What a terrible experience. AVOID THIS PLACE ! We all know we are going to pay more for being a captive audience in an airport but this place is beyond belief. The ultimate breakfast with toast £13.48 ! Come on, how the hell can this price be justified ? You have to order the food from the bar from a grumpy, angry woman who not only hates her job also hates everyone who dares to disturb her trying to make an order. It was very quiet, not busy at all but the woman still managed to be rude to every person who approached her. I ordered a decaffeinated coffee, she informed me with a big sigh they didn't have any. I asked if they had ran out or did they not serve any, which she replied "well we ain't got any !" Followed by a grumpy man making your hot drinks and slamming them down infront of you. I had four drinks to carry & asked for a tray. You would have thought I had asked for something for free. When I finally got the tray It was so hard to say thank you to such a sour face but unlike him I have manners. RUDE STAFF & OVERPRICED THEY DONT DESERVE YOUR MONEY.

I eat in a lot of airport lounges and you get used to being overcharged, but it's on a company card so I wasn't too bothered. The service was utterly terrible. Place wasn't busy at all. Breakfast was firstly slammed down on the table by a staff member clearly in a right mood, and what was presented was inedible. It looked like it had been under the heatlamp for an hour. I took it back to the counter and politely explained I wasn't prepared to eat this. Staff member looked me up and down, tutted, and walked into the back with the plate. The coffee was clearly from a machine but tasted ok. After 20 mins I asked where my Breakfast was, staff member silently walked into the kitchen as if to check. Nothing. 30 mins in now, I asked again. "I go check" - never reappeared. Eventually a whopping 45 mins after sending breakfast back, and all the staff no where to be seen, I noticed my flight was marked as GO TO GATE, I simply gave up and left. Waste of £18

Gastropub??! quit mugging people off. Absolute joke of an ‘establishment’. If you find depressed nature of the staff surprising, you too will quickly become depressed when you realise you’ve been robbed for £20 as soon as they put the food on your tray. Since when does a thinly packed bacon sarnie need a burger stick? Does the bun have aspirations beyond its feeble reality? Even one visit here to be parted with your hard earned cash for paltry food in return would be enough to salt a holiday before it even begins. It would be worth joining a lounge scheme, but you’ll be double struck with holiday blues when you see the sign telling you all lounges are shut on the day of your visit. What a total shambles. No excuses now since its been ages since covid and you’ve been raking it in. Please stop being thieves ✋

Worst restaurant experience in my life.! Firstly I ordered at the bar a breakfast. I was charged more than on the menu. I pointed it out to the guy behind the bar. He took the menu off me and ripped it up arrogantly in front of my face and said that was the old prices! (even though that was the menu in the tables). He then refused to honour the advertised price on the menu. The £13.49 breakfast arrived speedily. So speedily that the chef didn’t have time to cook the fried eggs and they were extremely uncooked. The server slammed my plate down with a look of hatred on her face. The bacon and beans were stone cold. Totally inedible. I then complained about the poor breakfast and the person I told just shrugged and walked off. No apology. No offer to put right or refund. Clearly all the staff here hate their job and customer service is not of any interest to them.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend Leo, one of your bar staff, for his excellent service. I was recently flying from LBA and decided to have a drink at the bar before my flight. Leo served me and he was absolutely fantastic. He was very friendly and attentive, and he made sure that I had everything I needed. I would highly recommend Leo to anyone who is looking for a drink and good chat before their flight. Here are some specific examples of Leo's excellent service: - He greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. - He was friendly and engaging, and he made me feel like I was a valued customer. - I was very impressed with Leo's service and I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great experience at LBA. Thank you, Kathryn

I paid via credit card. Person serving advised the transaction didn't go through. I advised it did as I could see it confirming payment on the card reader. The assistant insisted it didn't go through. I checked my Amex account and showed the payment on my phone to the lady serving me. She called a supervisor. The supervisor advised the transaction was pending which I replied all transactions are pending until they are confirmed. Due to the queue behind me and the supervisor 'promising' the transaction was void I paid again. Both payments were confirmed. I suspect the issue was the bar person serving did not ask for a table number for the first transaction. Numbers I have been given to call if there was an issue do not work. Really bad service.

