UPDATING MY *FORMERLY* FIVE STAR REVIEW (seen at the very bottom) DO NOT HIRE SIMPLER MOVING!!! **Use the services of Simpler Moving only if you have a lot of money and don't want any broken items paid for after you've paid for their services.** Luke, Stephen, and Sawyer were very polite and easy to work with... while packing my entire place from top to bottom. Luke and Stephen then unpacked everything as requested, putting things where I asked, which did save me the hours of unwrapping all my things, freeing me from breaking down all the boxes and dealing with all the packing paper. Keep in mind I knew going in that I had hired one of the most expensive movers out there, but I had to move very quickly so had little choice. HOWEVER... When I contacted Luke, then later Layne the owner, after I found a broken clock, a ripped duvet cover, and I realized the tape used to keep my earrings from falling out of my earring pocket storage display had ruined it (removal of the tape left a sticky residue I couldn't get off even with Goo Gone) I was IGNORED COMPLETELY. This was after I had written a GLOWING review (which they did respond to, go figure). I included photos of my destroyed items. I even sent screenshots of exactly where replacements could be ordered including each replacement cost. Total reparations only came to $106.19, and I gave the option of ordering the replacements or just sending me a check to cover the costs. Considering I paid them $3,421.80, I can't believe Layne is so cheap that he is SIMPLY avoiding writing a check for so little. Sure wish I could get back even some of the extra tip money I overpaid. It would easily cover the cost of my things. (Initial review here which I now wish I never posted) STOP LOOKING FOR A MOVING COMPANY - THIS! IS! THE! ONE! YOU! WANT!!! I am an extremely picky perfectionist. My story: My former apartment complex informed me I had to move in less than a week due to pipes having burst in my building and they had no comparable apartments available. I hired Simpler Moving & Packing. Three professional, personable, CAREFUL gentlemen showed up with everything that was needed to pack my ENTIRE LARGE two bedroom/two bathroom apartment. They reviewed information with me, asked the right questions, then got started. They were done packing all my belongings, COMPLETELY, with everything on their truck IN LESS THAN FOUR HOURS. Note: I had only packed an overnight bag, a couple of boxes of precious items, and put my artwork in my car. They did it all... ALL my packing. Unfortunately, due to the speed with which I had to locate a new residence, there were some hiccups getting all the signatures on my new lease, so Simpler Moving was only able to unload my boxes the same day. However, they worked with me and my changing schedule. They easily arranged to come back in two days to UNPACK for me! Keeping in mind it was two men this time, instead of three, these gentlemen arranged all my furniture where I wanted them to, unpacked my entire kitchen, both my bedrooms, and my office. Granted, not everything is exactly where it's going to be - I moved from a two-bedroom apartment to a three-bedroom residence. I don't know even know where I'm going to put everything yet, but they got everything in the correct room, and near enough so it won't take me long to rearrange. Trust me - Simpler Moving saved me DAYS worth of work! I didn't have to cut open boxes, unwrap items, break down boxes, and deal with a mountain of bubble wrap and wrapping paper. They did it all! They would have also disposed of all the moving materials had I asked, but since I have a friend moving soon, they organized all the boxes by size and stacked them for me, and even put all the wrapping materials into a couple of boxes as well - neither of which I asked them to do. If you want amazing service that goes beyond a picky perfectionist's expectations, HIRE SIMPLER MOVING & PACKING!!

Had a long-distance one-way move from Chicago, didn't know any moving companies out here so I asked my new landlord if he had any suggestions. "Oh yeah, Simpler Moving, they're the best no question." So I gave them a call and got an 'unload' reservation set up, quick and easy. Good start. The day I arrived I got a call 30 minutes prior--after already receiving a reminder email the day before--letting me know they were on their way. Showed up on time, were very courteous, and asked me numerous questions as I gave them a quick tour, I felt comfortable that they had it all dialed in. We opened the truck and they got to work immediately. It was obvious quite quickly that they operated like a well-oiled machine, working like a seasoned team. And during the unload, I had a good time chatting with them, asked if they had any restaurant or "things to do in Austin" suggestions...I had a hard time taking the notes fast enough they were so willing to help. All while not missing a beat unloading. So a 26' truck packed to the brim, and they finished in only 2.5 hours. Put everything precisely where it needed to go, no damage during the unload to goods or the walls, it was stellar. And at the end, they asked if they could help with anything else, like unwrapping furniture and folding blankets, moving anything else not yet here, and even if I ever needed help arranging things after unpacking (as I'm new to Austin, so not really possible to call a friend to come help arrange some of the heavier furniture pieces). All in all, a fantastic experience. I'll definitely be using them again for any/all moves I make here in Austin.

