Friends and I went for a Halloween Event. First, Venue--super eclectic décor which ranged from space paintings, retro wallpaper, velvet cushy pillows & chairs with colored lights. The atmosphere is worth going for. Menu-busy Halloween party, corn dogs slapped + pringles were nostalgic. There is a pizza place next door & you can bring food in (recommend if you have food limitations or want big food meal with your beverages, I think normally they do have a small bites menu). Drinks were curated special for that night, but that was one of the strong points—seeing crafted cocktails & the drinkware glasses were excellent choice to highlight each cocktail. Looking forward as each season changes & how the cocktails change. They sell house bitters—I ended up getting their Velvet Elk blend & Vanilla—fun little thing to pick up for the home kitchen bartender. My friends enjoyed their experience, everyone there was friendly staff & it seemed it drew in other individuals who were friendly/respectful. Would recommend & love to go back to.
The Velvet Elk is a surprising space, in that it's intimate and spacious, it's got an undeniably hip vibe, with an inclusive energy that assures you that when it comes to cool, it's all about you. The cocktails are well-priced and truly well-made. The menu is nuts, that is to say, in a bowl. There are also chips and corndogs- the idea being that you bring in your favorite food, add a few of your friends, then vibe into the night on exquisite cocktails and great music, and maybe a game. The small neighborhood vibe is an essential element to the magic of this place, regardless of the actual neighborhood you left to visit Mt Baker. Walk in the door and there's no mistaking that you've had a standing invitation to enjoy this place, just add you. Service? Lovely. Decor? An exact measure of the chaotic kitschy energy you require, don't fight it, it just works. All the stars from this irrefutable review of perfection complete, no notes.

Elevated cocktails steeped in the Seattle culture that feels like the place i call home. The drinks are worth coming back for... But the people make it treasure. Thankful this gem exists in my community. Cheers! Updated review: What if you could drink a Picasso at your neighborhood bar? Go here, neighbors. Sit at the bar. Order 'dealers choice' and give them hints about what you like. Don't be picky and have a wonderful experience. This is performance flavor art made just for you. Like getting to play director for a master artists for just a few moments, and then savoring the results. Let them show you what's hiding in their hand-written recipe book behind the bar.
Stoked to find a queer- and mask-friendly bar in town! The team behind the bar was so kind and efficient, even with a completely packed house. My friends and I sipped our cocktails under KN94s, and felt very welcome. At one point in the night, a couple bros barged in, despite having been asked to leave earlier. The bartenders walked them out and upheld their boundaries kindly but firmly, even after one of them spit on the door (like, spit was literally dripping down the glass). I really appreciated the workers for keeping everyone safe and taking care of a tough situation. I'll be back!
The best kept secret in Seattle. Not pretentious, everyone is neighborly, cocktails so good they make you blush. Perfect for romantic night out, buddy meet-up, pre-concert pre-funk or "Kids are with the 'Rents tonight" date night too. Treat yourself! Get to know one another again, fight over a game of Battleship. Make-up over a game of Operation. You can totally chill solo and take in the scene. I don't know what magic they have spun, but it's a genuine loving, all are welcomed experience. #Swoon #Smitten #Fabulous #GoodVibesOnly
Pretty cute little neighborhood bar with fun vibes and friendly staff. I thought their drink was pretty and tasty. I had a none alcohol old-fashioned and it was pretty very good. You can not tell it was a none alcoholic drink. The price is Seattle standard. 17 to 18 for a drink. They had a small snack menu so eat before you be here. I had their vegan corn dog, it was surprisely tasty. This place is conveniently located near me, likely I will return for more yummy tequila cocktails.
One of my new favorite bars! Your eyes will never get bored while you sip your drink, thanks to the curated art, lighting, and decor of the Velvet Elk! It's a perfect blend of cozy retro and elegant speakeasy. The drink menu covers all of your bases, whether you enjoy gin-laden botanicals, smooth whiskies, craft beer, or anything in between. If you're a gin person like me, I'd recommend the Dutch Cigar.
We came here on our honeymoon and found a “secret comedy show” we went in for drinks while we waited for it to start. David or Dave was absolutely amazing. He pulled a table over for us to have during the show. He was so attentive and quick to get us fresh drinks. That were perfect to boot! I never wanted to leave! So happy we found this gem.

The service is awful. I've given it a few chances the past couple of years given I'm right down the street and would love nothing more than an awesome cocktail/bar spot. But alas, I doubt I'll ever head back in. Wishing it was still the Saloon. Even that wasn't 5/5 but I was at least made to feel as though I wasn't asking the bartender for their left arm when ordering a cocktail or closing out!
This bar is the truest manifestation of a person's passion project. The owner not only has a unique and enchanting style for decor that draws you in, but an equally welcoming personality to match. The cocktails were creative takes on classics with just enough unusual notes to be inspired while maintaining the defining characteristics of the originals.
A fun and swanky little cocktail lounge with a speakeasy vibe! We went to the loft seating that overlooks the main bar. If you love booze forward style drinks (aka vintage or speakeasy style), this is the place for you! Great for small groups — space is limited compared to some.

