First off I've been a customer here and have had great experiences for almost twenty years with the service department. Then I purchased my last ebike. Did a test ride loved the bike, wasn't my size told me they would call me back to discuss ordering options. A week later I called back noone had looked into it... And... They would call me back, a week later I called in again, discussed options picked the only bike they could get and would be entry level (which is fine) but asked for a quote on a dropper seat and a cartridge upgrade. I was told that would be impossible to quote. I asked about financing they said we could work that out after I put a deposit down. Also was told it would be end of June for bike to show up. Deposit deposited. Maybe two weeks goes by and I call in to see about an ETA (this was early June) "It's been here for days come pick it up." I also asked if they swapped the hand brakes around to a moto setup (I had been assured this before) I showed up the next day and noone knew that was supposed to be done, so the bike was not ready, returned later. "Yeah they haven't come with pedals for years." Next up how are we financing this thing. Tumbleweeds. "Guess I'll just put it on a line of credit." Received a feedback email a few weeks ago in which I responded with everything above. No response... Sales department doesn't care. I love my rocky mountain but I won't buying another bike from here. Edit: The term tumbleweeds was used to express awkward silence and not as condescension. As I said above everybody was great to deal with when I was physically in the store or on the phone.

I chatted (online website) with a one of the employee to order various parts that I can see it was in stocks in store. Stayed with him for about 20mins selecting parts. Requested for a pick up in whichever store has it in stock, but he suggested that it will faster if they ship it, he said it will only take a day or two (Mind I live in Calgary too), so I said “heck what’s a day or two of waiting”. So Wednesday nothing yet. I let it go because there’s still plenty of time for our trip to BC on Sunday. So Thursday, I received UPS tracking (mind I live in Calgary as well!) it said on the tracking info it will be deliver same day. And nothing. Friday, UPS attempted to deliver without notification and when nobody’s home. leaves a note I can pick it up next day. So today (Saturday, tomorrow is the BC trip), went to UPS store and the package is not there yet. So I need to get a rental bike for our bike trip tomorrow!!!! Should’ve insisted of picking it up instead. Should’ve bought it thru other vendors with the same delivery time, could’ve same some money. Suggestion guys, if the delivery address is within Calgary. Get a local carrier like chariot express they’ll pick the the package same day and deliver same day instead of shipping UPS for local shipment.

Purchased my bike here at the height of supply-chain issues that all industries were facing. I went in March 2021, got help from a friendly sales rep that helped me find a bike that fit my lifestyle and budget. Placed the order right there with a deposit, was told 4-6 months. Got the bike at the beginning of May which was a nice surprise! Had many trouble-free miles enjoying my new purchase. Just recently, I was on a ride and my entire chain assembly came apart while going uphill. Called The Bike Shop Central and was told to bring it in the next day. I came right at opening, was immediately helped by one of their technicians, and he had it fixed and back to normal in less than a half hour- luckily it wasn't a hard fix! They even had a spare part that I needed on hand that they installed- free of charge! Amazing. My only critique was when I was purchasing the bike initially, it was quite hard to find someone who worked there- but, I guess it's probably hard to find good staff these days. Will happily bring my bike back for any servicing and would recommend them for anything bike-related.

Went in to pick up a Bell Super Air helmet. I was assured they would price match. I was then given multiple hurdles to jump through- not good enough to have a prior purchase at another shop in Fernie for the same helmet, different size. Had to have the same size in stock there as well... Website not good enough... They had to call and pretend to be a customer to get the price... Then it had to be the right size... All of these criteria were met. The cashier then had to talk to the manager. 10 minutes later they reneged and offered $40 off but refused to match the price. Luckily, the Fernie shop has more stock in so I can get it there. Don't waste your time trying to support this local dealer if they're going to lie to you, waste your time then try to over charge. My 2 cents worth. PS- I've previously had service at the MacLeod Bike Shop that was good- maybe this experience is isolated to this location.

Spent $150 for brand new crank arms and pedals, which included a $40 "labour fee".. Very reasonable, however after 2 casual bike rides the entire arm just fell out and I took a nasty spill. So when I take it in, the manager (Chris I believe) tells me its my fault and that after every bike ride I'm supposed to tighten every single screw on my bike? Jake Little did not even hand tighten when installing, and I did not know after spending $40 on labour I would be required to check his work... If I had all the parts and time I would have just installed everything on my own in the first place. Avoid this store! Mistakes happen, I can understand this but they will never get my business again as there was no attempt to rectify the mistake by management. No remorse or apology for inadequate installation, just a blame game to the customer.

Super helpful and super quick! And everyone seems very nice...but not in that cheesy forced retail-niceness (I should know, I managed retail stores for 17+ years haha). Ash fixed both of our bikes quickly and efficiently, and while he was focused on his work, he was always nice and answered (patiently) my (silly) questions. While I was waiting for my bike to get fixed/maintained, another gentleman asked if there was anything he could help me with. He wasn't pushy (in fact he was on his way with a big box taking care of other things) but he answered all my questions about handles, new bike options, recommended a "fitting" of my bike with the physiotherapist (which is covered by benefits! Who knew?! He did!) - all he while never making me feel bad or self-conscious that I had an older bike. I really appreciated that!

I recently purchased a Specialized Turbo Levo comp online through the Bike Shop. I was a little apprehensive about buying a bike that retails for over $8k sight unseen online, but I'm here to report that I'm glad I did, and it's thanks to the exceptional customer service I got from Alison Choi who handles their e-commerce. There were a few hiccups during the process that were not necessarily the fault of the Bike Shop, but when things went wrong they went above and beyond my expectations to make things right. I honestly don't think I've had a better customer service response purchasing anything else, ever. Ultimately I'm glad I took a chance and bought the bike here as an out of town customer, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend that anyone else looking to buy online do the same. These people will take care of you!

