I've done the SNS and my hands look very pretty now and I think the price is responsible however I was concerned when she cut up my cuticles,,, I was quite worrying that she gonna cut my skin off because I felt the tiny scissors reached the skin deeply and then it was happened. She cut off my cuticles twice and started bleeding badly. I was very surprised that she didn't seem sorry, she kept saying that I have very soft skin so that why...:( I understand that I have the dry skin from work, and the skin is very rough but I think she needs carefully to do the job. I like the people because they are very friendly and always welcoming. But I'm not sure I will come back to do my nails again... I don't wanna be in pain:( I'm disappointed a bit. And I would like to tell one more thing. After 2 weeks SNS has started falling off. I thought it was supposed to stay at least a month. This place is absolutely NOT for nails. Unbelievable.

I visited Two birds hair + beauty after looking at goggle reviews. I booked a hair treatment online, which clearly stated $65. When I arrived my hairdresser Mizuki showed me a updated price list pointing out to me it will be $70 and will I be ok with it. I am already a bit confused as I only booked the appointment in the morning and few hours later already went up $5. After my treatment, the staff Mizuki informed me will be $85 and showed me on computer screen $65 crossed out with $85…. I was shocked as they never informed me after my 30min treatment the price went up again. The hairdresser apologised she didn’t explain to me but still wish to charge me $85. I feel my consumer right has been violated as the price increases dramatically without any explanation prior. I don’t plan visiting the store anytime soon and wouldn’t recommend anyone.

Booked in for a hair cut here after reading all the good reviews and got assigned to Naoko. I was very clear with my instructions on length when we first sat down together to discuss what I wanted, which I indicated to be at least 4-5 cm below my shoulder, and that I needed to be able to tie my hair up. Ended up walking out with a hair cut that was above my shoulders and far shorter than what I asked for. I can’t really tie it up decently either. Quite disappointed with how I wasn’t listened to as the instructions were super clear, which I did express there and then and throughout the cut. The cut itself isn’t bad, but it doesn’t suit my daily routine and requirements. Sorry honestly doesn’t cut it for not listening to what your customer asked for, I wont be coming back.

I like that this hair salon is NOT one of those hair salons that would “suggest” whatever it takes to earn more money from you. My hair stylist, Mayu, has been very patient with me throughout the whole journey of deciding to get my hair coloured or not. I took a long time to decide what hair colour to get but Mayu never once showed me any impatience. Right before she started colouring my hair, she assessed my hair again and told me maybe it’s best if I don’t colour my hair as my hair ends looked pretty damaged. I was so relieved and grateful that I met Mayu, a hair stylist who made me feel she genuinely cares about my hair quality and not just about making money. Hairstylists like her are hard to come by!

Went into the Salon because 3 of my friends have recommended me. I had a haircut appointment with Shouko, and I really love how my hair turned out! Because of my previous bad experiences at other salon, I was really surprised that Shouko really listened to my request of wanting a short haircut. And even better, she really understood what I was looking for and came up with a better cut than what I initially hoped for. I think this is the first time where I trimmed my hair to shoulder length and I have a lot of people complimented the new haircut, which really speaks on how amazing Shouko did my hair! I highly recommend this salon, and will definitely come back for my next cut.

Daiki patiently listened to my expectations and carefully executed my haircut. Compared to all the other salons I've been to in Melbourne over the last 8 years, this one has been the best so far. They're consistently busy and always booked out. I really appreciate the positive vibe, and it seems like they take excellent care of their customers with impeccable manners. The price is reasonable given the quality of service they offer. I’ve been spending $60 at a Korean salon in Carnegie for years where they used a blade on my hair and rushed to finish it within 20 minutes. However, at this salon, it costs $70, and I feel like my appearance has been genuinely cared for.

Got eyelash extensions as a groupon offer and my lashes fell off within 2 days. I went back and they fixed it saying now they are using japanese glue and they fell off after 2 days again when I clearly mentioned I can't come again because I am going overseas. The girl didn't know english very well but promised me a refund if it comes off again. I couldn't contact when I was far off and now when I came back and asked for the refund from Groupon, my request got denied because saloon doesn't seem responsible for their actions. They have ridiculous service. DON'T VISIT FOR EYELASHES PLEASE!

Wanted to have a hair cut during my birthday trip at Melb then I went online and searched for Japanese salon, and I found Two Birds. They asked Mejin to do my hair cut, later on, I found that she is Malaysian who can speak in both Mandarin and Cantonese. This is definitely a plus for me!! She put in A LOT efforts and patience to cut my hairs, gave me advices on how to improve my hairs quality and some other hairs issue that I have. She was a hair salon owner in Malay - very experienced. Very satisfied about her service and I wish she would be at Syd too. Thank you again Mejin :)

OMG! Shoko was absolutely amazing!! I have never had great luck with any hairdresser before, but I think I have finally found my go to hairdresser! Turned out exactly as i requested. She was friendly, very attentive, patient & made sure I was happy every step of the way. I received a great cut & great service for a fraction of the price I'd need to pay in Japan for the Japanese style short hair cut that I was after. She even gave me styling tips which was very helpful. Thank you again Shoko san..I will definitely be back for cuts with you & will be recommending as well.

