I found my recent experience at Ryde Hospital outstandingly excellent! I arrived by Ambulance very sick and found the Casuality Doctors & Nurses 100% professional, supportive & informative. Transferred to ward 8 after extensive tests and the nurses here were also very caring and understanding of my medical concerns. Due to my presentation I was also seen by all the allied health, physiology, speech and OT. They were kind and considerate and very encouraging when I wasn’t feeling too well. The catering staff were really lovely too, the gentleman taking my order gave extra time to assure that I was given a variety of food on my special diet. The food was really lovely. Best hospital food I had ever had! Then I was transferred to Acute Cardiac ward! Wow these nurses were outstanding! One particular nurse ensuring I was covered and respectable after some emergency procedures. I really appreciated that! Alison McKee was an absolute stand out Nurse! She really went out of her way to look after me and also was very kind and respectful to my visitors! I was under several Dr’s in Cardiac & Neurology departments. They were all excellent in their explanation, decision making and attention to detail. Nothing was a bother to them, and I really wanted to acknowledge to them, that this was so appreciated! Thank you Ryde Hospital, the best hospital, where I was treated like a respectable human being! Much appreciated!

A nurse who told me a stethoscope was just used to listen to the lungs. Another nurse sprouting her anti male rheotic for all to hear. A doctor whose level of care extended to staring at the heart monitor. He didn't even bother to use his stethoscope on check on the heart anomaly I was admitted for ! And as if like a scene from a comedy film....a cockroach on the floor that was seen and ignored by 3 staff until one guy kicked it out through the exit door. , Finally at discharge the doctor told me I'm OK to go and that my bloods were good. The nurse however told me the opposite and that I should " watch my drinking " because my liver wasn't great !!! ( I had 2 glasses of wine while reading a book at home when my heart began a fast increase in beats ) . To be honest it felt like a psychiatric ward where the patients were given the chance of being doctors and nurses for the night. I know nothing will come of this. I've read the numerous complaints that go on to eternity. Further, there can be no doubt that the extreme stresses of the covid era has brought a tsunami of mental health issues to many health workers. Especially front line hospital staff. And this begs the question ; what is being done about this issue ? . My tip is...bypass Ryde Hospital and go straight to the morgue. You'll be safer. . To end on a good note....the ambulance crew who took me there were first class.

  • What a world we live in, wow

Allow me to share my recent encounter with Lawrence Lo Martire, an individual who has undoubtedly mastered the art of defying expectations. Following a crucial meeting, Mr. Lo Martire's unconventional approach to communication left an indelible impression on me. The commitment he displayed to non-responsiveness was, frankly, astonishing. The promise of an email that never materialized served as a testament to his dedication to keeping others guessing. It's a truly innovative approach, albeit one that comes at the expense of professional courtesy and respect for others' time. While I respect diverse viewpoints, it's hard to ignore the implications of an approach that lacks consideration for the time and commitment of others. In a landscape where clear and timely communication is paramount, Mr. Lo Martire's disregard for these principles stands out as a notable departure from accepted norms. If you're willing to explore uncharted waters of unprofessionalism and are fascinated by the concept of engagement through silence, Lawrence Lo Martire's approach might be a captivating experience for you. Prepare to be taken aback by a level of disregard that is as astonishing as it is perplexing. Yours skeptically, An Observant Participant

Accessible for public bus and Uber not so sure about parking area. Location is quiet and not busy. Procedure is a little bit different than other clinics/hospitals as there is no proper sign where to go first. Our last visit was bad as we need to wait for a long long time. My daughter has fever and cough. Initially check by nurse for vital signs and waited in room, doctor came /checked, said that it was a viral infection so no need for medicine but refer to another resident doctor and needs to wait again..ending up giving ice block and ask to get rest and lots of fluid. 1 nurse is rude as we were given wrong patient diagnosis and I returned the wrong one, as I explained to the nurse that the paper given was for other patient, but seems not to understand or not listening to me, another nurse told her that she will take care of me as if I am disturbing them and she look and told me that it is done. I told her, I am just returning to you the wrong patient paper you had given me. Immediately, change her mood and did fake smile. What a bad experience.. 2 hours of waiting for a 5-minute check from 2 doctors. Better to visit near clinics than this hospital.

