I left the bank with much frustration, and I can’t possibly explain the relief of just exiting the bank. Firstly it’s pathetic that there is only 3 consultants, there is no one to manage who enters the bank, no security, and what freak me out was how full the bank was no one practicing social distance. No one on the floor to assist anyone who walks in. I won’t lie I’ll not be returning to that branch it was most scary. One consultant who was assisting my husband with cash whiles the rest is shouting to be helped. I do not advise even getting money from this branch it feels most unsafe. In all honesty I don’t see why they cut there staff and lay such burdens on the current staff to help a village of people. The main reason for coming to standard bank was to help us set up and activate our banking app and let me just say my husband spent 2 days with the bank and no success in helping him there staff can’t even help you they don’t know what to do. I had to phone customer service for assistance and thank God someone with knowledge assisted me, within 2 mins I was all sorted. Thank you Thulani

New to the area and decided to take our business to this branch as it is closer than Tyger manor. Well we now have to swollow our regret as the one consultant provided at the enquiry desk was so unhelpful to say the least. She definitely is not happy in her job and throughout the time spent with her, sucking out information from her, not once did she refer to myself or my husband as Mr and Mrs. It was either he or she. Very unprofessional. She then sent us off to the home loan cubicle to attend to other customers and from then on gave little attention to the point that we both started to argue over her lack of acknowledging that we are the customers asking her for help. She actually told the customer she was assisting to at the time that I have an attitude and they went onto discuss this. She eventually called some other staff from the back to assist us. We could have spent close to 2 hours and accomplished little. She should be fired.

Got an sms, arrived at the bank last Friday to get new credit and debit cards. Only 4 people waiting to be served. I waited 40 minutes, then left (the other 4 people were still waiting). Monday I returned, only 2 people in the bank. Waited 30 minutes and was served… only to be told they don’t have my credit card. I contacted my prestige banker, who confirmed that the card was delivered the previous Friday. Today I went back… again 5 people waiting to be served. 45 minutes later I got up and complained that nobody had been served. The lady responded to say they’re busy (but for 45 minutes, some longer than me, including a lady well in her eighties, sat waiting and nobody was served). I left again as I had to get back to work… I’ve been with SB for 33 years… What happened to SIMPLER, BETTER, FASTER??

BAD BAD BAD BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the service is non existing at all. A few times I wanted to draw money on the inside of the bank because it is safer, but they would have allot of stories of why not and I should go outside, even if I agree to the fee to draw inside they would not help me. Now when we wanted to cash a cheque you have to call first, they have people in positions that would rather be on their phones than to help you or it is people that does not know how their system works or cant answer your questions.This is the baddest Standard Bank I have ever been to (and I have been to a few). I would actually rate them with minus 5 , but there is no option..

I would rate the staff member who assisted me lower than a 1 star bit the app does not allow a zero rating. The consultant was texting on her phone for most of the time while "assisting " ....barely assisting us. We spent 1,5 hrs in a queue, then another 1.5hr with Keisha, the consultant, all just to change a current youth account to a student one. Inefficient service and we still have to return for the bank card itself. Good GOD! How long will we wait then! Without co19, I doubt the service itself will improve. I agree with the previous comments and ratings....this branch should not exist if the staff keep delivering a below average service.

Definitely a very neglected branch. I think the team tried their best but systems need to be put in place that mirror the technology age we are in. To have a front desk computer not working is unheard of especially in a bank. No security. No structure. I had a terrible wait for 3 hours while a consultant on the phone man-splained to myself and Pamela everything we had already done and tried to fix a simple problem. Honestly unacceptable and unhelpful service from standard bank in general. Pamela, one of the branch's consultants,was a star with how patient she was. Her patience was the main reason I sat and waited for so long.

The most shocking service at Standard Bank Durbanville. Always queues at the tellers. No acknowlegement at all. The worst ever branch manager. No assistance what so ever!!!! Next to Telkom this must be the absolute worst run business in Cape Town.!!!!!!! Will definately not have a personal account here!!!!! Staff see you hit totally ignore you and think it's funny. The manageress should be trained and maybe the staff won't follow her lead. JUST SHOCKING!!!!!!! Worst ever ...... This will be the absolute last place to take out any loans. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH STANDARD BANK!!!!!

I cancellation my credit card on 2nd of January after being robbed and after many calls and miss information that Durbanville branch was closed down finally got to Durbanville today 26th January to find it open. I was the only customer in there waiting for a consultant so that I could collect my new card. There were only two consultants on duty who were busy with their cell phones and laughing while I sat waiting for almost 10 minutes. When I finally got to see one she couldn't find my card as it was miss filed. Something needs to be done about the service at this branch.

I would score less but cant. 3rd time here, only one consultant on site. No customer service. All I want is to pick up a card??? There is no customer communication but a rolling advert telling you how great they are but its a joke. Avoid this place if you can or come and enjoy the AC for a couple of hours. If Lockdown wast bad enough this is a fresh new hell where you get nothing but the bombardment of advertising like owning DSTV but not in the comfort of your own home with a prohibition style labeless bottle next to you.

Extremely slow service. Yes, it's covid regulations but even so they clearly aren't capable of planning. Not only this, the woman at the front who allows entry, checks temperature etc, is not suited for a job in customer service. Unpleasant tone. Unpleasant body language. Unpleasant interaction. Just such a condescending, and narcissistic persona. The second time I've been here and this person alone has ruined my experience.

Got asked to stand out side while being in a que inside for 10 minutes. Only saw one staff member. No one at the door, no one inside. How is this branch still open? At Absa you are greeted at the door politely guided and assisted. Tried to phone customer service, after holding for 8 minutes I hung up. To phone and get my business done did not take that long in total with Absa. This branch and Standard Bank is pathetic.

Short of staff. I'd to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes before beginning help. MANAGEMENT help your staff!!!!! The lady who helped me was very friendly, but staff should not have to deal with angry customers just because management doesn't put enough employees on duty during Saturdays. Working people can't just go to the bank in the week!!!

This ATM probably only accepts cash 1 day a week if you’re lucky... and the inside closes at 3.30pm like it’s still 1975... all round pathetic. So if you have cash, rather spend it because these guys don’t know what to do with it. I have one standard bank account, and it’s 2 too many for me!

Extremely slow service. Staff sit around without helping customers. No system to help clients who want to collect a card first. Everyone sits is a super slow line waiting. Many customers walked away without being helped. This branch needs a hands-on manager.

Still sit with no guidance or feedback as you wait, with long wait times. Staff just do not care and have just become cold probably because the service is so bad they have accepted the fact they will get complaints daily.

Worst Service ever, have been sitting alone in the bank waiting to collect a card for 45 minutes. Teller sits and does nothing but wont attempt to assist. Not even worth 1 star.
