We went to the Summer England vs Wales game and it was well organised especially for dealing with the 74,000+ people that were there. We arrived 2.5 hours before kick off and there was a lot of people but no queue to get in, an hour later there were 20 people deep queues outside to get their bags checked. The gates inside to go up the corkscrew to get to your seats opened about an 1.5 before kick off. A Guinness was £8, lagers were about £7, A packet of crisps was £1.75 I didn't buy food any substantial food but a hotdog I believe was about £10 and I think a combo meal was around £20. You can buy a max of 4 beers at each purchase, but they do have paper carriers so you can handle carrying 4 beers. There are no cup holders at your seats so your beers will likely be placed at your feet. We were in the Upper 49 section and the vantage point was fine, we could see everything happening. The only thing I wish I would have done was purchased an ear piece so you could hear what calls the ref's were making, no idea on cost of those though. Everything is card payment only and we brought a small mountain warehouse backpack with no issue. The crowds were great and opposing fans were very friendly with each other.
Fabulous place, even the Guinness is markedly improved this year. Only thing I dislike about this stadium is those ridiculous twirly bits to walk up to either end of the south stand, takes a million years, best to ignore and make for the steps. Am absolutely loving the light shows these days - I've watched this stadium evolve over the last 25 years and it just keeps getting better and better. Love the gates with the lyrics to Jerusalem carved into them. On a practical note, it's dead easy to get in, the queues move very quickly. The toilets are clean and plentiful with hot water, and there's always plenty of loo roll and hand towels. Beer is very expensive but always has been comparatively. As I said, the Guinness this year is much improved. Limited choice but something to cater for most tastes. Bar queues can also be long but choose your bar well and you can usually find one with hardly anyone there. Plenty of food and drink on offer with a huge choice, expensive but that's to be expected. Fun fact: it's one of the only stadiums in the world where you can walk a full circuit from your seat without needing to exit the stand.
My experience was great, just a dream come true, seeing the Springboks against the All Blacks, it was just amazing, it's definitely the cathedral of rugby, an awesome stadium, full of food trucks and bars and music, just amazing. However, the way back to London was a nightmare. The stadium is served by just one line of trains, no buses, no nothing except for that. So, try to imagine how long can it take until you are able to take a train back to London, considering it was 81k people there that day. Yes, of course, some went back in their cars, some stayed in hotels near by, I guess. It's just a pity there is not any special extra bus line to help the back of such a crowd. Check the pictures! Two of them show the crowd ahead me, and behind me to get the train.
The stadium is as to be expected. The workers gernally left guests to their own devices, which is a better management system than other stadiums I've been to. There weren't any actual ticket checks that cut down the crowds entering the stadium to find their seats. (Maybe that was just our section though) Considering the stadium was almost at capacity, entering and leaving, getting through the lines for food/drinks and restroom was relatively quick and easy. Generally, everything was clean until the end of the game, which is to be expected. There are no mirrors in the bathrooms (if that's important to you), and I wish they would opt in for hand dryers rather than paper towel since there were never any paper towels when I went in.
Getting home to the trains is a bit of a faff as you can imagine even after leaving an hour later, but the atmosphere is incredible rugby fans are true gents standing arm in arm with French supporters celebrating their win with them ❤️ There are plenty of food stalls along the way and port-a-loos are based at the stations. Everything is well organised as you can imagine well rehearsed. If your driving in, add half an hour to your plan, the roads around the stadium come to a standstill, i would advise parking up and walking in. There's a cash machine attached to the stadium shop and plenty of official stalls selling merch.
A very interesting experience as it was the first time I had seen a rugby match. I enjoyed it, however there were very little to none options in terms of food /snacks for vegetarians/vegans inside the stadium, and toilet facilities did not seemed to be as many considering the amount of people there at that time. As I was more interested in the games on the pitch this is what I can say from my own experience, I will definitely be more able to prepare for the next one, there will definitely be a next one, to make sure that I am happy. Or, hopefully, they will make some positive changes by then.
Never been a fan of rugby but surprised my partner with a stadium tour and had a great time myself. We had a lovely host (unfortunately didn’t get his name). He was very knowledgeable, entertaining, can sing, and was patient with us taking pictures. We had a good size group which made it even more enjoyable. There’s lots to see and after or before the tour, you can visit the museum upstairs where you get to do the Haka dance, experience the scrum machine and lineout jump with lights. Went to our first Rugby game here to watch South Africa and New Zealand before they head off to France.
