We ordered our meal an hour n a half ahead to pick up. We had an hours drive to get home. Unfortunately when we picked up our meal and arrived home they had forgotten the rice. Well..what's a curry without rice but , no problem , we had ordered roti so we were fine. Unfortunately one side of roti was burnt and the wrong condiment was sent. Overall the place looked lovely and the lamb jalfrezi was just as mum makes it. We will definitely give it another try. Gave it 3 more tries. 1st onion baji was soggy as. Like a soggy pancake. I complained...nothing. Next ordered a beef dish and sent chicken instead. Called and owner said next meal is complimentary. Called 2 weeks later. Called at 9.01pm. 1 minute past closing and owner said sorry we are closed. I owned a 180 seater Cafe for 13 years. I would have never allowed this customer to have anything but an amazing meal after all these mess ups. Yes they have a captive audience but for how long? Slowly people will get to realise they don't have to put up with mediocrity just because we are berowra. Good luck to them but I'd never order from them again. Maybe ill open a decent Indian restaurant in berowra. . Watch this space .

We have been coming to this restaurant once a week since opening week, and honestly it is just getting better. We just finished our meal tonight and it was the best dinner we've ever had from Neighbourhood Indian. Sadly, there are no photos - as soon as everything was on the table, us and the kids ripped right in. Our baby and 7 year old both love the naan and milder curries, and the grown ups are enjoying the spicier offerings. I had been holding off writing this review as I didn't want to jump the gun - I wanted to give everyone time to settle and for there to be enough meals to fully comment on the food. We are very grateful and lucky to have such a fine restaurant so close and I would suggest everyone give them a go now - or another go if you went early after opening. The food is too good to miss out on. Can I also add that the delivery is absolutely top notch now - arrives hot, on time and the young driver is so friendly and professional. It's been too long. Too long to live in a place which lacks a half decent curry house. That wait is OVER. The ruby dished up is pukka I mean really good. You can taste all those luscious aromatic spices working together. The classic English dish TCM is excellent and don't get me started on the Kadai YUM x 3 Only thing I would like improvement on are the naan breads. They felt a bit rushed and the young staff just need to relax a bit. That's all. Order early. But order do! But then it seems the wheels fell off. Last curry i had was not good. They need to not cut corners and make from scratch again. But this customer is out. Sorry i really hope they can find that missing ingredient.

I order food from this restaurant weekly I'm obsessed with how good it is ! Fresh and never failing to cook excellent meals over and over again without fail. Through the start of the business opening there was a wait but was expecting it to be honest! First Indian restaurant in berowra for a long time and everyone has been excited for new takeaway, the line was through the door! No wonder they took so long I was patient through the process, how i think everyone should be :) you can tell it's a popular restaurant by the wait anyway , I'm sure they will get better with time in the future. Overall the best indian food I have ever eaten and definitely reccomend!!

A fantastic India restaurant for both dine in and takeaway dishes. I’ve eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants and this is ranking with some of the best Indian food in Sydney!! My favourites were the tandoori lamb chops, tikki kebabs and chicken tikka, all freshly made from the tandoor! The meat was tenderly cooked, each bite melting in the mouth. And the mango kulfi for dessert was to die for!!!! I recommend the banquet option, to get a good taste of all this place has to offer. The staff were friendly and the dine in area is cozy. We left with big smiles and happy tummies! Highly recommend and we will definitely be visiting here again.

Disappointing. Waitress was extremely sullen, definitely not wanting to be working. Abruptly putting an ice bucket down after having to ask for same. Fish tandoori for entree tasted like fish fingers. Butter naan was nice as were the sauces of massage and korma. Meat was dry. Pointing out a long hair we found in the chicken korma dish "I'll throw that in the bin for you"!!! Only one's in the restaurant, advertising closing time of 9pm. At 7.45 the aircon was turned down to 18, the equipment from outside was very noisily brought inside and we were starred at till we left at 8.15 as it was plain an early night was wanted. Won't be back

My first attempt ordering from here was beyond dreadful. They delivered after several hours of waiting. Some of household were asleep by then. The papadums were chewy, tiny cold and flavourless naan, curry was watery/ flavourless etc. Have finally tried again and they’ve improved a lot. Delivery in 1 hour, curry is flavoursome and the papadums now fresh. I am glad I eventually gave them another chance. That first time was almost traumatic!

