We booked in for a repair of one split system and a service of a ducted reverse cycle. After fielding multiple calls asking us to bring the booked date forward, I eventually moved some things around so I could be home, only to be told they could no longer make it. Oh well, just a waste of my time so far. On the morning of the service, the technician shows up on time at 8:00am. He checks the split system by undoing eight screws and told me the circuit board needed to be replaced. I told him to go ahead and phone his suppliers. He made two phone calls and told me the circuit board was no longer available and couldn’t be repaired. He then sent a $6,000 quote for a replacement unit and installation. He then also told me he didn’t have enough time to service the ducted system which he was quoting almost $500. For a service mind you. Nothing wrong with it. So after arguing with him about what booking a service actually means, he left within an hour of arriving. $210 to show up but he fixed and serviced nothing. So we booked someone else to service the ducted system, they did it in an hour and charged $250 which is virtually half what Service Today reps quoted. Wait, it gets worse. I found the circuit board part myself within three minutes with an internet search. The boss calls me back after I point this out and offers to replace the board, but refuses to guarantee his work or even being able to actually fix the problem because it could be something else. So what was the $210 diagnosis for exactly? Still going though. I looked up the unit they quoted the installation on and I can buy it for $2,880. That’s retail, they’d pay much less. That means they were changing well over $3,000 installation. Now the wiring/power and plumbing already exists. I can’t see this installation taking any more than an afternoon. For that price, they should be here for a week. So to sum up, if you book this group, expect lies or incompetence, overcharging (by double), unreliability and no guarantee of diagnosis or repair. We went with a recommendation from “Mums in Darebin” after this debacle and the bloke was outstanding. Avoid Service Today at all costs. I only wish I could give them a lower rating. They deserve much less than one star. In response to this, I have been asked for a job number, which is 567083. Latest development: We asked someone else (another recommendation from "Mums in Darebin") to repair the split system. He arrived, spent an hour and a half diagnosing the problems in the unit with a multi-meter. He gave me a list of the problems which did include the circuit board, but also the compressor and the unit fan. He told me he could repair it (and guarantee the work), but it wouldn't be worth it once he added the parts and labour. He gave me a quote for an 8kW Mitsubishi split system, fully installed for $3,300. This was, again, virtually half the price of the previously quoted Daikin installation. The split system unit costs did vary by a couple of hundred dollars, but not the $2,700 difference in quotes. He checked the existing wiring and pipes and said it would be a straight swap, able to be done in an afternoon, which is what I suspected. We have booked in the replacement.

A young man came to check my wall furnace . He arrived on time . Then just stand in front of heater while we tell him it's not working. He turned it on to see if it was or not. Then press the button and turned pilot light off. I then had to tell him how to turn pilot light on again . We told him we had another same wall furnace in the corridor he could use the parts of since we don't use it. He wasn't interested in even looking at it. Told us we would have to replace the whole heater. Then when I asked if he could put a new one instead he said I would faint when I hear the price. I said tell me. He then explained it would cost $6,500- plus installation costs. When we asked if we could get another opinion he said yes but it would cost me another call out fee of $149- and I would be told the same. As I was paying him his 149-00 my husband asked him if he could look me in the eyes with no shame while I paid him. Then I had to sign his tablet in order to get my receipt by email and my husband told him to get out. Didn't phase the boy. I since got a quote from another company who offer a brand new Braemar wall furnace to replace my Vulcan for $3,800- installation and removal of old one included. So I believe these people come to customers , offer ridiculous price for job and collect the call out fee. I initially left them a review for the boss only but no answer to that.

We had issues with our dishwasher blocking and have plumbers to fix it on two occasions. First day was Lucas and his team. They were great, professional and very friendly. Managed to do the investigation and fixing in under 30 mins. Thank you Lucas and team for your friendly service. Second occasion was attended by Craig De Silva. He came the next day, very friendly and profesional he showed us where the blockage is and fix the issue quickly. He went above and beyond to ensure everything is alright and teach us how to take care of it so the blockage will less likely to happen again. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could. He definetely turned things around and put our faith back to Service Today after the unpleasant conversation with the customer service the previous day, which put me off and felt unvalued as a VIP. I believe Craig is an asset to your company. Pros: All the technician/trades staffs that I have come across with are all great. Very knowledgeable and professional. Quick turnaround and always on time. Cons: Quote on jobs is always more expensive compared to others (way more expensive). Customer service is bad, unpleasant, talking like a robot and has no knowledge whatsoever. It gives me a vibe that all they care about is sucking you in and taking your money.

