"THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Recently, I successfully completed a three-month PT regimen with the Spear clinic location on Clark St., Brooklyn Heights. My physical problem was the acute pain in my lower back muscles, especially the gluteus maximus, which occurred when I walk too much at one time, or walk up & down on hills, or walk on the treadmill. I choose Spear because of its excellent reputation in physical therapy practice as well as the “word of mouth” recommendations from friends and from my own wife who had used the very same Spear location after fracturing several pelvic bones from a fall. My therapist, Jacinthe Duvinage, PT, DPT, was outstanding. With patience and great clinical skill, she showed me the best exercises and routines for strengthening my lower back, providing insightful feedback and correction. In addition, Jacinthe gave helpful instruction on how to improve my balance. I walk with a cane, and have balance issues, the result of an impaired leg from a cervical spinal cord injury, (and the additional complication of severe spinal stenosis). I have worked with several physical therapists, and Jacinthe is the very best. Based on my observations during resting interludes, the other therapists were giving their patients (all age groups) the same level of caring and careful attention for which Spear is known. Several days after my last Spear session, I saw my neurologist for my quarterly visit; he gave me the usual balance tests and noted that my balance was the best since he has been seeing me as his patient. My lower back muscles don’t hurt anymore when I do a strenuous walk or exercise on my gym’s treadmill, which gives me the motivation to continue the exercise regime which Jacinthe developed for me. Without hesitation, I recommend Spear as the gold standard in physical therapy practice.
I had heard many wonderful things about Spear, but I was still surprised how impressed I have been with my treatment experience with Alberto Segura, Jr., PT. DPT. In these times, when M.D.’s rarely can spend more than ten minutes with you, imagine someone working with your mobility issues and pain, and patiently showing you and encouraging you to use your muscles differently. Alberto made the same diagnosis of my condition, as did a thorough M.D. fourteen years ago, however, Alberto made the diagnosis during the first visit, in a half hour. I received physical therapy in 2008, however, there is no comparison with the physical therapy I am receiving now. Alberto is extremely knowledgeable and professional. It is obvious he has a great deal of experience working with patients. I would say he is determined that you use muscles you’ve been neglecting, mostly the core muscles; yet he is still reassuring, kind, thoughtful and funny. For my birthday, he even put me on the shuttle machine (after an excellent massage)! I could try and do that exercise on the leg extension machine at the gym but I guarantee, I would NOT have done it correctly. I highly recommend Alberto! As for the rest of the staff, they could not be more lovely and attentive. The young ladies at the desk (Keisha who called this AM) always greet me, there are masks out for the patients, the setup is very convenient, everyone is on time and organized, and the assistant/trainees I have worked with Anna and Chanel are attentive and very helpful!
I have been with Spear since the day after my shoulder surgery on January 24.2020. It’s the 4th physical therapy (PT) facility I’ve been to in my lifetime and most certainly the best one. My experience from A to Z, both with headquarters staff when I inquired about PT and whether Spear accepted my insurance to my wonderful therapist Hannah Swaim has been so positive. All the staff members are friendly and professional. Hannah has helped me get my range of motion back and is professional, supportive, and patient and motivates me to do the work to get better. She also partners with me to set realistic goals and is fun to work with. Hannah is creative in helping me learn the exercises too! I spent around 8 months in 2020 at Spear. I returned in October 2022 for hand and occupational therapy for trigger finger. Cali is my therapist. My sessions are great and Cali has taught me helpful home exercises and splints that help me avoid the pain. My session starts with wax and heat for 10 minutes, then massage and then guided exercises.. Cali is upbeat, exudes positive energy and my trigger finger is improving and healing. Thank you Cali, I love the model of one large room/gym where I can see other people and therapists. It’s great to have a dressing room too where I can lock up all my belongings and the place is bright and clean and engaging. The assistants are also keeping me on track with all my exercise routines. Ellen Kamaras I started with
The worst experience and I paid out of pocket! I only went to Spear PT since they came highly recommended from a leading spinal surgeon in Manhattan. My issue was more than my back. I knew I had a hip impingement and the entire left side of my body wasn't working properly. I specifically mentioned this before booking an appointment and asked that they check and ensure that my muscles were functioning properly since I suspected my glutes and hamstrings weren't firing up. I saw the manager at the time who not only had the same athletic interests as me, (which was important to me (climbing/surfing)), but he was supposed to be the best. He did no overall assessment at our first consultation/session and spent a total of 5-10 minutes (tops) with me for every session thereafter. I was then sent to an assistant for the rest of my 50 min session, where they had me do rudimentary activities which focused on core and did not address the underlying issue. My hamstrings and glutes were never checked let along addressed or anything attaching to my hip. Spear PT is a mill, booking multiple people at once and moving people along. What's worse is no one listened to me, not even the manager. I got fed up and eventually stopped going and sought out Ming Chew, PT who is completely out of pocket and a master of healing. Later on I found Evolve in Park Slope who saved me and have brought me back to a painless (yes, painless) life. Read my review for them.
THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!... and it doesn't hurt that the location where you'll be recovering from your injuries with their talented staff is furthermore extremely light-filled & spacious!!!!! It was my privilege to work with Christina Cottrell, whom I can't recommend highly enough. Apart from her practical knowledge, an additional nicety is that she's not only an attentive listener, but really conveys as much with the entirety of her being— not once did I ever feel her attention stray, and if for any reason she ever needed to divert her focus to other matters during our sessions, she politely made as much clear. This does not always happen in larger PT facilities. And if you've been to a few: not only can this be frustrating when you're trying to heal, but also a bit problematic if— while telling your therapist the symptoms you're trying to address, say— you're unsure that you were even properly heard... and then suddenly you're sent off to a machine across the room & your therapist is already in conversation with a different patient or colleague. Not so with Christina, which is a wonderfully positive plus. All in all: she— and everyone else here, from support staff to aides to management & others— are the exact kind of top-notch people to work with when you're in the generally undesirable position of having to fix / address whatever particular failures your body is finding itself in the midst of. Highly recommended.
Cristina Bateman is the best PT I’ve ever worked with. As a Pelvic Floor therapist she deals with many females during a tough and vulnerable time and always brings energy, calm, and reassurance to each session. As a specialist in a high demand job, it always surprised me how she made you feel important and like she was really listening and addressing your needs while juggling a million and one things and clients. I worked with her for 6 months pre and post partum and my last day with her was honestly hard given the relationship we built. As personal as the birth experience and your OBGYN team is, the recovery and physical support during and post it is just as important. Having her as your PT is a decision you will not regret and SPEAR is beyond lucky to have her. Side note: the front desk team and techs are also great - special shout out to Keisha in the front who remembers your name and is responsive and kind - and Chris, a tech who is just as good as many PTs I’ve worked with in the past and super helpful.
I’ve been doing PT for months now, I was dealing with SPD during pregnancy and recti diastasis after delivery. I chose this center just because it was available but I found some very good things about it. I worked with Christina and J. Amato, both incredibly professional and dedicated to their work. They clearly know what they are doing and you can see the results. They teach you how to properly perform the exercises (super important since I’ve had PT that leave you alone so you never know what you are doing and if you are doing things right), they challenge you to walk into more complex routines if you are ready ( they don’t sleep on the same routine for weeks even. when you are ready to move on), and they follow closely your progress. Overall a good experience and I would recommend this place. Of course there is always someone that has not the excellence than the rest of the team,
This review is long overdue! I’d worked with Spear at a different location back in 2021, but alas 2022 greeted me with another flare-up of existing chronic running injuries so I returned this time to the BK Heights location to work with Scott Louis. From our first consultation day to our final session, I always felt like Scott had my interests in mind, while also giving me the occasional tough common-sense recommendations I needed to hear (as a distance runner, I think we all struggle with pulling back on training load). I’ve had plantar fasciitis that I manage reasonably well since 2018 but if I go too long without proper stretching and physio work, it will come back to haunt me. Thankfully, Scott and the team at Spear always seem to have the right exercises to target muscle imbalances/weaknesses. I’m glad to have them in the city to work with and recommend them 10000%
This place is great! And if the other locations are similar (which I think they are) kudos to them for doing such a good job in consistancy with good service. Medical - they knew my injuries and how to deal with them effectively Appointments- easy to make and adjust Check In - friendly and helped me deal with insurance/COBRA stuff Therapist (I had Nicole Surach as main and a bunch of others who helped with the exercises - GREAT; friendly, helpful, attentive, knowledgable Access - near multiple subway stations; wheelchair accessible Technology - they seem to have well designed and run systems to manage everything including a tool for sharing excerises with you, This was a great experience and I thank them for helping me feel better and for setting me up to continue to maintain the progress I made.