Obviously new restaurants go through teething periods, and they are in high demand after opening. So the wait time was very, very long for restaurant standard. The service was smiling and friendly, but still everyone figuring out what to do and when. The food is what gets the 5 stars, it was phenomenal. So good I forgot all my frustration from the wait time. Best Indian food i have had in years, and all at a very very reasonable price. Be patient, it is so worth it!!!

Absolutely delicious! Naans are world class. i went with my partner and ordered butter chicken and palak paneer, both medium. The butter chicken is just beautiful, perfectly sweet as well as spicy, the paneer was also exceptional. i can’t forget to mention the great service. I now order weekly whether it’s dine in or take away!

Needs better organisation in the kitchen. I knew that they are renowned for slow service so had order ready to go and finished the online order by 5.02pm (they take orders from 5pm). 6.30pm and still waiting for our food. Our order would have been one of the very first orders! Surely by now prep work is better organised and some meals should be ready to go quickly! Won't be ordering again until reviews around service and timeliness improve.

Great Indian food all the way up here in Berowra! Had Butterchicken and Bombay Beef, both were delicious! Chicken was creamy and tender, full of those typical butterchicken flavours. And the Bombay Beef was tender as promised with very balanced spice flavours. Will be ordering both again! As in other reviews though, expect a long wait time, ordered at 540 and picked up at 640. I guess good food takes time!

We had a Brit who was homesick for an UK-style Indian. He is now a very happy tourist. These guys should have a queue out the door. We will definitely be back.

DELICIOUS!!!! Berowra Heights is privaledged to have a FANTASTIC Indian restaurant. Flavors are so good and well balanced they can make things mild (and it is mild, not just lip service) or hot... Take your pick. Servings are generous and the price is good. Now I have an Indian restaurant I love eating at and would happily recommend to anyone who wants good food. They do takeaway as well

Good food and a good service. Visited with friends for dinner. We had a good time as we spent some quality time. Fresh food was served. Cities and garlic naan were best. Since I am vegetarian I felt for a vegetarian starters choice is slightly less, but considering the suburb I can understand the menu on offer. There is an accessible entry to the place. I will visit this place again.

So ordered food at the restaurant at 524pm and told between 45-60mins and that they would call. Headed back up at 630, still not ready and advised about another 15 mins and that they would call. Turned back up at 715 and was advised it was being finalised. Finally ready at 730pm, over 2 hours later. Very poor service, very poor communication. Won’t be back, no food is that good

Stopped here for a quick meal on a roadtrip. Didn’t disappoint! Great food, quick service and honestly one of the best cheesey garlic naans I’ve ever had! Yummm

Food is better than average, but not great. Unfortunately they're unable to keep up it seems... Ordered 5:30pm on a Friday. Told 1 hour wait for pickup. 40 min later, told it'll be another 40 min. We cancelled the order. They called back to say it'll be ready in 5 min. They don't seem to know what's going on.

We had some take away curry from here last night and it was really good. The level spice was good and it was really fresh and flavoursome. Inside the restaurant looks like a nice place to eat in so we'll have to try that next time but we're pretty happy to have a new good takeaway option close by.

We are trying to support our local businesses. Ordered Take Away at 5:05pm - Website identified food would be ready in 60 minutes. They called at 5:30pm and identified food would be "another hour" - Pick up at "6:40pm". Finally got our meal 6:55pm. Food was OK.

The food is OK but operations appear to be managed mainly by local kids without the systems of, say, an American fast food giant or even a competent tavern/RSL. We waited for well over an hour while takeaway orders appeared to be prioritised.

We had it delivered in the time frame that was said and it was piping hot and absolutely delicious will % get this again was amazing!! Well done

Obviously only takeaways at the moment. Young "front of house" staff very courteous and helpful. Food is top notch and worth the wait. Allow plenty of time when ordering at peak times, ie 1.5-2hrs, they're pretty popular.

We went all the way from Hornsby to try the Indian food here. Vegetarian food was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. Services far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be going in future as well.

Thought they would have sorted out the teething issues they had when they opened last year but still had to wait 2hours for delivery. Won’t be ordering again.

Very tasty Indian. And very filling. The Malai Kofta was sensational. And the Butter Chicken was full of chicken pieces unlike other restaurants I've been too where it's mostly sauce.

As the other reviews say, there can sometimes be a wait. However the food from the Neighbourhood Indian is well worth the wait! Delicious and very reasonable price.

Beautifully authentic and absolutely delicious. We are so lucky to have them in Berowra. Yes, sometimes you can have an extended wait but believe me, it's worth it!
