I find it odd that this bar suddenly has an incredible influx of 5-star positive reviews (saying the same things hmmm....questionable) all the while the owners bully someone online who dares to share their own negative experience accusing them of biased reviews. Seems like someone only likes reviews from their friends that make them look good. As someone who regularly attended Trivia (and Karaoke) at Octopus, I think the new product is lacking. The questions and format is generated by an outside company that I've seen at other trivia nights and they're overused and overall meh. Elic could have potential as a host if he take himself less seriously on stage. Trivia is played in jest, there is commotion, debate, question clarification, crowd heckling that is akin to stand up comedy. It's not that serious but he doesn't seem like he wants to have fun with the crowd. Telling people you're not taking feedback and being dismissive is a choice! I don't care that there is a new host or trivia set up. Just maybe take heed of when people have actual feedback and stop making it a personal attack.

The Octopus Bar has been my "home away from home" since the day it opened. It embodies what a bar is supposed to bring to a city--hospitality, culture, community, atmosphere, music, art, philanthropy, mirth, and merriment. The creators and owners have always been phenomenal humans that care about the culture and the community, and they take a great deal of pride in their establishment. Entertainment includes awesome bartenders, some of the best DJs in the city, karaoke, games & trivia, live music, dance competitions, charity events, and much more. The food is simple, delicious, and as genuine and unpretentious as the staff. What bartender should you ask for? Tommie is the veteran there--awesome human. Whether you go out every night or just on occasion--this should be one of your top destinations.

High level info: $12 cocktails and $8 happy hour cocktails from 4-6 No food for happy hour and you order through an app Cool vibes at this bar and some nice cocktails! Food is what you expect at a bar but they do not disappoint! Cocktails are 8 during HH or $12. I would say this is a decent price for a cocktail in this location. The staff is super friendly and you order the food through an app which allows you to customize as needed. It gets delivered to your table do not fret! I had the Tampa which tasted exactly like a sonic cherry lime made and you couldn’t taste the alcohol. (Dangerous I know) I also had the tots which were delicious and chicken tenders which were good. The sauces that came with them were good though I wish the cheese sauce was hot rather than cold.

Pseudo-slummy broken in neighborhood bar, loyal looking clientele and thoughtful lighting. Ropes, bouys, life jackets and caged dolls above the bar are highlights. Baudelaire is quoted on the menu, to the delight of many a hipster I'm sure. Competent and swift service on a Saturday night. Organized bar, good sight lines, clean Betty Page-infested bathrooms, not that we're complaining. Could do without the (few) TVs playing sports and thoroughly modern "top 40" music, but these are both easily ignored after some affordable Vida mezcal. Happy hour prices are legit and the $3 coffee is low acidity - always a plus. Cocktails are unsurprising but dialed in. Have not tried the food but seems reasonable. Highly recommended and I'll return. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Love the staff at the Octopus Bar, always attentive & friendly on top of fast service. Tommie and Lowden hold it down, always hustling to get you quality drinks, and keep a smile on your face along the way. The Octopus crowds are friendly and diverse across all metrics, resulting in a welcoming atmosphere for all. Meh. I have been here a couple of times and service and food/drinks have deteriorated. You have to go inside to order your drinks if you are outside, but the waiter/waitress grabs them and carries them (Seattle laws; you can’t have alcohol out of designated areas) for you while you walk near them. Wait what? Wouldn’t it be easier to order through the app and they bring it to you anyways? But that is not why I’m giving them 3 stars, the rating is mostly about food. I ordered the pacific sandwich with gluten free bread and it was awful! They didn’t toast the bread and there was little to no flavor. I didn’t say anything because one knows what happens when you send food back…

That bouncer was definitely drunk on power. He threatened me when I stood in the patio to write a text and to hide from the rain. I was there for no more than a couple of seconds. I want you to understand that the bouncer, as part of your staff represents your business - often times, this staff member represents the first contact with potential customers. That said, I did have additional ID but I don’t want to frequent a business that displays this attitude. I’m not sure what I enjoyed more, the ambience, the decor, the delicious food, or the refreshing drinks? The entire experience was phenomenal but the detail that brought everything home was the fantastic service delivered by my bartender, Tommie. He was delightfully friendly and perfectly tied the bow on an all-around excellent experience. Wow. Just wow. Upon walking up, Peter's warm welcome while taking security seriously invites me to feel safe while getting my delicious drink on. He is friendly while responsible, and a fantastic conversationalist! I also know that he always is looking out for the vulnerable. The bartenders always deliver perfect concoctions - even when I say something ridiculous like "I need to disappear on a sunset coastline and feel like dolphins are singing to me." Go here.