SPEAR was a great experience from day one. The front desk worked with me when my insurance would not. The place had a positive and energetic atmosphere and the staff were on top of their game every step of the way. Recovery is difficult and finding a quality PT is IMPORTANT. After a second big surgery I was certain I wouldn't regain full function AND be destined to live with chronic pain. The positivity and encouragement from my PT Hannah Swaim was invaluable. Her no nonsense we can do this attitude was extremely comforting and she worked HARD to get me back into shape. By the end of the summer I was swimming over a mile a day -something unimaginable when I started. If you're lucky enough to book Hannah Swaim as your PT you'll know what I'm talking about. A great PT makes ALL the difference.
The only constructive criticism I have for this location is it’s very difficult to get an appointment. It took me 2 weeks to have my evaluation. However, when I had my first visit I understood why. This location is very high in demand because of how amazing their staff is! My physical therapist Leah is the best! Haven’t been there for long and most of my pain from my injuries I suffered in a car accident has minimized to a 2 or less. The location I went to for 3 months going there 4 times a week did nothing and I’ve only been going there for 5 weeks twice a week and she’s improved my life immensely. Also, extremely professional, transparent and dependable. Everyone there from the front desk to the aides are very helpful and friendly as well. Definitely worth the wait!
I highly recommend Spear-Brooklyn Heights. It is clean, fresh, airy, friendly and upbeat. My PT Devon was knowledgeable, reassuring, pleasant and welcoming. I was pleased that I was assigned her. It made the experience acceptable. The other employees who helped me were also positive and friendly and helpful. I had to return in 2022 and once again found Spear to be professional, pleasant, competent and as I remembered. I want to note the expertise and the personality of Scott Lewis who was my main therapist; he was not only on top of everything, but a pleasure to interact with. I also want to note the others who work there, who were-each of them-friendly, helpful and professional. I highly recommend Spear.
Overall the physical therapy was successful. I gained strength and my pain was resolved. The therapists are skilled and knowledgeable. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The main concern is lack of focused attention from the therapists. My therapist generally was bouncing between two and three patients during my hour. I usually had to wait for my therapist between exercises to learn what exercise was next. I also needed to remind my therapist of which side had the injury and what level we did the exercise on the last visit. If the level of attention and documentation could be improved, it would be five stars. Another patient who lives in my same building indicated a similar experience.
I've had a great experience with Hannah and the Spear team handling a foot and shoulder issue. In the initial visit I was asked thorough questions about the issues and I was given video exercises to do at home. Hannah took the time to explain what the end goal was and how to get there, and worked with me as things progressed. She and her team kept an eye on me as I went through the paces, making any necessary corrections. I was able to get appointments quickly and convenient to my schedule. Most importantly, even though you are in the room with others, I never felt unsafe regarding COVID. (and I've been very careful). Everyone, staff and patients, is required to wear a mask and the ventilation is good.
This place is like a physical therapy factory. If you're lucky, you might see an actual PT for a few minutes -- most of which time they spend talking to someone else, then they throw you into exercises for about 45-50 minutes. Keep in mind, these are all exercises you do at home anyway. So what's the point? It's a waste of time and money. The "PT Aides" are a bunch of kids who are supposed to be making sure that you are doing the exercises correctly, but the aides just stay glued to their laptops and completely forget about you. This place is filled with inexperienced, unprofessional, and inappropriate people who don't care about the clientele. Would not recommend to anyone.
