Big rip off for a banquet! Such small serving size for a minimum of two people?? Listed it stated $45 minimum of two people eating, with the small portions I didn't expect it to double to $90 which I believe should have been stated if so? I've attached a picture of one of the "mains" for two for reference. When I tried to bring this up the service was horrendous the owner when questioned about serving size immediately started raising his voice saying this is how it's done in Australia "how long have you lived here' (mind you I have lived here my whole life) The wait time took over an hour. We also ordered Peking duck, the team continued to wrap them (with their bare hands touching the wrap) even when we stated were happy to do it ourself as my mum can't have too much of the duck sauce due to her diabetes. Updated; We definitely understand it was for two hence why we order the FULL size Peking duck to go alongside it, between the soup and the mains we waited a full hour with still nothing served, I saw previous reviews about the wait time and service but really wanted to give this restaurant a chance rather than driving out to the city for Peking duck. I definitely would caution future customers about this, portion size and the owners customer service as he continuously talked over anything I tried to say. In addition, as mentioned previously we did speak to the team about wrapping the duck ourselves however they insisted until my mum persued it for the third time.

I must be missing something. This place isn’t as good as the reviews. Food was tasteless. Service was terrible. Took an hour to get entrees and then another hour to get mains. One main came out after we had finished. Wasn’t that busy. First time there and the last. Sizzling prawns $30 for 10 prawns and a little bit of carrot celery and onion. No sauce what so ever. Very tasteless. Entree I had prawn toast. Mind you it was very nice but one prawn toast for $9.00. Not worth the money. I’m sure there are better places to eat. I asked the waiter what was taking so long for the mains he said all the chefs were on a break. Are you serious. Don’t even bother with the fried rice it’s terrible.

First time here. nice old school feel where seating is so tightly packed youre almost sitting with the next table. Food was good. averagely priced. each main roughly $20+ but we ordered oneof the banquets. entres were spring rolls and chicken soup. nicely done. decently flavoured. the meat dishes were cooked well and full of flavour. i love sweet n sour pork and there was a sweet without sour but still nice. more like a honey chicken. the rice was super bland but ok when you eat it with the other dishes. garlic prawns were fire explosively good flavour. desserts were ok. deep fried choc+ice cream and banana fritter with ice cream good but dont put sprinkles on it. it ruined it. banquets were decently sized and we will try the big banquet with the lobster in it next. Thanks we will see you again.

OMG The worst food I have ever eaten. Spent $81 odd dollars for it and we didn't eat it. Dogs had it for their dinner. The chicken and veges and the beef and veges were bland and tasteless. The sauce was white which was the cornflour to thicken it. The chicken and beef were boiled. There's no way they were fried as the the chicken meat was nearly white. I paid for extra cashews but there wasn't more that what would have been there. The lemon crispy chicken was a shocker. The skin was thick and doughy. Nothing crispy. The sauce was whitish, once again the obvious over-dose of cornflour. The batter on the chicken tasted like fich and chip batter. Horrible taste. The fried rice was tasteless too. Not much in it and mainly just rice. The dark soy sauce tasted like molasses. Honestly, EVERYTHING was disgusting

Ordered Mongolian lamb, advised veggies in there, got home to eat, hardly any veggies in there - lamb super tough with a weird aftertaste to it which tells me it isn’t fresh, in all my years of eating this dish I have never complained except from Silver Chopsticks, spring rolls were super oily and fragile, all fell apart when I took my first bite as it was overloaded with too many things on the inside that didn’t even have a nice taste - portion of the lamb was in a small container however they charge you $18 for it - what a serious rip off - never coming here again and I recommend to anyone who loves Chinese - steer clear from from this place unless you like being dissatisfied after spending $40 and still feeling hungry at the end. If I could give it a zero rating, I certainly would have!