I just wanted to formally thank Eshar and Rebekah for their kindness and patience on Monday 4.9.23 . I am coeliac and was really struggling to find something to eat - I had booked food on the plane but as we were arriving at our destination late needed to eat something before flying . They were both incredibly helpful and patient - I did pass on my appreciation to their manager at the time but wanted to thank them formally as well . You have no idea how much I appreciated your help - kind regards Jan Brown

Nice breakfast to start the day. Obviously being in an airport the Saltaire is a busy place, but plenty atmosphere with a good range of food and drinks. The garden breakfast was really good but they had ran out of hash browns…fair play they swapped them for toast and a fried egg which I didn’t mind. It’s tricky for phone signal in here so quite difficult to get on the Order & Pay app, watch out for that if you are a solo traveller, although you can just order at the bar. All in all a good place for food and drinks once you get settled and order

I’ve given a 3stars because the although the meal was the best I have had in the three times I have used the airport, and the staff were excellent , the rubbish music made eating an unpleasant experience. The staff turned the volume down, yet not another customer complained. That speaks volumes about the choice of music the management play. Airports can be stressful, particularly when delayed, as I was, and require a calming music choice. Be assured the passengers/customers will thank you.

Definitely overpriced, no fish n chips when we went but cannot recommend their beef burgers either - burnt and dry overall, with old lettuce leaves, which gave a funny flavour, and no tomato or onion. Some old ketchup n HP bottles by the side, but not even mustard or mayo sauces. Two burgers with two beers comes up to nearly £50, think it should at least taste good! Bottle beers not cold either. Menu’s dirty, but do not order through the QR as many things might not be available. I wouldn’t come back

Setting not too bad. Food heavily priced for the size of the portions. We bought 1 Ultimate breakfast,1 traditional breakfast, 1 Pt Staropramen & a cappuccino and got stung for £30.33. That said where else could we eat? Bar Staff member that served me was unbelievably arrogant and rude to all she served. Spoke to a woman in front of me like she was a piece of muck on her shoe. Absolutely despicable and people skills need a hell of a lot of work. Other staff members were great, very polite and amiable. Don't think I'll use this specific eatery next time we fly from here.

I ordered some food from Saltaire Bar & Kitchen at 14.49 Chk 282310586567 is the food order ref. The fish and chips came out at 15.03, but we still waited on the pie and chips meals. I observed these were sat waiting under the hot lamp until 15.17, due to waiting km gravy. To which there were brought out without gravy. We ate two mouthfuls, they were warm and not nice and no gravy. I would like a refund for the two pie meals please.

During a busy time in the airport the staff here greeted us immediately with a very calm attitude and assisted us to a table no trouble at all. The team worked well together in ensuring everybody waiting never had to wait longer than a couple of minutes for a table and the manager Jack was great at this. To see the manager take such a care in the well-being of the customers was quiet rare in this type of environment and it’s a reason we will ensure me and my families return. Thank you Jack and team!

Attempted to sit down and a waiter with a shaved head and an accent confronted us as he “needs to get through”. We tried to sit down quicker, I adjusted my seat and he came back and pointed at it. We then felt uncomfortable sitting down the rest of the time, afraid to move. Also the bread is stale, ham is cheap and egg is over cooked. Sausage sandwich and eggs Benedict costs you £18-19. Go to Burger King instead, you even get treated better by the staff.

Four people behind the bar, one other customer waiting. Took nearly five minutes to serve him with just one drink, then we stood waiting another minute with four staff chatting right in front of us. Drinks about 50% premium, no cask, despite three pumps. Tables dirty, even though it was very quiet. Rubbish on table when we arrived, and still there when we left. Had to wipe ketchup off the table ourselves. Floor around table has food droppings that are days old.

Had a late afternoon flight so decided to have a hot drink, I had a hot chocolate and my friend a coffee. Both was as advertised and the service was fast. The staff member Leo was extremely pleasant and even asked us where we were flying, he showed us the direction to our gate and wished us a happy holiday, overall a very pleasant start to my holiday adventures

17th September - Everything that was ordered came except one drink. Collared 2 members of staff who said they'd bring it but didn't. The 3rd member of staff I collared before requesting a refund DID bring the drink but I was made to publicly show my receipt as if I was lying. Everybody seated around me thought it was ridiculous, one even stated 'you may get your drink on your return journey!'. Very over-rated place and won't be using again.

On Monday 28th August when the technical fault caused delays and cancellations, we were in the Saltaire Bar from 11am til 9pm. The staff did everything they could to look after us and Michelle in particular was fantastic! She had a smile on her face the whole day long and was compassionate with the older ladies sat near us who weren’t sure what was happening. You’ve got a good one there, Well done Michelle!