My experience with Ryde hospital began on a very sour note with the Triage nurse. I had been in a car accident the day before but was only able to make it to the emergency room the day after. Maybe it was the wrong decision to not go to the GP first but the triage nurse unpleasantly made it very clear that I was in the wrong place. When I told her that I had come to the ER without having seen the GP, she rudely responded, “No. This is the emergency room.” I was very surprised and flustered, especially because this was my first time in an ER. She then proceeded to ask me questions in a very sarcastic tone and didn’t even bother to let me finish answering her and just talked over me. I understand that nurses are often over worked and have very long hours but I don’t think it’s fair to treat patients and visitors rudely if they happen to find themselves at the wrong place. People come to the hospital because they are in discomfort and not for more stress and anxiety. At least some mutual respect would be nice for a smoother experience.

Can't say thank you enough !! I used the emergency service at 11.20 pm. They were very prompt and attentive to your concern, they kept their kindness along with the professional attitude. These made me relax so much and felt genuinely cared for. I shouldn't compare but earlier when I stopped by Auburn hospital (which was closer to my place) there were 3 staff, who seemed not interested in patient and don't know what they are doing) and a manager came over and told me to wait for 3 hours. I feel so lucky that I left the auburn hospital immediately and made decision to visit the Ryde hospital ..!! From the reception to the treatment it took about 4 mins. They quickly judged what to do and treated me perfectly ..!! Thank you to the whole Ryde hospital team. I am grateful that there is a great hospital that I can trust as a 'go to' hospital when I'm in trouble. You guys are the best ..!!! (Kind, professional, competent and the whole team works collaboratively and functions to help out patients ==> that's the Ryde hospital ..!!)

This was my 2nd visit. Initial visit I was told fracture takes a few weeks, if not months to heal. Medical certificate was only given for 2 weeks. Why? When I returned last night to ask for medical certificate to cover a reasonable time frame, I was told to leave, and visit a GP, giving the impression that I am to return to normal life and ignore any pending or existing injuries, until it becomes an emergency again. A signature on paper takes a few seconds, and the least courtesy after waiting for 3 hours and travelling an hour with a broken leg to hospital. Without a medical certificate I either have to report to work as normal with 2 functioning legs, arms, ribs and shoulders or get fired after a few weeks of not reporting to work. A trip to GP after half a week of public holidays costs me a whole day's salary to pay doctor gap fee, and half a week of unpaid leave, which wouldn't be required if fracture had healed in 2 weeks with Ryde Hospital magic.

I am very grateful for all the care they have provided to my daughter few hours ago. We arrived to ED around 8 pm and all X ray, twice blood test, urine test and ECG finished around 11 pm which is fantastic and high standard for an ED. Lovely Triage staff helped keep me calm b/c I was stressed then my daughter was seen by lovely Li Yen quickly, efficiently and caring. They all went above and beyond what I was expecting. I work in a private hospital and honestly I know how is EDs situation in Sydney. Ryde hospital (ED) was a great experience with wonderful doctor and nursing staff. Li Yen was so calm and caring. Many Another thing which I wanted to say, I did not have coin to get a coffee from coffee machine. Chris one of the nurses brought me a cup of coffee and a peace of sandwich. Very impressed with and thankful. Cheers Chris We are so lucky to have this hospital with a professional team in Eastwood.