I hired simpler moving to get us from southeast austin to cedar creek. I was expected to get the move start around 9am but got a call that they had some crew members unavailable and that it would be later than expected. I didn’t know what to expect but man, I’ll tell ya - it didn’t even matter. First off Sawyer and Tanner were the two leads who came to move us. We originally had it scheduled for three people but due to the shortage it was just the two, but it didn’t even matter. Sawyer was on top of giving me updates on when they’ll arrive and once they did they went to town. Extremely professional, efficient, clean and meticulous. Not a single broken item. Everything was loaded into the truck quickly and efficiently. They even took our flat screen and mount off the wall and packed it better than it came. Once we got to the new house they got everything unloaded and in the right spots asap. They even put together our new dining room table. If sawyer and tanner are a reflection of this company, don’t hire anyone else for your move. Would legit use them 100/100 times. I even misplaced a bag that I brought myself during the move and couldn’t find it anywhere. Texted Sawyer 24 hours later and within two minutes he responded and remembered exactly where he saw it. This wasn’t even a bag that they moved. Top notch service. Great bunch of guys and worth every dollar (and more)

Moving is never fun. We needed help moving from a '3rd floor' to another '3rd floor' 2 bedroom apartment, so we decided to make it SIMPLE, and have SIMPLER MOVING take care of it for us. On the morning of the move (Sunday), we got together our friends and family to help the movers take the boxes (2 movers for 2 hours). We had broke down our final pieces of furniture and were just waiting on the movers to arrive. We receive a phone call an hour before the service that the moving truck for the job blew an engine! To make things right, SIMPLER MOVING upgraded our service to a '3 movers for 3 hours' package at their expense for the following morning (friends and family work 9-5 so they cant help move anymore). Unfortunately, there was some sort of miscommunication, and only 2 movers arrived that next morning, causing the move to last an hour extra (Still not bad! but time is money...). I called SHANE and explained what happened, and he quickly escalated the issue and had it resolved. We were refunded the additional hour, and were charged to what we had agreed to previously. I am very impressed with SIMPLER MOVING and how they take care of their customers. The movers had a big task and they executed it flawlessly. These guys are strong too, 2 dudes carried a KING SIZED PURPLE MATTRESS down and up 3 flights of stairs...

Layne and Shane, the owners, were great! The factor that stood out far above the other businesses like theirs was that Shane enthusiastically offered a fair and standard military/vet discount and expressed a personal appreciation for military members. That is not common in small businesses in Austin. . This company was easily the top choice on account of professionalism and near perfect communication. . Not only were they polite, but they were much more informative - asking for a more pertinent details about my move than any other company that I requested a quote from - in order to give a fair and considerate estimate. I have no doubt that, if I had needed to hired them in the end, they would have taken that same professional and personal approach to moving my belongings to my new residence. Best “ease of communication” out of the top rated companies (in Austin according to Yelp etc.) that I contacted. Great communication should be near equal in consideration as the cost of the transaction itself since moving had the potential to be very stressful and is very time consuming for the customer. Let me be start by saying that the actual movers did a great job. This review is by all means not directed to them. I am a firm believer that a company should make sure that staff have proper tools to perform the job accurately and time efficient. We were moving from a two bedroom apartment which have some stairs into a house with no stairs less than a mile apart from each other. My youngest boys have a bunk bed and it required to be be disassembled and reassembled. They had to do it by hand because of not having the right tools. One of the movers himself said that it caused them to go over one and a half hour. This job could have been done in 2 hours or less. I'm upset that this may even be deliberately done in order to make more money. Thanks to the actual movers but I'm furious with a company that do not supply adequate tools to complete the job in a timely manner. Well the owner called me to apologize and offer a refund to remove this post. It has been two months and no refund. So unprofessional and I will never recommend this company. I support local own businesses but when it comes to professionalism I take it serious and lying is not tolerated at all.

