There are a lot of good reviews for Sargeants and I'm not sure how. We had a terrible experience and would not recommend them to anyone. They NEVER communicate when plans change, tell you lies, and are very unprofessional. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We got a quote from them in January 2022 and confirmed we would have our roof, soffit, fascia, and evaes done that summer. We had to call three times to book and secure a time. The person who answers the main number had no autonomy and could only tells us they will have someone else call us back. We finally confirmed a date for May over the phone and paid our deposit. They never came. We called and were told we were never on the schedule. The owner then called us and said the team just had to finish another job and would be there later that day. They never came and they never contacted us about it. We had to follow up. A crew finally come two days after our scheduled day. This was frustrating because we had other work booked to coincide with our roof replacement and had to manage this delay. However, the crew was not Sargeants. It was Galindos Roofing. Our job had been subcontracted out despite the previous assurance that they don't use subcontractors. They didn't know they had to do the garage, remove an old chimney, and attach the bathroom exhaust hose to a new gooseneck vent. We had to be there to tell them everything because Sargent's didn't share any details of our quoted work with them. In the end, they never connect the bathroom exhaust hose. Another person from Sargent's came back to do, but we had to redo it because they had installed the cover flap backwards. They finished the roof in one day. There was no communication on when the eaves, soffit or fascia would be completed. We had to follow up and were told in a very condescending tone from the owner that this work would be scheduled later. Again, we were never told this. They said they call us the following week. They never did. We had to follow up. This job was also going to be subcontracted out, but because of a staffing challenge with that contractor this work would also be delayed. We were told they'd contact us in two weeks to book a time. We had to reach out again to get this booked. In the meantime Sargent's owner requested that we pay then for the work they had done so far. We refused and shortly after they sent their own Sargent's crew to complete the job. This still took several weeks as they were also working in other jobs. I believe that if we paid them they would have never come back. The roofers had to return twice and ripped up shingles because an underlay wasn't installed correctly. Overall, the work looks good, but we have doubt about the long-term quality because of all the issues we had. It took over a month to get everything completed. We were also shown in the quote that there would be a drone fly over to show how well the roof was installed. This never happened. One year later, we haven't had any issues with the roof, but I don't believe we would have any support from them if we did. Long story short: do not use Sargent's and never pay a roofer a dollar until all the work is done.

UPDATE: A small piece of my original flashing that had to be reused when they replaced my shingles was lifting. I called Joe and within a few hours of talking to him, he was on my roof fixing it! And it was covered under their warranty so it didn't cost me a dime. HAPPY HAPPY. Like I said before Joe you have a customer for life. August 2021: Sargeant's Roofing & Exteriors is an Albertan company with very strong ethics. They are reliable and honest. If you need new shingles, this IS the Company to call. I can't recommend them enough. I did my research and contacted 2 other companies - they beat them hands down!And they stood by their original detailed quote, not charging higher. They actually charged less because some materials was factored in but not required. Now that's honesty! Their teams are amazing, fully insured and very professional. When they left I could barely tell they had been here except for the sight of my beautiful new roofs. The roofers work together as a cohesive unit, it was quite something to watch. It was amazing to watch them in action on all my roofs but especially the 12:12 pitch! Mountain Goats! And they provide drone pictures which are amazing and such a great use of technology. They were all fantastic to work with, professional, polite and their services very affordable. And I may be aging myself, but I was happy to receive their senior's discount too. My 111 year old gal now has a new hat with new ventilation, new fascia and new gutters and I know she likes it. And I'm very happy to say that NONE of the original wood had to be replaced! I had the funds set aside and the quote included the wood, just in case, but Sargeant's was honest enough NOT to use those funds on unnecessary repairs and adjusted the quote before payment. Joe Sargeant told me that I am their client for the next 10 years because of the warranty, but based on their honesty and work ethic, I believe I am their customer for life! Kudos to you Sargeant's Roofing & Exteriors Ltd! You make Alberta proud!

We couldn’t be happier with the work that Sargeants Roofing and Exteriors has done for us. We recently needed our roof replaced and Joe Sargeant walked us through the entire process making his company an easy choice for us to use. Victors and Rubys crew he brought in was a large crew of over 12! They were friendly, efficient, communicative & FAST!!! Side note: We were extremely pleased they didn’t appear to have any smokers on this crew. They also did such a thorough job of cleaning up afterwards! From start to finish, we ( us & our 3 dogs) and our home/ property, were treated with respect, dignity and honesty. If you’re looking for a roof, you will not find a better company than Sargeants Roofing and Exteriors. We are looking forward to using this company in the future for some of our other home exterior projects. We have an extremely large roofline of over 180 bundles. They could have easily completed our home in one day as they normally complete two homes per day! They ended up buttoning our home up nice and tight when the weather unexpectedly changed and we got rain. They covered up anything exposed, and shut it down for the day and came back the next day to complete the work. So if you’re worried your home won’t get done in a timely manner, this team is the one to choose as they will make it happen for you.