Been here 2 times for take away And the past 2 times I didn't mind the food But since the idiots have ran a business for soo long and can't change their times I have found a MUCH better place down the road that open and serve you before they close. NOT turning people away 30 or 45 minutes before the stated time you close. SOO Silver chopsticks pretty much is closed hour early to what is on the door and on here and when you call. And there excuse is nobody orders late And when told to change their times The guy looked at stupid and said they don't know how to. What a waste of time driving 20minutes to come here. WOW! Don’t sleep on Silver Chopsticks. I’ve been walking past but today we bit the bullet and tried it for dinner. I couldn’t be happier. He most friendly and helpful staff and I’ve had possibly the best vegetarian spring rolls and honey chicken of my life. We’re already planning what we’re going to try next time we come. Don’t mind the half eaten dishes, we got too impatient to wait before I took the picture.

You’ve heard the saying don’t judge a book by its cover. This definitely applies here. I was worried at first from the outside but once inside totally different atmosphere. The smell of the food was incredible. Ordered a few takeaway dishes and loved how they prepped it with dishes that are usually soggy from soaking in the container on the drive home are separated. Very generous portions with more meat then vegetable ratio. And the Prawn crackers were a huge bag as well. Pricy for drinks so I’d recommend making sure you’ve got a bottle of soft drink at home or you’re dropping into Woolworths. Can’t wait to try more dishes from here.

Friendly enough service. Food was good. Reasonably priced. Place seemed popular enough with a fee people going in for a sit down meal. The location is not too bad as not in the main street but plenty of parking available. Just make sure that what one is charged is what one pays for as I was charged one price and ended up paying $1 more (noticed the charge later, on statement). Overall, worth a try.

We got take away from silver chop sticks tonight. We usually go to master wok but thought we would try a albeit cheaper alternative. The food was not what we were expecting. Spam in the fried rice, oyster sauce was more like gravox. We ended up with more than half of each dish left which was thrown out, deemed unsuitable for leftover lunch....... After being advised 25mins and waiting an hour it was quite a disappointment. Next time we won't go the cheaper alternative. We apprecaite that there will be many who enjoy Silver chopsticks flavour palate, we do not.

Massive thumbs up to Silver Chopsticks. We had our daughters 21st birthday lunch there today and they were fantastic!! We were a party of 26 and Vin and 1 waitress served us without any issues, the food was delicious (as always), and service was friendly and spot on. Definitely give them a go, even short staffed their standards have never slipped! Keep up the great work Vin, we'll be back

Most people only write a review if they don't like the food or service or whatever - seems typical. Well i moved from Werribee to Ballarat and every time we are in Werribee - straight to silver chopsticks for the best Chinese anywhere. Cannot find a better tasting Chinese food . Have eaten Chinese food all around Australia and this is the best - hands down. Don't pay for speedy service or free prawn crackers or soft drink. I pay for good quality , good tasting food and that's what we always get.

Mood setting is great for couples, clean and tidy. Food presentation is above average. We ordered the banquet for 2. 2/3 main dishes were not to my liking. I did find it slightly odd as there is care and attention given to food example prawns properly deveined etc. However the pork and beef tasted bad. Beef nice and soft but ruined by the sauce. Same goes for the pork. But overall experience was good but the food not so much coupled with their price, produced a 2 Of 5 from me.

I ordered a tom yum soup because I can never go past tom yum. It wasn’t tom yum. It was more of an asian take on minestrone minus the beans, parsley and pasta. Weird. The chinese food was tasty... pork & plum sauce was salty. Overall, it was good. The serving size was generous and value for money. Silver chopsticks isn’t a frequent haunt for me so it’s not a place I would go unless the in-laws vote for it. Nothing wrong with it... I just prefer other places closer to home.

Staff and the service was good. Nice ambience. But, food was tasteless. Will never go again. Total rip off! We had Singapore noodles, Fried rice with chicken and salty fish, and mixed vegetables with bean curd. Noodle was so plain with small pieces of pork and some ham, shrimps and egg. Rice was alright compared to the other 2 dishes.The vege dish was so blan. No salt, pepper nor any spice/herb was added in it. Who can eat such tasteless food that is so expensive??

