Remember when you thought you didn’t need a travel agent? I do but that was before a global pandemic. I have used the Melbourne Travel Project on two occasions and in both instances Bobbie Woods has managed to save me time and money. Her insider knowledge meant I didn’t make mistakes when booking a ticket to get my husband home from the USA during the period when Australia had flight caps. With the latest trip, she recommended a much longer than usual layover at Sydney Airport based on what she’d experienced with previous clients trying to make international connections while there is still so much disruption because of COVID. It’s definitely an era when great travel agents are well worth investing in to try to reduce the likelihood of potentially very costly travel hassles. My wife and I have just spent a 42-day holiday in Europe and Singapore that Matt arranged, it included all the flights, transfers, Iceland & Greenland cruise, accommodation, hire cars and travel insurance and we were provided all the paperwork and itineraries both electronically and hardcopy. I arrived at the agency with so many places in my mind to visit and limited time to enjoy. Matt spent the entire afternoon with me finalized the best tour possible for time, availability (due to the busy time) and of course finances. He gave me a plan with destinations, tours and activities available, I just had to follow the agenda, everything was ready to enjoy my holiday. It was the first time in over a decade that my English partner was going to spend Christmas with his family. We have just got back from a fabulous European trip. We spent time in Munich, Berlin, then a 9 day Swiss rail trip, which then led into a river cruise to Amsterdam, time in Amsterdam before a stop in Dubai on the way home. All organised by Matt at Melbourne Travel Project. He did such an amazing job and everything went so smoothly. His advise and planning made the trip worry free it was amazing. I have called on Matt and his team before and they never disappoint , even getting my stranded daughter home from Brazil in the middle of the worst of the pandemic. Matthew gave me quick confirmation of quotes and prices for a tour through the Northern Territory in one week’s time. Before speaking to him I wasn’t sure whether any of this was possible in the COVID arena, but he checked it all and I was booked on flights and had accommodation and a tour through Kakadu, Litchfield and Katherine over night. The accommodation and flights were spectacular and other travel agencies had said there was nothing available. Lauren was very informative and organized. She booked the most cost effective and efficient flights that we are after and helped us to organize accomodation for our 26 days trip to Japan next year! We were sent home with 2 to 3 options we can choose from which suits us more with the budget we set. She also provided some recommendations for for places to visit and unique accommodation that we would love to experience. She is genuinely as happy as we are and excited for us about the trip. We walked in without any prior contact, confused and frustrated with trying to organise an Australia- Europe open-jaw return flight, plus internal flights, for a 2024 itinerary in an in-demand class at the busiest time of year. I came to know about Melbourne Travel Project through one of its travel agent Tanya who organized a family cruise for our 50th Wedding Anniversary. This fell through because of Covid 19 We managed to get a full refund of our cruise deposit through the help ,advice of Tanya. As a result I trusted her with the organization of an alternative plan. We booked our Honeymoon through MTP and honestly couldn't be happier. Everything was perfect and stress free! Plus we got a much better price then we could of booking it ourselves online!
