I have been to the clinic a few times and found the wait after your appointment time to be too long. When I told a doctor that I suspected that I had aneamia. He just laughed and told me that I didn't. He organised a blood test at my instistance,l. Although he thought that it was a waste of time. Image my surprise when he called me at home, that's NEVER a good sign. Too inform me that I had the worst case of aneamia that he had heard of. And if the iron tablets he prescribed me didn't work. I would require an iron infusion. So much for his knowledge. The very last time that I was there, I was taken into the clinic by some people as I was feeling weak and in extreme pain. 5 days earlier, I had, had a procedure to stretch my oesophagus and that it had now caused me issues, including not being able to eat or barely drink. A doctor saw me immediately and tried ringing my regular Gastroenterologist, only to find out that he had gone to Queensland for a huge medical conference. So the doctor began ringing every Gastroenterologist in the area, only to find out again that they too had gone to this conference. Eventually, he found a Gastroenterologist that worked all the way up at Epworth Hospital. He explained my symptoms, wrote a referral and organised an ambulance to take me from my home to Epworth Hospital. What I didn't know was that this was the ONLY Gastroenterologist in Victoria, probably Australia, who wasn't attending the conference because he fully believed he knew everything. If I can find his name, you can read all about him. I called him The Texas Cowboy because of where he came from and the way he did things. Certainly NOT professional. This Gastroenterologist wrote a letter back to the referring doctor telling him exactly what was wrong with me. Which is a completely normal thing to do. A few years later I required an appointment and made it before heading home. As I got home the phone was ringing. And as I live only a 4 minute drive from the clinic, I thought it couldn't be them. However, when I rushed in and picked up the phone, I was met with a now harsh receptionist, the same previously happy one to make the appointment, to inform me in no uncertain terms that I am now bared from the practice!? Why? I was told that the doctor's had decided that they didn't want me as a patient and that was their rights. But what had I done so terribly wrong in about 5 minutes to be bared completely from the clinic? Again, even more rudely, I was told that it was the doctor's decision and that was that! I tried speaking, although I was crying and in shock, but she just slammed the phone down in my ear. I STILL don't know why I was banned. My son was still able to see a doctor there and I could accompany him. I once tried to make an appointment at the Rosebud Clinic, as I desperately required a doctor due to an infection. There were no problems making the appointment. But when I finally, because the wait to check in at Rye or Rosebud is extremely long wait, I was told that I couldn't be seen as an alert had come up on the computer screen that I was banned from ALL South Coast Medical Clinic's. I explained, in tears again that I just required a prescription and that was it. The receptionist stated that her hands were tied but she would ask the doctor if he would see me? Thankfully he did. As I was leaving, again waiting for ages at reception, I was told that this was a once off and would never happen again. I'm not welcome at their clinic's anymore. When I asked her if she knew why? She stated that she didn't but there was an alert, so she wasn't even sure how I managed to make an appointment Not long after that I found out the reason why I was banned in less than 5 minutes. The 'Texas Cowboy' letter to the treating doctor, I was now training to be a nurse, was downright unbelievable. No wonder that they had banned me. Who wants a patient on their books and in their clinic who 'fakes' thing's! I had NEVER faked anything. But the damage was done. I will say though that when I took my son in, the doctor's were thorough.

Moved to the area and wanted to have a set of bloods done. Made an app, mentioned mask exempted on the phone it was fine. Got to the clinic got told to mask up, I said no, got told to wait outside when the clinic was empty. I also said no that’s discrimination under the discrimination act 1992, also the constitution of Australia and the Bio Security act. I am a human with rights and lawful/mandatory masks are not law. That needs to pass lower house, upper house, long trail and eventually signed by the Queen. But I guess people don’t know their rights as an Australian Citizen. After entering the doctors office I where she were late to a 9am app that I had to pay for, the doc was cold, unfriendly and wouldn’t do as I requested. Seriously poor efforts for the $150, that’s for 30min and I only got 20 of those minutes if that. Disgusting treatment of a new patient. Heads up staff learn the law as what you are sprouting is not law it’s discrimination plain and simple.

I would say it's the worst clinic in Victoria. Read carefully, I just came out of hospital after 3 months in the Alfred for heart and brain surgery, was weak that day and parked in the disabled zone. Receptionist were extremely unpleasant Came storming out of the clinic and told me to move cause I didn't have a disabled sticker even though I told her I was in pain. Absolutely disgusting behaviour. But wait there's more. Took my 80 to mum there who was bitten by one of those flesh eating mossies, doctor laughed at her and said ahhh it's just a mossie bite. Mum ended up in Frankston hospital diagnosed and on lepracy tablets.

Absolute terrible customer service from the receptionist on Saturday 24 September - my son had a cough and I told her we tested yesterday and he does not have Covid. She said in order for him to come in he needs to take another rat test but I told her we don’t have any rat tests and she said well we can’t help you. I suggested a Tele health call & she said no we can’t do that, however during Covid every visit was a Tele health call. Where is the care & compassion surely they could supply a rat test if it was that important to test him. Terrible receptionist and very rude

This practice is only interested in making money. The receptionist was extremely rude. She sent us with our young child to wait in the car park as she had sore ears. This was because it would compromise other patients in the medical centre with her “illness”. Absolute disgrace. Then after seeing a much friendlier local medical centre, we did not have to wait in a car park. A quick look over and she was just fine. No contagious illness and no medication required. Bulk billed as well. Read the reviews regarding this centre.and don’t bother attending

I've been attending Sth Coast Medical in Rye for over 12 years now. I have, on every single visit, been treated by their reception and clinical staff with the utmost kindness and respect. I've found them at all times to be efficient and professional folk. I work in our emergency services (Fire/Rescue), and therefore understand the pressures such clinics find themselves in from time to time. Never the less, this clinic gets a 5-star rating from me for helpfulness, professionalism and their medical services expertise.

Telephoned to make an appointment for a whooping cough immunisation making it clear to receptionist exactly what appointment was for even enquiring if they ran a immunisation clinic and a nurse could provide the service. I was told I needed to make an appointment with a doctor. $180 later (before Medicare rebate) I was taken back, especially given Chemist Warehouse offer this service for $30 and Terry White for $45. Clearly a huge mark up on the immunisation cost in addition to the consultation fee. Never again.

Booking was efficient and the person was helpful offering alternate times and locations. Reception was friendly, COVID handling was as you would expect, The Dr was on time and really great to deal with. Overall, couldn't ask for better. I really don't know what so many reviewers are complaining about.

I cannot fault the care and compassion shown to me and my family at South Coast Medical in Rye, but also at all the South Coast Medical clinics. I find the fees on a par with all other private billing doctors. Not sure what other reviews are on about but I find the reception and doctors great!

I called up and the staff were very helpful in fitting my 16 year old daughter in to see on the same day. Ended up being an ear infection. Her doctor was very thorough and we were in and out with in 30mins (including a 15min weight), thankyou team.