Deserves zero stars. Horrible, condescending doctor, interrupting and dismissing me when i explained my symptoms. He was already shaking his head when i was talking. Feeling so sad and disappointed by the way i was treated, you would hope that doctors will listen and be empathethic but he was so rude and prideful. He said i was I was making a fool of myself when I asked more questions and as i tried to tell him the difference between his diagnosis and what i actually felt. In the end he admitted he couldnt do anything to help. He implied there was no reason to come in the middle of the night because I was scared of my neck pain and difficulty breathing. No one should be treated this way. This doctor shouldnt be working. Judging by the other reviews, this hospital just doesnt care. Dont remember his name, he was a tall, elderly south asian man, working overnight

I just finished work from a hospital & went to Ryde hospital tonight at 11:30pm to seek help for my condition. When I went up to the triage desk, instantly the Chinese triage nurse was incredibly rude to me… She asked what happened to me out loud & I didn’t want to say it out loud in the emergency because it’s an personal issue. She said it so loud that it made me uncomfortable. I work in the emergency at St Vincent’s hospital and my hospital would never treat patients like that how she did. We treat patients with respect & care. I just didn’t like her attitude and customer services. I didn’t want to go to my own hospital for my condition because I didn’t want my colleagues to know my personal life. I left & I went to Royal north shore hospital and they treated me with so much respect and care.

First and foremost we would like the thank all the staff in the emergency and especially the ward 8 department. In what was the toughest week for my family all the staff went above and beyond to accommodate our large family and also taking amazing care of our father. From Maureen to Barbara ,Julia all the day staff and Kevin and all the night staff doctors nurses cleaners and everyone in between. We cannot thank you guys enough for taking care of us from providing us the absolute gem of the thinking room to providing my father to a larger room to accommodate our large family. Thank you guys so much we are forever grateful for providing us with such a calm and beautiful experience with our father. Thank you again from the El-Ahmad family we appreciate you guys so much.

Worst experience of my life. Was sent by ER triage to sit alone in a cold white tent waiting for medical staff to attend to me. No family or visitors allowed to accompany me during the most distressing and debilitating pain of my life. Would like to emphasise how cold the weather is at night. Medical staff were pretty useless in listening to me and they ct scanned the wrong part of my body which I believe made my injury worse. They also were completely untrained and incompetent in transferring me from a wheelchair to the cat scan machine safely. They dropped me on the floor and threw me around on the hard plastic table as they had no clue how to use the slide sheet and transfer plastic. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL AT ALL.

  • Ringo Kelly

Doesn't feel like it's an Emergency Department. The waiting and the triage was very slow. Maybe, they were busy inside but the waiting was unnecessarily long with just 5 patients. We went there around 8.00 and left at 11.00 without seeing a doctor or any procedure been done except triage. They don't consider severe pain as an emergency situation. Taking Panadol on our own initiative helped to reduce pain and so we left. We were not told how long we were expected to wait. I spoke to another patient and they said they had no idea what was the next procedure and they've been waiting too for a while. There was no proper communication and when I asked a nurse, she was very rude. A stressful experience.

  • Martin Horwood

I called Ryde hospital this morning, told them I had a blocked ear and asked if they could help. They suggested I go to the Emergency Department. I did this and received no treatment after more than 3 hours. I checked my place on the queue after 2 hours and was told I had one person ahead of me. After 3 hours I was 4th on the queue! That’s when I left. They claim it’s all about the seriousness of one’s illness. Why then was I advised to go there? And what about the impact being treated so carelessly has on my mental health? Despite getting there early and waiting patiently I received no feedback from any staff as to the reason for my neglect. This was one of my worst experiences in years.

  • Esme Bruner

I was treated terribly by the doctor and nurse on duty when presenting to emergency with very serious conditions. When I received my discharge letter, the word obese was mentioned upwards of 10 times in an attempt to shame me and my medical status at the time. I advised them I had an accident in the bathroom and they didn't clean it for the 24 hours I was there. Divert ambulance to concord if you have any choice in the matter. I was later diagnosed with pericarditis from a reaction to the pfizer shot which they didn't pick up because they couldn't be bothered performing a scan. They also forgot to test the urine specimen they requested and I provided. Idiots.

