a bouncer to make us slightly uncomfortable. This is a nice spot with a lot of potential although there's some sort of toxic masculinity that pollutes the ambiance. Respect and courtesy were only reserved for the male guest as it seems. and females have chase after thier orders unless there are in the company of a male. Definitely not my favourite roof top experience. I went looking for the fish I ordered after waiting for half an hour (no fault to the lady server she was busy) I ran into the previous male staff on white shirt who somehow managed to be everywhere I was (even around our table). I politely asked where I could find the fish man but gave me another nasty attitude and dismissively pointed me in the wrong direction (didn't hear what he said but it ended with 'na'). I followed his direction but found myself at the opposite end of the bar where ppl were just sitting (no fish there lol). I made my way back to my seat but then a lady opened a grill i had walked past and i found fish. (By the way this was the same spot I had asked him for direction except there was no on by the grill at the time ) PRO: There was a female server (on white shirt/wearing a ponytail) working under extreme pressure juggling between several tables and still making every effort to keep her guests happy. Someone should give her raise cause she's a superhero. She was the only good thing about my experience here. She got a good tip for that ofcourse but homegirl deserves a promotion! In my opinion she's being over-utilized. In a nutshell, great chill spot but definitely not my type of ambience.