These guys are awesome!! I booked Simpler Moving & Packing only a week prior to my move. I was concerned I wouldn't find a service on such short notice. From the start, they were very responsive and accommodating. I first spoke with Shane when booking the appointment. He was thorough and professional and very clear upfront on the window of time the team would show up since they had a previous move schedule for that morning. On the day of the move, they were very communicative and kept me posted on when to expect them. Nick, Dominic and Brooks were on time and as soon as they arrived, they got to work straight away. What I loved the most was that not only that all 3 guys were super hard working and efficient, but they were also very polite, attentive and professional. (I’ve never had that experience with other movers.) These guys were a pleasure to work with! If I could give this company 10 stars I would. I have never had this good of a moving experience, ever. First off, my original movers didn’t show up so I was scrambling on what to do, I had to be out that day and I have a 1800sq foot 3 bedroom home. I found Simpler Moving with a quick search and saw all of their awesome reviews, so i gave them a call Shane was the gentleman who helped me out and he was so nice and polite, I explained my situation and he immediately reassured me that they would be able to make sure my move goes as stress free as possible going forward. He called his operations manager Conor, to verify that we had a crew available. THEY DID!!!! They even arrived to my house in under 45 minutes ! I was shocked. When the movers arrived, they made sure to ask me about my items, Will and Alex could not have been more professional young men. They finished my job for LESS than what the other company quoted me, and they actually showed up I will NEVER search for another moving company as long as I am in Texas. Simpler Moving and Packing has a client for life.

Just days before my move I sent out several requests for quotes, I landed on Simpler Moving for their prompt, professional and completely thorough response. The process of setting up our appointment was easier than I imagined it would be, everything was done through email and text, which was perfect for my busy schedule. On the day of the move I received a phone call, as promised, from the guys moving us to let us know they’d be arriving on time and ready to work. They were friendly, personable and absolutely busted tail to get us moved quickly and efficiently, which is huge for a service that charges hourly. All of my belongings were treated with care and arrived at my new place without so much as a new scuff. Payment was simple, they accept cash, credit and checks. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience from a company that truly lives up to its name. You’d be hard pressed to find a better bunch of guys to move your stuff. Simpler Moving and Packing really saved the day! I could not recommend them enough; choosing a moving company that is local instead of using the “big box” really pays off!!! Bellhops Movers no showed on us and refused to take any responsibility — our pipes burst, house flooded so we were on a tight schedule, really in a bind. So happy someone recommended Simpler Moving! I spoke with Layne and even though they had a fully booked week he was determined to fit us in next day; he really empathized with our situation. He sent a team of four in the late afternoon and they knocked the job out super quickly and professionally. Before starting we walked through the house and the guys noted what was going/staying + any other specifications. The foreman was in constant communication making sure everything was completed to our satisfaction and all the guys were incredibly nice and friendly. Now that I’m unpacking and seeing all the issues with my banged and broken art. electronics and Chanel blazer and McQueen gown shoved in the bottom of a box - it has to change. Decent value for the price. Not professionally trained movers if that’s what you’re looking for. Sawyer and Dre were very hard workers and did anything I asked of them. Like I have this 10 x 14 rug that I love and is something of a pain in my small condo - they helped me not only move it but laid out expertly. If I’m being honest I will not use Simpler again. Time it’s taking to fix stuff. Repack items to store and the longer than expected moving day is costing me way too much. The three quotes I got were around the same - lowers than I expected - I even called before booking bc I understood they were known for their packing. If you are more focused on just having someone get the job than paying for a true professional move - this a good velour at a fair price.

These guys saved my butt! A personal emergency made it so I couldn't pack up my house for about a week prior to my move. It was only half-packed and I had no idea what I was going to do. But Simpler Moving really stepped up to help me out. Jason and his crew were completely understanding about the gravity of the situation and simply said (you see what I did there?), "No problem! We'll just Facetime with you and pack it all up for you." They did this with almost no notice and knowing it would take extra time for the job. They added a person to the crew at the last minute and got my move completely done for almost the exact price they initially quoted me. They were professional, friendly and were happy to help me out of my jam. Not one wall scuff or minor damage issues like I've had with other moving companies. I will definitely be using them for any future moves and VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND Simpler Moving!!!

I was extremely satisfied with the level of service I received from Simpler Moving! I will definitely use them again in the future. They not only quoted me the best and most reasonable price out of all of the other movers I was in contact with but they were very professional. There was one change with the timeframe of my move and that was because they had a truck break down. They were very commutative about the change offered me options and a discount for changing my time frame and they let me know days in advance which gave me time to prepare for the change They sent me reasonable updates leading up to my move. They called me when they were on their way and arrived on time and prompt. Daniel and Brandon were both awesome and professional. They were quick, professional and took great care with moving my things. I truly appreciate this company and thankful that they made things easy for me with my move!