A terrible experience i had with service today. I booked them to fix a buzzy noise which I recorded on my phone and showed and listened the sound the technicians that service sent to us. They did wrong treatment and replaced TRP and Anode which was not required to fix the issue. They did not find the actual issue rather they were focused to make money and replaced TRP and anode which costed me around $750 where the parts itself costs around $100. They also offered to replaced more parts which was completely irrelevant and luckily I did not accept their advice. I waited to see the issues of buzzing sounds come again. One day after I heard the same sound when it was very cold night. Then I lost my confidence on Service today and I called Rinnai and they sent plumber and came and instantly realised it is because foster valve in solar as hot water has solar system and straight away then went to roof rather checking the hot water unit. Because they found the real issue as they are expert on this. They fixed within 30 mins and left. After that there was no buzzing issue. Never recommended this company as they are focused to make money not to fix the issue. Please avoid this company and they just incurred my costs unnecessarily.

I requested for a quote over the phone, but I was told no way they could provide an indicative figure. It was urgent but simple kitchen blocked drain issue, so I booked them. I was charged $49 call-out fee without any service, not any inspection. I was told inspection needs camera which cost money, not included in call-out fee. Then told me it would cost $1499 to unblock the drain, I was shocked... Totally speechless. If they could tell me a figure close to that, I wouldn't ask them to come at all. How can it cost so much for a simple job like this? But I had to paid $49 for nothing. Later I engaged another plumber to fix the problem, took 20 minutes, only cost me $300. I'm wondering if this is the way they are making money by over quoting? Just turn up and collect call-out fee. Check the review, this thing not only happened to me.

We had 'Service today Melbourne' come out to chk and if necessary service our central heating unit, the unit is getting a bit old so we want to make sure it is still operating properly. Sam, the technician that came out to do the job was excellent, he pulls no punches and tells it as it is, and what may or may not need to be done. Sam suggested to do a carbon monoxide check, but it was up to us if we wanted him to do it or not, and it's just as well we did, because the old unit was putting carbon monoxide into the house when being used. $50 call out fee. Spoke to someone on chat and asked if the call out fee includes finding out what went wrong. Asked to pay $195 on top of the call out fee which was not outlined in anyway by Service Today at the time of booking. Very very shady tactics On top of this they quoted $3000+ dollars for a new apartment hot water system when compared to other companies is a complete rip off when everyone else is HALF the price. The unempathetic tradie didnt blink an eye when I mentioned that not everyone has 3k lying around. As I am writing this.... the tradie has decided to spam my inbox with the one invoice. HOW UNPROFESSIONAL! Refused to invoice before I paid and refused to leave after asking them to leave the apartment. This is one of the MOST horrible encounters with a trades person in my life.

My water heater broke down, I was at work at the time so my wife called Service Today. One of their plumbers came out and quoted us $4500 for a new water heater installed. When I complained that the price was too high the response was "we do payment plans". So we said no thank you, I called up another plumber he came out told me. Ok this is a 170lt gas water heater I would recommend Rinnai. So the next day it took a lot of phone calls and internet searching but in the end I bought a 5 star Rinnai gas water heater for $1300. The plumber came back installed it for $300, it took him 45 minutes. All up it cost me $1600. I'm not sure why Service Today is quoting so high $4500 but I'm glad I didn't accept their quote. This was my experience with Service Today.

On Friday Craig came to asess our hot water tank to determine if we needed a fix or new. Craig was professional, honest helpful, and again a nice person to deal with, very thorough and helpful with what we needed, thankyou Craig. Worst experience ever. Let them replace my old ceiling heating system months ago. Those young boys made me feel they are just not professional: leaving the old unit on my roof, no heat coming out from one of the vents. Had to call their office to fix these problems one by one. wasting too much my time. Even after fix, the heat coming out from that vent is weaker than others. Recently found roof leaking, broken tiles, communicating to them, their customer service officer sent me a wrong and blurred photos to prove they didn’t damage any tiles, and blame it all to Melbourne crazy weather and my old tiles. This officer got the same problems of those boys: careless , not professional. Not recommended.

