I've been coming here for quite a few years and always enjoyed the food. Especially sitting in the warm sun on the back verandah. However, the last couple of times I've been here, I've been quite disappointed. Today, I came here with my (adult) son. I had a burger with chips and a smoothie. The burger came straight from MacDonalds. I couldn't pick the difference. The chips seemed to have been precooked and kept in a bain-marie. Warm but not hot and no salt. The smoothie was an almost flavorless milkshake. There was nothing 'smoothie' about it. My son had pumpkin risotto. The fetta cheese was so soaked in brine that the brine completely permeated and overwhelmed the risotto. He got through about a 1/4 of his meal eaten before he couldn't continue. I see that many reviews (not all) are very positive but our experience was most definitely not.

Lovely lunch here with my brother on a sunny Saturday. I had the chicken caesar salad and a couple of espressos. The chicken caesar salad was excellent. Coffee was good. For dessert we both had half a vanilla slice each and it was really creamy and whipped up with a crispy pastry. Very good example of a vanilla slice. Staff were friendly and relaxed although very busy! Other customers were nice too. It's not a really sparkling establishment in terms of decor I'd describe as rustic and perfectly suited to the surrounds. Five stars all round. Will come back here next time I'm in Warbie! Came back here and had cheeseburger with fries. Just enough, not too filling and chips were tremendous, very tasty and crispy! Another successful meal!

If I could give this lovely cafe six stars I would. The staff are friendly and the epitome of customer service. I asked if they'd do me an iced tea (not on the menu), "I think we could do that", if they had some lemon, "I think we have that too", and then made me a delicious and refreshing iced tea on a hot day! They gave me a complementary home made dog cookie for each of my dogs! There were smiles all 'round as the kids enjoyed their icecreams and we decided we absolutely had to have a slice of their homemade carrot, coconut & sultana cake too.

Stopped by here with my mum and our dog for a late lunch and it was awesome! The food was delicious and so fresh, and the service was very good. The staff there are friendly and warm and even gave our doggie a free dog bickie (which she LOVED). The only thing i'll warn you about is the kookaburras! We sat outside, and after a while of being watched by them from a tree, one of them flew down to our table and boldly took a piece of bread from the side of the plate!! If you prefer to not share with the birds, perhaps sit inside? :) Everything else here was great, however.

Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our light lunch - we both had their homemade quiche - different varieties. Delish!!!!!! Also their homemade cakes - took some home for "ron" with a cup of tea after dinner. Lamington (huge) and their specialty Vanilla Slice (massive). Can't wait to get back and have more.

Great meals and great pies. Good big breakfast and delicious 'dirty eggs' (from the specials board) with fluffy-crispy potato gems and great bacon. Prices and quantities really good compared to Melbourne's insane prices. Couldn't resist to pie some pies for the road but we were so well fed at breakfast that we had them for dinner. Sensational (lamb, and coat of arms).

Absolutely delicious! The staff were friendly in a relaxed atmosphere. Food arrived promptly and was incredible value for money. The hash stack was 3 homemade hash browns with lots of bacon, spinach, feta and eggs. I got a side of baked beans added which were again homemade. My husband got the big brekkie and it was very filling and satisfying. Coffee was great as was the fresh OJ. Can’t wait to go back tomorrow!

What a lovely place this Cafe is. We stopped for " brunch " and coffee on our way back home and the coffee was amazing, the best I had in a very very long time. The breakfast also didn't disappoint. Perfectly poached eggs on top of beautiful salmon and toasted bread with spinach as a side was amazing. There were 5 of us and all drinks come at the same time and all plates with food were served in full at the same time. Well done and thank you to all the Cafe baristas , chefs, and service staff .

It was crowded so we went in for coffee and light snack. We had pies as they looked tasty. But we should have gone for a cooked plate, they looked very good. Unfortunately, the pies were pretty ordinary. The flavour was missing. The mince was like sand, quite grainy and someone forgot to add stock when cooking the meat. But there was a good lashing of mushrooms which sort of saved it. Coffee, tea and ice cream were very good.

Absolutely outstanding The food was full of flavour well presented, delicious and very generous servings! Very reasonable prices and great service Even the background music was great!!! The staff were friendly and helpful, we had a table by the fire that was warm and cosy, so yes, we had a great experience!! Also, we took a slice of Vanilla slice home with us as a takeaway that was to die for OMG What a great place we will be going back soon!!!! Thoroughly deserving of the five star rating!!!!! ❤️

Best cafe in Warburton! We loved their breakfast menu, we got the hash brown stack and they were more than happy to substitute food items for us because we don’t eat bacon. We will definitely return here when we travel back.