Bought TREK FX 2 Disc 2023 from The Bike Shop Central and noticed there's a chipped paint on the frame when i arrived my place, just on the next street. My mistake was, not checking it thoroughly when i picked it up from the store if there are any damage or rejects on it because i was too excited to get it right away. I understand there are things that we don't have a control of especially the handling and delivery of the items to the store. But all the stuffs were so nice and very accommodating when i called them for a return and asking to replace it and they gladly entertained my request and swapped it with one of their stock. And i apologized for my negligence. Learn from my mistake, i know you're excited with your new bike, but check or test it first. Happy bike ride!

I had really good experience in the past shopping there until now. Glitch on online order and for some reason the same home trainer went through 2x while trying to put a discount code in. Called the store right away to modify/ cancel that order to only buy 1 trainer (who needs 2?). No matter what, they said they would charge me restocking fee even if not a single box was moved from the shelf. Ended up paying 150$ to get….absolutely nothing! Sadly, I would suggest to go to other stores with price matching policy (like MEC) for your purchase. You’ll get the same price but with much better protection. I cannot imagine how difficult it must be to return something on warranty, open box, wrong part, etc… at this location.

I was so happy to find the exact Ortlieb panniers I'd been searching for, when they seemed to be out of stock everywhere else that would ship to a Canadian address. Not only would they ship to me in the Yukon, but shipping was FREE! My order was processed quickly and I was given a tracking code so I could watch my box proceed through Alberta and northern BC. Canada Post failed a bit -- they left the box on my doorstep in spite of the "signature required" instruction, but happily I retrieved it before anyone was tempted to take it. And I used the panniers an hour later for my first ebike grocery run. Very glad to support a Canadian business!

I visit the central shop on a regular basis for outfitting our commuter/touring bikes as well as getting parts for the mountain bikes. I do not always buy immediately as I weight the different options first. The sales staff and mechanic crew are very welcoming and passionate about bikes. Thanks for all your kind help including the latest purchase of 4 Continental Ride Tour tires. They are great for the city and looking forward to see how they will hold up on gravel and off road with a fully loaded bikes. Will be back soon for a couple more things as well as for checking out the clearance section (lots of good deals).

Not even sure where to begin, so I'll keep it semi-short. Ordered a product and after a week there was no movement on shipping. I called multiple times and was told it will leave the warehouse "today". After 3 days of this I call back and they tell me they need me to prove my identity before shipping the product to make sure I'm not scamming them... I will never shop here again. Price was good for the item but to not send the item within the shipping promise window and then tell me they need to make sure I'm not scamming them is bad practice? You need to sort this out Bike Shop. Very poor customer experience.

The shop has an incredible selection of bikes, and is a dealer with many top of line and high quality brands, usually not found at local bike shops. However, when I purchased a bike from here, the set up and assembly was beyond antiquate for the quality of the product. I had a valve core completely stripped, which caused the tire to deflate every-time when riding. The bolt that connected my shifter cable housing, to the handle bars was super loose, and then fell off. It's so frustrating how I've only had this high quality bike for about a month, and its already having such issues.

The best store I've ever seen. First of all, they have enormous assortment of bikes and accessories. Each model has several sizes so you can find appropriate for you. The second thing is the personal. They are super friendly and helpful. If you don't know what exactly you wan't - try to ask or wait a little bit and they will ask you. Last but not least, is a repairing team. They can install whatever you need and fix something if broken. Definitely I will visit again as soon, as I need something for the bike.

I'm based out of the GTA area and found the Bike Shop online through google. I ordered some items on sale. There was a minor issue with my order so I thought I'd reach out to see if there's anything they can do to help. Brian was exception in handling my concern. After addressing my concern he assisted in providing me advice on some new products I was considering. Definitely a repeat customer here....and by looking at the reviews, it seems that I'm not the only one raving about the bike shop! 5/5!!

Sadly today I received a terrible service, I made the purchase of a bicycle where apathy and little intention to provide a good service was always present, apparently they were doing me a favor by selling me. The lady behaved apathetic, not very attentive and with total ignorance of the products she gave me, even rude at certain times, it was a considerable purchase of which I do not ask for special attention but simply that you train your staff and be professional.

Connor at the Bike Shop provided excellent help when my wife and I were shopping for e-bikes. He was easy-going and matter-of-fact. He knew all about the products and provided clear answers for our questions. In the end we bought two e-bikes and a bunch of accessories. Connor made sure we got all available sale prices and discounts. Also, he did the final adjustments for fit and comfort. Overall it was an excellent shopping experience!

I just bought my first eBike - a Townie! I was contemplating between a regular hybrid and an electric; the Townie provided an affordable stylish electric combo. Calvin assisted us the entire way and he was extremely friendly, helpful, and informative. He was also incredibly patient as we tested out different bikes and shopped for accessories. We are scheduled to pick up my fiancés bike next week and he is very excited!

I live in Ontario so I've never been to the actual store, but I have ordered lots of stuff from them. They always have the hard to find things like suspension bearings and derailleur hangers. Large selection of tools. During the COVID shortages they had products when no one else did. They often have free shipping over $50 and it's in Canada so no ridiculous brokerage fees. Harry and Brian always take care of me.

Great shop, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve had great experiences with the service team and staff. The last time I was in I asked the staff for help with buying new bike shorts as I ride long distances and kept getting a sore bum. Great place for a one stop shop for any type of bike. They have two locations (other one is in the NW). Cannot remember the guy's name but he wore glasses and said he hung so many bikes his back now hurts: anyway he was so helpful with numerous tips for looking for a new bike.
