I have buying a coffee from EF Swing anytime I come near the outlet. That makes over 30 years if I include trips to a nearby doctor’s office, sales calls at the VA and IMF, and when my father worked at the World Bank. The coffee is always great and the service is awesome. Avoid the scones. They can be old and stale. More

Love this coffee shop. It's keeping me alive at 3:20 pm in the afternoon...and apparently 50 others! Its always poppin in here because the coffee is good (and local), the shop is nice, and the prices are reasonable. Also, try the chocolate croissants. I don't think theyre baked in house but they're delicious anyway.

Very nice coffee shop in a great location. The coffee is not as bitter as the American coffee usually is and the flavor was weak (maybe too little coffee is used in lattes). So if you like mild tasting coffee this is the right place. The pastries are also very tasty. I can recommend the almond croissant. More

Decent place for a coffee. Stopped in for a cappuccino on a weekday morning and it was quite busy. They got through orders reasonably quickly. Very few places to sit so if you’re looking for a coffee shop to hang out for awhile in, this wouldn’t be the place. Overall very solid.

Perfect place for great cup of coffee. Don't worry about the line- it moves fast! The coffee is very smooth, and infinitely better than that 'other' coffee place! Definitely try a bagel too. Service is friendly and efficient. You won't go wrong starting your day here.

The most charming coffee shop in the White House area for it’s convenient location and historical accents. They are one of only a few places who sell lightly roasted beans (unburnt, the way they should be!). Very much the opposite of a big chain like Starbucks.

I am lucky enough to walk past Swing's every day on my commute. The shop can be a little busy, but it's busy because people know how good it is. The baristas are very talented in your drink creation, and every time I've gone, they've waited

Some of my coworkers love this place, but I went a couple weeks ago and just noticed that there's a $3 tip charge on my card with my order that shouldn't be there. I would never tip $3 on a $5 drink (no offense to service workers) nor would

Great coffee shop that is a strong local alternative to Peet’s and Starbucks. They offer espresso, macchiato, cortado, cappuccino, flat white, Americano, lattes, mochas, drip and pour over coffee, nitro black and latte options, hot and iced

I absolutely adore this coffee shop! It's pricey, about a dollar more than another competitor (which is already expensive mind you), but I don't mind because I think this particular coffee shop has the best coffee out of all of the places

In the land of corporate coffee aka Starbuck’s, Peet’s and Compass, Swing’s is a much/needed respite. It’s a legit coffee bar about a block from the White House with baristas that know how to pull a proper shot and make a great pour over.

The best for local DC coffee. Excellent drip, coffee, espresso drinks, etc. Forget other local spots like Compass, La Colombe, etc., they are not 100+ years old local like Swing's. I am delighted that the G Street location re-opened with

Swings is back at its original location. The coffee is still the best in the US apart from Little Collins in NYC. Complementary sparkling water to go with your espresso, cannot be faulted. The lattes are exquisite, the milk never over

Love the coffee here and always get my light-medium roast coffee beens from here (locally roasted in Alexandria). Highly knowledgeable baristas. I appreciate Swing’s focus on the coffee producers’ working conditions and fair pay. More

Swing Coffee Roasters is a roastery outside of DC in Alexandria, Virginia and this was their first DC coffee shop in the city. It's one of the closest coffee shops near the White House and Renwick Gallery and recently reopened from

Wonderful coffee roastery with a lot of history and character. Despite its institution status, they still offer all the espresso and filter coffee types popular in trendy bars today. Definitely a must-visit for real coffee lovers.

  • Katie Keegin

Swings is an awesome, local coffee spot. It's a bastion of goodness in the otherwise chain-filled downtown area. Their coffee is good, and they have baked goods as well. It's worth the walk to swings to get away from Starbucks!

  • Ben Spratt

A surprising find in such a commercialized area! This is great shop. They made a perfect cappuccino which was smooth and creamy. It is a classy place with retro style and it is worth the stop.

  • Tommy Smailes

Absolutely amazing coffe and services with a great view if the white house with it being so close. If you are lucky, you could potentially see a president or something like them. More

5/5 stars. Get a large latte with an extra shot of espresso- a must visit coffee spot in DC. a/o December 2023 all Swings locations make consistently similar coffee More

  • Sean O'Sullivan

Popular place! Great location right next to the EOB in DC central. Only reason for 4 stars is no place to sit and outside is too frickin’ hot in DC in July. More

A descent coffee shop across the White House. It has more than 100 years of history. I visited around noon of a Monday and it was not crowded at all. More