I went to emergency for my daughter pulled elbow last week. The junior Indian female dr told us she fixed the problem. But she didnt, then a senior Dr come to check and agree with her. We were so frustrating. Becoz my daughter is left handed but she uses right hand do everything and the left hand just hang in there. I dunno why the Indian female dr still try to tell us she is right and push us out of service. After that we went to children hospital in westmead, the doctor only use 10 sec to fix the pulled elbow. shame on you, being a dr without heart. if you cant help, say it out. Dont lies. do your job properly please

I was at the Ryde Hospital Emergency on the 12th May ‘2023 from 7pm. First of all thank you so much to the secretary and to the Triage Nurse who took me in when I said chest tightness. Then, thank you to The Emergency Department staff. Nurses who work there are very very caring, kind and sweet. Thank you to the lovely nurses who looked after me , sorry I forgot the names. May God’s blessings be with you all . Special thank you to the lovely Doctors, Dr Ramya Srikhakollu and Dr Steve Walkers who took care of me. All of them kept me in comfort and stress free. Thank you again and May God bless you all.

Waited 3 hours to see the most unprofessional doctor I have ever had the misfortune to meet. I was shocked by his complete lack of bedside manner. The man was aggressive, rude, visibly agitated and completely dismissive. He brushed off my primary complaint, and then demanded to know 'what else is wrong' with me. His entire demeanour was hostile and he did nothing to alleviate my distress when he made me cry - instead he just said he'd take his name off my chart and walked away. I believe name was Dr. Hassan. He is NOT fit to treat patients at all and should definitely be reviewed for his behaviour.

  • foxtailedcritter

Rebecca Seton promised me banding and cutting off a scar to stop my bleeding. She did niether of what was written down for surgery SHE DID NOTHING but knock me out then not do what was agreed. Then when I woke up said "you will bleed for life there's nothing I will do." After a YEAR of on the wait list she did nothing but sedate me then not fix the problem. Since then I've gotten a second opinion and they agreed there is various options to try. I hope no one ever goes to this surgeon and wastes a year of thier life for pointless waste of time she should have her license revoked. Disgusting.

How this hospital is still allowed to operate is beyond me. If you can not fully staff a hospital to adequate levels that are conducive to the standard of care people deserve, then you shouldn't be open. Staff are rude and dismissive, refuse to answer questions pertaining to your care, and there are cockroaches running around the wards. Considering how quickly people's health can deteriorate, having to press a call buzzer for over 30 minutes for assistance is not good enough. The government needs to take a long hard look at this "hospital" and rework the broken system from the ground up

  • Sogand Majnuni

I want to share my great experience with this hospital, which I did my Bunion surgery, All staff are kind, smily and patience, it's a 1st time I had surgery in Australia- Sydney, such a great experience. Also I would like to mention few names, ( JENNY she is lovely and friendly , as much as I wanted I could call her and she is amazing) WEE, young girl if spelling is correct she was absolutely great and positive energy . And also all Nurses very kind and patience, but I want to mention one of the name which I asked : MARICAR.... I had a great experience ...THANK YOU RYDE HOSPITAL TEAM

  • Allan Lee

Came for a total hip replacement. Without exception the staff were friendly, helpful, caring and good at their jobs. The pre-op procedures were quick and the operation went well. On the wards afterwards the nursing staff, physios and occupational therapists were great and when at one point my heart rate and blood pressure crashed due to an until-then undiagnosed condition, within about a minute there were a dozen people around me running checks and sorting me out. Now I have five weeks of recovery ahead - but feel I’ve been given the best possible start.

  • JonJon Tian

The worst experience ever in visiting a hospital. The first night, we wait 5 hours to be treated and the dr said come back tomorrow morning for medicines and see me again if you still not feeling well. I back on second morning but the pharmacy closed. I checked with the ED nurse that I am still painful and Dr said if in this case I need to see him again. She just so rude and inpatient, I left in the same second and will NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. No one deserved to suffering from disease and rude care in the same time, it’s way over for human beings.