WOW WOW WOW We were part of the nearly 59,000 crowd who were lucky enough to watch our England Red Roses lift the Six Nations & Triple Crown in a thrilling match against an (nearly) equally fine French team on Saturday. Magnificent display of rugby, defining the superb level the women's game has now reached. We travelled up from Penzance Cornwall and stayed with friends in Kent who then also came to the match. An absolutely unforgettable experience and worth every penny ( and more!!) Bring on the World Cup and THANK YOU ALL CONNECTED TO THE RED ROSES, TRULY AWESOME.
First time for me at Twickenham, had an absolute blast. The weather was beautiful and I enjoyed the whole experience very much, I'm not a Rugby fan but I do appreciate the excitement of the sport! In terms of getting there, it's super easy to Twickenham train station as it's regular and well organised, I was coming from Clapham Junction on the fast train if that helps anyone with the reviews. If you fancy it and have the time then why not go to Richmond by the river for food or drinks especially when the weather is nice! Solid A**** LDT x
For such an iconic venue, the seats are very cramped. I've sat in many different places and they are all very small. Staff are always lovely and I always have fun.. ***UPDATE*** The staff are not always lovely. I saw New Zealand vs South Africa and could get to our seats until the second half. And that was without help from staff. We had to sit on stairs for the first half until one of the supervisors threatened to throw me out for not being sat down but also refused to help. I hated it. I've added photos of extremely unhelpful staff.
The home of English Rugby Union, Twickers, is a fantastic stadium. Its changed lots since the land, formerly al cabbage patch (ish), was selected as the building place of this historic sports structure. Game days are fantastic and the atmosphere is always incredible. There are plenty of bars, places to get a snack and toilets of course. Stewards are always freindly and helpful. You can arrange to have a tour of the stadium and see the parts that most will never see, or visit the shop and pick up the latest kit!
Not going to return to Twickenham to see music again. It's totally shambolic. Mediocre Carling beer at £7.10 a pint, no water available at any bars near our stand & leaving was the worst post gig experience I've ever endured. Terrible crowd control onto a virtually empty train platform, with half empty trains being dispatched. It's as if these stewards have never used the tube. Took over two hours to get home. You're better off seeing any bands in Europe. It'll be cheaper & less chaotic, & probably quicker.
Nice stadium, quite easy to enter with the correct App. Nice viewing areas from the pitch, to the stands... Transport links are OK. The negatives are over inflated prices, for food and drink.. DO NOT WHATSOEVER, buy beer from the mobile vendors..It is absolutely awful, pungent, warm, and tastes like stale urine.. £27-00 Burger and chips, is extortionate.. People with children must dread it.. By all means have a drink and a bite to eat, but do so before entering.. Apart from that, an OK experience..
Came here for the England v Fiji friendly. Security was quick, facilities were clean, lots of food and drink (queues move quickly) and official merch stalls. Tips: there will be lots of traffic getting there and going back, so take this into consideration. If you want to visit the official store, we weren't allowed to once you're through the turnstiles, so you need to visit the store before or after. There are water stations, so take an empty bottle with you. Lots of fun though!
Super amazing experience! First rugby game was beyond expectations! Super fun game to watch. Lots of people, but coming an hour early was a wise decision. Got some food, drinks ahead of time as well. Enjoyed it very much. Highly recommend to wait for the crowd of people to spread after the game, and then go home. But it was manageable. They keep the roads closed for cars, so the only ones are the people walking on the roads until the train station.
I love coming to watch rugby at Twickenham Stadium. It's was especially sweet as I watched the Springboks beat The All Blacks 35 -7. It was the 1st International rugby match I have ever taken my son ( 9 years old ) too and we had a great time. Lots of marshals on the walk up, speedily through the gates and easy to find our seats. The atmosphere was electric and getting foods and drink lines moved swiftly along as adequately staffed.
Fantastic experience going to Twickenham to watch England play. We parked the car in the Cardinal Vaughan car park, which was a stones throw from the stadium and would highly recommend this to anyone else too. Despite the sheer amount of people in the stadium, it was all extremely clean. Staff at the car park and in the ground were extremely friendly. Our seats were in the L9 block and afforded us some great views of the action.
