Last Friday, my friends and I, a group of about 10 people, drove 45 minutes to Trouble Bird very excited for the Black Lagoon Pop up that I had been hyping up for a week!! As we walk up, ready to spend money, take pictures and enjoy the pop up, the bouncer right off bat was rude and cold. She checked only 3 or 4 of the IDS before deciding she just didn't want us there. With a quick peek inside, we saw it was clear our group didn't exactly "look like" the other type of people inside. We were rudely sent away and shunned. Very disappointing that a business has an employee that is so willing to turn away 10 excited customers.

A new spot opened by a couple of industry legends, Trouble Bird will not disappoint! If you know how to appreciate a great cocktail, this is the spot for you. Trouble Bird is a much-needed addition in Navy Yard for a true, original cocktail. While their menu is funky, these guys know their way around the classic cocktails too and can pretty much tailor any cocktail to your preferences. I went twice the week they opened and they were packed both times. The sawada punch was my jam, but the flapjack old fashioned was a close second. So excited to have a great cocktail bar in the neighborhood!

Best place to grab a cocktail in Navy Yard. The staff is fantastic — very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Every drink on the menu is worth a try but the standouts to me are the Amaretto Sour and the Sazerac. Has a much more relaxed and “neighborhood bar” vibe than almost anywhere else in the area. Great place for a date, to meet friends or just to have a drink at the bar on a Friday night.

Absolutely adore this cute little spot. The folks running everything truly care about attention to detail, making you feel like you’re at home, and sharing their cocktail knowledge with you. Drinks are priced in line with the market for this area and are creative and fun. They’re currently running a Halloween-themed pop-up and the decor is adorable! A great spot to meet up with friends.

Trouble Bird is an intimate space specializing in cocktails with some small bites on the menu as well. I was looking for a place with unique and inventive cocktails in a space that would allow me to make conversation with my friends and Trouble Bird definitely satisfied that niche. The bartenders are super friendly and were super attentive to our needs and questions. Definitely recommend checking out!

Andrew Hurn was working while I was there, and I was very impressed with his service. The drinks were also very good, with one of my favorite riffs on a negroni that I’ve ever had. Really love what the owners are doing with the bar. This would have normally gotten 5 stars from me; however, there was one bartender that was pretty rude all night and ruined what would have been a great experience.

Great neighborhood cocktail bar! The amaretto sour was the best I’ve ever had and the snacks are tasty. Just wish the entire snack menu was available all night, but the atmosphere was so chill and happy and the service was great! Live in the neighborhood and will definitely be coming back time and time again!

This place is great! The bartenders really know what they are doing and they were very friendly. The Thai Tea Eclair was delicious and the Fried Chicken Bao was AMAZING. Update: I submitted this review too early. We also ordered The Carbonara Panini…. Also amazing! I didn’t think anything could taste as good as the Bao but the Carbonara was just as good.

Wonderful mixed drinks, friendly staff, you can draw on the bar with chalk, and it's tucked away just enough that you avoid the sports bar mentality while not being miles away from anywhere. If you're near the yards in DC and need a mixed drink and good company, look no further. Loved it.

Stopped in and just had cocktails. The breakfast old fashioned fun and tasty. The gin and tonic was okay but I'm not the biggest g&t person. There is plenty for everyone. The bartender was fun and engaging. A great spot for drinks with friends.

Cute little upscale pub in Navy Yard where they were playing 70s disco when we first walked in. This place gives off a dive vibe but it’s too posh for that. Drinks are interestingly concocted, lots of unique blending, the girls seem to like it. Space is dimly lit, w cool designs, and friendly staff.

This place is great. If you do not like your drink here, it's all on you. These bartenders listen to your preferences and make great recommendations or craft you something off menu. The coffee-forward drinks are for real, but don't let that throw you off their g&ts

We were denied service because of the color of my skin. My friend wanted to use the bathroom and was also misgendered. A drunk woman also fell and broke glass everywhere and the bar did not clean it properly. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS BAR! WE SHALL OVERCOME.

Drinks were mediocre, as was the service. Staff was friendly, atmosphere was ok which means a little strange and quiet but good music. Then they included a 20% tip on the bill unasked for. That was rude. I'll never return. Avoid this place!

Very welcoming and intimate environment, friendly staff & great drinks. Came for some late weeknight drinks with a group of friends, we were well taken care of, and will certainly be coming again soon.