First off, Spear Physical Therapy is very effective and Leah is the best! After my knee injury, i had braced for few weeks and had lost my quad muscles. The difference between the two quads was 1.5 inches. With 7 sessions total (twice a week sessions) of BFR (blood flow restriction therapy) , I regained significant quad muscles on my injured leg and the difference between the quads reduced to 0.5 inches. Leah also showed me exercises for some ankle issues that i was having. They really care about you and I will definitely go back to Spear for any other PT that I require in the future. Finding a good PT place is about being fortunate and I am glad I found Spear and Leah!
Working with Spear PT transformed my quality of life. Before finding their team, I suffered from chronic migraines and pain in my neck and shoulders, and had accepted that this was my fate. The accelerated therapy session with Scott, Shaq, and the entire staff at Spear completely alleviated this pain and I can proudly say this is not an experience I worry about any longer. Each step of the process from scheduling, intake, to at home exercises and progress check-ins were carefully well-explained to me, making the experience easy and something I found myself looking forward to. I cannot say thank you enough to Scott and the team at Spear for the work you do. Go see them!
Spear PT Brooklyn Heights is a high quality facility (loft like gym space, plenty equipment, spacious, CLEAN) with great staff (from the front desk to the therapists)! I've been working with Devon for a few months now and she's been incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and fun. She continues to build on my exercises and offers plenty adaptation where appropriate. Most importantly, I've learned some amazing new tools to manage my pain issues that fit in well with my intensive fitness schedule. In terms of COVID: the spacious waiting area, hallways and gym allow for proper social distancing and all equipment is thoroughly cleaned after use.
Alberto is one of the most well trained PTs I have worked with in years. Hands on body work is technically proficient; exercise directions are steps above the typical instruction. For example - do 10 squats; however he then explains how to hold your body in the exercise to gain the maximum benefit & where to place your mental focus thus encouraging a conscious PT session. . It’s more than just the “10 reps.” It’s a body awareness healing session. He’s genuinely interested in his clients as is evidenced by his preparation & readiness when you arrive. You are not just “the next one” to stroll thru the door.
The front desk staff has mediocre customer service. They prefer to comminicate with their colleagues than to greet you properly. Miguel was the only tech who was professional. All the other techs were unprofessional and rude. Brittany and Hannah are great physical therapists. However, their schedules are too packed for you to receive the thorough services you may need. In addition, there is lack of follow up if you need additional services so you have to go elsewhere. :( I honestly prefer the Times Square location more professional and adequate follow up and service from techs and physical therapists.
I initially came to Spear for treatment following traumatic leg injury caused by a vehicular knockdown. Also treated successfully for vertigo. I started therapy using a cane and graduated without the need for one. After a number of months of complete improvement, I developed balance issues and tremors due to Dystonia. Considering my initial positive experience, I had no hesitation to return to Spear to deal with my latest issues. I have found the therapists to be very professional and caring. The support staff are friendly and welcoming. The treatment facility is always bright, clean, and organized.
I had a fantastic experience at SPEAR from Day 1 (evaluation) to my “graduation.” Brittany was awesome, thoughtfully and effectively adjusting my exercises (shoulder issue) as I gained strength, tailoring my treatment toward getting back to swimming and baseball. I’m glad to say she got me back in the game! Brittany’s communication is always clear, professional, and friendly. I was also impressed with the seamless transition to virtual treatment sessions after the Covid shutdown. Brittany helped me figure out home exercises that I will be able to use going forward. She’s the best. Thanks, Brittany!
Pretty disappointed. I had a great first appointment and was very transparent about my needs - specifically how I will likely need some direction with focusing and getting form correct for the exercises. I came back for my second appointment and saw an actual therapist for I think a total of 5 minutes, a "technician" for another 5 minutes, and the rest of the hour was me trying to figure out if I did the exercises correctly. Really frustrating considering how expensive this is too. Will be cancelling future appointments and doing exercises from home, since that's about $200 less per week.
