I went to Bliss Spa today, Oct 10, during COVID-19. And I had an amazing relaxing experience. While not being able to enjoy any communal spaces due to COVID is unfortunate, everything else is simply blissful. Lol. Everything is throughly clean. I got a manicure, pedicure, and a massage. If you were to ask me before this if I would go to the spa if I had to wear a mask through the entirety of my services I probably would have said no. But I was at Bliss for over 3 hours with my mask on the entire time and it did not take away from the experience at all. While everything was great, the massage experience was excellent. Leo was terrific. He went through all of the updated procedures and precautions, and my massage wasn't negatively affected by any of the COVID-19 related changes. If COVID safety is your concern, everyone is in masks, every is socially distanced, sanitizer is readily available, and everything is wiped down between customers. Specifically for the massages they clean and wipe down after each customer and they wait until the new customer comes in to put the one time use items on in front the client. I had a great trip. I'll probably be back soon.
This was my first ever massage and... wow. It was honestly so amazing. My massage therapist's name was Jean, he made me feel so relaxed and comfortable. The actual massage was amazing. Once it was done I was practically drunk. Never in my life have I felt so relaxed. I have nothing to compare it to, given it was my first massage, but I will say the bar has been set pretty high. Aside from the practically intoxicating massage, the hotel itself is stunning. Everything from the lobby, to the lounge they have you wait in, to the locker rooms, its all beautiful. Speaking of the locker room they have a steam shower, which is really cool, and they give you a robe and flip flops to wear around. They also have a bunch of toiletries and stuff incase there's anything you forgot. It was definitely on the pricey side, I got a couples massage and it was just over 400. I can't say I was upset about it however. The experience felt very luxurious, and everyone there was very friendly, and great at their job. They deserve full compensation for their work. The experience was very worth it for me, and I hope I can go back soon. :)
The reason I gave this spa a 4 rather than a 5 is for lack of communication. I was a new customer at this spa and signed up for a Fab Facial. I knew that a consultation came with the facial and that they may make some recommendations. The issue that I had was the technician (I think it was Valyntena) did not clarify what portion of the actual treatment was included in the package and what would be extra. I felt misled when I got to the counter and my bill had DOUBLED due to the extra treatments she had done. I didn’t feel like I had the option to choose what I was comfortable paying for versus what I would have left out. The treatment itself was amazing. My face felt and looked great afterward. I just wish my technician had been clearer. My only advice is before they start on the facial would be to clarify what is included in your package and what will cost extra. Not all the technicians will tell you if you do not ask.
What a shame they go to all the trouble to create amazing spa treatments, then drop the ball at ambience. Certainly, people can part with their cell phones for AN HOUR? Not so with the patrons at the Bliss Spa -- texting during pedicures and in lobbies while other women are trying to relax is well, simply rude. Loved the deep tissue massage from Noke -- an outstanding massage therapist -- and the pedicure from Sorya (sp?) was amazing and lasted 3 weeks -- despite the woman texting next to me with her two cell phones on her toweled lap, the entire time. Unfortunately, corporate policy allows for cell phones to leave lockers as long as they are on silent. It's a shame, spas are for relaxation from all that need for hyperconnectivity...and what other people do affects us all.
I’m so glad that we found this place! It is very pricey but well worth it! With that said, the dressing area was really tight and it was very warm inside. Thankfully I knew most of the ladies in there, because we were bumping all into each other while changing into our robes. I didn’t have to wait long and the guy that did my body treatment was on time. I had the Cellu-Sculpt 3 in 1 Treatment and it was awesome. I feel bad because I forgot the Technician’s name, but he’s been there a while and mentioned that he does the training for that particular service. Jackpot! I finished with a pedicure. It was a no frills pedicure but the polish lasted a long time. If my nails didn’t grow, the polish would still look good. Overall, this was one of my better spa experiences!
okay ladies...have you ever wondered about getting a Brazilian but was always scared to? That was me until today. I worked up enough nerves to book my appt and was glad I did, I finally went through with getting a Brazilian and will continue to go back to Bliss DC for them. Christina was amazing, she understood that I was nervous for my 'first time' and talked and walked me through it from start to finish. Of course there was slight pain, but nothing unbearable. And for those with sensitive skin, do not go anywhere else, Bliss Spa wax is by far the best wax I have ever come in contact with. So, if your hesitant about booking, get over your fear and do it, you will not be disappointed.