Simpler Moving was fantastic. I was moving from a downtown apartment and putting my items in storage. Luke, Jacob and Connor were amazing. They communicated with my prior to the move, showed up on time, and were very professional. They worked fast but took great care of all of my items. The items I wanted taken care of they went out of their way to wrap/and handle with care. Not a single scratch on any of the walls or even door frames. They went above and beyond when the apartment elevator broke down 3/4 of the way through the move. Without missing a beat they took the couch down the steps to complete the move. Once at the storage unit I really appreciated how they packed the unit with care and took their time to make it fit right. I high recommend Luke, Jacob, and Connor and the entire Simpler Moving team.

I recently used this moving company after searching through reviews after reviews, I am not sure how this company even has 4.9 stars. I never add reviews but I simply had to after the poor experience I had with this company. The guys seemed friendly enough but did a terrible job at moving my furniture from one apartment to the next even though it was only a 10 minute commute. They scrapped up the back of my couches, console, floors, and bedroom furniture. My roommate is still missing a necessary wire from his adjustable bed that they lost and he still hasn’t received any call backs about. Especially for the price they charge ($700+) I expected much better, this company is a complete rip off. I moved to Austin from Dallas and used a Dallas-based moving company that was excellent and half the price!

I used Simpler moving for a move across the Austin metroplex and they were excellent! Best price on the market, and we’re easy to book with on the day I wanted! Luke and Jacob gave me a call about 30 minutes before they arrived and were on time for the appointment. The guys were very personable and attentive, even in the Texas summer heat! They were lightening fast and took great care of my items to be moved. They covered and disassembled the things that needed it, and made sure to ask about what to take. When we got to the new house they got everything inside where it needed to go and even offered to rearrange if i didn’t like it! I had a great experience working with Simpler Moving! I was originally thinking of renting a truck and doing it myself, but decided to use them as they were cost effective. Upon their arrival I knew that I made the right decision. They were prompt, did a quick walk through to look at what needed to be done, and started quickly. They were meticulous in taking care of our belongings and wrapped everything we asked them to. They were also accommodating when unpacking as our home was not ready and we had to move everything into a garage. I'm typically not the type to write a review, but these guys were awesome!! They turned what could potentially be a very stressful situation into a very positive experience!! I'm a bit OCD and very particular about EVERYTHING and they exceeded my expectations. They handled all my furniture with care, blanket wrapped, shrink wrapped and carefully loaded everything onto the truck and into place at my new home. Nothing was damaged including my art work, and glass. They even helped me remove my 85 inch, 75 inch and other large TVs from the walls. All my furniture was dissembled and reassembled correctly into the proper places. They were on time, friendly and great guys! Highly recommend!! Thanks again!

Praise God for this company my friends!! Shane is always quick with a response and genuine with his consideration of time and budget when setting up a move. I have used Simpler Moving 4x's in the past 5 years and each time is just as stellar as the last. The 2 man crews have always kept in contact with me regarding arrival, what their plan of attack is and reassurance of staying on task. This last move was from storage unit to house and between the all business lead Luke and his customer service centered assistant Jacob, they got the job done quickly and efficiently. This is one of the best companies we have ever done business with. We have used Simpler Moving three times, twice locally and most recently from Austin to the Houston area. From our beginning contact to get a bid to the placement of the final piece in our new home, they have been excellent. Communication was prompt and frequent so we always knew where we were in the process. The price was great. But the crew members were the best. We had Luke, Sawyer and Antonio this time, and they were impressive with their efficiency and care in moving our things. We would very highly recommend Simpler Moving!

Had such a great experience with this company. They were prompt, helpful, patient, fair, and so kind. Daniel was my lead mover and Edgar was his partner. Can’t say enough good things about them. Daniel knows exactly what he is doing and is professional, funny, efficient, and sharp as a tack. They moved me from Austin to Houston and were totally gems about it. I moved on 8/13/19, one of the hottest days I've spent in my 20 years in Austin, I think it was 108!! The 3 men who did my move from Round Rock to Austin were amazing! Their stamina, positive attitudes, and work ethic never waivered. They moved furniture for 13 hours, didn't damage anything, and were still smiling at the end. They deserve huge accolades and a big thank you, which I did give them in person. :>) The day before, there were also 3 men who did all the packing, and they also were hard working, friendly and cheerful. I recommend this company, and I will use them again!

