Before Coronavirus this post office was always overcrowded and understaffed (2 to 3 open windows). It seems staff can only speak English, staff at the window have difficulty assisting people with other languages (Spanish speaking customers) so it creates a barrier. Simple transactions were no problems, but if asking for clarification or assistance, depending on who was working the window, would result in resolution or be met with pushback (answering a question with a question, saying nothing could be done about it, unable to provide alternatives, unwilling to help). However, my mail would arrive and be inside it’s mail box. That much I could rely on. After Coronavirus, COVID19 exacerbated the problems. Windows are still understaffed (2 windows being operated). Waiting in line can last an hour and 30 minutes. Interactions with staff is minimal, but, it’s a roll of the dice: sometimes the person working the window can be polite or visibly show disdain. In one instance, the USPS app indicated my package was ready for pickup. I allowed a couple of days to pick up my package however upon arrival, it was suggested that I wait the line (a 1hr+ wait) and was met with reproach (a paying customer?) after another worker had instructed me to speak with someone at the window. I had to escalate the issue by requesting to speak with a supervisor but thats when another worker at different winodw took control of the situation (basic package retrieval, my package was somewhere in the back). Lately some of my mail is being routed to a PO at a different location or appearing with “insufficient address” causing delays in the arrival of my mail or packages being returned to senders. The USPS provides an essential service. It is heavily relied on. I get my medication and other important packages delivered via the USPS. As with most people, there are reasonable expectations and objectives when entering the post office, chiefly, the answer to “where’s my mail,” with the secondary question, “can I send this?” The rest is miscellaneous stuff like buying a cashier’s check or renting a mailbox. It should be a straightforward interaction but its not always so. 1 star. It’s evident this post office has some internal problems that need to be addressed or the aforementioned problems will persist. And that’s unfortunate since the same amount of money spent to renting a box elsewhere costs the same but with a greater level of satisfaction.

***UPDATED 11/10/21: Broken mailbox mail will only be given out on SATURDAY, MONDAY, and WEDNESDAY from the hours of 11am-2pm. If your mailbox has been broken for more than 15 business days no mail will be given to the customer. Also if you try to forward your mail while your mailbox is broken, expect to not receive 90%+ of your mail. Every week it's a different story. Sometimes they give you your mail, sometimes they return them to sender, sometimes they just hold your mail hostage at their location and tell you go home. I missed several important time sensitive mail like my apartment lease renewal, replacement credit card, and several bills. Thankfully my mailbox is finally fixed. Thanks USPS! Review for my 8/4/21 visit: It took me 35 minutes at the post office, which at the end of the day isn't that bad. There was not enough distancing for COVID-19. The lady behind me was way too close. It feels like there are only 2 employees ever working. One employee per line. I don't understand why they split the 2 lines like that (see photo). It makes it so one line is really short and the other is always really long. People are often confused which line to go on. I had to explain it to a bunch of people. It's not my job! Also very disgusted when I realized I was sharing the line with a giant dead roach. At least I hope it was dead! (See photo) 10/10 don't recommend this post office. I wouldn't come here but it's the one designated for my building. I have had problems with my mail getting lost, stolen, and not delivered by this post office. Coming here to pick up anything is such a waste of time! I prefer the Jerome Station post office. The line moves much faster and there are several employees working the main line!

The owner of this location is extremely cheap, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. There’s literally about five windows but always only 2-3 workers working … there’s two lines RED/BLUE, the red line is stuffed with literally EVERYTHING which is why this line is always extremely long, there’s always only ONE person working this line which is why this line moves extremely slow. The blue line is only for ONE service and it moves extremely fast because there’s always about two people working this line. Please see photos. The issue with this location is that everything is extremely unorganized most people come in and not even know what line they are suppose to be on, the red line literally always goes down past the front door and moves extremely slow, i wait about 30 mins on this line and all I’m doing is dropping off a pre-paid package. My service is extremely quick but because I am on a line that’s shoved with everything else I end up being in this post office 30mins-1hour. Please do somthing about this why is the red line shoved with everything but only one worker for this line? This is extremely ridiculous and unorganized the red line literally goes all the way down to the front door and doesn’t move quick enough with only one worker? Why won’t the owner of this location hire more workers to avoid this?

Some workers at this post office have the worst attitude and customer service skills I have ever seen. I came here with my parents as they needed to have a package sent to another state. We were waiting in line for the next available clerk and an older woman with long somewhat curly black hair removed the sign where she was at and literally motioned my parents to come to the desk. As we were making our way there, she started yelling at us saying “no no no, the machine is not working.” Of course, me and my parents told her that she needed to calm down and that the attitude was not needed. She started to complain about how early it was which does not give her the right to be rude to someone. She then got her manager to tell us that WE were not allowed to speaker to her in a rude manner. My father told her that if she wanted to be respected then she needs to respect us first. She could have literally told us “sorry people the machine isn’t working, my mistake” and this whole altercation could have been avoided. Please get these inconsiderate people out of this post office and hire those who have a shred of decency. Unfortunately it seems that my parents tend to deal with their attitude all the time. Avoid this post office at all cost.