Strip mall salon with a broom closet set aside for massages. Odd that they allow this to be in a self titled “luxury” hotel. We were contacted regarding rescheduling our appointments, and we did to allow this place to do whatever they needed to do. Should have been a red flag and gone somewhere else. Service provider was proficient. The facility (regardless of covid restrictions) was not great. The massage rooms were so small the table had to be placed diagonally to fit. I was not allowed to use a robe, and awash told they are reserved for clients with multiple services) while my wife was offered one right away. Bad facility, bad customer service, mediocre massage.
Meh. Snacks and water were great but probably the least attractive manicure I've ever had in DC. Super judgey technician who bad mouthed other salons and preached pseudoscience about how much bacteria grows in jet footbaths (you won't find those here.). Maybe it's the fact that there is near no light in there, but she left so much polish on my cuticles I'll have to go elsewhere to have it touched up. Asked to switch to shellac and she said no because she put lotion on my hands already... which made no sense since she then proceeded to put polish on my super greased up hands.
I enjoyed my treatments here. I had a pedicure and a facial. The facial was worth every penny. She explained everything and made sure I knew about any up charges if I wanted to take her suggestions. The pedicure was fun and looked amazing once done. The amenities are lacking but the steam room worked very well. The locker room is spacious and well appointed. For the price though I do wish they had a much better selection and bigger relaxation lounge. It’s the most lacking feature. But the services are what really mattered to me and both were excellent.
Made last minute reservation for myself and 2 friends while staying at the W for the weekend. Was very excited they were able to accommodate us last minute! The facility is just ok. There is a steam room to use yet the womens lounge area is missing the lounge part. The seats are very stiff and would be better to have somewhere to put up your feet instead of everyone using the center table where your food and drinks go. My facial was amazing!! Very thorough and relaxing. I love Bliss products and hope to try another location in the future.
I went to Bliss Spa for a mani/pedi with my mom the day before my wedding because some lovely co-workers gifted me with a certificate here. Our technician was Lucinda, and she was super sweet, super laid back, and she did a FANTASTIC job on our nails. Unfortunately the spa couldn't have our nail appointments at the same time, so they were back to back, and we spent about 3 hours there. But, the environment is very relaxing, they have tea and snacks, and a cozy little lounge with a "locker room" as well. Loved the pampering experience!
Booked a girls spa day with friends. We were all delighted with our services and left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. My two friends had massages with 2 different therapists which exceeded their expectations. I had the body scrub and I'm still marveling at how soft my skin feels thanks to Tina! No corners were cut and everyone went above and beyond despite us arriving a little late. The booking process was also very easy and I have a new friend in Ms. Dara who was so friendly and eager to ensure all of our needs were met.
Let me just start with I have been a massage therapist for 19 years so it's very hard for me to find a therapist that can actually make me just zone out. Today I received a full body scrub and massage from Leo and he is absolutely amazing! My skin feels amazing and I'm beyond relaxed. Perfect pressure and his draping technique is on point. My nail tech was great as well for a pedicure especially when you choose black polish for short toe nails. As a plus size woman I wish the robes were a little larger though.
This spa experience was unreal, in the best way possible. Arguably the best massage of my life! My husband and I went in for a couples massage for my birthday and it was a lovely experience. The spa itself is really nice but also the people working there and the massage therapists were both professional and nice. The massage therapists gave us a run down of the experience and asked us if we had any specific preferences prior to starting. We also got champagne following our massage experience! highly recommend
I am very disappointed in my experience. I planned a spa day for my mom as a gift and had pre-selected the services we would receive. When I went to pay, the bill had DOUBLED because the esthetician who did my mom’s facial had changed the facial I had scheduled and added additional enhancements. She did not inform her that the price would be different. What should have been a relaxing day with my mom turned into me feeling taken advantage of.
Bliss Spa DC is the BEST!!! I’m always greeted with a smile & pleasantries at the front desk. Christina is AMAZING...extremely professional & very fun. I look forward to seeing her EVERY visit. Went this pass weekend & had a Blissage 75 with Leo...what a great experience. I will definitely be scheduling regular massages in the future. You won’t regret visiting this great spa.