Great experience. With a Danish background, I lacked knowledge to Rugby, and how important this is in the UK, so the Stadium tour was a good choice, for filling the gab. Subsequently, we had our Christmas Party in the business lounge, not sure who provided, the food or service, but all was well prepared, delicious, and diligently served, hence my rating to 5. If you get a chance to visit Twickenham, then go for it.
Twickenham is a beautiful national Rugby stadium. As you enter the fan village up-to the Lion Gate Statues (worth seeing) there is food, events, specialist drinks stalls etc. to entertain before the game. There are maps at the bottom of each spiral to help you find your section and seat. Throughly enjoyed the venue for the Gallagher Premiership Final, just an unfortunate result in the end
We went for the Depeche mode concert. The venue is really well run and organised. Plenty of people on hand to direct you to the stadium and roads closed off for safety. Really impressed with the food and drinks options available. We hardly had to wait to be served and we were happy with the service and quality. Funny security guy on the tannoy made it less painful waiting on the queue! Thanks
Incredible stadium with a lot of history. Bar staff polite and friendly, hardworking and get your drinks to you quick. No complaints about security staff too, if you’re polite to them they’re polite to you - the usual. Atmosphere here is amazing especially when it’s a full capacity match! Been here many times and it never fails to impress whatever the weather and whoever is playing.
Went to see Depeche Mode, downloaded the Twickenham app, and booked the official parking. It's well worth looking at Google maps for the shortest route out of the venue to the car park to beat the rush. Took out all the stress from previous trip experiences. Great seats above the tunnel in the press box, which gave an uninterrupted view, even had a table to put our drinks on.
Amazing experience and rugby match. However the staffing conditions were terrible at the bar in U36 area. Ran out of beck, Saw the guys stock and connect but was still told sold out...only had guiness, the staff just stood there. As i have worked in bars the standard was shockingly slow and was like it was un trained staff the que was way to long. I missed some of the game.
This has to be one of the best stadiums I’ve been to. The atmosphere with a sold out stadium is incredible. Amenities are good. Food and drink easily accessible. The only criticism is that it takes hours to get out and away from the stadium. Be patient. It is more a factor of limited train stations close to the stadium than anything the stadium can do.
A well run and well organised stadium. There are lots of spacious toilets and lots of food outlets. It is easy to find your way around and they have a large team of excellent hosts that will take the time to assist with queries. Do make sure, if driving and parking, that you come last and therefore park closest to the entrance, getting away early
A brilliant place to see some rugby! On this occasion it was the All Blacks vs the Springboks the game was fantastic and the viewing experience even from our seats in the "gods" was great. The facilities for food and drink throughout the stadium were ample and gave great choice from pizza to pies and even pour your own pint kiosks!
If you go to Twickenham to watch rugby then you will always have a wonderful experience. Every time feels Like the first time. Near train station, food places and bus network. The management of the stadium is very polite and are happy to show you around if there’s that opportunity. Would recommend to visit this stadium and town.
Stadium was great and the security quick and easy. Would have been 5 stars but the toilets, festival superloos were dreadful after waiting an eternity for one to come free. And whilst not the stadiums fault, thousands of fans all departing at 10.30pm was always asking for transport issues. Great Depeche Mode concert though!
Great night watching the Bokke own the All Blacks! Haven't been to Twickenham for a few years, aside from the train nightmares and queues to get to the stadium, the stadium itself was great. We had excellent seats. Plenty of self serve drink vending machines and kiosks available. Toilets were easily accessible and clean.
Had a great night watching New Zealand v South Africa on Friday night. Great venue with excellent views of the pitch, large screens showing excellent coverage of the game, reasonably priced drinks and get to have them in your seats whilst watching the game easy entry and exit from the ground. Definitely go again
The home of rugby, this is a well managed spectator focused stadium. There were very few queues for the bars and toilets and getting in and out of the ground was a far easier experience than I have had at other mass attendance sporting events. Thank you also to the friendly and helpful stewards.
We had a fantastic time at the Premier final. Beer and food are overpriced but good quality Marshals appear to be happy in their work and have things well organised Overall its a well attended and great place to go. I would recommend taking young kids but they could get lost in the crowd
What a place for Sale Sharks to be in a rugby final! Fantastic stadium with a brilliant environment. Plenty of facilities; never too much of a wait for drinks or loos. No line for getting through the gates. Chaotic crowds once you're in but it's easy enough to find where you need to be!