Service Today is an excellent company to deal with. Their receptionists were cheerful and efficient; the initial assessor was courteous and competent and the electricians who installed the induction cooktop worked well as a team and everything was cleaned up after they had finished. They presented a very neat reorganised electricity board and explained everything concerning the rearrangement of the circuit and which switches were involved and what to do should anything be untoward. A demonstration was given of using the induction cooktop. Lovely work and thank you all very much! I will certainly be recommending you!

Rang these guys at 7.00am expecting no answer. A nice lady answered. She took all my details and said a service person would ring in 10 minutes. In about 5mins Lucas's rang said he would be at my place in 10mins. In 10mins he arrived. He looked at the heater and clearly explained all my options. I chose to go with a better heater. Everything is done via an Ipad. He did a quote and in minutes it was on my phone. He left to pick up the water heater. Was back in half an hour with it and before 10.00am that same morning it was installed. The installation was very neat. Outstanding service from Service Today and Lucas.

We booked an electrician to change some light bulbs. They arrived and gave us a quote of over $800+ to replace four (4) bulbs, which we found too expensive. We decided to cancel the job and requested to pay the $49 call-out fee . We asked for an invoice, but instead of getting one, we started receiving persistent phone calls asking us to provide credit card details over the phone for the full amount. This made us uncomfortable, as we expected a more standard and professional invoicing process. We hope they can send us an invoice so we can handle the payment properly.

From the initial call to job completion, the service is exemplary! I was very impressed with the professionalism of the lady who took my call to book a service. We had burned switchboard and power was cut off over the weekend, we call the company on Sunday morning came on time and gave us quotes, then on Monday we have the crew come and removed the burned unit and built new on in very quick and professional work, called the power company to organise reconnection to the grid, within 2 hours of the crew leaving we had all our power back. Electrician came on site and quoted $1400 for a job that I later got done by another company for $325. I expected they’d be a bit more expensive than other companies but that is a crazy markup. Processes a bit broken: I booked via the online portal, but then had to repeat all the info over the phone. I’d booked for early morning, and got a text message saying electrician would be there at 7am but then turned out he was scheduled to visit in the afternoon- a bit frustrating.

I would highly recommend these guys. From the lady that took my call in the office to the guys that came out to install our new heater. Rye came out to look at our heater issue and spent the time discussing our options. We decided a new one was the better option. They were able to organise this in a few days. Which was great. I will give them credit that their communication is great but they could not fix my lighting issue. I spent $500 for no outcomes and then they wanted to charge me another $2000 to fix the issue. I called in another company and it was fixed in 30 mins for $80. The money I would have spent would not have fixed the issue so I am glad I did not go ahead with them. They have junior staff not experienced in fixing issues

Had a blocked sewer. Line was about 90 to 100 years old. Travis, Ken, Luke and Mario were consummate professionals (and personable blokes) determining the extent of the damage and what was needed to remediate the problem. Relining was chosen and although this job was awkward in some ways due to the pipe system and damage they successfully relined the appropriate sections. Very happy with the service and result.

Charged me for a visit, didn't do anything, provided me with outlandish estimates. Came to repair hot water system, quoted 1200$ for a repair that might fix the issue, also quoted 3000$ if a fix doesn't work to replace the hot water system. Similar system at Bunings costs 1200$. Ended up paying the guy from service today 50$ a call out fee and using another plumber that charged 250$ and fixed the system.

I have used this company three times now. First call out. Fantastic! However since the first call out the A/C unit has stopped working again. Since then there have been two call outs. A couple of years ago, we had a blocked line in our underground sewer pipes. Service Today called, made an assessment and quoted $40,000 to repair the line. This was too much not to get a comparison price and we got the work done with another plumbing service for $2,800. I felt I was being taken advantage of and will not use this company again.

I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service provided. An electrician visited and billed me $250 for a 10-minute inspection during which he didn't perform any actual work.

They were, friendly, very professional, explained what they were doing and provided a quote before starting works. Great company, good service, on time, a job well done.