Price on window menu and actual price vary greatly. They have a menu on their window. Prices looked good ($14-15 for mains) buy when I sat down to eat the price was $20-24! I don't know if it's take away and eat in price but that's a massive increase and felt very deceptive. Indoor atmosphere felt basic, like a cheap eats joint with premium prices so won't be going back here. Food was good but price is deceptive.

The worst Chinese that I have ever had. Most of us were sick all night. The food was so far below average. I think we got people's left overs that ate at the restaurant. The satay chicken was more like soup, it had no flavour. I should have stuck to my first choice of my Thai restaurant. Big mistake first and last. Fried rice had so much ham chuncks in it should have been called fried ham box. No wonder it's in some dark alley street. Should never be found.

We've always wanted to try Silver Chopsticks. Sad to say it was disappointing. Mongolian beef was so bland and little to no veggies yet they will charge an extra $3.50 if you only want meat... It was all meat anyway. Chicken with Chinese sauce was nice but again no vegetables. It was quite pricey in comparison to other places and good was not as nice unfortunately. Owner and staff aren't very friendly.

Just what I needed! Don’t judge the decor. Usually the worse the decor the better the food. Found the place on google And that would give it ago. We ordered the cashew chicken and honey chicken and special fried rice. Randomly the honey chicken had cashews in it, which was actually nice. The food was made quite quickly. We had takeaway. Decent serving size. The food was quite delicious. I’d go back again.

Had our mothers day lunch at this restaurant last Sunday. Place is nice and cozy with ample parking spaces. Staff were disorganized a bit and mains came to the table after 2hours wait. Mains were good, specially the Peking duck. Unfortunately one of my cousins found a hair on her banana fritter. This could have been a case of being really busy, however this has impacted the overall experience.

Place was extremely busy. Ordered Char kway teou which was lovely. Sweet & sour bbq pork did not enjoy so much. King prawn and Chinese sausage rice very average. Sate beef, beef was nice and tender but bland. Singapore noodles were not the best. Their home made dim Sims were delicious as well as sesame prawn toast.

Absolutely love the food, it is lovely and always nice and hot which is great. Unfortuantley to get great food obviously you need to be patient as the waiting time was quite long -1/2 -2 hours on both occasions that I have dined... I think at this point if I am not in a hurry, I am going to wait it was wroth it in the long run. Maybe this could be something for staff to look into.

Delicious food but the service isn't up to scratch. You don't get free prawn crackers with a takeaway, and they don't give you a free bottle of soft drink if you spend more than $X on a takeaway like most other places do. The interior decor is very out of date. Location is OK. It's a bit hidden, but it's on the side of a huge car park beside the doctor's and the train station.

The food was quite nice however what really made the experience was the customer service. I had been served by a wonderful tall boy who’s name was Anthony if I remember correctly. He made sure our dinner was still perfect and kept us entertained. If I had cash I would’ve tipped the boy as much as I could, this is true customer service. Will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic experience, even though it was under covid procedures. Food was tasty and delicious. Staff were very busy, but did their best with the covid procedures to provide quick, prompt service. The decor is a typical suburban Chinese restaurant, but that is not a bad thing - nothing over the top, nothing annoying glitzy. Would be happy to go back again.

Not having had Chinese for a long while, Silver Chopsticks seems to get a lot of thumbs up. All I've got to say is you have to be joking!! Special Fried Rice - Average at best, Salt and Chilli Squid - bland, Chinese Broccoli in garlic sauce - Average. And the kicker - charged for a bag of Prawn Crackers after spending $130 ... NEVER EVER AGAIN !!!!