Pre-COVID-19, I loved my experience at Spear- Brooklyn Heights. I had outstanding service from the front desk staff to the practitioners. My massage therapist, Sophie, and physical therapist, Leah, listen to my complaints then tended and strength all my physical areas of weakness or discomfort. They motivated me to a pursue a healthier fitness lifestyle. During COVID-19, I remembered their recommendations and continued on my exercise journey. This is a period of adjustment for us all but their past encouragement was solace during a dark time.
Jmmy Olayos, the Director of Spear Physical therapy in Brooklyn is an outstanding professional. He personally was in charge of my 2-3 times a week therapy rehabbing 2 torn muscles- rotator and bicep...great attention to detail, extremely informative, consistent in his approach. Most importantly, it worked...6 months later, I'm back playing golf with no discomfort. Jimmy also provided me with a warm up routine pre-golf...part of his approach to managing the process. Very highly recommended!
I recently started going to SPEAR for carpal tunnel and related issues. My first time ever having physical therapy and have to say it’s been great. I feel that my therapist, Valerie is taking the time to properly assess everything that’s contributing to my pain and giving me tools and exercises that will aid me in this for the future. Plus I feel comfortable and confident knowing that everyone is following and enforcing cleanliness and covid safe protocols.
Christina "Chris" Cottrell at Spear Brooklyn Heights has been a lifesaver for me! Chris and the entire support team are a pleasure to work with and have been consistently excellent and effective. I 'm very physically active with my work and work out/weight training regimen. I am now seeing her for a second sports injury. She fixed me up so well initially I had to ask her what area we first worked on when I came back in this time. Thank you Chris!
I've been through a few rounds of physical therapy at Spear PT and each time has been wonderful, with great improvements. I've had a badly sprained ankle, plantar fasciitis, and scoliosis treatment. My therapists, Nicole and Chris are exemplary physical therapists, as well as being wonderfully caring and kind human beings. I've watched other therapists there and have been impressed with the level of care and joy they all bring to their patients.
I have been in physical therapy before and never came across such a dedicated Physical Therapist. Jacinthe Duvinage pushed me in every positive way, encouraged me to be at a level of progress post-surgery I didn’t know was possible. I am truly grateful for her unconditional support emotionally and physically. She has gone above and beyond to see that I improve, and my post-surgery recovery wouldn’t have been possible without her
Spear Physical Therapy has been a great place to visit weekly. Michael Schmutter provided excellent care. You could tell that he researched and evaluated my problems personally, and took efforts to refine our exercises and workouts. The entire staff was welcoming especially at the front desk and the assistants, Chris and Shaq. I felt great improvement over the 4 months of regular work and have learned a lot.
It was a great pleasure working with Michael Schmutter these last months. I’ve kept to my prescribed routine, and I’m certain that his help and wisdom has been the reason I’m feeling relief in my lower back. Although I had to suspend my visits for personal reasons, I'm grateful to him for giving me these tools for survival. He's changed my life! Should my condition worsen, he’ll be the first place I turn.
Spear Physical Therapy in general is outstanding! Somer Meyers, the physical therapist I work with is skilled, smart, wise, and caring. The exercises I do at my sessions and at home on my own have helped me heal. All the assistants are also excellent as are the front desk staff. The facility is beautiful and most important, my whole spine is becoming more pain free and flexible. Really a wonderful place.
Jacinthe is incredible. She is so caring and truly is the best PT I’ve ever had. I was in so much pain when I first started and I’m definitely in a totally different place than I was back then. I also love that she encouraged me to slowly push my limits one by one. Previous PTs I had were on the much more conservative side and told me to cut out certain sports. I’m glad she didn’t. Thank you Jacinthe :)
I loved the staff and my initial checkup was great but the fact that you’re getting treatments within an open office environment without any privacy made me decide to go ahead with a different provider. Everyone is crammed into one room and the person next to me was even bumping into me at one point doing their exercises. Also from a covid perspective this didn’t make sense to me.
Hannah, is an incredible therapist, She is no nonsense person that gets you to do things you hate by her shear determination and personality. At times, I felt totally defeated but Hannah did not want to hear that. Finally things started to turn around and now have no need for a cane nor brace! Going back to my walking regime of 10-20 blocks a day. Hannah is a real gem.
