Good food friendly staff The food is not too expensive the mega and normal hole gadsbys are wonderfull to eat thy fill up your tummy and its a great community and amazing people. The menue is very big and perfectly displayed in the store. Food takes about 20 mins to be done. Mr D is a bit to the expensive side it's about R40 more expensive so if you can make the trip yourself it's worth it. Other the mense reads perfectly please use your brain chicken has bones don't just swallow enjoy and chew your foon the secret sauce is perfect and the spice make the world's difference in there food. Take note there staff is not perfect all chicken gadsbys is made without bones sometimes a small bone slips by just live with it don't run to the store and complain thy do not advertise boneless chicken gadsbys its just chicken. Don't be that person. Great service love the shop and the community.

Last night 24/02/22 i called to order a full masala steak + a full vegetarian Gatsby- call was made 07:35 & order nr 2082. We drove 08:15 to fetch the gatsbies. On arrival the were calling nrs : 2096 already- deligted coz mayb mine is waiting. I waited patienutly until i realise the place is in chaos - staff are talkinug at the bck instead of attenuding to orders. The new guy @ the till is under pressure coz they donut work. I gave the till08:40 thenu i asked haibo where is my order- they tooknmy ticket & spent 30 minutes preparing it! . Eventually gt it 09:00pm. Not marked what is what - we had to dig & fldiveto see which is which! Got home the tasteless steak made dry- the chips so hard . We ate coz we hungry & today my whole household is sick tummies runnuing! .including my 2year old@ if it worsen - im takin mr Kahn on 4 having these unhygenic unproffesional staff. Im so angry @ foodplanet.!!

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience on my latest visit here (15 June 2021). Previously I had given a solid 4 stars with good food. The place is usually busy, which is a sign of a well run place, and the prices went up as well (also reasonable), but the quality went down really bad. Late last year they actually introduced some lettuce and crunch to their Gatsby's which I personally welcomed. Yesterday, I ordered a beef patty and cheese Gatsby, something that I always order... I felt like I was eating a chip roll in last week's bun; crumbly and just stale. Also there were only maybe 3 patties in half of the Gatsby, so every 3rd bite would get a patty, and the cheese was also lost somewhere. Overall, I would say 3/10. Would take me a while before I give them a try again.

I would like to thank Mr.Khan of Planet Food ,Strand for the diligent manner in which he handled my husband's critical food review. Mr Khan was NOT at all informed by his shopfront lady about our call or the bad food we got. He however read it on Google and immediately called us. Mr Khan is a soft hearted ,kind , gentleman with a absolute passion for people enjoying his foods .. He immediately told us we can call him and when close by and he will offer us same meal free of charge. Today we went there,and I ordered extra foods and odds to support the busns without just taking.. And I can say this much... Mr Khan the food was excellent!! Shukràn so much. Shukràn for the Luv and Care you put into your customers,your foods and your businesses. We will definitely be back...

The worst service and food ever!!. We paid for a double masala roti Gadsby yesterday and just got salad and chips Nd no more than 3 tiny pieces of thin steak that was hard.. We called in to the branch and the owner Mr Khan wasn't available to take our call.. We asked the lady that took our order to ask him to call us back and told her we can take pictures to show him and send it to her whattsap . She said he will refund our food . But he obviously is not interested as no call back at all.. I would at all tell anyone to buy there.. And we waited 1 hour and 15 Min..we were the only people in shop when we put our order in.. Yet we waited and others that came later got an order s first.. A big 0000 to them.

If you're looking for that Southern Suburbs/Cape Flats level of Gatsby, you won't find it here. Saying that though, doesn't make it bad. It's the best you'll get in this area as far as I know. I've had maybe one other item on the menu and it was quite good. I'm sure the rest of the menu is just as delicious. It's located next to a liquor store and there are sometimes annoying people hanging around there, but that is quite rare. UPDATE: Since this post I've become a regular, they have definitely stepped up their game. The food is much better, service can still be improved wrt to time of order in store to receive order, but calling ahead is the best option.