Had a booking for 6pm. Ate main meal at 6.50pm after asking for it. Meanwhile, a table without a booking had all courses and left. Waitress was rude and threw the bill on the table at the end of the evening. When paying, I informed the owner of the poor service and he could not even look at me. Very sad as I went here as a child with my family.

I called them and mentioned if they were opened. The guy on the other end was rude and replied they would have not answered if they were not opened in a condescending tone.. I then said at that time there are restaurants were kitchens are opened late. He ended up just disconnecting the line. Extremely rude, will never go there.

Have come here with family for special occasions and Silver Chopsticks does not disappoint. Food can take a while to prepare but it's definitely worth the wait. Friendly service and extremely generous servings of seafood and meats. Highly recommended. Be sure to make reservations for public holidays or Mother's/Father's day.

Worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant . Waited for 75 minutes for main course . But I did noticed they served a tons load of take away while we were waiting for main course. They should give priority to the customer inside the restaurant first . Typical business method. Lost my appetiser . Not happy at all .

Classic Chinese food, not awesome presentation but pretty yummy. This place has been here for years! I've been in Werribee for over 20 years and it was the same back then! Decor is outdated. Service is usually good and we love the free fruit and the fresh hot towels at the end of your meal. Good takeaway too.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The ingredients fresh and flavourful, especially the seafood, the staff are friendly and attentive. Every time I come here with my mum, it feels like home. I would highly recommend anyone to try out this place if in the area, you won’t find better Chinese food elsewhere.

Love this place, I'd dare say best western style oriental/Chinese food in Melbourne. Just executed perfectly with quality ingredients. Fair pricing. Any of battered chicken or prawns are great, classic old skool Chinese restraunt atmosphere.

This little shop/cafe,has great staff ,and the food is very clean ,fresh and enough of it on your plate,found it over a year ago ,and would visit it every two weeks ,until the virus slowed things down ,will get back to a weekly or two weekly when we open up,,nice clean and polite service,

The place is very clean and cosy, good for solo dining or couples. Prices are very correct and food is really excellent. Curry puffs were awesome as a big fan of those anywhere I go. Staff is really helpful and menu is very complete. Would definitely recommend to anyone to give it a try.

SCAM. What they don't tell you is that there is a MINIMUM fee of $15 per person. Although to be fair, all their food is so ridiculously overpriced...a small bowl of soup is $7-8!! Food isn't even that good. Good thing they don't charge for a drink of water. Would not recommend.

This is a very westernised Asian food. I rate it poorly only because it is not authentic Asian style food. It feels like a bit like lunch box style of food. Well taste is okay. Staff are friendly as well.

I usually live the food-but the flavour that’s usually there wasn’t there tonight. Sorry but it felt lacking. I pay good money and expect quality for that money.

Great food, but stuff us around alot....waited for ever for meals... stuff up order as well. I can't stress how good the food was. Well return for takeaway only.

First time we have been here. We all really enjoyed the food and the service and staff were so friendly and great with the kids. Look forward to coming back.

Very good food, well presented. Staff very frendly. Peking duck was amazing! I will be given 5stars if facade and chairs were more presentable and updated.

Good prices, friendly staff, good food, but not flashy. Appropriate for price point. As usual, happy to put your leftover into a container for later!

Ordered a few weeks back, the food itself was very nice, well worth $$, however just some mega delays in getting said food - all and all worth it

Mothers Day and very busy. Slow to get main meal out and got our soup mixed up with the table next to us. Generally was good and meals delicious.

Been going here for 30 years and it's still as good as always. Very reasonably priced and good size servings. My favourite outing for dinner!!

Great service. Food were satisfactory. We found that the restaurant needed to be brightened up with lights or walls with lighter colours.

Great service :-) Vin is awesome. Food is great too! Tasty and Fresh. And, they do Prawn Cocktail!! Hardly anywhere does them these days.

not authentic Chinese food at all. Too much SWEET sauce and gravy even for a non Sweet dish. Pricy and not delicious Good service though.