Two years ago I had contacted Sargeant's for a quote on my roof, at that time, the pricing between them and 2 major competitors was within a few percent, but the service Sargeants provided far surpassed the other two I contacted (response time, overall service, install warranty), so when it was time to get my roof done, it was a no brainer. The prices today were in line with what I expected it to be (given recent inflation). Once I gave the go ahead and provided the deposit, the roof was completed within a week. The crew showed up and instantly went to work in some warmer weather (mid to higher 20s), the house was done that day and the detached garage was over half done, and all obvious debris removed. The impressive part, the next day when they returned, they completed the garage and cleaned, cleaned, cleaned, no debris, nails, etc. left anywhere (replacing roofs is a very messy and hard job), and an incredible looking new roof on the house and garage to last another 20+ years, with an awesome workmanship and manufacturer warranty. I can't say enough about the physical work that was performed (these guys went to town on it) and the service that Joe and his team provided.

We had a rain late on a Friday night when I discovered I had a roof leak in my kitchen. Places were closed at the time and when I mentioned it to a friend he suggested I call Sargeant's first thing on Saturday. Phoned shortly after 9 Saturday morning, explained the situation and was given information on what they do and expected costs. I was okay with what I was told and said to call someone to come take a look. Within a half hour I got call from Jason, the roofer, indicating he was in the neighborhood and could he come by? He was at my place 15 minutes later and not only inspected the roof but showed me photos and explained everything that needed to be done, including stuff that they couldn't do but I should be aware of. I was quoted a very reasonable cost and decided to go ahead. He was here on the Tuesday, as promised and everything was fixed. I was very impressed with the speed of service, professionalism and a reasonable rate to boot! Thank you. Your customer service is awesome.

I just wanted to lay to rest the recent fake reviews circulating in the roofing industry. I personally worked for sergeants roofing, unfortunately, I fell I’ll and had to take a leave of absence. However it was in my experience while with sergeants roofing and exteriors LTD they showed exemplary customer service and quality in workmanship, which as a member of the inspection team I can speak for. I never once saw an unhappy customer during my time with joe, what I did see, though was Joe and the team taking the time to alleviate any concerns and answer questions with prompt solutions and more importantly honesty. There are a lot of companies out there that give this industry a bad name, Sergeants Roofing and Exteriors LTD is certainly not among them! I would recommend this company any day of the week!

Had to replace my roof in short order and was in a horrible rush to find a roofing contractor in Mid-July that could help me out. I called Joe on a Tuesday, Wednesday morning he had a proposal which he walked me through virtually. Thursday the shingles showed up. Friday the crew started and completed the roof in 6 hours flat. Pricing was super fair and quality is superb, despite the speed! It was very apparent that Joe is driven to drive superior roofing services in Edmonton and I would highliy recommend you give him a call when the shingles start peeling back on you! Easy to deal with and very responsive to my needs, thanks Joe!

Joe and his team are absolutely amazing! Very responsive, and truly care about their clients. He was professional, timely, and an all-around great guy! For what I was looking to have done I was definitely nervous about the quote, however when I received it I was yet again super impressed! I had Sergeant's Roofing (Joe) come out and check on some issues I had with my roof. Another company had done my roof 2 years prior and I found I was having to deal with leaking. Joe assessed the the roof found the spots with turned out to be poor craftmanship or lack of experience on the other company. Every detail of required repair and few upgrades were fully explained, the work scheduled, repair done, at a very reasonable cost. great work and very professional.

Very impressive and easy to work with. Joe was very professional and easy going mannerism. I would definitely recommend him for any roofing needs as he is very reasonably priced as well. As for his crew… we cannot say enough about the hard work they put into the project. They had the job done in four hours. Worked non- stop continuously and in harmony. Impressive workmanship! Amazed at the quality and effort they put in.

Taking off a cedar roof is very messy but besides a great-looking roof when the asphalt shingle replacement was complete, there wasn't a shred of evidence left behind of the former cedar- clean up was excellent!