Simpler Moving & Packing is the best moving company I’ve worked with, I contracted them on a move from Austin to Houston. What seemed daunting and stressful at first was made almost effortless and smooth, both from the organization and prompt communication by the company itself, and from my two movers Luke & Nathan who handled all of my belongings with care and attention, and were also super flexible and communicative with some last minute logistical hurdles. Not to mention it was all very affordable for the services offered. Cannot recommend these guys enough.

The gentlemen were very courteous and likable. However, I received no paperwork whatsoever. The manager Layne admittedly over charged us, but has never sent the refund for that amount. A lot of my items were left behind, but Layne did not pursue it or offered 60 cents a pound. These were very important items. There was no contract, no one visited my apartment to see how much stuff I had. The movers decided on a price which was much more than I was quoted. I would NEVER use Simpler Moving and Packing again. I hope that no one else is scammed like I was.

I just want to thank Layne, Luke, and Savon for making my move free of stress. Luke was great at communicating through text upon arrival, had all materials necessary, both him and Savon worked efficiently and transported my belongings safely. Although there was a tedious walkway through the parking garage, up the elevator and into my new apartment they continued to maintain a happy and positive attitude and finished the day strong. Simpler Moving is the move, the name makes so much sense after my experience. Definitely recommended 10/10

My moving experience was incredible with Simpler Moving. I needed a couch picked up and dropped off at my apartment on short notice and they were so helpful with assigning a crew to get the job done. They we’re punctual and efficient with timing. They also stayed in communication with me which I greatly appreciated. I was in communication with Dillon who was very professional and friendly. My couch was delivered in great condition (you can tell that it was handled with care). I will continue to use Simpler Moving for all my future moves

I've moved many times and Simpler Moving is by far a cut above the rest. I've never seen movers pay as much attention to detail. The way they packed up my kitchen and small and loose items and wrapped my furniture in an efficient manner was a work of art. Not only did they do an exceptional job, my family and I had a great time hanging out and interacting with the crew as they worked. Such polite and courteous men. I will certainly be calling them up again for my next move and would recommend them to anybody moving in the Austin area.

I had great communication with the Simpler Moving team through this whole process. Great communication day of. Luke and Ray made this process so easy and amazing! I blocked off a three hour amount of time with them and was blown away at how efficient and professional they were and they finished everything in a little over two hours! They were also very clean and a delight to work with! They came highly recommended and I would highly recommend them as well!

This company is incredible! The 25 ft truck we used to move my apartment not only fit EVERYTHING comfortably, but the latches on the inside held everything down and made for a safe move as well. The truck had extra boxes also, which was great for someone like myself who isn’t the best planner. The moving trolley made carrying the heavy items manageable. This company made for an overall smooth move and I will definitely be using them when I move again.

We had an amazing experience with Simpler Moving. Luke, Sawyer and Jordan were rockstars for us. We had an extremely large and heavy king sized bed that needed to be moved upstairs and somehow they worked their magic powers to lift it and make it fit. I couldn’t believe it. I was very pleased with Simpler moving and packing. I recently moved from Houston to Austin. They were on time both when they arrived in Houston and when they got to my condo in Austin. Everything was in great shape and the movers were very efficient both in loading the truck in Houston and deliver it to Austin. I highly recommend their service. It is not often you come across attentive and efficient movers but Luke, Rob and Steven were the best you could ask for! Casey & Luke were great! They helped move my mom into a senior living facility from a condo which required some sensitivity because it’s a bit of a painful process for us. My mom has become a bit of a hoarder so they had to help move a lot of items to get to the furniture being moved. Sweet guys who were up for the challenge and didn’t complain although the move took quite a bit longer than expected.

Not sure if Cody sent out the A team but these gentlemen never stopped and had a solution for everything. We were unprepared and and nervous because we started calling moving companies needing service with only a 2-day notice. That's an uncomfortable position to be in. I was highly pleased when I received the final invoice. No reason to shop around, this is the company you need to use.

Shane was responsive and reasonable during estimation and scheduling process. On moving day, crew members were on time, courteous, and careful with our belongings. This was a long distance move. Tyler and Tanner were great! They were very fast and wrapped up my furniture really well. I had one older Ikea dresser I didn't think would survive the move but they wrapped it up so well it had no problems. Overall it was the best moving experience I have had. It even cost less than I was expecting it to! I will definitely be using Simpler Moving in the future.

Brandon and LJ were great movers for me. I feel really bad because it's so hot and they had to move me into my townhouse and go up 4 flights of stairs. The stairs were not easy and a very tight fit. Not one compliant. They work fast and are very efficient. I highly recommend them and this company.
