Fantastic school with a wide range of subjects on offer whether your child is sports orientated or creative like art or textiles or more hands-on like being motor mechanic or woodwork or more academic. Passionate teachers who are dedicated and approachable. The leadership team are also very approachable and happy to have them contact you. Responds to any queries very promptly and follows up issues. The office staff are also very helpful. My child has special needs and they organised an Aide for her & Special Provisions for sitting exams and the GAT - and are very supportive with whatever she needs. We meet with the Inclusion Team (who support students with Special Needs) every term and go over any issues that have arisen and to make sure that my child is happy with the supports in place or if we need to change something. My child has been very happy at this school and is now in Year 12. The school has had significant building upgrades (which are still continuing at the moment) and recently opened a new gym so the facilities are really good. I really loved how supportive the school was for my child during our COVID Lockdowns. The teachers were happy to be contacted anytime - even well into the evening - and one of my child's teachers even sent Care Packages to her students which made my child's day. The school also organised Challenges during Lockdown like walking each day, cooking a meal etc. with prizes for the students. Those things really helped keep my child motivated during such a difficult time. Have no hesitation in recommending this school.
The end of a term provides an opportunity to both reflect and plan ahead. In reflecting on the past term, our first in Australia after our arrival from South Africa mid-year, we certainly cannot let this pass without saying a VERY BIG THANK YOU to all the teachers and staff at St Helena who worked with our boys. What impressed us most were their availability to assist, their commitment and professionalism, and their caring attitude and patience with us as we adjusted to the new environment and systems through what was a difficult time for us as a family. It would have been considerably different without this support. We regard ourselves very fortunate to have them attend such a good school and are looking forward to next term as we conclude the year! I have had the pleasure of coordinating Debutante events at St Helena Secondary College for the last 17 years. Each group of students has been wonderful to direct, and a pleasure to spend time with. This is a credit to their families, their school, their school community and their supportive school principals. During this awful time teachers and the principal have Worked hard to assist students with distant learning and even have checked in on me. Thank you to St Helena, I await the next debutante ball in October can’t wait to work together with the students, families, the community who will support the students and the whole teaching staff and of course the Principal. Welcome back students.
I personally did not like this school very much. I found that there is a lot of bullying at st Helena in all year levels but the teachers do nothing about it. I feel the teachers care more about the uniform then the learning itself as this is just how I feel. The well-being support group didn’t help me on any way and I found that they just said it’s ok and sent me back to class without helping me. I personally think this school was not suitable for me and if u are the type of person that wants a chill school then this is not the fit for u in my opinion. I’m not hating on the school in any way just by my experience but the subjects and learning curriculum is great as I found!

I have nothing but praise for St Helena. My Children both attended SHSC with the last leaving some 9 years ago. I was council president during my time there and after a few years not being involved with the school, I wanted to give back to the community. What better way than going back on council as a community member. What I have experienced the last 3 years only confirms that SHSC is a great school to send your kids. The school motto “Dare to be Excellent” says it all. Excellence at its best.
Absolutely brilliant school. Could not be happier since changing schools. Teachers and extended staff are friendly and approachable. Academics of this school surpasses what we have experienced in the past. Firm but extremely fair teaching approach. We, as a family should have made this change a long time ago! To all the staff and the principal of St. Helena....thank you for making the school environment such a safe, happy and positive place.
Complaining about uniform and things like that does not help at all I found teacher are good Very resourceful school So the rest is up to students After all it is public schools Student has to make the most out of it a n d it is really up to students as what they want to achieve complaint does not help We don't live in perfect world and there iu s not such as thing as perfect school
Such a supportive environment for the students, great communication, and very dedicated staff! Their technology is so modern 1:1 very good social media presence. It is clear that St Helena really cares about their students and their learning! Thank you for your dedication to our young people!!
I have decided to send my son to this amazing school. I am so impressed by the school culture and it’s aim to assist every student to be they best they can be no matter what their abilities. I’m looking forward to seeing my son prosper and grow at this bright and shining secondary school.
I would like to commend St Helena for their prompt and detailed communication during the Covid-19 crisis. The transition to remote learning was smooth and with little technical fault. Such a supportive school and positive learning environment.
A big thank you to St Helena!!! Your response during the current situation has been state of the art. The use of Microsoft Teams and OneNote have meant that the students could easily learn from home without missing out of valuable curriculum.
Has high expectations of students (hence some of their negative reviews) and a passionate and committed staff. Strong focus on student outcomes - both pastorally and academically. Offers pathways for all abilities which is a huge plus.
This is by far the best high school i love it so much if you're considering going i would 12/7 recommend it's so good! The teachers are amazing and are so nice i wish i could stay there my whole life and just live there! •○●□■♤♡◇♧
St Helena is an excellent school:) the only issue is that the uniform is not in forced on the boys as much it is on the girls in winter:( but apart from that St Helena has outstanding facilities and academic standards:)
Amazing school! Extremely supportive and caring staff, fabulous communication and amazing opportunities on offer... circumstance has me with 4 kids at 4 different schools and St Helena definitely goes above and beyond.
Thankful for all the work and effort the school, its leaders and teachers have put into the remote learning for Term 2. We have a wonderful community supporting each other during these interesting times.
This school is actually so bad the teachers care more about uniforms then education and are wayyy too noses about your mental health and outside of school life don’t send your teens here …
I ate my homework because i didn't finish it, i told the teacher my dog ate it. 11/10 100% true story... (not true, sorry...) Real review: I basically live here
Two children at ST Helena - very happy with the care of the teachers during the covid crisis and how the school has managed online learning!
Terrible school if u get bad marks they kick you out apart for helping you get better!! But when you leave you would want to go back!!!
My only concern with this school is the abysmal spelling of all those 'reviewers' who gave it one star....I assume they're students.
Very bad school teachers all ways making more problems. It's to much of a strict school I don't recommend this school to anyone
why do people hate this school so much, it's not bad and has fast internet! these low reviews are simply an act of rebellion.
Love the vibe and community at SHSC. The teachers are all very knowledgeable and have great relationships with each other.
I went here from year 7-12, and it was absolutely amazing. I’m definitely going to send my kids here when theyre older.
School bad, uniform the stricest, me get in much trouble, english bhed cause thay care more about edukashen. plz help
they dont care about students mental health as they only care about a students coloured socks or piercings.
only a couple good teachers but the school by its self is bad. they care more bout socks than learning.
I got dress coded for wearing a ring that wasn’t flat topped Cares too much about socks I hate it here
Once witnessed a student smoking an apple bong on the oval. The PE teachers saw him and did nothing.
@sophietrainor finally someone who appreciates this beautiful school ! #banjo4lyf
teachers are to strict and you get detentions for nothing you cant have fun here
strict education, But you learn easily thanks to the help of the good teachers
I have a friend (in Melbourne) who speaks highly of the school. …
Great school and fantastic communication and support during COVID-19 lockdown
they lied and said that it was fedora friendly... and I had mine confiscated
I do not like it here. They care more about my shoes then my mental health.
most of the lessons the teachers are sending kids out instead of teaching
its a boys and girls school so that means there is cooties Parade 4 life
Uniform. It's really strict, but not as strict as some other schools.