  • Kerry Hong

I visited Ryde hospital today to see a midwife. I was a little nervous as it was my first time to visit Ryde hospital and meet the midwife. As soon as I entered the hospital, the ladies at the front desk welcomed and guided me. They were very friendly and helpful. Staff in admissions (for my pregnancy paper work) were amazingly friendly too! The midwife was fabulous! She made me so comfortable. She definitely helped me remove my concerns about giving birth and stuff. I am so grateful that I can go to Ryde hospital through my first pregnancy!

  • Light Hennich

The wait in the emergency ward is very long if you go here for suspected illness or suspected injury like a broken arm/leg your gonna be here for more than 6 hours. The usual wait time here is about 6 hours but I have stayed here overnight and into the morning (16 hours). I guess a waiting time like this is expected in a very populated area like Sydney. Other than that the doctors are very straight forward and helpful, come here if you want something checked out right away and they will do it ALL here and not just 'refer' you to some GP.

  • Eumin Jeong

Absolutely disgusted by the service that I received in this hospital. No respect given and are treated like a burden and an object instead of a patient. The triage nurse (Chinese nationality, forgot her name) was extremely rude and her attitude was an absolute joke towards our health system. When I got admitted in, the nurses seemed like they didn’t care at all, felt like they were there to just get paid. Overall, I will never step foot inside of this hospital ever again. This hospital is a disgrace to our Australian health care system.

  • Megan Last

Emergency room or the nightmare room? Extremely unprofessional Drs and a very rude male nurse. Racist and unempathetic. Worst emergency experience ever, they disrespect patients and their families. Drs focus on patient's physical appearance, ethnicity and language abilities other than the actual patient's treatment. They are judgmental and unethical. Their emergency rooms are cold, old and extremely narrow, exactly the same as their emergency dr and nurse's mindsets. If you value yourself and family members, never enter that hospital.

  • carol heffernan

I was taken to emergency after a bad fall in a supermarket. Husband went to triage and they sent for a wheelchair to get me from the car. I was immediately tended to and when the Dr came he was thorough doing every test necessary. Staff were friendly and helpful. Having said that the 4 stars are when I was admitted to a 4 bed ward with mental health patients singing out etc and a man was allowed to wander into the ward and steal food. He was from another ward. I was very scared he'd come in when I was asleep as he did one day at 5am.

  • gerard yeo

On the Sunday of a long weekend, the triage nurse was efficient in processing my arrival. Within 20 minutes, I was seeing a ED nurse named Lillian. Lillian was extremely professional, approaching her responsibilities with empathy. She thought outside the square when the standard equipment and hospital stores were unavailable. She reshaped other medical store to fit my needs, sourced equipment from other wards and reworked waterproof skins to protect the wound. A pleasant experience Given the anxiety that was evident when I arrived.

  • xavier thanarayen

I had a get experience with the emergency department. Twice in the same week I ended up there with my very sick 1yr old. They did the best they could to reassure a very stressed parent that everything would be okay and took the utmost care with my baby. Even though they were extremely busy. They found space for us and made sure we were okay. We spent almost 10hours in their care before being transferred and I have nothing but praise for the incredibly hard working staff in the emergency department. Thank you all so much !

  • Zebra Gamer

I may have experienced bureaucratic problems when I last attended the hospital such as initially being sent to the wrong area of the hospital and the service did take longer than expected but I thank the hospital for treating me. The staff may not be perfect but your effort to treat me nonetheless is noted. Thank you for your service to the community. Thank you to the staff who in good faith attempted to rectify the bureaucratic error. For all those at the hospital please continue to serve the community, I thank you.

  • Georgina Madormo

I went to the ED at around 4am, in tears from intense shoulder and neck pain which I thought could’ve been serious. The waiting room was completely empty yet took staff a while to attend to me; The nurse at triage was lovely, however the doctor had the absolute worst attitude towards me. She came back with the senior doctor and upon further assessment gave me a diagnosis and told me I could’ve easily “googled it”. After that, I was told to leave in the most disrespectful way- next time I’ll just go somewhere else.