If you want to go to the most professional, safe, effective PT space.. then look no further. I have absolute confidence in their knowledge of each condition and attention to each individual. I have been to many PT centers. NONE compare.. not even HSS. I've been to many. After the 1st session PT can sometimes feel like a factory line.. NOT the case here.
I have been going to SPEAR for a month now to work with Devon. She, and the entire team, have been so helpful and understanding. They push me without it feeling like I'm back in boot camp, and they give me space when I think a physical movement will hurt. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants the care they would give to their loved ones.
As I work with Christina I learn proper alignment and techniques to maximize the effectiveness of the exercises. She is patient and thorough and she provides excellent information and insights during our sessions. I really like both the virtual sessions and the video lessons to use in between. Glad I found Spear during the pandemic.
I have been here multiple times for multiple reasons, from joint replacement recovery to tendon issues. The therapists and assistants and well-trained, kind and friendly. The place is busy and the other patients are inspiring. I’ve been to other PT places prior to Spear but once I started coming here, I stopped looking elsewhere.
Highly recommend. The facility is clean, efficient, and well organized. The staff are professional and friendly. I’ve been doing PT sessions w/ Leah for rehab on a bad back injury - she is the absolute best - would recommend her to anyone looking to rehab from a serious injury. Very knowledgeable, patient, and great to work with.
There is a small flight of stairs upon entry which can be a bit of a challenge for some people. They have an absolutely amazing masseuse named Sophie who has changed my life! Depending on your insurance plan you may get massages covered so definitely try her. The facility is very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
I have an attentive therapist who is truly interested to help me get better, and is a good listener; my rehab program is thoughtfully constructed and modified as needed; and I've learned a number of exercises to help me maintain my strength. This is the second Spear center I have used and both have been excellent.
The team at SPEAR PT has been a wonderful partner n my recovery from knee surgery. The facility is very hospitable and the staff exhibits a sincere concern for my successful recovery. My physical therapist, (Art) is very knowledgeable and gives me great confidence that I will recover with full potential. E. Smith
I've had a really great experience at Spear particularly working with Scott. He's super personable, highly knowledgeable in his field, and clearly invested in my well-being. The facilities are very nice. There is a noticeable positive team dynamic among the staff, which greatly enhances the overall experience.
I've used Spear on two separate occasions for a host of issues and both times they've been fantastic. First Hannah, then Jacinthe, they're both attentive, knowledgeable, and fun to work with. They make sure they understand how you're feeling each time and adjust accordingly. I recommend them wholeheartedly.
I couldn't walk without feeling pain the first time I went to Spear, and now I am running more than ever in my life. Jacinthe is amazing. She not only helped me recover from the injury, but also designed a program to make me a stronger runner that I am sure will prevent other injuries and make me faster.
I have been going to Spear for a few weeks and truly love the staff. My PT Michelle is super amazing and really listens and tries to help with your problem. I came in with a really bad headache due to my stiff neck, poor posture at work and being on the computer all day. Highly recommend Spear !!
Everyone at the Bklyn Heights location knows what they’re doing; I’ve worked with several of them, and they’ve all helped me make real progress since my knee surgery. And invaluable bonus: every single person here — the PT folks and the receptionists — is absolutely lovely. Couldn’t be happier!
Alberto Segura's knowledge is amazing. He figured out the root causes of the pain and stiffness I was experiencing. He explained clearly what was causing problems and worked patiently to help me move comfortably again and rebuild strength. Working with him was a completely positive experience.
SPEAR is the best. Nicole is an exceptionally talented and knowledgeable trainer; moreover, all the staff are professional and friendly. The facilities are impeccable and well-equipped. I have found the on-line home regimen tailored to my needs extremely helpful. Highest reccommendation.
After years of ineffectual PT the team at Spear were able to actually diagnose my problem, identify the causes and put me on s path to recovery. I was especially impressed with how they were able to get me back to pain free running—something I thought I’d never be able to do again.