I’m so happy I found Two Birds Hair. I went in for a total style change, from waist-long hair to a pixie with Shoko. Today i have a very special occasion and i went to “two birds hair and salon” to do both my hair and my nails. Mizuki did my hair and OMG if you ever want to do a wavy look she is the best. Saori did both my finger nails and toes and let me tell you, this is definitely not my last time. They are all great. Not to mention, as soon as i came in the salon, a beautiful lady approached me to take my name, get me seated, and serve me coffee. This is by far the best salon service i had in Melbourne.

I have a very thick wavy asian hair type. Van(hairdresser) did such an amazing job thinning out my hair without making it look boofy; two weeks in my hair is still manageable -for people with thick hair you know how important this is. Good hair colour and he take his time to understand my needs and tried his best to achieve what I wanted. Highly recommend Van and a bonus if you can communicate in Cantonese. This is one of the best haircuts I had in my lifetime.

I had a haircut there about a month ago, forgot the name of the barber but I think she was the director. She was very professional and knows what she is doing, I told her what was in my mind and she even made it look better. I made a mistake by going to other salons because they are cheaper and thought that I could get the same result and save some money but nah. Now that I regret that decision, I think I would become a regular at Two birds salon.

A heads up for any others who checked out their website (2/02/2019), at the moment all the prices and services are incorrect since they purchased it off another business and have yet to change it. From the short meeting of the staff, they do seem nice and they are quite busy on the weekends so make sure to book instead of walking in . Do not book online, make sure to call them instead as their online booking system does not work at the moment.

Very happy with this hair salon! It was my first time visiting and I called last minute on a Sunday and they managed to squeeze me in. I was looked after by Aya, she was professional, friendly, and skilful. I loved her personality and how wonderful she was! She made sure I was getting the haircut I wanted and checked in with me regularly to made sure I was happy with the cut. Thank you for having me, this is going to be my new go-to place

I had a great experience with Saki who helped fixed my hair colour and did my Japanese hair treatment which absolutely SAVED my hair. Will be coming back especially for the treatment and try other beauty services such as eyelash extension services next time. Not your cheap cheap hairdresser if that's what you look for but please expect they're well trained and experienced staff who will look after you. Plus complimentary Japanese tea :)

5 Stars for Shoko's service. Reduced a star since there have been more than a few times where I there have been failed bookings due to the other workers not being able to understand me. This is a result in their poor or lack of English. I am very clear when I speak, so I am sure it is not an issue with me. I suggest having someone who is able to confidently communicate in basic English to take phone calls or make bookings in person.

I came here for hairwash & styling & makeup a few times and am a happy & returned customer. JoJo and her team of Japanese stylists are very welcoming & professional & do great hair services. Based on what I observed they have many regular customers . I have just tried out their new hair spa treatment sitting on the newly installed massage chair . The scalp treatment is so relaxing !! Highly recommended!

The service was good but quality of the extension could be a lot better. I’ve only had the eyelash extension for 3 days and can see that a lot of the lashes have already fell off. I’ve followed the instructions with staying away from water, no rubbing eyes but doesn’t seem to help. I’ve had eyelash extensions done before and they usually last me 3-4 weeks. It’s truly disappointing.

I recently tried the Japanese hair spa with Yuya San. Firstly, he gave me a great pre-head massage followed by a thorough hair wash. While lying on a massaging seat, he continued with another head and neck massage which left me feeling calm and rejuvenated. Yuya San was very gentle throughout the process and I highly recommend this experience to everyone!

Pricy, especially if your hair falls into the extra long category, but you get what you pay for and I think it's worth it. They fixed my hair after a botched haircut at another salon. I probably wouldn't go for a simple trim though because of the extra $$ for extra long hair. I also got the Japanese hair straightening here and it was very well done.

Nice customer service, but hair dressers lack experience & listening skills. I specifically asked her not to thin my hair out because it’s wavy and will be hard to maintain, but she continued to thin it out while telling me she wasn’t. Every time I blow dry my hair now I have fly always because of the thinning. So annoying! Won’t be coming again.

I had a fantastic experience at Two Birds. My hairdresser was Mayu, and she cut my hair perfectly to how I wanted it. Mayu and the rest of the staff were very friendly yet very professional and I felt comfortable giving feedback on what I wanted my hair to look like. Generally speaking, hair management is good However the makeup dresser appears not in a good mood on that day. The hospitality manner is not satisfying and I can understand it's busy during Christmas.. But.. The makeup dresser is not willing to say any words during the process of doing makeup, and the technique skills needs improvement..

Finally find the right salon to do my hair, nails and eye lashes in one stop. Surprise that they did fantastic job with very reasonable price. the staff name Jojo did it for me with absolutely great customer service. She really read my mind and understand what I wants. highly recommend this salon. it worth to try! Thank you!!!!

I flew down from Sydney in need of a haircut and I found this place on google. I got my hair cut by Daiki and he was very lovely and took time to understand what I wanted. I left with a haircut that I’ve very happy with and my hair was also toned the way I wanted. I will definitely return when I am back in Melbourne.

The stylist was quite careless. I have already told her I want more volume and apparently I don’t have much hair, but she cut way more than I need to be cut. The hair style looks very old after all, and two sides look uneven. I didn’t expect this at all with such a high price. Very upset with my hair right now.