The spa hotel in Washington was amazing. I booked a reservation for my birthday. I enjoyed every moment at the facility. When I arrived at the facility. I was greeted by the concierge. Everyone was friendly, provided me with a beverage, and directed me into the locker room where I changed into my robe to get my massage which was 10 out of 10.
As a long time Bliss client, I was very disappointed and mildy shocked to hear that they have rebranded, since I only get my nails done with Duc. I'm beyond relieved that he's still there! Not really a fan of the much smaller nail area but I just go there for Duc anyway. He is just the best. Go see him, you won't be disappointed.
I received a 50 min deep tissue massage with Leo. By far, the best deep tissue massage I have ever had. He made sure to address my concerns and really focused on my trouble areas. Afterwards, he illustrated a stretch that would help relieve the tightness in my trouble areas. I highly recommend Leo for deep tissue massages.
A quality spa that is very conveniently located. I come predominately for the wax service as Bliss is the only place I have found that does great gentleman's waxing. I get the equivalent of a men's Brazilian which they call 'The Ultimate'. Also great place to get men's nail services, facials and massage. Bliss is best!
First time visiting The Spa at Hotel Washington. Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff. Small but clean and well-stocked locker room w/ a steam room. The relaxation lounge is tiny, though, and not really set up for lounging or relaxing. My treatment, a 60-minute facial w/ Soraya was wonderful.
Had a great massage with Leo! He was very knowledgeable (he also works in sports medicine) and helpful with the pain I had been experiencing prior to my massage. He made sure I was comfortable and continuously checked to see if the right pressure was being applied. Overall - great experience!
The service was outstanding. My massage therapist Noke was by far the best massage therapist I've been to in years. I go to spas every 3 weeks and this spa blew me away. Noke was very sweet, kind, and patient. I want to fly back to DC just to go to this spa! Loved it!!!
I have been going for massages for over 30 years, due to a chronic neck condition. I found Noke (Phouangboupha Khambay) at the Hotel Washington spa. She did the most fantastic massage, with stretching that relieved ALL of my pain points!
LOVED my experience. My friend and I did a walk-in and Farah was so gracious and got us in right away. I got a massage with a toning add-on. My friend and I loved Gene and Dimitri. Best massage I’ve had in my life *chef’s kiss*
I received a 50 minute massage with Noke. She stretched and massaged my legs and hips really well to help relieve a lot tension from the 5 hour drive to DC. Noke was kind and applied just the right amount of pressure.
I have had many facials in other resorts and at home but this facial with Liz was outstanding. We were staying at the W, Washington DC, on a getaway trip,, so you should visit if your hotel doesn't have spa services.
I had to cancel for medical reasons within the 24 hour window. I was charged $100 in full for the services not rendered despite being very ill AND a multi year loyal customer. Absolutely shocking.
I visited Bliss spa couple times and every time had a great experience. It is hard to find such amazing customer service and therapists.I had an oxygen facial and my skin looked fabulous.
I had a great experience here. I started with a 50 minute massage followed by a facial. A glass of champagne and access to a steam shower are offered after services are complete.
We showed up at open abd booked what was available. They treated us exceptionally well. I recommend the facial. And my husband had a fantastic pedicure and manicure for men.
My go-to. Kate is amazing! Services are terrific and ladies lounge is relaxing. Helps that my favorite Bliss products are used and featured!
Went in for a massage. Dawn was great! Felt so much better when I was done and she gave me some tips for stretching! 10/10 would recommend!
I got a facial here. It was absolutely amazing. I was so relaxed and had a wonderful glow after. I recommend Charlie, she was awesome.
Excellent Service. I went with a friend and we got a mani and pedi. I will be going back and recommending this awesome spot. Thanks!
Cristina gives the BEST FACIALS. I love coming here, and it always feels clean and safe with very friendly and professional staff!!
Truly the best massage I’ve ever had! Thea is amazing! The cucumber eye mask was so refreshing too. I enjoyed every minute.
One of my absolute favorite places to go to unwind and get pampered. Always great work and excellent customer service.
Charly & Maya are amazing Recommend the microdermabrasion, the ginger salt scrub, and the fab girl slim body treatment
Leo Guerrero. Do whatever it takes to get an appointment to get your legs and hips stretched out. Magic.