I’ve been working with Brittany for 2 months and she’s been great! I sprained my ankle and right now having issues with my back from the WFH situation. She is very attention to detail and creative with the workouts to ensure I will be 100%. Definitely recommend going to SPEAR.
Spear Physical Therapy has twice helped me recover from an injury. They are very flexible with scheduling and understanding if you need to cancel an appointment. Staff has been very friendly and patient. Can particularly recommend Suvarna Jangada as a physical therapist.
This place is great, the therapist are knowledgeable and looking at for their patients. The equipment is always kept clean and the place it nice overall. They have a big slogan on the wall that says Life Can’t Wait and it motivates you on the rough days to push through.
I had physical therapy at Spear in Brooklyn Heights with Leah Brodfuehrer and I cannot recommend her enough. If something didn't work she adjusted exercises to get me at my best. Leah even adjusted the exercise plan i did at home. I would highly recommend her and Spear.
My experience with Spear Brooklyn Heights has been amazing. My therapist Devon is wonderful. She is very professional, knowledgable and caring. My condition improved very quickly under her guidance. The staff has been just lovely and I highly recommend this facility.
I found Spear Physical Therapy to be very well organized and it's staff professional and reliable. My experience with the therapist I was assigned for knee problems and vestibular dizziness was/is excellent. I recommend Spear to anyone looking for physical therapy.
Spear Physical Therapy on Clark is the best. Scott has been a great PT; I'm feeling so much better after only a few visits. He listens and is genuinely interested in making each visit pleasant and productive Everything from scheduling to billing has been a breeze.
I love Spear Physical Therapy and the Downtown BK facility in particular! Connor has been an amazingly support PT, and over the last 6 weeks has enabled me to make huge improvements in healing from my knee injury. Can't recommend them, and Connor, highly enough!
Big fan of Spear, and have unfortunately needed their services 3 times. Everyone I've seen for care has been great. Most recently, Chris is doing a great job helping me with my knee rehabilitation. Hopefully I'll never need PT again, but if I do it will be here
I’ve been going to Christina Bateman for pelvic floor therapy after giving birth, and she’s wonderful. So knowledgeable, gentle but with authority. I highly recommend her! The facility is clean and the rest is the staff create a really friendly environment.
The professionalism from the staff and the excellent experience from PT Valarie Aziebe. From the 1st consultation she made me feel comfortable. Spending my time on physical therapy with and her had helped me tremendously. I recommend Spear PT to everyone.
I've had a great experience so far at Spear. Leah is helping me work through a quad strain - lots of strengthening and stretching with exercises to do on my own throughout the week. I always feel comfortable at the facility and Leah is a great listener!
I’ve had to go to physical therapy for 5 different issues over the last several years. Spear is by far the best PT group I have been to. The are experts, really friendly and the space is really nice. I’d recommend them to anyone who needs good care!
Spear Physical Therapy is top notch! Wonderful and experienced therapists and office staff. Everyone is so hospitable and knowledgeable. I trust and highly recommend them! Cristina's departure was a big loss...please find a new pelvic PT ASAP.
The therapists at Spear display just the right balance of kindness and prodding, encouragement and forcefulness, commiseration and discipline. No matter what The nature of cause of your injury, the entire practice rallies around your progress.
My occupational therapist, Cali Ann Canal, has helped me tremendously to heal a broken wrist during the past four months. Her care, concern, kindness, knowledge, expertise, professionalism and friendship have accompanied me throughout the
My first experience at Spear. Christina Cottrell and the entire staff was professional and competent. The facility was clean and well run. I especially appreciated the respect and patience given to seniors. This is not always the case!
Spear PT is such a great place for all your different types of physical therapy needs. I have seen a couple therapists for varying issues I have had and they have all helped get me back on track to feeling my best. Highly recommend!
SPEAR Physical Therapy center is a very friendly, comfortable place to go through the process of rehabilitation. I can recommend it to everybody who needs this type of therapy. My personal therapist Jacinthe Duvinage is the most
The physical therapy I received from SPEAR was the best I have ever had. The therapists are caring, personable, efficient, knowledgable, and very specific to the needs of each client. My therapist, Chris Cottrell was wonderful !