  • Nick Leung (Flying Panda)

DO NOT GO HERE! I went in struggling to breathe, high temperature and dehydrated (COVID). After my initial consult I wasn't able to get a drink of water or any fluids for 6 hours. I only got a response after calling the front desk multiple times. And I wasn't even contacted by the doctor that saw me. I was given superficial advise and I had to probe to get more information from the other testes I was waiting on. They kicked me out 5 minutes after saying they needed the bed. Completely unprofessional!

  • Ben Easaw

Without a doubt the best hospital l have been to on two occasions in the past 15 years. The entire medical team are to be commended with an A++++ attention to detail and how quickly they saw me on 2 July 2023 morning - in 1 hr. Yes l know unheard off. Thanks Ryde Hospital you really need to know that you are doing a great job. I was inside for awhile so l could see how a number of patients were attended. Bravo Peter Roberts and team.

  • Alastair Agnew

I wouldn't argue with anyone else's personal experience at a given time, in a given part of the hospital. However my own recent experience has been incredibly positive over 5 days including emergency and then being on a ward. Right across everywhere all staff were utterly fantastic - friendly, positive, efficent, caring, professional but human and always explaining what was happening and what was coming next. I can't speak highly enough. Thank you.

  • Selya D

Being a patient at this hospital for the first time, walked in towards the info desk, and my first impression of the receptionist at the front desk “LEANNE” was not good. She was so rude and disrespectful, speaking with attitude and making faces when you speak to her, dismissing what I was saying. As a receptionist myself working in allied health, I know how patients need to be greeted and spoken to, they need to invest in proper friendly staff.

  • Scott Allan

It was a busy night, which was fine. But eventually got seen by a dr. All appeared to be going well, until she didn’t return for 2 hours. I asked another dr and they didn’t know anything, went off and also never came back. Left at 1.30am without being properly seen and forgotten about. Should have gone to Concord hospital. I know the staff are over worked and under paid but it’s not nice to be forgotten about when you’re sick in emergency.

  • Audrey Francis

I came here with my friend at 5am, she was experiencing chest pain and dizziness. The nurses were lovely and tests were taken quickly, however after a CT scan at 12pm we then waited till 4:30pm for the result. We spent almost 12 hours there! While the nurses were nice and apologetic whoever is in charge of radiology doesn't know how to do their job. When we were finally allowed to leave, my friend wasn't even told what was wrong with her.

  • wendy smith

i was holidaying in sydney and could not get into a GP clinic quickly as i was a 'new patient'. i went to the emergency department and received excellent treatment - friendly, caring, professional. several doctors checked my symptoms and i received a detailed discharge certificate, OK-ing me to travel the next day. hospitals have been through difficult times but this one is back on its feet. thank you to all the staff who helped me.

  • hyewon kim

An awesome experience I had at the Ryde Hospital for a day surgery. It was very small but very organised. The biggest asset I could see in this place is staff no doubt. All staff are very caring, attentive and they looked happy. Thanks , Shiyu, James , the male nurse who cannot drink ( sorry did not get your name ), the nurse who was on training, GA specialists, GA nurse, Charolotte, Olga, Amy and Sarah for looking after me today.

  • Shanil Anthony Fernando

If I could give 10 STARS ⭐️ I would do so!!!! Did my Colonoscopy at Ryde Hospital just now. From the time I was contacted and given the initial advice, their service has been so amazing!!! The pre admission clinic, the admission and the procedure were all so professional and the people extremely kind. Truly blessed to have such amazing dedicated professionals looking after our health. Blessings to them all. Thank you so much

  • Viviane Peters

Full marks for the Ryde hospital emergency department, I was triaged promptly then assigned a bed, had all the necessary tests and scans, was treated and discharged after only 3.5hrs feeling so much better when I left. I got the best care possible it was such a positive experience, the best I've ever encountered in an emergency department. The staff were pleasant, friendly, attentive and accommodating. No complaints here

  • Chris Gallagher

Thank you again for the wonderful care given to me yesterday. I was brought in by ambulance after dislocating my hip - incredibly painful thing to do to yourself, to Ryde hospital emergency. The nursing staff, X-ray, orderlies and of course the young Dr Tory all showed such care and professional knowledge it made my stay so much less stressful than it could have been. Thank you Chris Gallagher Beecroft NSW

  • Mr Clorox

Don’t care for their patients at all. Useless staff, doctors are touch and go but basically the worst hospital you can go to ever. They don’t care if you die so long as you’re not dying on their resources or using them up so basically just get you well enough til you look visibly okay to leave once you exit their care it’s all numbers if you die or not. Don’t go they don’t care for you or your loved ones.