Hay, How are you guise? hope you are doing fantastic. Well I Kammaking this review about both the USPS post office and USPS in general. I give it 0 Stars. I seriously mean it. I first of all wanna throw out that its really a tough service. You know we just look at the screens and magically a parcel travels from CA to NY in just 3-5 days. But the reason i give it a 0 is the commitment and the behavior. We understand that things happen and you might be late. But over the course of my 5 years and receiving over 200 plus shipments from USPS, about 190 of them "I HAD TO GET THEM MY SELF." The reason being, they are never on time. "HAY USPS, IF YOU SAY ARRIVING BY 8PM TODAY, PLEASE MAKE IT TODAY BY 8PM." Its alright if you take a day or two more, but u don't say arriving today but i have to go to your office 2 days later, wait on the big line that extends outside the office, then be treated with foul behavior with no courtesy, no thank you or even a sorry. I'm sorry but your services are really poor. Hope I was respectful all through out and didn't cross the line in terms of wording my opinion. Thanks everyone. Outstanding service .... miss harris and mr. j vega you're a STAR ! i go to this particular office and the office are always welcoming and willing to help but this particular time friday morning i came to make a delivery to TALLAHASSI FL. with too many items so i'd split it in 2 boxes cuz the bigger the box heviest and higher the price , well god send me angels cuz miss harris and mr j. Vega did it so well and professionally that no one could so first misses harris took my 2 boxes leaded me to the agent and weigh it on and gave the great advice of put everything in just one box mr. Vega helped us with that , then, with no reason to do so miss harris helped me to unpack the boxes and do it again herself i was just all over the place and she did it herself , did i mention post office employees arent there for that and all this time while doing it she was smiling and talkative i work in customer services and this is what we call a customer service experience that ull never forget i just wanna say thank you both for ur uninterested help to me Thank you very much . Poor service unfortunately. It has been one too many times when they've lost a package of mine. Yesterday, I was at work when my package was being delivered. I track the package then it says that it was delivered and given to an individual. I was expecting a notice to have been left telling me that I have to basically pick up my package from the post office. But, no. It was gone and given to someone besides myself. This is the third package that has been lost by them and given to the wrong person. It's unfortunate because it's kind of keeping me from purchasing things online despite the fact that online may be the only place where I can find certain items. It's also disappointing because I used to see USPS as being better than UPS or FedEx because of their minor mistakes. However, completely losing a package is more than the small mistakes UPS and FedEx have made. I don't know how they go about hiring their workers but perhaps coming up with new and/or better methods or procedures to make sure packages are put into the rightful owner's hands.

I have been in this postal area for over 30years. There is no way to describe how terrible the service is and has been for a very long time. Most times the lines are out the door with usually 2 employees at the services window. There is no organized direction for patrons. You may wait in line for 1/2 hour or more and have the window close for lunch when you finally get there. Or better still, you may be told that the line is for money orders and stamps only and you have to go to the end of another line. There are times when all services are in one line including pickups and pp drop offs with 1or 2 windows in operation. If the weather is nice I take the bus to 149th St or 181st St where most times there are no lines and the atmosphere is pleasant and professional. You are usually able to walk in and out in reasonable time. It is my opinion that this station needs to be expanded or a new building located with a change in management training.

If you had to come here to save your life. Then you probably not be here anymore. Never dependable. Always rude workers every day who probably hate themselves and you. Stupid rules about lines that never seem to be in order. The most depressing unwelcome post office I’ve been to. They lost 8 of my packages so I send any mail I can elsewhere. They deliver my mail anytime. I’ve come home from work at 11pm and saw the post man in the mailroom area of my building. I haven’t had a mailman for my route in over 2 years. They don’t even try here. Would be be better if they knocked it down and turned it into something else like affordable housing honestly. The line is always long no matter what time you come and you are sure to leave unhappy. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I hate it here. They probably gonna lose my mail on purpose for writing this review but I don’t care I already get the worst service

