We wanted to have nice quite dinner with a sea view. Most of the places in the Strand, Coastal road area was already packed. So we drove out to Gordon's Bay. That's when we saw this nice little place situated right on the beach area. Parking was plentyful at that time on the street. We decided to sit outside as it was a nice but chilly evening. We ordered some Petit Pinotage and sirloin steak,with chips. We were served by a very friendly and helpful Vuyani. The steak was cooked perfectly!! The chips was crisp and had some spice on, that is to die for. Pricing is in the mid range, but quite affordable. You will pay far more at restaurants on Coastal road. I can definitely recommend them!! They do get busy for breakfast and lunch time sessions, but if you look for a place with nice food and great sunset views. Look no further!!

Really nice spot with a good atmosphere. Simple but limited menu, however We had multiple meals and really enjoyed all of them. Salads were all great, hake was excellent and all the sides were tasty. There were limited vegetarian options however the side are tasty and if one orders a few different sides and tapas style food you can always it together and awesome meal. There's are a wide availability of drink options and a very reasonably priced menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. The staff and owner were very friendly and mentioned that they will be adding to their menu in time.

Although our table of 20 had two wait staff, we hardly saw them and often had to go and find them to order anything. And then..... we waited and waited for anything to arrive. To be fair, the food was good when it arrived eventually at the table. Thing is we could see our cocktails on the counter, slowly melting but not being delivered. It's a pity, because the place is lovely and in a perfect location but until they get their act together and up the service, they will not keep their customers coming again.

Seating layout ,outdoors seating and indoors with booths. Comfortable and accommodating for friends and family. The food is fresh and delicious. The in-house special chilli suace is amazing(spicy) and is sold as a specialty sauce.The outdoor seating has a beautiful view of the beach. The drinks special on Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays from 16h00 to 18h00 is affordable and the mixology of the drinks is superb!

I'm very happy with the food and service. I've had breakfast here with my mom twice and our experience was consistent for both visits. Our individual meals was prepared as ordered and staff were friendly and meals arrived in an acceptable time frame and was well presented. The coffe was really good. Thank you, we will visit again.

Had a lovely experience at The bean and barrel on Human rights day. Service was a bit slow at breakfast but eventually came and it was very nice as well as affordable. We had some cocktails afterward..pretty good as well. Lovely atmosphere right next to the beach. Would definitely go again. Keep it up.

Loved this place !! My friend and I sat there the whole day and tried out their all day breakfast and the drinks and everything was spectacular!! The service was amazing and the location is just to die for .