Great professional staff and positive atmosphere. The place is busy but they accommodate your needs schedule wise anyway. Therapists are very patient oriented. I love the home exercise program that is provided via an app.
Spears is very professionally run with caring, competent staff. Somer, my physical therapist, developed a treatment regimen for my knee problem which has been so helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend both Somer and Spears.
This is a great practice. From my first session with Devon, it was clear that she cared about my recovery and took the time to learn about my history before making a custom plan for me. Thank you to the whole SPEAR team!
Nick Puleo was fantastic! He was patient, knowledgeable and personable. He helped me with an IT band and sciatica issue. I am pain-free for the first time in 6 months and can return to running. I highly recommend Nick.
I look forward to my PT sessions with Spear. This is my second time using them and both times I found the therapists both professional, knowledgable and enjoyable. The facility is inviting and clean and well organized.
I've had a wonderful experience at Spear Physical Therapy; the therapist is understanding, patient, and attentive, and I have made great progress. The atmosphere is encouraging and the whole place is kept very clean.
I’ve been going to Alberto Segura for a post op rehab and he’s a magician. The place believes is doing the exercise during your session instead of knowing what to do and being asked to do it at home. Highly recommend
I can't say enough good things about Art, the physical therapist who works with me. An excellent listener and really thoughtful in his approach, with lots of great suggestions and exercises to get me moving again.
A five star approval along with a high-five to Christina and her crew including Sandra and Shonell for leading me through my rehabilitation with professionalism and understanding kindness! Thank you. K. Bliss
I loved my experience at Spear! Their staff treated well, I felt like family. They were great with scheduling, and they were great about filling out paperwork for my insurance company. Highly recommended!
Everyone at Spear is so helpful and supportive! I've been working with Somer Meyers for the past few months and I've seen so much improvement. Highly recommend Spear to anyone in need of physical therapy!
Scott and several other therapists worked with me for six months after a skiing accident and subsequent shoulder surgery. Great staff, great location, flexible scheduling, and eventually a full recovery!
My Back kills me after surgery in 2016 and I have neuropathy in my feet and toes and calves an Stephanie has done great work for me. Even three days later my quads hurt and I love the ache. Jim Mattimore
My second time with Spear and both times have been extremely professional and welcoming. This last time I had Leah who made me feel so comfortable and challenged me which I appreciated. Great place.

Brittany and the other DPTs are highly qualified and focused Physical Therapists. I recommend Spear and all of the professionals who work there. This is a very good organization that does it right.
I have been going to SPEAR for 5 weeks to work on regaining strength and movement in my foot that was operated on. I've noticed great improvements and will continue to go. Great staff and facility!
Have been working with Jacinthe here for about 2 months and feeling a huge difference. Super knowledgeable staff, clean & spacious facilities, never any issues with billing/insurance. Great place.

My doctor referred me for pelvic floor therapy. I was skeptical, but met with Devon, the pelvic floor specialist, about 8 times and am SO glad I did. All the work and visits were so worth it!
Nice facility, highly knowledgeable staff, and very friendly vibe. Cali Ann Canal is terrific and helped me greatly with shoulder and hand therapy. Highly recommend this location for OT/PT.
Devon Dinegar is superb! She is extremely knowledgeable, particularly with regards to the pelvic floor. She’s kind, professional and supportive. The facility is clean. Highly recommend.
It has been such a pleasure working on my balance at SPEAR. I have learned so much and my confidence is growing too. Thank you, Leah, for your hard work and encouragement!

Spear is incredible! The facility is great and my PT, Somer helped heal my shoulder and is helping me with my foot pain. I highly recommend Spear in Brooklyn Heights.
It’s the Therapist that makes the difference. Alberto is knowledgeable and professional tell him where it herts and he corrects it. The rest of the staff is caring
My therapist, Hannah, is incredible! Considering I walked in there completely tilted to one side, her techniques helped a lot! Highly recommend, she’s a pro!
Alberto is amazing, my shoulder is in such better shape in a matter of weeks! He’s so knowledgeable and super fun to train with!