What an amazing Seattle institution. It’s a special Wallingford place. Plenty of seating at two levels. Bar is really cozy. Was so crowded when we arrived around 6 pm. Crowd really thinned out past happy hour. We had few drinks and variety of bar food including pizza, nachos, nuts ++. Service was prompt and courteous once we got bar tender’s attention. Many times pictures tell the story. This is one the bar where pictures tell a lot more than written words.

We’ve been here a few times and it’s always been a great experience. The atmosphere and vibe is fun, there are cool drinks, great specials, and really good bar food. Tonight Alyssa was one of our bartenders and she was super friendly and fun. She even helped experiment and make a couple new drinks for us and was really nice and approachable every time she came by, we’ll definitely be back again!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Octopus Bar. I was a regular and dedicated patron at their old location and was worried that the new large location would lose some of its charm. Let me just tell you, this place is NOT lacking in the charm department. You absolutely have to check this place out. I have recently moved from the neighborhood and will miss it dearly. Please go for me and go for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

What an absolute vibe! It's fun. It's cute. Lavender cocktails forever. My only regret is that my favorite bartender lives in Seattle (and I don't). Had such a blast here, felt so cared for, and got some truly incredible recommendations from Alyssa on local places to scope on my visit. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Seattle and will absolutely be back!

The vibe of this place is SO cool. Amazing, thoughtful decor. Friendly staff. Only taking one star away because on a Saturday evening at 8pm, most off the bar and dance floor area was reserved for private parties. Not a ton of space for random walk ins to sit around and hang out. There was also a cover on the pool table, which didn't make that area super inviting. Overall, I'd come back on another night to check it out again!

Alyssa and April are my all time favorite there. They always knows what a person like. And is very funny/friendly and they treat me like i am family. I will continue to return if my ladies are working. Best barmaids ever!!!!!! Love them to the fullest!!! More pictures are coming soon!!!!

I have been going to The octopus for the karaoke on Sundays and Mondays now for about year. The singing is great and the staff are all friendly and attentive. I'm excited to see that they have added trivia to their Monday nights. Elic runs a great contest. I'm going to start coming early on Mondays for the trivia and stay late for the karaoke!

For some reason, I found myself at this bar, and the cocktails were cheap, which made them taste even better. The food (do they even have a kitchen?) was cheap and solid bar food. They had a DJ that night in the back that played bangers and adapted to the crowd. I'd come here to pregame or stay here depending on the vibe. Needless to say, I had a great time.

Went for meeting colleagues. This place was dope. We chose outdoor dining, they have great tables indoor too. Very wonderful staff, an inclusive community, very welcoming. Personally still a big fan of the new Octopus Bar location. Venue is much bigger but still has a little bit of that divey feel. The old spot certainly would not have been COVID friendly. They have a solid happy hour menu, solid beer selection, great cocktails, and you can order food from the Salty Shack online and they’ll bring it out to your table.

My favorite thing about the octopus bar is that they have the most welcoming staff! Tommie, one of the bartenders, has made every experience there so fun. He’ll sing with you, make you the most delicious drinks, and deliver them in style! Highly recommend you stop by when he’s working!

Fun spot! The nautical theme is perfectly executed, and the quirky photo booths and vending machines add to the party atmosphere. The cocktail list is something worth exploring, and the beers on tap are mostly local and top notch. The bar tender was very friendly and made a great drink for us!

We used to love coming here for trivia but it’s not great anymore. Host was pretty flippant and rude, not sure if that’s their sense of humor but not what I’m looking for from the experience. Probably going to look for a new spot for our crew to do trivia.

I love this place. I came home to Seattle for a month in June and whenever I went out with friends we came here. From the karaoke to the incredible decoration and theme of the whole place, I would recommend the Octopus Bar as the place to grab a bite, try local beers and just enjoy it!

Good service. Tasty drinks. Wife had the Harry Belafonte pizza and I had the captains plate. We were there for happy hour - even with the HH price for the Captains Plate - I was expecting so much more and that’s my only complaint. It was a pretty lackluster meat/cheese board.

This bar is dope. Bartender Tommie always comes with the good vibes and good drinks. Friendliest and most professional of all who work there for sure. Do yourself a favor and stop in sometime if you debating. Fridays are good vibes .