Getting to the stadium from the station is easy. However, returning to the station after the match was a nightmare. Those responsible for crowd control were clueless. We asked a few security members at the stadium for directions to our seats, but the answer we got was, 'I'm new here.'
Had an amazing time visiting the stadium to see the Red Roses play France. Staff were really helpful, plenty of them trying to direct people and help ease queues etc. Seats/view was brilliant, lots of food choices and the bonus, that we won the 6 nations trophy. Result.
The home of rugby for the entire family to enjoy. We didn't watch a game but instead spent 2 hours being shown around the place. It's not everyday that you get to walk through the RFC presidential suite and then sit in the Queen's seat in the stands. Brilliant day out!
Great rugby facility. And all the history to boot. Museum and gift shop. Loads of food and drink options once you are through the gates. If your a rugby lover this is a must visit. I was lucky enough to watch Springboks V All blacks. Atmosphere in here is incredible
Big stadium with lot of parking space, clean reception and toilets, staff friendly including security. Attended a conference and the room was good in whatever seat you are sat in. Pitch in great condition and can take some lovely pictures. Excellent day out overall!
Great venue for concerts. DM concert was excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. Easy check-in. Clean restrooms in the standing area. Beer and food weren’t expensive, even you can use machines for beer. Easy and well designed signs from station to stadium.
First rugby game at Twickenham watching SA vs NZ - what a game and what a night!! Over 80K attended so you can imagine the chaos and crowds but it was well organized and the human traffic into and out the stadium was well organized and executed!
We visited Twickenham Stadium for a Depeche Mode concert and it was a very well planned event. Very easy through security, loads of staff to ask for advice if needed. We also got better seats in the Royal Box. So, all in all a really good venue
Every single Marshall gave us different directions to our seats and as we hadn’t been before it was rather stressful and made us late to our seats. Except for the useless staff, the atmosphere and stadium were great and we all had a great day.
Massive stadium, much wider and flatter than traditional American stadiums, so a fascinating experience for a first match. Every seat in the house is a good view for the match, and there are TVs on the underside of the covered sections for
First time at Twickenham on Friday night to watch the All Blacks vs South Africa- brilliant game! Wonderful atmosphere and ground. There are lifts available to your seats should you need one or anyone with you. Did not use the car parking
Some seats and some access is better than others. So much has changed and improved (?) over the years but basically a big booze fest at over inflated prices with a game of rugby thrown in. The latest way to access the stadium on match day
The home of English Rugby. I went to the Summer Bash between Harlequins and Gloucester and had an amazing day. The atmosphere within the stadium is amazing and you are really in the heart of the game. Food and drink within the stadium is
What can I say . My holy ground. Not been here for years. So to go to here was an experience. Wasn't the best of game England Vs France 2023 six nations. But apart from that awesome experience. Brilliant atmosphere. Would highly recommend
Had a great time here watching England play Japan - the atmosphere was alright and it was easy to get drinks. I would suggest getting bottles of Carling from the men with cool bags rather than queuing at the bars, especially as they are
Really well organised. The security did a good job at herding spectators into the stadium. The food & drink is plentiful but as per normal overpriced. Parking needs to be pre-booked! Expect delays coming out of the carparks.
The home of England rugby really nice stadium very big and high up if you have seats on the upper level. Very busy with loads of rugby fans everyone well behaved and a happy atmosphere. Nice seats and good food on offer too.
Apart from having the privilege and pleasure to watch, in person, my team post the biggest win against the All Blacks in history, this experience was made all the more special by it happening at such a tremendous venue!
Great stadium, great atmosphere, plenty of food and drink outlets, the queues for them and the toilets were reasonable. Its not particularly close to public transport and food and drink inside stadium is very expensive
Always a great experience watching a match at Twickenham. Only gripe is the incessant desire from some sections of the crowd to sing ‘Swing Low’ . . . . Leave it, it’s gone, it’s not/should never have been a ‘thing’.
First experience to see Papa John's final. Only minor issue was the drinking capacity of the fans of the finalists of the fans may have been underestimated as only one bar open. Other than that a great experience.
Saw Depeche Mode live. Sound in the stadium was decent and the stewards kept things under control. Lots to eat and drink. Not cheap but decent quality for stadium food. All in all would see someone else here.
Incredible day. So lucky to get pitchside after the game. Just amazing to see so many young girls in the crowd, the future for all women's sport is greater brighter by the day. World record breaker
1st visit to Twickenham was not for Rugby, but had a magic time at Depeche Mode! Great stadium, will be back to watch some Rugby for sure! Queues can get a bit mad, but staff all friendly and calm.