Gorgeous place with very quirky decorations and fun drinks! It's so cool to have this hidden but very fun bar near me, away from downtown and capitol hill etc. The bartenders are really friendly as well, and they have a small intimate upstairs too that's great for playing board games with a few friends or bringing pizza from next door!
One of the best bars I’ve ever been to! The atmosphere is cozy and retro and the seating is comfortable. The best thing about this bar though is the bartender, she is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve had the best drinks of my life here and some crazy nights as well!
This was a random stop for me, I was walking by and my friends and I decided to stop by and check the place out. Great atmosphere from the moment you walk in, its small but is full of character. The employee are extremely friendly and drinks are top notch!
My local bar! Kinda pricey, so try going during happy hour. However, if you're looking for an artesian cocktail this is the place to go. Subtracting a star cause couple of the bartenders are standoffish. However I don't mind my cocktail with some sass
This is the perfect cocktail bar. Delicious and fairly priced drinks, AMAZING retro-inspired interior, lots of nooks you can sit in for privacy. Awesome staff and bartenders. Go get a cocktail here. The Velvet Elk is a gem, and a proper bar.
Delicous drinks, decor and staff. We had a blast at their Halloween Glitter Witch party that included bites, specialty drinks, a raffle and so many well dressed visitors. Can't wait to go back to play games or meet friends for an evening.
Very cute, cozy and intimate place. Friendly staff constantly checking upstairs if we needed anything. Upstairs is nice open loft. Simple yet very yummy stuffed pan (hand pies). Nice selection of crafted cocktails on the menu.
So bummed I didn't know about this gem earlier!! Eclectic decor, fantastic drinks, friendly staff- a lovely place to spend an evening! It would also be a fantastic date spot! I will def be back- it's my new fave drink spot!
What an amazing gem! This place is our favorite cocktail neighborhood spot. Kim and Sarah specifically are so hospitable and kind. Absolutely recommend! Amazing drinks, ambiance and overall vibe- it’s the best!
Everything I have had is beautifully balanced in classic glassware. Absolutely the best Whiskey sour I have ever had in my life. Great atmosphere and super unexpected in the quiet neighborhood. Hidden gem.
It's the perfect small bar in Seattle that shows off the city's unique style. From great drink creations to unique bar bites to a small loft upstairs, I look forward to this place opening up after COVID!
I hate to rate this secret hideaway so high because I don't want to fight the crowds that should be, and often are there but I can't deny this low lit cozy little room it's appropriate rating.
A small, cozy cocktail lounge big on atmosphere. A limited tap selection, but good cocktails and a nice ambiance makes this the perfect little neighborhood cocktail lounge to relax at.
The vintage atmosphere and amazingly creative cocktails make this a place you don’t want to miss! The bartenders are friendly, fun and oh so talented! It has become a family favorite!

We stopped by after dinner at Mioposto. It is unique place and cool set up. I do like the painting. My friends wanted drinks after dinner. The bartenders were very attentive. More
Love this place ! Unpretentious. So relaxing and comfortable. Terrific selection of cocktails and I always enjoy the meat and cheese board. Try the black eyed pea hummus, too !!!
A new (opened Feb 2017) posh cocktail bar in Mt. Baker area. Quiet with fancy cocktails and limited seating, they have an upstairs with some board games and friendly staff.
There's not really any food, but this place rules and you should go there every day

The Velvet Elk is a magical queer-friendly spot in Mount Baker where you can find quite possibly the best cocktails for miles around. Why aren't you there right now?
Went as a part if the Seattle Cocktail Club (google it!) private happy hour. Small venue, great, creative drinks. Will be back! If they have the Egg Nog, try it!
Fun cocktails with an experienced staff. The atmosphere is fun with quirky, eclectic art. Check out the upper loft area for a different drinking perspective!
Hand crafted deliciousness top to bottom. Super cozy and unpretentious.

Wow, what an awesome cocktail bar. The drinks were delicious and the service was great. Love the upstairs area with the fun old school items.
Velvet elk is perfect - amazing people, great drinks (all of which are interesting) and good at bartenders whimsey mixology. Fun atmosphere.
Name your liquid and the bartender will create an amazing drink just for you. This place is fantastic! Good for 2 or 4 people to meet up.
Great vibe, great service, and great cocktails. Menu options are numerous and they’re wonderful at suggesting what you might like.

The Saloon is a great little neighborhood bar. It's very cozy. Comfy seating. Good place to have a quiet drink with friends.
It happens to be the only cocktail bar around, but it also has solid drinks and a nice atmosphere for all types of folks.
Cool little cocktail bar across from a park in a historic neighborhood. Try the may/December cocktail if you like gin!
Such a cute craft cocktail bar. Hidden away, comfortable, easy to have a conversation. Small with super service. GO!!
This is a cool neighborhood bar, the bartender was cool and knowledgeable and the drinks were good, I will be back
Charming, if pricey. They have no food, but they do have A/C! Great stop if you're in the neighborhood.
I can’t wait for the Velvet Elk to reopen! Until then, I understand there will be cocktails to go soon?
Small, quaint, and cute. There is not much to eat, but they do offer a full array of quality liquor.
Great neighborhood bar (and glad it's my neighborhood!) with super drinks and a cool atmosphere
great date night spot! they have interesting drinks, couches, and board games to play upstairs.
Fun and funky queer woman owned bar with excellent cocktails. Great place to bring a date!
Owner sat and drank with us, bought a round. Amazing people here and well made cocktails!
Lovely hidden gem in the area with fantastic cocktails and a wonderful atmosphere.
Good place for a drink after work, invite someone cute to meet you there.
Really cute nayb bar. When the plague is over, we will head back here.
Fantastic cozy urban vibe. Feels like Manhattan in Seattle.
Made my wife a wonderful NA drink. We're going back.
Fun place to hang out and have a drink. Great staff!
Third time tonight. Whiskey Sour is the best!
Love this place! Great wine & Hannah service!
