I used to be a patient at Sunnybank hills General practice but over the last few months, I've grappled with a range of health issues while concurrently navigating the challenges of severe depression and anxiety. Despite maintaining a patient-doctor relationship with a clinic for over two decades, I've recently come to the stark realization of their inadequacies in attentive care and meaningful support. My health concerns escalated as I experienced persistent symptoms of sickness, dizziness, and exhaustion. Multiple visits to different doctors within the clinic only resulted in dismissive attitudes, accompanied by a series of inconclusive X-rays. It was only when I insisted on a closer examination of a concerning scan that I discovered I had papillary carcinoma, necessitating surgery. What particularly disappointed me was one of the doctor's (Nadia) casual dismissal of the scan findings as an accidental discovery. Had I not sought a second opinion, the diagnosis might have worsened over time. This experience highlighted the clinic's lack of genuine interest and thoroughness in patient care. Fortunately, I've since found a new doctor who has taken a more proactive and attentive approach. I am now in the process of awaiting surgery, grateful for the timely intervention and support I have received from my new healthcare provider. The stark contrast in care has solidified my decision never to return to Sunnybank Hills !! I am optimistic about the care I will receive moving forward. It's crucial for the Sunnybank Hill General Practice team to prioritise educating their doctors, emphasising the need for effective patient interaction, commitment, and compassion, addressing any shortcomings in these vital aspects of care!

For the past 7 years we have been going to this place and considered Dr Rekesh is worth seeing after issues we heard over and over again about the clinic. Three of our children were brought there before and after birth because we can overcome all the annoying waitings, incompetent counter staffs and doctors that just care about no bulk charges so you need to pay for consultation. We still can bear all of these until our last visit where brought my daughter to see the doctor because of a fever (high temp) to ensure see is not infected with something nasty. We were on time, told them we've arrived and waiting to see the doctor. Ok, 30 minutes waiting was fine but waited for 1hour because our daugther was laying down then front counter staff asked her to go to the nurse room. Then, 10 minutes later the nurse came back and said she cannot be here. She needed to stay outside. We went out and waited, finally the doctor come out to see us and said she has a high temp and she needs to go hospital but she still have to wait if she wanted to see me. That time I exploded, how f$@&king long we need to wait? The front reception lady said she dont know that we have waited for more than 1 hour. We just walk away. I feel so disappointed, there is no care of the patient only to themselves. I won't recommend this clinic to anyone.

This practice is seriously a joke, will not be back| Not to mention the rude receptionists, talking to you without even looking at you. I received a letter reminder for the 12months vaccination and on the letter it clearly stated that i can book via esayvisit which is what I did. I showed up to the appointment and was told by Nadia Elahi that she couldn't do the vaccination because the appointment was only for 10mintues and for vaccinations i had to call to book?! She said she can do half of the appointment but just not the vaccination part. Excuse me? that is not what i am here for, I don't need you to tell me how my child is growing when I don't have any questions for you and that you get paid for it. I have never heard of such nonsense, GPs doesn't even administrate vaccinations and the treatment room sure looked empty. If you have such policy in place then why do you send out letters with misleading information! Just because your time is precious doesn't means you can screw around patients. The practice manager was not even apologetic and kept on repeating " I understand, I will pass on your feedback". Poorly organised practice with unprofessional staff!!

The receptionist in this clinic need to do the job right! The white lady with short hair and glasses didn't check patient name at all. Got me waited for 30mins. No doctor attended to me and I went up to check with her, turned out the i came into the wrong clinic. But when I came in firslty and said my son's name and appointment time, she seemed ticked something on her system and asked me to sit down. She didn't even check if she got the right patient. If I didn't go up and check with her, I never know im not booked in the this clinic! What a joke that receptionist can't do basic job right! And I asked her since she got me waited can she just fit us in and she replied bluntly she can't. She said " im sorry" with a very rude tone and just ignored me! No sincere apologise at all. I know I got the wrong clinic but hey you are the receptionist, you should know who you got on file! You could have not wasted my 30mins! Learn to do your job right! Will never come to thic clinic!!!

Seriously the worst practice I have ever been to. I’d give 0 star if I could. I understand that GP’s run late for different reasons and I normally would think ~1hour wait is considered normal. What I couldn’t accept was that when we were there, had waited for an hour, I asked the receptionist how much longer it was going to be, I was told that we were going to be the next one. And half an hour later we were still waiting. Had to ask the receptionist again and got told the same answer. ?? I was not going believe that he was seeing one same patient for over 30mins, it was then the receptionist told me that the doctor also had patients in the treatment room to see. Why told me I was the next one when I clearly was not? So We were waiting for 1.5 hour and still wasn’t sure how much longer? We had to leave straight away as our sick child couldn’t wait any longer and was falling asleep. Please please don’t waste your time at this GP.

Had to wait 50min even I showed up on time. One of doctor didn't inform me that I shouldn't eat any food for 10hours before do blood test. Eventually they refused blood test and I wasted work leave. And the other doctor refer me wrong place to take CT scan which doesn't have a machine for my case. So I had to rebook here for the reference letter. Eventually I wasted my work leave. And some of them keep cut my speech when I explain my symptoms. I wanted to explain about my situation for more clear diagnose. But they just ignored and keep talked me thier own thoughts. Just rushing and rushing. Seems like finish asap and want me to leave. I do not recommend this place If you have serious issue with your health. Just simple flu? That is ok then. Just go and find another place. There are heaps of other better place.