Waiting an hour for 2 pizzas. Best you call in with your order because you wait way too long if your order in store. Update 22 Sept 2022: I called at 4pm, asked for my food to be ready by 5:10. When I got there they didn't even start yet with my order. Only got my food at 6:05. Everytime I asked the cashier to check how far it is, he'd say its 10 mins. Only when I demanded my money back then he actually went to check. And then forced me to carry on waiting. They made me late for an appointment I had. And every other customer at the time also complained about how long its taking. Pathetic. Never going there again.

They seem very popular, for gatsby's, they were very busy during a weekday, we waited for 30mins, we ordered a gatsby, it was sauced really well, flavor was great, however the lettuce and tomato was missing, so it was just basically chips, chicken and the secret sause(really delicious). Please tell me what is the point of calling to make an order. They tell me it will be ready in 30minutes which was fine... When i got there after 30 minutes i said i ordered 1 and half steak gatsby... She ask me the order number which was not given to me. Theres a order of 1 and a half masala steak gatsby which was a mistake then i had to wait another +-15 minutes for i got home then there was bbq sauce instead of secret which i ordered. I think everyone has to have individual jobs so that the orders doesnt get mixed up!

I haven't had a polony gatsby with BBQ sauce in years and always used to have it growing up. So bought myself a half the other day and it took me back as the roll was fresh, everything perfectly cooled and perfectly packed and tasted as expected. Food planets all new pizza menu also has a range of assorted pizza's. Each pizza is unique and also packed with ingredients and full of bursting flavour. Would recommend you phone in and order on weekends because they're extremely busy. Enjoy!

Worst service ever and worst steak gatsby ever. Waited over an hour for my gatsby and when I opened the wrapping it was torn all overso half the chips fell out and there was almost no steak on the gatsby. I was no 36 and they were already calling no 47 yet mine wasn't ready yet. I was under the impression they were making fresh steak and chips but OMW my food was ice cold and the chips as hard as rocks. Not at all impressed. Will rather support another gatsby place but no longer food planet. Very disgusted

The food tastes good and is prepared according the order influx. So bear in mind that, depending on the day and time of the week, you might have to wait a little bit for your order. And yes, it's classified as a fast food outlet, however, over the years it has become very famous for its take aways that keeps people coming back for more. Please do exercise a little bit of patience, it'll be rewarded with taste.

Im giving this a 1 star ...This is because the storeman lied and told us our food would be ready in 20 minutes...we waited for AT LEAST 45 ( FORTY FIVE ) minutes for our food to arrive ...if we knew this we would never have gone there. The food does taste spectacular though , but if its at late at night, and your really hungry and dont feel like making food i would NOT recommend this establishment.

The lady was not friendly when. I ordered at all.... Didn't even answer with the company's name just said 'hallo' The massalla steak and cheese Gatsby I ordered was nothing close to what I ordered. Top marks for these employees and owner! We walked in and felt the great vibe. They are well known for their cuisines especially their gatsbys! Order one and ask for the secret sauce, you won't regret as there are many to choose from. There will be left overs lol. We went in loadshedding hours and they were fast and efficient

I go here often to buy a meal. They sell a variety of foods. Most popular is their Gatsby. To die for. Really good. Not shy to give a lot of meat. I prefer the curry. They stopped selling lamb curry. Really good food. Their prices are not bad. Here you wait for your food. Not your food waiting for you. Fresh . Always.

So dissapointed. I had to wait nearly an hour and then my gatby was freezing cold. It was thrown together sloppy and presented really badly and soggy. Never had this problem before. Really upset. I never complain but this was just that bad. Happened before 8pm evening of 31 July 2021. A lot of people complained.

My family felt like a cheat day so we headed out to get some Gatsby'. We waited quite a long time for our order, 1/2 x Masala steak & 1/2 Chicken Tikka this despite it being quiet. Both meals failed to deliver on flavour and had very little meat. We would have been better off ordering a chip roll.

They sell good tasting gatsbies. I wasn't impressed with the schwarma that I had, I'm not sure about the rest of the menu. The waiting time is average to long depending on how full they are.
