I have mixed feelings regarding this museum. Firstly the positive things. It is nice. Staff is helpful, friendly. At the beginning a short tour/guidance is given. A lot of information is told in a couple of minutes, nice story telling and facts. Everything seems genuine, nicely kept for the future generations. Top floor is the location for wax figures. Lot of information is everywhere, nicely arranged and presented. There is souvenir shop , gift items and tickets could be bought there. My only concern is the overall lenght of this visit. It is a tiny house. The tour is very short. There is no time limit, nobody told us we should leave. However, the whole building and the exhibition is not big, everything could be observed in a fairly short time. After a while it is getting boring quickly. It is amazing and impressive, please do not misunderstand. Probably it is a very nice experience for a Sherlock Holmes fan. For an ordinary person it is interesting, infornative. However, I am unsure about worthiness. It was nice to see, but very short experience in time. All floors, all information could be visited and observed about less than an hour time and that is all. Unless if someone is a big Sherlock Holmes fanatic the worthiness is a question mark for me.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most famous creation gets his very own museum and what a delight it is! From the moment you're greeted by the doorman the whole visit is a pleasure and the staff explaining the many quirks and gadgets at Sherlock's disposal makes for an amusing and plentiful tale. It's not the biggest of museums and the whole experience all told will take you about 25 minutes to navigate if you really take the time to study everything and if you're a fan of the famed detective then you'll have a treasure trove of things to discover here. The shop has items, many of which are exclusive to the shop itself and you'll come away with a newfound appreciation for the man who can deduce even the most complicated of cases. Oh, and wait till you come across Professor Moriarty himself...

A really nice small museum, a bit cramped and small, basically a tourist attraction, but also providing a nice impression of the houses from Victorean era. My fav Sherlock Holmes actor was the (already deceased actor) Jeremy Brett, who was able to perfectly impersonate the great fictional figure from Arthur C. Doyle's books. His photos can be found here as well. A steep staircase leads to the first floor, where the SH's cabinet and sleeping room are. After that, there are two more floors to investigate. All full of different items, equipment and wax figures of villains and characters from different stories. The picture wouldn't be complete without the souvenir shop. A bit short/small for a full 5 star rating (30 minutes are enough), but definitely a must for Sherlock fans!

Ever dream in going to Bake St. and visiting the iconic Sherlock Homes? Then this is the spot for you. The guard! He really creates a sense of welcoming energy for the place. He always smiles and is very friendly to the tourists, always try to help them even if they have broken english. The costumes! They made sure that their costumes is at the time of the of the great detective. The shop! It is well stocked on every paraphernalia of goods you can think of related to Sherlock Holmes. His hat, watch, books. They got drinks, a bit of extra things for souvenirs. Overall. A good shop. I never had a chance to visit the tour though. 5/5!

As a Sherlock Holmes fan I'd say the price for this so called museum is a bit of a stretch. It's definitely not worth it to queue in line for 1 hour or more for this. None of the items inside have any historical value to Arthur Conan Doyle, it's just an old house arranged so it can fit the story around the character. Which is cool, I liked the atmosphere, but that's really it. I thought there would be a guided tour with story telling, but it ended in like the second room. Wax figures on the upper floors look hideous and add no value to the experience. IMHO just visit the gift shop, you will find enough interesting items there.

You get what you pay for...or do you? Unless you are a die hard Sherlock Holmes fan, don't bother. Even then it's totally kitschy, with thread bare carpets, and displays in poorly lit display cabinets that look like they were cobbled together from episodes of Antique Roadshow and Bargain Hunt. If you can't stay away, then make sure to prebook and pay for your tickets online, because the lines to get tickets and get in are so long that if you want to do other things in London, this mistake could cost you the better part of your day. Also there is a souvenir shop which has all sorts of useless Sherlock merch. With so many tourist traps in London, this is one in my opinion is one to avoid.
Had an absolutely magical time at the Sherlock Holmes Museum. As soon as you step through the door, everything is so faithfully recreated from the words of the books that you're hit with a sense of nostalgia, even if you've never been there before. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and pleasantly responsive to questions. It's clear they are having just as much fun as the visitors are - fans, just like us - and I respect that a lot. Definitely worth a visit no matter how big of a Holmes fan you are, it's a beautiful piece of (fictional) British history!

A fun little adventure to see Sherlock Holmes residence as narrated in the books. The experience starts with collecting online reserved tickets from the museum store and joining the queue as per the time slot. The overall time spent was between 30 and 45 mins with a good introduction to the living room followed by a visit to Sherlock Holmes bedroom then Dr. Watson's room and then the caretakers. There are the near to life figures from the various stories that make the trip exciting. A good way to explore Sherlock Holmes residence for the fans.

This museum is definitely catered more for the fans of the book. Before entering, you have to wait in front of the door to be admitted - the house is pretty small, so they only allow a group of people at a time. Upon entering, you will be briefed by the staffs on two of the rooms - the living room and Sherlock’s bedroom. Then you’re free to roam around. It took me about 30 minutes to tour around the house, after that you can visit the gift shop next door if you like. If you’re a fan of the books you will enjoy seeing the house come to life.

