Marvelous service from Steenberg Motors. My car had broken down unexpectedly. When I called them on Monday morning from the road side I spoke to a gentleman named by Chad, one of the main mechanics. He assured me that he could come out immediately. I thanked him and prepared to settle down for about an hours wait. Instead he was with me in twenty minutes. On closer inspection by himself and a work colleague I was informed that my clutch had gone and gave me an estimate cost. I had mentioned that it would unfortunately need to be repaired and if he could please proceed. They kindly drove me home first and returned to tow the vehicle to the workshop. The following day they called to inform me that they were outside my door with the car. A complete surprise as I had been expecting only to hear from them two or three days later. They had replaced the clutch. The The changing of gears is more precise and reverse gear is no longer a struggle to get into, something that the agents had never been able to achieve. A pleausre to actually drive it now. The price was within what they quoted and extremely honest. So grateful for having listened to the multiple recommendations that I had received for Steenberg Motors. Shall continue to be taking my car there and our organizations vehicles and would not hestitate to refer others. Many thanks to Chad and the marvelous team at Steenberg motors for such quick, honest and no hassle service. Profound guys.

Originally I was very happy with the service, but a second visit to Steenberg Motors left me wanting. Serviced my vehicle with them a month ago, I saw there was something off with the water tank so I took it in. Charged me 2 grand to service a small vehicle, never checked the water or coolant. I took it back after a petrol attendant picked up there's oil in the water tank. Took the vehicle back, they took one look at the tank and said without any doubt "yeah no that's bad". Now here's what really upset me. Walked back into the office where the congregation of staff were waiting like a firing squad. Got an old quote out and told me with no uncertainty that the fix will cost me a minimum of 7.5k, but more likely 12.5k. They asked me what I wanted to do and I said I'd rather drive it off a cliff. The man on the right said "if you can make it to the cliff" and then "maybe think as far as Muizenberg and not any further". All good and well to point out something wrong with the car, but he's lucky I didn't smack him over his table. Completely unprofessional service and staff that seem to relish your misfortune, PLUS no word on why they didn't pick up the problem to begin with. Lost all respect for the place and won't be going back. My advice, be very careful. Seems like good old mechanics are lost in SA.

I have been servicing my vehicle for years at Steenberg, the staff are friendly and helpful, just want to thank Zaahir and Willy for the extra mile yesterday. I use my 2001 vehicle for quite heavy off-roading and Zaahir and the staff has always accommodated my somewhat pedantic checks included in my service, which I require so that I can trust my vehicle when in the boonies. I had some paint damage on my vehicle and without me asking to look at that, they took the initiative and buffed it out for me, did not expect that from them, but really appreciated the extra effort on their behalf.

I have used Steenberg motors about 5 times and each and every time I have a bad experience. From me getting a huge shock at my bill with no communication of how much i was in for, to poor service, and even breakages (my key completely broke last time I got it back). The only reason I've kept going is because of convenience. They are literally down the road from me. But no more, I'm fed up with the bad experiences I have every single time!!

These people don't deserve a star (but you can't post unless you give them 1 star - grrrr). NO CUSTOMER SERVICE at all. They break your car! They never phone you. No apologies from them for the time they've had the car. They don't have the correct tools and in the process break the car and expect the customer to pay for it. BE WARNED. I don't normally write any reviews but want the entire Cape Town to know. STAY AWAY from Steenberg Motors

2nd time i took my car to Steenverg motors. Quick service and replaced everything. Apparently i was undercharged as i was not informed of all the replacements and extra cost that were made before my approval. It is a tough time, and yet they still helped. I will be taking my car for future refernce so by helping me you will continue to have an ongoing paying customer

They broke a part while repairing another part, and we were without our car for seven weeks as a result. By the time the new part arrived, they'd broken something else. In the end there were 3 parts to repair, when we'd only had one simple "one day or two" repair to begin with. They are the worst repair people I have ever dealt with in 21 years of car ownership.

Old school! Guys in uniform with clip boards listening to everything you have to say whilst walking around the car and writing everything down. They are meticulous and they won't miss a thing. They always want your service book up to date! They also don't want to rip you off and will always make a plan for you.

I was quite impressed with the service I received more so the little things... fixing minor things like my licence disc that was falling,washing the car inside and out and explaining the technical bits of what the service entailed were so nice. I would definitely go to them again to service my car :)

Took my MG TF160 there yesterday to have the gearbox and engine oil/filters changed. They have vast experience with these types of cars and I had the best service experience I have had yet, would highly recommend Adam and Steenberg Motors. Will definitely become a regular customer :)