Went for a concert. Access, organisation and refreshment stands all good but sound was not great and security no good at all. More interested in filming the gig on their phones than helping people.
Came here for a work event which was hosted in one of the conference rooms. Although we didn't actually watch a game of rugby here, we could see a view of the ground and it looked fantastic.
The Stadium is fantastic! We watched Depeche Mode here! But closest station is 15 minutes walk what does difficult to get home after the event as capacity of Stadium around 82 000 people!
Attended the Depeche Mode concert. Easy to get in to the stadium. Plenty of beer points open even though they were expensive! Toilets remained clean for most of the time we were there.
Congratulations to the Boks. First visit to Twickenham and the stadium handled the crowds, demand for drinks and dispersal well. Walked rather than waited for trains to be fair after.
First time there for a concert and the sound and atmosphere was amazing well managed to gain entry and exit. Good fast food and drink choices. We walked in and it was so easy. …
Great concert. Depeche mode were absolutely amazing. Only down side were people standing on the top of the stairway blocking view of stage and security doing nothing about it
Great stadium lots of places to purchase food, drinks or snacks. Clean & tidy Great view from all seats. Fantastic atmosphere would highly recommend a visit. …
Depeche Mode. Brilliant. Kinda just happened to be Twickenham, but Twickenham was fine. Very friendly (slightly older and therefore empathetic) security staff ...
Beautiful stadium with good bar and restaurants . Security is tight. One can feel kinda safe, and it's a one-way system, you cannot go back only via exit. …
Went to see the amazing Depeche Mode. Emotional when they flashed up a picture of the sadly missed Andy Fletcher. Look at all the phone lights in the crowd.
The home of English rugby. Been here lids to watch the rugby but this time I got to walk out onto the pitch to watch Depeche Mode. Bars should open earlier.
I just walked by it... I wish I could go inside the stadium.. hopefully, if I get the opportunity, then definitely give more information about the place.
Went on a stadium tour. Very interesting and informative couple of hours. Worth doing in my opinion and also the museum is worth a visit. Great Stadium!
I went here to watch the SA vs NZ game 25 Aug 23. What an amazing stadium!!!! There were over 82000 that day at the stadium. What an amazing atmosphere
Yeah had a blast best stadium for a concert I've been to thus far the food stalls and beer services were excellent also bus shuttle service to Richmond
Here for the England vs Wales game on 12th August 2023. Twickenham stadium is quite simply an absolutely gorgeous stadium. Best in the world bar none.
Amazing! Well staffed, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Lovely clean, well presented stadium with excellent facilities. Fantastic food …
Absolutely fantastic venue to see Depeche Mode, the acoustics were incredible and the atmosphere was amazing. The facilities were top notch.
The best rugby stadium in the world! Easy access. Great pubs around the area. Friendly spectator experience. The atmosphere is electric.
First time there, good seats, brilliant atmosphere and loved the escalator as I am 84 years old and a bit difficult with too many stairs.
Visited for a Depeche mode concert. Excellent staff and facilities. Although incredibly busy staff kept queues to a minimum. Well done
Great event venue. Was there for the Premiership Final. I try to go every year as it is a great day out, whether your team is in the
Been there for a DM show last night. The organisation a bit s**t, the sound could have been better but the show was amazing …
Great day out. Watched England Vs Wales. Great atmosphere full of friendly people great staff working that were all helpful.
We had a birds eye view from the top of the stadium. Thank goodness England beat Italy. A great game, well managed.
Massive place to be. Rugby, rugby and rugby at the best level. Visited many times and always fantastic atmosphere.
Amazing atmosphere and brilliant hospitality , great e-ticketing system, staff where kind and very helpful. …
What else is there to say about the home of rugby? A top place, loads of bars and didn't take long to get served.
Went to Twickenham yesterday what lovely little lanes and houses never went into the pub maybe anthor time
Surprised very little red and white inside stadium just grey concrete , prices high but to be expected
Love love love!!! Awesome place.... I just wished that the £7 for a pint didn't feel such a rip off.
Awesome stadium great atmosphere. Drink and food a bit pricey. . Pretty hectic getting a train after
Absolutely perfect stadium, plenty of foods, drinks and entertainment... stunning stuff