  • Chris B

Had to attend the Emergency Department of Ryde hospital earlier this week and I can say everybody I met there did a great job. In particular the registrar Dr Li Yen, the nurse who gave me the Tetanus jab, the radiologist doing the X-rays, also the Triage nurse and reception staff. – Well done, and you all deserve a pay rise for providing world class health care and customer service.

  • Jing Cao

Some of the ED nurses are very inpatient and rude to the patient and families. Poor quality of care. Isolation room is very dirty. A nurse said to us we have to wait for 5 hrs to get a temperature check due to she has so many patients to see. Neglect of care, wrong handover. No introduce to the patient, no communication between nurses and patient. I will never ever go back again.

  • Kaitlyn Brown

The nurses and doctors in emergency are very rude. I was experiencing extreme pain and nausea due to gallstones and was not treated with empathy. The nurses were very cold when treating me. The doctors missed the gallstones on the CT scan initially and wanted to send me home. I am a quadriplegic and needed special care - which I was not given. Very disappointed by my experience

  • Joe Blowe

Absolutely worst experience you would encounter . Hopeless to the core . Time management to them is going as slow as possible having brief chats about nothing with other workers. Said my partner was having an ectopic pregnancy but didn’t do any tests just assumed cause that’s what she had last time. You will find no solice for your loved ones sending them to that insane asylum

  • Budy Widjaya

I went to ED to have my blocked ear treated. It was found the ear wax blocking my ear canal. The doctor on duty told me they don’t do ear wax cleaning in ED and suggest to see my GP. This was during Easter break. No GPs were available. I had ear-blocked for two days. Does anyone know this is true that they don’t do ear wax cleaning in ED? I had to wait 1.5 hours for nothing.

  • Tim Carter

The staff at this hospital are incredible. The kindest and most understanding people you could ever meet. Always trying to make things feel as light and fun as possible during what is a difficult time for the patient. Every person I dealt with during what was a difficult week of emergency surgery, lots of pain Etc. Did everything they could to help and I’m forever thankful.

  • Victor Hew

I was abit skeptic to visit this hospital seeing bad reviews. But after my visit, I realise it’s much better than just 3 stars. From the time we arrive, till we see the doctor were smooth sailing, nurses and doctors were very friendly and patient with us. This hospital definitely deserves more stars. I’m grateful for their services and hard work to get us thru the ordeal.

My son went to Emergency Department on Friday evening 16th June. They did all the tests and a CT scan. It was appendices so he admitted to stay overnight and they did the operation on Saturday morning. Thanks to the doctors, nurses and other staff they were very helpful and nice. The emergency department has a charging station to charge your mobile phones while waiting.

Thank you for the wonderful care given to me. From the efficient addmission process to the professional conduct of all the staff in theatre and the day unit. The staff communicate very well and any concerns I had in regards to my procedure were addressed in such a caring manner. Special thanks to Crysthyll and Martha. I know u will keep up the good work.

The times we have visited Ryde hospital as either individuals or family, the experience has always been positive. I have personally had very great experience’s, along with my daughter who has had exceptional patient care while in the care of staff at Ryde hospital. Thank you to the staff at Ryde hospital for all they do to help the local community.

Had such a good experience when my grandmother was taken here. The nurses and doctors were very thorough and always available for updates. A special thank you to the in house social worker who was extremely helpful and supportive at grandma's release from the hospital. Thank you everyone for doing such a amazing job and keep up the good work!

