This entire experience was phenomenal. We enjoyed every moment of the entire ceremony, and the garden and tea room are beautiful. We were very happy with our private tea ceremony and highly recommend. It is walking distance to Ryoan-Ji garden and walking distance from kinkaku-Ji. A great way to spend an afternoon in west Kyoto.

What a wonderful experience. The tea house itself is beautiful, and our hostess was warm and friendly. We were treated to some history of the tea ceremony to set the stage for the ceremony itself, which was needless to say, singular. Would recommend this to anyone. Very accessible, very educational!

If you want to experience real tea ceremony, you should go camelia garden! Maya was very kind and explains concept about tea very well. You will learn history of tea ceremony and how to do it. Also, this place(traditional small Japanese house) is very beautiful! And is located at quiet neighborhood. So you can release your stress.

My family and I had a wonderful time. Asuko was fantastic. She showed us the beautiful ceremony and then allowed us to make some tea. She even told some history of Kyoto and the tea ceremony and the Japanese culture. It was a great experience.

This was a great experience. Our host was welcoming and informative, and the ceremony itself was mesmerising. It was a great setting and, despite the fact the host must have performed the ceremony hundreds of times for people, she made it feel special for us. Highly recommended.

Our host Mya was one of the most pleasant human beings I’ve ever met. She made us feel right at home as she explained the tea ceremony. The matcha was delicious and tithe ceremony itself was a good opportunity to clear our minds after several days of travel. Highly recommended.

A fantastic private tea ceremony experience in a beautiful ancient house (with garden view). Our distinguished host made us feel very comfortable and shared her broad knowledge of the Japanese culture in a very informative yet interesting way. Highly recommended.
