Not recommended for curly/frizzy/coarse or 4C type of hair. The hairdresser, Maha did not know what to do and she said I was the first client with very curly, thick hair she's worked with. Apparently, she's only worked on straight or wavey type of hair only. Making my hair a challenge for a hairdresser that is supposed to know how to do ALL types of hair; otherwise, the salon could be honest with their clients about not having professional hairdressers that could do ALL types of hair or they can just put a sign "Only straight or wavey hair clients can go in here!" Not to mention, as soon as I sat on the chair, she told me to not cross my legs. No idea why. As if we were in school, but since I'm a respectful person, I changed my posture in accordance with her desire. Not only it made me uncomfortable and worried that I was gonna pay probably a lot (which I did), Maha was complaining about my hair and even suggested I go to another hair salon that could do "my hair" and said that Suite Thirteen salon booked her twice for me as if that's my fault. She made comments here and there and everything mostly about my hair and everyone knows you're supposed to feel amazing and beautiful after leaving the salon, I left feeling terrible and I totally regret ever stepping foot into Suite Thirteen. The only positive experience was the person who washed my hair. They were very sweet and complimented my hair even before I got it done. I paid $90 to feel bad and it was my first time ever at a hair salon, indeed a negative experience but you live and learn and I'm obviously never going back to Suite Thirteen. If you're curly thick or 4C haired, keep looking elsewhere.

When my family and I moved to Ottawa from Vancouver, we were worried about finding a great hairdresser. We had a great hairdresser in Vancouver for over 10 years. My mom and I started going to a hair dresser (not at Suite Thirteen) a few times and after that hair dresser did a horrible dye job, I decided to try Suite Thirteen a chance as I desperatly needed a colour correction (I could not go around in public looking like Ronald McDonald with bright red-orange hair). This was in October 2018. I saw Courtney at Suite Thirteen and she was fabulous! We went over options of what colour to dye my hair. We decided to dye my hair a colour similar to my original hair colour. I got so many compliments from co-workers about my new colour and cut. My mom and I saw Courtney for a few years but she has moved to Western Canada. My mom and I decided to try Amal as clients look like a movie star after having Amal (or her sister, Maha) cut their hair. My mom and I couldn't be any happier with Amal! She has been cutting our hair for about two years and always does a fabulous job. Amal listens to what you want to have done to your hair and whatever amount of hair you want cut off, she will cut off that amount and not cut more off. Amal has also dyed my hair a few times and each time, it comes out perfect! Both Amal and Maha (who is the owner) are so nice and friendly. You always feel welcomed and are in good hands with them. There is also plenty of free parking in front.

Without fail, she recreates my desired style perfectly, leaving me with hair that's beautifully styled and rejuvenated. Amal brings an amazing personal touch to my salon experience. Her warm and friendly demeanor creates delightful conversations and shared laughter. It's not just a haircut, but a wonderful connection that makes every visit truly enjoyable.

First time experience at this salon just now. Honestly I am very pleased with the results. The hairstylists were very professional and did exactly as I wanted. Of course with my jet black hair it is tough to bleach it light but they did a wonderful close enough job and I highly recommend coming here, the ladies were very nice and they hold a lot of experience which clearly shows in their work ethics. I will definitely come back here again!

Absolutely love, love, love this salon! Excellent customer service combined with amazing talent…what more could you ask for!! Maha is phenomenal and has been doing my highlights and cut for the past year and she nails it every single time! I’ve never felt so good about myself and constantly get asked where I get my hair done. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed!

Maha is amazing! I had a pixie cut that was poorly done by a previous stylist from a different saloon. Maha was able to fix that. Her confidence made me feel at ease and relax. She is welcoming, warm, and a very competent stylist.