I have been with this general practice for years and I have never been seen on time. My average waiting time is 50 minutes. I have never been seen by the GP on time even I made the first appointment in the morning. Recently this clinic started to charge patients. I had 13 minutes consultation with the doctor and they charged me for a long consultation fee. What I got was a pathology request from. When I made a phone call to ask for a copy of my pathology request because I lost it for some reason, the receptionist told me to pay 10 dollars for it, which was completely unacceptable. It seems to be a very money centered clinic.

This place is always. Running. Late. There is never a single time where Dr Lily Chai is on time. It is always AT LEAST a 40 minute wait for your appointment which is quite laughable because what is the point of making an appointment then? Even when there’s no one else in the waiting area, she will still be running very late. I understand that sometimes consults run over time which has a domino effect for other patients but to be so late every single time is quite disrespectful to be honest because not everyone has time to waste sitting in the waiting room.

I am very angry with the front desk staff. I called them before my appointment, I hope they can call me when is turn to me to see my doctor, and I will arrive in less than a minute. Because their previous appointments will be delayed by more than half an hour. However, when they called me and said that it was my turn to see a doctor, I arrived within a minute. But they said that you have been late for your appointment for 20 minutes. You need to wait another 15 minutes. Waste someone else's time.

My family and I love Sunnybank Hills General Practice. We’ve since moved an hour away however we won’t change practice. Our Dr Nadia is a wonderful, kind and caring doctor. Doctor John Lee See is also a wonderful doctor. The admin workers are always so helpful, kind and nothing ever is a hassle. Yes sometimes they can run late however we also understand it’s a doctors surgery and this can happen from time to time. Overall we are very grateful to have found this practice.

I would of given 5 stars but it wouldn't allow me to. I have nothing but good to say about the centre, staff or doctors. The receptionists have always been caring and courteous and treat you with the utmost respect. Doctors are amazing and I dont mind if I have to wait past my appointment time, as it's very hard to find a doctor these days that your not just a number and want to get you out the door.as.quick as you came in. Fantastic medical centre.

Went to my first doctor and told her what was going on then she was able to get me to book an appointment for a procedure but now on the procedure day I’ve been told she didn’t know anything about the procedure or the information on what needs to be done so when I showed up I wasn’t allowed it because the doctor doing it felt it was PERSONALLY not okay to do on her end. But not having the procedure causes me more bad then good!

I have been with the clinic a long time, however unfortunately I will not be returning. I have taken my toddler in twice in recent months and told he was ‘teething’. The first time he had tonsillitis and the most recent time he had a middle ear infection. His ears and throat weren’t even checked the last time, which I would assume was standard practice. Very upsetting as a parent to know your child was unnecessarily in pain.

Previous visits always had a very long wait. This time I messaged ahead and requested my doctor be on time, and they were! Doc even made a point to ask if I was happy with the service this time. This is a good improvement. It's only fair that a patient's time is respected when a booking has been scheduled. 4 stars are for my good experience last visit. 5 starts are up for grabs if my next visit is also on time. ;)

I found the nurse area, lavatories are clean, as well as nurse also good . Some GP clinic are not really clean, Dr office, nurse area. We have to get used to waiting time for the doctors. I always minimum 1 hr plus. Every GP practice, hospital are all the same. Otherwise you must keeping yourself healthy, and fit to avoid to see doctors. I have not back to see Dr almost a year now

I've never had an issue with the clinic. Wait times, for my Dr, Dr Lee See, I've always found reasonable as the care and attention he gives during a consult is excellent. The reception staff and manager are delightful, always welcoming for me and my family. The clinic is very clean, including the toilet facilities, and there's plenty of waiting room and seating. No complaints

Okay wait times can be long but I have been seeing Dr McLaren for 20 years. She gives everyone so much care, which is why she runs late sometimes. I am grateful for the level of care and bulk billing. I will never change doctors until she retires! She always respects that I also seek holistic options and is interested in learning about what I find. She really listens.

I've been going to this practice for a long time now and the Staff are always lovely on front desk. The ladies have a great sense of humour and help out when you are unsure on things. I've always seen the same doctor who has been great. Really goes the extra mile to figure out any medical problems I have and gives information I require on them.

Reception staff didn’t have any manner how to communicate with patients.Dr L mention about iron tablet and discussed about particular brand and didn’t write proscriptions.When we visit chemist and ask for iron tablet brand they mention they need proscriptions for it. Not recommended any Doctors on that medical centre.Useless reception staff.

I waited there 55 minutes with my poor five month old baby to see the gp. And if the gp was busy with an emergent case, I expected to be notified. No notice at all. I have seen many other recent google reviews about the same problem of unreasonable long waiting time. This problem should be immediately improved.

Ridiculous service. We arrived on time and talked with staff, then being told to wait the Doctor. after about 35 mins, we went to reception again to check, then the staff said we are late! and they can only reschedule the time for us. don't recommend this clinic! extreme bad experience. don't waste your time.

We were 15 mins late for child vaccination and have been asked to reschedule for another day, however we've never been advised this strict rule before otherwise we would not drive all the way to there and been kicked out. Very disappointed with the service and wont come back again.

What a shocking experience my daughter had today with a female doctor whose bedside manners was appalling. Would certainly never return here. Empathy on a doctor's part is critical and the doctor who attended to her was certainly lacking in that department.

The doctors are always great, granted they do tend to run late quite alot. The staff is super helpful and friendly. If you don't want to wait long I'd recommend finding time super early or later in the afternoon. Overall I would recommend this practice.

I've been coming here for a long time and I can't fault the staff and doctors. Sure they run late, but most doctors do. The reason I haven't give 5 stars is because it would be good to receive a phone call if the wait time was longer than 20 mins.

Dr.Lilly Chai lies to patients when she doesn’t know what the problem is. she googles the symptoms in front of you and tells you that is what it is and there’s no treatment for it.
