What an awful experience, one star is one too many. The new owner is not a good person. I used to eat here once a week for lunch when it was under the management of the previous owner, Jimmy. Always good- not great, but good. He has retired, and NOTHING is the same. Most of the old people are gone. New decor is nice, though. Went for lunch today and the salad looked horrible. Decomposed pieces of lettuce and greens, brown liquid in the bottom. I sent it back. The server came back and said they couldn't cut any new lettuce until 5pm, but she looked thru it and made another salad. Worse than the first one. The hostess came by, looked at what I had and was appalled, so she took it back and made another one. Worse than both of the first two- almost liquified pieces of red leaf. I said I've lost confidence in the food quality, and i just wanted to pay and go, the server said she would get the manager. He, the new owner, came to my table and asked what was the trouble. I explained and showed him. He said "you did this the last time you were here, right?" I had no idea what he was talking about. He said something about me getting a to go order and complaining- I have NEVER ordered take out from there, and I told him so. He said "yes you did," calling me a liar. I told him he must have me confused with someone else. Called me a liar again. I told him the only other issue I've ever had there before was plastic in my country style steak. Twice. He nodded, and said, "yeah, you did that," clearly insinuating that I put the plastic in my own food. This is when I was still trying to pay him for the grossly substandard food I was served, because I didn't want anything free from them after being called a liar. He shoved my money back at me and told me if he ever saw me there again he would call the police. So being served partially rotted salad is apparently the fault of the customer. Do yourself a favor and don't ever step foot in this nasty excuse for a restaurant. They are going to make some people very sick. If visible rot and decay isn't enough to prevent them trying to serve it to you, how do you think the things that aren't as visible, like food temps and sanitation are handled? I can guess. And their 94 sanitation score should have been a clue. Jimmy, we miss you. I hope you enjoy your well deserved retirement. But your cousin is quickly going to drive the nice place you built right into the ground. What an inexcusable way to treat an 18 year customer. Never again.

We had a waitress name Maria. While taking our drink order and our food, she was huffing and puffing like we were taking too long. Me and my 2 sons noticed it, but we try to brush it off. Then when she bought our food to the table, she pushed the plate and slid one of my son's drinks across the table. I asked her ma'am is there a problem, and she said no, she said that she had a table with a party and she was real busy, and she apologized. Then she came back to the table and apologized again and kept stating how busy she was I told her I know you got a party and you're busy, but we are customers too and we deserve respect. She continued to apologized, but then came back 5 min later, sit the tea and water pitcher on the table, and said since I'm so busy can I leave the pitcher on the table. So now we was treated rude, and we have to pour our own drink. I was too through. I will go back to the restaurant cause the food was good, but I do not want get her as waitress. Ryley the cashier was so so nice to us. When I told her what happened, she was so apologizetic to us. It was not her fault, but it was nice that she apologized for something her coworker did. She was the best.

I got breakfast, the skyland special, the hash browns were undercooked, the pancakes were dry, but the eggs were fine. Seems petty to complain about but breakfast in my book is one of the easier meals a diner should be able to do. Everything about the meal was just so meh. Service was tough. Our waitress kept forgetting things, like drinks that were meant to be diet, rarely checked on us, among other things. While she was apologetic, I'm not going out to eat to hear someone say I'm sorry 900 times. Atmosphere was probably even worse, they renovated the front? So that looks nice and all, but as soon as you get to the dining area it just looks old, best up, mismatched table heights, everything that screams "this won't be pleasant". It needs a long overdue update. I don't say this often but I'd just avoid it. Sure maybe my experience with the food and the waitress was a one-time issue. But for the atmosphere alone, I'd skip it. It's just unpleasant.

Skyland has changed quite a bit over the last several months. The service and food are nowhere near the quality it used to be. I’ve been going to Skyland for about 15 years now and have never seen it this bad. I really hope they can get it together. Had breakfast there today. Walked in, no greeting- just sit anywhere. Every human interaction was purely transactional no matter how courteous I was. Hash browns were half cooked and still cold in the middle. Noticed they were undercooked the past couple times as well but gave them a break. The service staff used to be friendlier but there has been a lot of turner over this year. At this point I’m really concerned about food quality and safety, and if they can keep the doors open much longer. Place was pretty empty which says a lot. I would recommend going through the reviews. Very inconsistent. Sad to say it, but I’m done with Skyland.

I stopped in as I was in Charlotte for just one day. The ladies running this restaurant were just LOVELY. The portions are HUGE and you will most definitely get your moneys worth I couldn’t eat it all. I absolutely LOVED the soup and the Greek Chicken wow! So flavorful. It looks to be a local place and I hope to return again soon.