My friend and I stumbled upon this café while searching for food in the town center. Although the coffee was good, we were disappointed with the vanilla slice we ordered. Despite being huge and expensive, the pastry was as hard as a rock and was difficult to cut, as shown in the photo. The custard was also quite solid, which made the overall experience very disappointing. On the bright side, the environment of the café was cozy and warm, and the staff were nice.

This is a very nice place to visit for some great breakfast, brunch, or lunch time meals. The eggs on toast can be combined with a variety of extras such as bacon or smoked salmon, with the price adjust based on how many extras you add on. There's outdoor seating, and a huge amount of tables and chairs inside also. A great place for dining in by yourself, as a couple, or even as a family. Five stars if there was table service, but we visited first thing in the morning so I'm not sure if they have table service later during the day.

Coffee shop that can not make a simple coffee! We staid in Warburton Holiday Park for afew nights. Hoping for a decent coffee walked down the track alongside the freeway to find a local gem. People where in a line waiting to make their order. We thought “that is it ! ” Very good service and nice people. Absolutely crapy coffee . We bought 6 coffee for the whole group and non were drinkable. “A coffee shop that can not make a decent coffee!” Do not recommend and do not go back again.

Walk in for lunch during Easter holiday season. Very friendly staff was happily made table for us outside in the back as we requested. Nice open space and cute kookaburra was sitting on the fence. I ordered TX chicken burger with chips & my friend had opened steak sand with chips. Chips was super crispy and hot!!!! Burger was good seasoning. Our experience was wonderful with friendly staff’s smiles. Thank you for providing great customer service !!

  • Lindsay Mann

On a Saturday lunch time, this was a bustling busy but friendly cafe. The staff were run off their feet but still provided good service. The time between ordering and delivery of our meals was reasonable. The barramundi was delicious. The open lamb souvlaki was OK - the lamb was a little dry. The mains were a generous size and left no room for us to sample the delicious looking cake offerings. Overall good value, service and quality of food.

  • lyiid

This place is not somewhere I would recommend to anyone. I went here earlier on and I ordered pancakes, now these were some of the worst pancakes I have ever had, they were in a lake of syrup on the plate leaving me unable to eat them after attempting to cut them up they were all soggy but the service here is wonderful just not the food and their hashbrowns look like a piece of fried chicken and are horrible would 100% not recommend.

  • Gwen Walker

We always dine here when visiting my daughter and son-in-law in Warburton never been disappointed until yesterday maybe but hopefully not because it was a takeaway!! two cheese and ham toasty and coffees. Hardly find the cheese and it was very very dry. we were surprised and disappointed. On a positive note the coffee was very good.

We were there for lunch and had an outside table at the back; the table alongside had not been cleared. Slow service at the register for ordering, but all the staff were pleasant. Meals looked attractive, although the corn fritters were more pancake than fritter. Poached eggs on sourdough was fine. The vanilla slice was enormous - it was more then enough for the 2 of us and could have done for 4. Coffee was hot and a good taste.

  • Sam Rye

Update: Three Sugars has improved markedly in the last 18 months. The food and coffee were both good, and service friendly. The Yarra Ranges-themed wall art is a nice touch, and maybe some more upbeat instrumental/acoustic music could have been a nice touch.

Ordered two ice cream for my 4 and 6 years old boy yesterday while we were there . We chose to use cups instead of ice cream cones cos the hot weather and the kids will not eat fast enough. we can’t believe how less the ice cream were in the cup , seems like a sample ice cream. my 4 years old boy finished it within 2 seconds , basically little two wooden spoons. Very disappointed , no way we will shop there again !!!

Fantastic breakfast down close to the river. Had the Canadian pancakes (light and fluffy with plenty of syrup and bacon!), and my partner had the big English breakfast which she couldn't even finish because it was so much food! Smoothies were great to wash it all down with. Staff were friendly and we got to meet the old dog Sasha who was loving the fresh air out by the sunny balcony seats.

Came by before noon on a Sunday and the cafe was just under half full. Quite a few choices on the menu and display fridges. Decent food (had a hashbrown stack and toastie) and serving was a lot smaller than the pancake stacks haha. Did take ages though, food only came more than 30min after placing order.

Service was friendly but the wait is very long. Eggs Benedict came on toast and not on muffin, the toast was buttered. Neither of these points are stated on the menu, and the toast was hardly edible for me as a result. Avo on toast was nice.
