This review solely focuses only on customer service. If you have a problem, concern, question or otherwise the store will direct you to their main customer service. Here's my problem.........you can only communicate with them via email! There is no phone number to actually speak to someone. So email is the only option. I find that so impersonal and slow moving regarding the response you will get. They state average time of getting a response back is 3 to 5 business days on average and could be longer. I don't know about you but I find that unacceptable and just plain backwards when it comes to what good customer service is supposed to be about to begin with. This is the only company that I know of or have ever heard of not having a phone number to actually get to talk to someone regarding the issue you have. I know we live in a technology Era but come on.......supply a phone number already. This just seems so behind the times and just a big step backwards. People like and want live interaction.....not waiting several days to find out an answer.
I’ve been a customer of Sunrise Records since 2017 after they replaced the former HMV (I was also a customer of HMV prior), and all I can say is the service is amazing and the people are very friendly. There was only one time when I did not enjoy my visit but that didn’t stop me from going overall. I’m always satisfied with the items I bought from said store and I gotta say that the addition of the Kpop section was, in my opinion, the best decision they’ve ever made especially for the fans (including myself) who are eager to buy Kpop albums themselves. From what I’ve read on the reviews, it seems there had been complaints about the expensive prices, and yes I’ll admit they are expensive but I guess the higher the prices, the higher the quality, right? Hehehe In conclusion, I really enjoy visiting the store from time to time as well as purchasing items from there and I look forward to going again in the future!
Son paid $120.00 for a defective toy ( interchangeable heads do not fit the character), and because one sticker was removed (in order to open the box) they refused to give him his money back. It is extremely sad that you are willing to scam an 8 year old out of their money in order to make a sale. Spoke with assistant manager who just kept assuring me that they could do nothing but provide store credit, although my son owns most every NECA they have in stock, had to buy a more expensive one in order to use store credit for my very upset son. (which by the way, if we remove the sticker to open the box and get another defective one-we won’t be allowed to return once again). Sad experience for a place that we spend wayyyyy to much money in. I’ve had some really fantastic experiences here in the past and it’s sad for that to come to an end.
Just had a terrible customer service encounter, by not one, but two employees. Seems they are still enforcing masking when all provincial mandates have been lifted and most businesses are abandoning the policies. I tried to explain I cannot and will not wear a mask, but they refused to leave me alone and proceeded to follow and harress me through out the store. They tried to tell me how difficult retail business is, but yet they were willing to call security and push me out of the store. I was going to spend $100, but I guess my business was not good enough to help their business survive. The epitome of poor customer service.
Absolutely disgusting customer service. Bought a DVD because it was listed for 10$. Being boxing day we were in a rush so I didn't look at the price I was being charged. Was charged 25 dollars. Went back in and complained was told there is nothing they can do about it unless I return it (which I can't because I didn't grab the receipt). This is completely false advertisement and against the scanning code of practice. All I can say is there is a reason this place lost the bottom floor.
First class customer service! We asked about a specific Blu-ray, and the fellow showed us another place to look and then looked in the back for us. He didn't find what we wanted and was v apologetic about it. After browsing a few more minutes, he found us again with exactly what we were looking for. He had gone downstairs to check another display and found it there. Great experience! Makes me want to support brick-and-mortar stores more often in the future, rather than buying online.
Worst customer service encountered, rude staff including management with no product knowledge, also ridiculously overpriced. Vinyl was very hard to shop, I asked a staff member if they had a certain title in stock and she just said "I don't know, look in the section" not even trying to help me at all so it turned me off and I ended up leaving the store. Needless to say I will not be returning to this store, they lost the bottom level and eventually they'll lose the top level too.
This Sunrise records is gigantic! The store had so many different things and any kind of digital media you were looking for I'm sure you would be able to find it here. I came here after looking in a bunch of different similar stores, which all had the CD out of stock that I was looking for. This one, however had it in stock and had multiple copies on the shelves. My experience was good and will plan to return again!
I love to own physical copies of movies and TV shows, and I wish more stores would continue selling it. So I should love this store, right? Wrong! The prices are outrageous. A complete joke. Cost much more than every other store and it's not even close. So I'm not surprised they got downgraded to a smaller store. They'll eventually go out of business based on the prices alone.
