These guys are the best. This review is long but it is worth reading. I hit a deep pothole on Dale Mabry, the county/state really needs to do something about those, and the next day I hear a funny noise. I took my car to the dealership, as it was purchased new less than two years ago, and I was told it would cost almost $3000.00 to fix the damage and that I should call my insurance company to have the repairs covered. My insurance company rep, thank you Chris, checked my car and said there was no way the damage was that bad and to get a second opinion. As a result of Google reviews, thank you Google, I went to these guys for a second opinion. It was the smartest move I ever made. One of the guys worked for 7 years at a Honda dealership and knew exactly where to look; it took him 15 minutes to find the problem. Honda parts for newer vehicles are very difficult to find as Honda is sure to have their parts available via Honda dealerships only. These guys searched everywhere, as I was standing there, and found one in Texas. They ordered it and paid for the shipping. The guys called me when the part came in two days later. It took the guys two hours to make the repair and the final cost $329.00; a bent strut, they also gave me a two year guarantee. You cannot go wrong with these guys. Be sure to make an appointment for a repair because these guys are busy, but if it is a not so big problem they have been known to take you in right away. I can see why they are so busy and have great reviews. THANK YOU guys!!! You have a loyal lifelong customer. NOTE: As a result of this I will never take my car to this dealership again and will probably never buy another Honda, it was that bad dealing with them.

Trust this place 100 percent. We had 2 cars there at the same time, both of them turned out to have catastrophic engine failure....i know they spent a considerable amount of time diagnosing each of the vehicles which including taking off parts of the motor...the day they advised us of the bad news i got into a bad accident and totaled my work truck, leaving me in the hospital for 45days and our cars sitting in their yard for weeks, once we could focus on the cars again, we had them towed out of there and the managers there refused to take our money since no repairs were made and didnt want to charge us storage either. Tampa Auto Doctor has been repairing our vehicles over the past year, and have never let us down. Prices are competitive, and the work is spot on. We will continue to use their services and recommend Tampa Auto Doctor to everyone needing auto repair south of Gandy S.O.G. 3 yrs later (6/29) a/c evap went out on 2011 Buick Lucerne....had to remove entire dash to fix...the Auto Dr. (XAVIER), recommended all the right things to do while the dash was off....got the car back and the a/c is strong like the original..also everything on the dash works as it should and there is no loose sounding dash noise.....total pro job. Thank you guys...will always use and recommend. Still taking my Buick there and just had my sons brakes done....honest reliable shop.

Exactly what I've been missing in an auto mechanic. I grew up with the friendly, neighborhood guy who fixed our cars in his driveway. He always spent time explaining what he was doing and making small talk that was real (and not just a selling tactic like some other guys *cough cough Tires Express*). This place has the same feel as back home. Nothing fancy about the grounds or the waiting room, but who cares about that when you can get your car fixed with a friendly attitude, transparent pricing and methods, and awesome convenience. I drove in last minute with my car. It was starting strange but I wasn't sure if it was the battery. No BS. Just honest with showing me what happened, why, and how I could fix it. He didn't even tell me that I had to buy from him. There was no upselling and he was super genuine making small talk while he let me watch him change the battery. It's nice to know someone doesn't take advantage of a young woman like me. I'll be going here from now on.

If you are looking for hard-working, honest, and detailed auto repair professionals look no further. Josia and his team really helped me when I was in a tough spot. Meinke performed faulty repairs on my car so after looking online and seeing the reviews I took my car to Tampa Auto Docs where they quickly defined the issues and even much so taking the time with me to explain where the other mechanic from Meinke messed up so I could take my car back and hold them accountable. Josia is incredibly honest and will help you understand what needs to get fixed now vs what can wait where in the past other shops will try to make a quick buck off of your lack of auto system knowledge. I will be taking my car in the future and highly recommend anyone else looking for quality service does the same.

These guys were so great and I can't thank them enough. My driver's seat was stuck all the way back.. I am 5'3 and have been sitting in front of a pillow to drive for the past 4 months. I've been putting off taking my car in for so long because every single place I checked out wanted me to bring my car back to leave for hours, take the seat apart, and overcharge. Tampa Auto Doctor spent a moment to check it out, quickly identified the problem, and helped get it unjammed on the spot. They weren't even going to charge me anything! The customer service was exceptional and there was no BS. I was looking for a trusted mechanic in the area and now I have one if any other issues occur with my car!

My regular mechanic referred me here for work that he could not do. So far, they seem to have the same excellence of integrity that has earned my regular mechanic my trust. The workmanship and communication seem very good, they kept their word to the penny despite some hiccups in the job, and they took the time to detect and warn me of an impending safety problem unrelated to the repair. My only gripe, and it's a little one, was that the car was not ready when promised. That caused me some logistical difficulties. They were more than duly apologetic about it, though, so I suspect it's rare.

I was referred over to Auto Doctors by another local shop and i am glad i went to these guys! Dropped off my car at 8:45am, heard from them with diagnosis by 10:45am and picked my car up at 4pm. No hassle. No issues. Josiah and his guys were VERY professional and prompt with their work. Even better is the work they did came with a 2 year warranty. Which i was not expecting at all. Finally, a good, honest mechanic! Auto Doctor always does a good job and is straightforward with what repairs need to be done and what can wait. They are also extremely helpful in finding used parts, which really saves money. They always take the time to explain what they are doing to my car and why, and will happily pop the hood and show me what they are talking about so I can see it with my own eyes. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in not too long ago to get my AC fixed, they pinpointed the multiple trouble areas and did an AMAZING job on it, they had to take out the dash, and when they repaired the issue, the dash was put back in perfectly. They take their motto seriously, putting integrity above all else, offer super competitive prices, and they are super close to MacDill. If youre on base, do yourself a favor and go here.

After reading many positive reviews I decided to bring my car to Tampa Auto Doctor. The prices are more than fair and the work is excellent but the people that work there are the real stars. Excellent communication -- the phone is always answered and by a friendly voice, and the work was done at the time promised. This company is good and very honest with customers. I took at Chevy truck in with A/C issues, and it was a hard leak to find/fix. They were patient and it took a few trips, yet it certainly has been blowing cold for the last month after a condenser replacement. I would recommend them. Been here twice and both times the repairs are holding up well.