The Sherlock Holmes museum was as expected. It was displayed well with the Victorian furniture and Sherlock memorabilia. pros: the gift shop had some amazing books, puzzles and other trinkets Cons: the wait. If you plan on going, buy your tickets in advanced or you will have to wait a long time while you watch the customers that purchased theirs for a specific time move ahead of you. We waited over 1 hour for the 20 minute visit. The website says walk-ins are welcome but we didn't realize the extended wait time until you go to buy your tickets.

Charming museum, with interesting re-creations of 221B Baker St., as described in the books. If you're a more recent fan of Sherlock Holmes and only know the Benedict Cumberbatch show, you can still see a lot of similarities, especially in the parlor. You're guided through several rooms on 3 floors, where tour guides explain the significance of many of the items. There's a nice little gift shop as well. Admission is a little steep, but I enjoyed it overall, and staff was very friendly. Lots of interesting photo opportunities!

We stood outside for about half an hour before getting in. The museum wasn't what I expected. It was a house where Sherlock lived. We were not allowed to take any videos, only photos. The short rundown of the life of Sherlock was very interesting, told by the young lady, she was better than the young lad. Some really interesting reading, in the newspaper on Watsons desk, the letter to Sherlock written by children and info of the item used in his crimes. It's best to book tickets before, as you get in quicker. However, I didn't.

Visited on a wet Monday afternoon in August, there was a long queue to enter (we had about 40 minutes wait) once you had purchased tickets from the shop nextdoor. The museum itself has a lot packed into quite a small area, alot of it very interesting, it seems to concentrate very much on Sherlock (at times almost treating him as a real historical figure) would have been good to have information on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. I also found the wax works to be in general pretty poor.

Nice staff and guide. The tour didn't last longer than 30 minutes, you walked around the house and checked the rooms. Nice to see, but I think you get more out of it and connect more references if you are a Sherlock fan, which my company and I weren't really... but very nicely decorated, you can tell that there is a passion that they want to keep alive. Expensive gift shop. There is a mystery surrounding whether Sherlock actually existed or not and saying this was where he actually lived didn't make things any clearer, rather more confusing.
If you're a Sherlock fan, this museum is a must! The apartment is a remarkable reconstruction, and the staff dressed for the part. They shared detailed descriptions of the rooms and some fun facts that spiced up the experience. Finally, you can take back some of the memories of the items from the gift shop. If you book the tickets online, you won't have to wait in line. Otherwise, be prepared for a ~30 min wait. Baker Street 221B did not disappoint.

If you are a Sherlock Holmes fan this place is definitely a must visit. The adult ticket was £16 when I visited which I thought was worth it. There was not much of a queue as I went early morning ( around 10.30am ), but I would advise booking tickets in advance for a queue jump. The museum has some interesting items on display and the staff were super friendly. They even gave a whole explanation about most items in the first floor apartment.

For sure, it is a good place to visit memories of the great Sherlock Holmes, and well organised, but each and every souvenir there was very much expensive. I mean, 7 pounds for a magnet or 10 pounds for a key ring or 15 -20 pounds for a mini violin is way too much. Just reduce the price and I am sure people will buy more from the store. Recommended for visiting the museum but not to buy souvenirs

Wonderfully decorated with antiques, fun letters from fans at display, warm staff... there's nothing not to like about this famous address of our favourite detective! One can almost expect Sherlock or Watson to pop in round the corner. I strongly missed the presence of actors playing them as it looked almost like a set! But perhaps it's too small a place to put up an enactment!

Really cool, but very obviously for tourists. It’s very enjoyable if you’re a Sherlock fan. You can purchase tickets online or in the shop next door, you get a small guided part on floor 1, then you’re free to explore the rest on your own. It’s a bit cramped considering how small the flat is and how many people they try to cram in there, but still really cool.

I grew up reading Sherlock Holmes books. I had enjoyed these books tremendously, and learned about the English culture as I kept reading. The Hounds of Baskerville and the Red Hair Club were amongst my unique entry into the English world. And Ive always understood that 221B is just an imaginary address, until I came across this museum, practically by chance!!

Nicely set up. Well staged with lots of antiques from the era. Bit disappointed that the tour didn't refer to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Only mentioned once and felt that there was a false portrayal of Sherlock Holmes as a real person and not a fictional character from the writings of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Other than that it was quite fun but not informative.

This place should be visited by everyone who likes to read books about the greatest detective of all time. Souvenirs are extra and the house itself is very interesting from the inside. Better to buy tickets in advance. If you buy tickets on a given day, you will have to queue for at least an hour to enter with a high probability of a downpour, as in England.

A small museum, with rooms made up according to images from the stories. There are also two rooms with wax figures demonstrating scenes. The museum store is nice, with many "Sherlockian" things to choose from. It's a very good idea to book tickets online. Because of the size of the house, they only let in a limited number of people at a time.
What a cute place!!! I love the Sherlock Holmes stories, so this was a special treat! The guides inside are super knowledgeable and the gift shop had some unique items. The only reason I have it 4 starts was because I thought the price was a little steep for how big this is and it takes maybe 10-15 minutes to go through the whole thing.