Airport food is always alittle more expensive But the the least you could do is wipe the menus down. A Few managers standing around talking about the drama of hospitality when the very basics should be getting completed and for the price pay you think they would be getting done ... very quite as well so not really any excuse . When the FOH is run in such manner makes me wounder what BOH are upto .. please try better with the basic of hospitality should be drilled alot better

Cold food, clearly microwaved. Paid £73 for 2 burgers a bottle of Wine a pint. Wost food I've had in a pub in years. I could have gone to Millar and Carter and got MUCH better quality food and drink for £14 more. Disgrace that airports charge these prices for the most average of foods. If you want a burger go to Burger King on the way in... at least you know that's been microwaved. Terrible

We got everything we asked for. Excellent service from start to finish. Food good. Brilliant experience. No complaints. Definitely recommend. Special thanks to Paulina She even took a group photo for us which is just perfect

After paying £55 for a meal and drinks. I expected more from the meal. The Saltaire Burger £12.50 was even worse than a McDonald's burger, the chips were fried as you expect, however I would have preferred them to have been chunky chips or sweet potatoes. £13 for the nachos was steep, and were not that great either. Kids meals were ok, but again the quality for the price wasn't the best. If they reduce the price or increase the quality, then I may eat there again.

The team here are excellent and really helpful. I had forgotten my case from security and rushed back in a panic. When I came back my table had been cleared. The team members sorted things out and found my magazine and replaced the tea. The breakfast was really good too. A great experience and a really helpful friendly team. Well done.

I had previously rated this a 3* back in 2017 and that was being generous. I wish I could've given a 0* instead. The worst airport bar ever! Look at the state of the prices and the photos of the food. Extremely poor value even for an airport. Tip: Bring your own food, goto the bar downsyairs or Starbucks etc instead or alternatively just booking a lounge would be better value. This makes the Ryanair menu look cheap and delicious.

  • Bassy

Called here 27/07/23 prior to flying to Gran Canary, the food was average at best but the cheese and bacon burger was absolute rubbish and tasteless plus it was £16.99 and £7.29 for a pint or moretti I would strongly advisor eating elsewhere. £3.99 for a glass of coke also. It’s cheaper to eat at Disneyland. I don’t mind paying those prices as long as the quality is there

Very poor. Not enough tables. Its the only place you can get cooked breakfasts but the quite to get served is extremely slow as its a bar so they are serving drinks and taking ages. Not enough staff. Would suggest people take a snack to the airport and get something to eat on the plane. The prices are expensive too. £10.99 for a full cooked breakfast and it doesn't include toast, tea or coffee.

Very disappointing that the vegan burger option has disappeared and been replaced by a non-vegan Quorn burger. How easy it would have been to have made this a vegan option.

Really good, really really good. What I will say is that if you have a sauce station on your table, must include Heinz mayo. Unfortunately the only options were ketchup or brown sauce. Step up Saltaire!

Extortionate prices (eg. £7 for a pint of standard lager), cynically extorted as the operator knows this is a captive audience. There is no accountability to force this operation to act ethically. Well done everyone, this is the system you wanted.

£15 for a veg breakfast and a tea. Tables always dirty. The breakfast doesn’t fit on the plate so the beans dribble of the edge onto the table. One egg looks fresh the other one looks Jurassic. Quality and value simply don’t exist in this cafe.

  • ross wearmouth

Am currently sitting down by the bar, recovering from being charged £11.75 for a pint and a half and a packet of crisps! The friendly staff advised me that there wasn't a price list to see at the bar. If I'd asked first, she could have told

  • Tracey Rewcastle

Do staff and owners read the reviews come on its not difficult to provide a decent service. Do you just think people will continue using this place all I had was a coffee and the staff (8 behind the counter) were more interested in chatting

  • Jenna Stones

Cheesy chips that didn't include actual cheese!!!! Just a very thick cheese type sauce. Only highlight was the kids fish and chips! No vegetarian topping option for the chips. Only vegetarian chili served as a main overpriced meal!! Malibu

Extortionate price for appalling food! Poor quality and over cooked. Even the avocado and poached egg made my partner feel ill within 15 minutes. Do not waste your time and money here. Well below what you would expect, even at an airport!

  • Pat Naylor

Food terrible and luke warm when it eventually came. LBA you need to get rid of this company, overpriced even for an airport an absolute disgrace.

Was greeted with an expression of complete disinterest from the staff, in me or my order. Food was ok but overpriced; the chips could have been hotter and a few more wouldn't have hurt. £20 for a burger and a drink is a bit much.

Ok, I paid 28 quid for two breakfast with a cup of tea each..... But it was awful, worse English breakfast ever. Just save your money and buy a sandwich and a drink from WH Smiths you will save 25 quid and it may taste nice

Decent enough restaurant for an airport. Good food selection. Good coffee and a decent bar. The staff have always been nice and friendly when I've visited. You need to go through the duty free shop to get to it.