I went out to breakfast with my family of 7 and 5 out of the 7 of us got sick with diarrhea and stomach aches. My siblings ordered pancakes one with strawberry and one with blueberries and this is what they gave them. Not fresh at all just cold canned pie filling as the topping . They got sick too. My brothers sausage links smelled like fart and tasted spoiled so he didn’t eat it after that but still got sick. Called and spoke to Amanda who stated the “Boss” will call me back and it’s been 2 hours and nothing.Paid $89 to just get sick. Not worth it at all!!

This was on my top 10 list. I have moved out of state and have not been able to visit until recently. I was so disappointed with the menu, and the food. I was expecting more from the menu. It only had a few selections to choose from. I wanted the amazing spaghetti that I used to always get but it was not on the menu therefore I thought it was unavailable. I ended up get one of the Hot Sandwiches. The cheese wasn’t even melted all the way and there was way more bread than meat. The ratio was like way off. To my fellow Charlotteans it is not the same. I will not be back.

If you're looking for greeeaat breakfast and don't feel like cooking yourself, forget about waffle house they don't hold a single candle to this place!!! Delicious everytime it's hard for me to get anything other than the breakfast platter because it's perfect everytime right down to the cheese grits. My partner and I tried the fried fish platyer for the first time and that was also very good They've got an eclectic staff and this place is a win

If I could give this review 0 stars I would. I came here with my family for breakfast and it was absolutely horrible. Most of us ended up getting sick at the same time with stomach cramps, nausea and diarrhea from the food. This happened within less than an hour of consuming the food and this was our only meal to start the day so there was nothing else that could have caused this to happen so rapidly. We were hoping this would be a good experience before saying goodbye before a road trip but it ended up being a nightmare.

I was looking for a quiet place to have a meal and a conversation. Remembered this place from a previous stay at the Four Points by Sheraton. On entering, the place was surprisingly busy although not crowded. I waited for 6-7 minutes before someone came to greet and seat me. The staff was friendly and polite, especially our waitress. The food portions were very generous. The bacon was great, French toast and turkey sausage not so good. Prices were ok. The entire restaurant could use some touch ups. The bathrooms were dingy and poorly maintained (wall, paint, ceiling boards and fixtures), but not dirty.

The food here is very good. This restaurant is quite affordable for the prices charged. Some form of Breakfast is served all day, although the menu is understandably more limited later in the day. Refreshingly, ordering food here online (Doordash, Grubhub, etc.) is very easy. The menu has very few inconveniences. I have enjoyed this restaurant for 21 years. When my parents were alive, we would eat here every Sunday. Their signature Philly Cheesesteak Sub is better than many restaurants that specialize in Philly style subs! Their banana pudding is excellent!

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is great, and the service is top-notch. The servers are notably tall and polite. The gentleman at the front, possibly their brother, is a delightfully humorous person. His energy and accent add a lot of charm to the experience. Overall, it's a wonderful family restaurant!

Visited this location for a pick up order this morning. The experience was great!!! I've been traveling for two days and the staff at this restaurant have given me a great start to my day. I ordered a veggie omelet that was good, two pork chops that were quite tasty, and two fried eggs. No, I didn't eat it all myself, but everyone was very happy. The pick up experience was easy and quick. I didn't have to ask for cutlery. It's the little things that make an experienced good or bad. Thank you for a good one.

So I came here thinking I would get a quick breakfast... I personally love breakfast food... so I sat down for my breakfast ... I didn't think anything other than get me my damn breakfast ... had my breakfast placed on the table... there were two waitresses holding my plate of breakfast because it was too heavy for one of them!!!! It was too much breakfast ... I got sick from my breakfast because I ate too much.. I am giving this a 7 out of 10 star because I dim like the breakfast

I LOVE this restaurant. I haven’t been in a while but the food is still AMAZING. The skyland special is mine and my husband’s go to breakfast. Our kids have enjoyed eating here too. Very kid friendly. The staff doesn’t change and they are ALWAYS friendly. I just had a root canal and I got the french toast, eggs & grits which were sooo moist and delicious. I will be coming back when I can.

Found this restaurant by pure luck while looking for something "different" in an area we were in. Server was very pleasant. Our table was sticky but she tended to it. We were missing one set of silverware but I grabbed it from a different table. She forgot my husband's salad but apologized. Food was so good!!! Overall we were very pleased with the entire experience. We will be back!

Don’t get the steak and gravy, most of the food was unsettling but i would recommend the banana pudding and the breakfast items. The venue is really cute. Don’t get the apple pie either. The waitress was slightly too friendly but we didn’t mind too much.

The food was nasty. My sister had fried okra and something dropped out of it! The noodles in the veggie soup was way over cooked. They need new cooks!
