ST JAMES COLLEGE — BENTLEIGH EAST TO ALL MY FRIENDS—- PLZ SHARE THIS AS MUCH AS U CAN MY SON KHUSH KHANNA 13 yrs old goes to st james college as a grade 8 student. Yesterday the 12th of June , after the lunch break, as the kids were queuing up to get back to the classes, his foot got stuck at the pavement , to prevent himself falling , he kept his hand on the back of the student standing next to him ( that student was a grade 9 student ), on this this grade 9 student turned around and punched my son on the nose and forehead due to which my son passed out and had a fall , according to one of the teachers standing nearby, grade 9 student punched my son 6 times . The school didn’t bother to call an ambulance , instead they called me 18 minutes after the incident telling me about the medical emergency and Asking me if i was around, come and collect my son and take him to the hospital, which I eventually did. My son was half unconscious and bleeding from the nose with red eyes and swollen nose. We were at Monash hospital all afternoon till late before my son was released from the hospital with luckily no head injury but a minor fracture in the nose which the doctors say will heal itself in few days and asked him to have a weeks rest. The school today sent me an email saying that they had a meeting with the grade nine student’s family and they have come to a conclusion that the grade 9 student was acting in self defence. My son is so terrified to go to school again as he was hit with a cricket wicket on his head last year while he was watching a cricket game at the school on the side of the oval, he was lucky to be not hurt badly that time and the school told us the boy who hit my son with a wicket had a medical condition, we let it go in that case. I live in keysborough and can send my son to any school around, i pay $7000 to send him to St James College to get badly hurt— what an idiot I am. I am gonna take this to the police and media and get justice for my son. FRIENDS PLZ SHARE THIS AS MUCH AS U CAN AND THINK TWICE BEFORE SENDING UR KID TO ST JAMES COLLEGE

School is school, but before this was merged with St Bede's I went to school here. It's difficult to recommend as this school only goes up to Year 10. Although the transition to the Mentone campus may be easy, it's not easy especially for locals in the area. I won't ponder on about that, though. Let me just write down my own experience. I'm neurodivergent, and this school wasn't the place for me. I often saw bullying happening and nothing happening, and being complacent in bullying carries on in life as I've seen, so why is this taking place in a place where people are in that time of their life most important for development? This needs to be drilled into people's minds and dealt with promptly. We don't want a following from what we've heard from other private schools in Melbourne... I also saw a fellow friend trying to receive the support he needed since he had autism and learning difficulties, and didn't receive ample support. He left I think at the end of Y8. I also needed support but it was really difficult as the higher level support person was, ill-tempered at best, but also was lazy. Always on their iPad doing something and not really paying attention. I wish I got paid to stand around and browse social media. It was good coming later to the year, classes and people were known well enough to have quite balanced classes. It's good to keep and remove a lot of teachers, and I especially miss all of the arts / music / drama teachers, they were always absolutely lovely to just have a chat with - along with other teachers, although it's also been quite a few years! Overall, there was good and bad parts of attending school here. It wasn't good for me, even after having access to the psychologist and a little bit of study support. I would most likely recommend the surrounding public schools if you need more help in that regard. I also hope they've actually moved from using iPads and tablets all together...

I attended here (St James College at the time) back between years 1997 and 2000. I had a terrible experience at this school that failed me with my past experiences and left me with mental scars for life. I was physically and verbally bullied nearly everyday and on a few occasions became very angry and violent because the school would not help me with me being bullied, so the only way for me to feel better about what to do was at that time my father taught me to hit back only at school because back in year 1962 my father was bullied at his school as a child and he broke another students nose as payback because the teachers would not sort out the problems. My father did not get into any trouble for being provoked. Year 8 and Year 10 were my worst years at this school, I never received any support from any of my teachers for my suffering. Very disappointed with my childhood experience.

Horrible school, rude students, rude teachers, lots of abuse towards students with disabilities. Threatening teachers. Illegal activities. Absolutely horrible toxic environment. Toilets are absolutely discusting. Everyone treats you like rubbish. Never felt so useless in my life. Teachers didn't care about what students do in the grounds. Students are scared for life is there are around the wrong group. Taught false information. Made students cry. Should be investigated and should be bulldozed down to make was for something more useful such as tip.

As a ex student and my nephews attend st James in the 80 and at the turn of the century. We were always told that once you wear the school uniform you represent the school My wife and daughter gets the 701 bus to oakleigh at 8:10 am. Seniors students from you school swears as if it was in there vocabulary. The students get off on Brady Rd and cross the park to get to school. The standard of the the school from when l went in the 80 to my nephew in the start of century have dropped somewhat Yours sincerely Cataldo Mase

well that whole khush khana situation started with him, if you have the audacity to play your son as the victim in that situation where he was full on calling the *person who punched your kid* a communist and a viet-cong as a racial slur towards his type of people, this is unacceptable with your response and your kid had it coming from the start. and that's apparently just the start of it, i am hearing from other people that he called the person worse things.

The students there are plain horrible. In sports all they do is play dirty. In one sport occasion, I experienced an accident where a Saint bedes student knocked out another student in Whiteftiars college and they were out cold for 40 minutes. The saint bedes student didn't even apologize, but laugh. In hockey, saint bedes injured, hurt, and swore at us. The teachers teach them wrong, and I wouldn't suggest putting your child into this horrible school.

As a previous student this school is HORRIBLE would never send anyone here my parents decided to send my little brother somewhere else. School is full off bullies and teachers who pick on kids they dont like by excluding them from all sporting activities, camps ect trying to find any little excuse they can if they dont like you. Grow up teachers your adults not kids picking on teenagers

Terrible school started in 2014 left at the end of the year. most of the kids are bullies. the teachers are mean and don't know anything and the principle is not good at handling bullies either. If you are thinking about sending your son to this school take him somewhere else. one of the worst schools in Melbourne

Hi, I’m personally upset with the dim dim output. There’s not enough dims sims being cooked at lunch and snack. If I’m late by 30 seconds, around 30 dimmies have been sold. That’s 1 per second. Also I need 2 soy sauce packs if I order 3 or more. Other than that pretty noiceee

Awesome school. St James is a small school so individual attention is possible. Well run, great teachers, good discipline. Do not see any bullying as noted by other reviews. We are happy to have chosen St James for our son.

School was full of bullies and teachers that were complacent in bullying. I know a couple current students and to no surprise all, they aren’t any better than the bullies that were there when I was a student.

I was a student at st James from 1991 to 1994. Obviously things have changed since then but it was a half decent school to attend. Shout out to mr pooley who was my homeroom teacher at st bedes 1995 to 96!

Went there from 2011 to 2014. What a great school with great knowledgeable teachers. Good fun, friendly students, and awesome times. It may only go to Year 10, but it well prepares you for VCE and beyond

Great school, prepares your son for the real world. Really good environment to study in and to make new friends. Wouldn't recommend any other school to send your son to!

  • Nicolas Tsiakos_

The best school, it had provided a unforgettable and amazing environment for students providing them with life skills and positive study habits.

  • George Roukakis

Better than St Bede's but still a bully mentality. At least it was mutlicultural.