This is my go to place for movies due to the huge variety and the decent sales. If you want to build your at home movie library this place is worth checking out. The staff are fabulous as well My only regret is I'm still waiting for them to get a decent selection of Marilyn Manson albums, thats the only reason for the loss of a
Typical record store, very clean and organized but the customer service was top-notch. The staff were extremely patient and very kind, with my 12 year old very excited daughter shopping for KPOP albums. It was a one time visit for us ( Visiting from Ontario.) but I still highly recommend shopping here if you need records/cd's.
Came in here as we were looking for fun t-shirts. They never disappoint. Prices are a bit high for a t-shirt but for custom stuff I guess that's what you'll pay. Staff was very friendly and patient as the app to get the 2 for 40 was downloading very slowly. Need some music or something as it's dead quiet in there.
There has been lots of changes in their location/space but it's always a good place to find records, blu-days, DVD's etc. Daniel (?) is super cool and helpful! He spent the time to explain about their record/vinyl players in stock and the differences. Was nice for someone who was.looking for a gift.
Love this place! I come here to buy second hand LPs. The price is extremely reasonable. The quality is great! They have amazing collection of new LPs too. I have not checked their CD/DVD collection. But, judging by the size of this place, I am assuming they have an expansive collection of them too.
The staff are passionate about movies and music, not just there to scan your items. They are happy to have a conversation and recommend new media to experience. If you choose to buy here instead of online or a place that also sells milk and car batteries you won't regret it!
It's a rebranded HMV store. It sells all the same type of merch. Anyway, I love this store. It's two floors and very spacious. Lots of merchandise to shop from. Prices are very reasonable. Staff are super friendly and helpful and well educated on what they're selling.
The store is okay. Nice atmosphere but things are quite expensive in comparison to online. The staff are friendly and helpful if you need assistance. The t-shirt selection and some of the small knick knacks are pretty much the only reason I really stop in here.
Shopped temp location so a lot less selection, noticed the prices were quite high but found some albums I wanted and bought on cd. I'm a physical media guy and noticed most of the prices were double what they are online, I want to support
Took over HMV. The prices can be really good to really bad depending on what you’re looking for and also whether it’s on sale or not. Have grabbed a bunch of stuff from here. Good to find some neat gifts for others - birthday, Christmas,
Went in looking for the seasons of Parks & Rec, and was able to quickly find a staff member who gave us directions on where to find it. They didn't currently have the first 2 seasons, so we held off on buying initially. Ended up chatting
I went into the sunrise records yesterday to get a gift for my brother's birthday and the staff were amazing! They helped me narrow done all the artists that they don't have and which ones have vinyls in stock. They really made my day!
Will not be spending money here ever again it's a glorified toy store now, staff are rude and still holding on to ridiculous mask mandates. No other shop in the mall is enforcing this. Use to spend alot of money here not anymore
Huge DVD collection. Decent cd collection. Pretty good collectibles collection. Basically nothing for vinyl. Everything is racked and generically labeled sections, so you gotta do some hunting if you're looking for stuff.
What a throwback to my childhood! They have both up to date and older music. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, will also help locate items at different stores as well. It was an unexpected and great find.
Most music stores actually have little music, just lots of junk they can sell. Sunrise has lots of junk, but they do have way more music than most. I have no problem shopping there.
They have a kpop section, where I found an album I didn't yet have! Not the largest selection, but definitely better than nothing! Hoping they get more stuff in the future.
Aside from music choices they also gave small gift items and a good variety of tee shirts. Did a great deal of my Christmas shopping there. Will definitely go back
I went into this store expecting to look around, not find anything a leave. I ended up spending $200. Great place to check out for music and collectibles.
Lots and lots of options of records, CDs, movies, and other fun things. Was missing a Christian section though which was a bit disappointing.
Now that they've moved it, it high key sucks :( we very thing is so crammed together and its nearly impossible to look through their CDs.
Couldn't get in today. I have a mask exemption for mental health reasons but I guess I am no longer welcome....
Good selection of tv series and records. Only a couple turntables though. It's more for collectibles and DVD's.
Great selection and good staff, definitely recommend for any Cd or vinyl you made need.
The store is now 1 level. The staff wore masks and there are sanitizers around store.
A pretty good variety of vinyl to choose from WOW are they overpriced.
I love this place, it's a lot smaller now but still a great place.
Never disappointed eveeytime I go here, I always find something!
The Staff was amazing and the selection was huge!
Cool and good service! Good prices