Would not recommend anyone to go to this hospital. Unprofessional and rude doctors and nurses. Extremely long waiting time. They can do nothing but to waste your time. I really wonder why the government still runs this hospital with this staff conditions. Just shut it down. What a shame for bringing us patients such horrible experiences.

Thanks to the doctors & nurses @Ryde Hospital day surgery for the great care. Despite of small team on the day with tons of workload, they still thorough, compationate and provided high standard of care. The nurse student at the admission done a great job and the friendly nurse who couched the student as well. Keep up the great work!

The worst experience of my entire life. I can’t stress more but only one thing. DO NOT COME HERE. This is not an emergency, if you want to die, you come here. Nurse and front desk person are all super impatient. You wait for 2 hours to get in and check your temperature and they told you to wait for another 5 hours for the doctor.

Very caring and responsible, respectfully Dr, nurse, staff, looking and caring on my health very well. I felt comfortable and satisfying coming to this hospital the Nurse who is called Amber is very caring of my health and kind and had excellent communication. I'd appreciate it from all personnel in Ryde hospital

The worst emergency department experienced. One of the nurses in particular appears to think he's a doctor. Very blase attitude. He was loud and condecending to those who were seeking medical help. Seemed to be more about him than patients. Recommend that young man check the reason he works as a front line medical person.

We are lucky to have a reliable hospital in our community. The wait time is not too bad for busy Friday night and all necessary treatments were given in few hours of arrival. Nurses, doctors and receptionists were all very busy but tried to help as much as they can. Thanks for looking after us when we need it the most.

Thank you to the nursing staff and Dr Kumar who looked after my mum this morning. Staff were Chinese speaking which was very helpful for my parents. Staff were very thorough and diligent with their examinations. Dr Kumar was an exceptional doctor and showed a lot of compassion toward my family. Thank you!

Visited the Emergency Department around 07:00 Pm, 29-Jul-23. Very long wait even though it’s not crowded. Waited for about 2.5 hrs and was told wrong X Rays were taken. Another 30 mins of wait after taking X Rays for the second time and left the hospital, without treatment, as no one turned up. Worst !!

Ryde Public Hospital should be congratulated for their amazing nurses and staff. Although the hospital is old, I could not fault my time in the hospital. At 54 years old and having a bilateral hip replacement is extremely well looked after and checked upon and informed every step of the way.

I wish to commend the professional services of Dr Logan Kanagaratnam, the Cardiologist at Ryde Hospital NSW. I have been under his supervision for the past five years. Excellent, highly knowledgeable and caring. Recommend him if you have heart related health issues.

I was assisted immediately, explained everything and provided lots of reassurance for me and my bub. We were seen by the doctor within an hr, gave the necessary treatment and was discharged 5hrs later. Doctors and Nurses were compassionate and I thank them so much.

  • Dhiya E

I was both at the ED and theatre...all medical staff there were friendly and caring ...even the ladies at the reception. Everyone without exception ...I was impressed with their level of customer service. God bless you all and I'm forever grateful …

  • Y L

Had a day surgery there last week, the nurses and drs are really trying their best to look after me; I can tell the facility aren’t perfect there however the staff are warm and every one really wanted to take good care of the patients.

  • Joy Ahn

People are friendly but the wait time is just unbelievable. Waited 2.5 hrs to be put into another waiting room. If you don’t keep probing them on when they are ready you will probably end up waiting 5 hrs for nothing.

  • jean harvey

  • Jack Jomha

If there is zero star I would chose it, take ur blanket and pillows with you; not much patients and I had to wait over four hours, many people come after me and get diagnosed before, triage person ignorant.

  • Andrew

Close location !!! But could use better planning , as finding wards in a virtual rabbit Warren isn’t easy!!! I look forward to seeing the new hospital in 2 years!

  • Cagla Ghorra

Very rude receptionist, her name is Leanne! First time visit, and she made me feel very uncomfortable. Very rude, and speaks with attitude.

  • Morgan

Great service at the day surgery unit, efficient, well-organised and caring staff. Special thanks to Dr Norton & Jarinya Soieprasounk
