Can you believe there's a library / bookshop in central Melbourne where you can borrow a book and return it or just bring another book back in its place for others to read, and it's totally free! No charge! It's a community based library that works on an honesty based system. What a great community idea which gives ongoing life to books you've read and promotes literacy and the love of reading by offering a free book exchange. Melbourne truly rocks!

This is absolutely necessary Was a cold wet winter's morning, so we caught the train from Spencer to Melbourne central to watch a movie at Hoyts, had a little time and my little one found this little rare gem. He loves libraries as much as I do but this really is something else. There are no words, located right in the Melbourne central shopping centre. Planning on taking books in every time we visit now. So so worth it

I love the Little Library and my family always meet therel before going to dinner, cinema or coffee because there are books, seating access to all that the shoppibg precinct offeers all close to the MC Ral station. It is handy to be able to pick up somethibg to read while tgere are train delays at night, and good to vevable to dropnthem off again in the morning on tge way to work.

How can you give this place anything less than 5 stars? I true community based approach. A free service. Just turn up and take a book you like. It's a very handy place to drop off the books you no longer want, no hassles just find a space, put them there. A great idea that is worth having a look at, one of these places that make Melbourne fantastic.

Great to see it still exists but the new location is not very appealing. You have to get through the crowded food court to find it at the back wall. No seats and right next to people eating (who can also be noisy talking loudly). Don't go during 12pm-2pm.

Glad it survived through the pandemic and thank god it is still here! Not many books left to read though. Just contributed 8 to do my part. Thanks to the usb hub and power points there. saved my almost dying phone.

Wonderful little oasis of information in the middle of the shopping hell. Bring a book / take a book / read a book - there are a few chairs for that, too. Selection mostly fiction.

It's a great place for book lovers with a decent selection. I've myself donated several new copies of The Blasphemy Law. So my fans who are a bit short of cash will not miss out .

Donate books or grab a book - help with zero waste by leaving books here and not contributing to landfill. Lively and well-loved.

Lots of unique and interesting books here and it's entirely run by the community.