This is EXTREMELY RIDICULOUS, a whole week went by and still NO ONE HAS PICKED UP THIS PACKAGE!!!!!!!! I SCHEDULED THE PICK UP FOR TUESDAY AND NO ONE CAME !!!!! I RESCHEDULED CONSTANTLY DAY AFTER DAY AND NO ONE IS EVER SHOWING UP !!!! It is now SATURDAY NIGHT AND THESE PEOPLE STILL HAS NOT TAKEN THIS PACKAGE NOR SCANNED THE ONE THAT THEY DO HAVE IN CUSTODY !!!!! What is wrong with this location ?? I CANNOT RELY ON THIS LOCATION TO SHIP MY ITEMS NOR TO SCHEDULE A PICK UP WITH THEM !!! This location is HORRIBLE , I created a service request on TUESDAY and this location STILL HASNT CALLED I AM EXTREMELY UPSET AT THIS POINT. Next time I’m calling IM CALLING TO ESCALATE THIS CASE WITH THIS LOCATION BECAUSE RHIS IS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! 0 stars. I dread going to this post office every time. Very difficult to be seen in a timely fashion. Usually arrive around 8:45am and it takes at least 30 minutes to be seen even for a pre paid package. The lines just move so slowly. Other issue is around 9am, they will only have 1 window open, but there will be several employees on the side just chatting, instead of opening up windows. They usually wait till 9:15 to open up just one more window, even if the line is outside at that point. They also leave two lanes open, but then yell at patrons that there is only 1 line. Heres an idea, how about remove one of the lanes. This will avoid confusion and ensure that patrons only get on one line(very simple solution). Lastly, once it hits 9am there should be a worker outside of the windows accepting pre paid packages, this would dramatically decrease the wait time.

Took off work today waiting for a letter requiring a signature. Left a note on the front of the building for the postal carrier and did not leave the house. Checked tracking at 6. Said undeliverable/receipt left. I have been home all day. There is no receipt on my front door, on my mailbox, in my mailbox, or on the front door of the building. Guess they can't walk up three flights of steps and can lie about leaving receipts. I know who the carrier is. I'll have to talk to him next time. It's very aggravating. When you live in the Bronx, USPS, Fedex and UPS don't take their jobs seriously. You pay for service, and then don't get it. And then have to jump through hoops to get your package, which you paid for. The lazier this country and its people get, the more we're going to see this.

They can't even deliver an Amazon package that I needed for school. They don't even try and I have to go there tomorrow and probably wait in the same long lines like everyone else. This package was suppose to be delivered on Friday so I could write my paper this weekend. I went to get my package that they claimed they ad for me on Monday. Turns out they never had it to begin with. On Friday, the day it was due, they sent it back and never made an attempt to deliver it. If a place deserves no stars this is the place. They are incompetent and there is no communication whatsoever. And they lie. So next time when you get a package on Amazon, just do the next day option or get prime, better option is the fed ex or ups!

They should do some major improvement on this place, it's federal building and it's so dysfunctional. Signs telling you something while the the only employee that's actually taking care of costumer tells you something different. There was more then 30 people waiting and making the two lines like the signs say. One for pick up and the other one for purchases. After 40 minutes waiting in the pick up side and people fussing and complaining a lady with an attitude came to the pick up side and ask me to come forward (since I was the first one on the line after people started leaving) When I gave her my ID and pick up slip she asks me if someone told me to make that line, like if I don't know how to read the signs.

Horrible experience on the phone. The first time I called a female employee put me on hold for about ten minutes. I called again an the same woman answered. She put me on hold for more than 30 minutes. She was not even paying attention to what I wanted to say before putting me on hold. The third time I called the phone was pick up and hung up right away. The same happened the fourth time I called. After that she did not pick up the phone again. Please if you are busy let me know and I can call on a different day or time. Do not put me on hold if you know that you will never pick up the phone to talk to me. One star is too much for such a worst customer service.

They never ring the doorbell or knock on the door. They say they leave a note and never do. Even when I schedule a re-delivery they never come. I'm currently waiting on a package that was suppose to be delivered the 5th of June, requested a redelivery the 8th. I opened a case on the 10th and still nothing. I called and spoke with an agent who specified they have the package but not sure why they aren't delivering it or why no one has contacted me. I shouldve received my package the 12th, the latest.. She has forwarded my complaint to the higher ups and they will reach out but its already been 4 days. I just want my package..

For the most part, the staff does the best they can under the circumstances. Since the community's volume has increased over the past decade, it adds to the longer wait in a small venue. Additionally, patrons often bring additional members with them, adding to the long lines. One problem I have is I have postal box service. I've had a PO box for over 30yrs. My mail if often not put into my PO box vs delivered to my pvt. hse. residence (which I don't want because of the crack heads in the neighborhood) or erroneously delivered to my neighbors' home. I'm always getting some other addressee in my PO box.

By far the worst post office on earth. I watch out my window and watch this fool knock on my door bell and pretend no one is home. They wait around the lobby and then leave. When I am actually recording them from my window. This are the worst employers on earth and should be closed down. Sad to say I am a veteran with a bad back and have to walk my ass to the office to carried my own package when I am paying for shipment. Someone needs to something about this eaither closed the damn post office down, change the management or fire everyone in it. Sad and a disgrace to put them as a federal employers

The worst package carriers come out of this station. They lie and say they attempted to deliver..my lobby front do or bell is attached to my phone..claim they left notice..non there..and lie on text alets by scanning the item the next morning with above lies... I have spoken to this post office..on jerome to complain..and their supervisor is a clueless ditz..no wonder no-one does any work...the worst... If the post office had to compesates their customers with free services maybe they would get their act together...0 stars is what the package carriers get..no my daily post man.

If i could give this place negative stars, i would. Worst place ever. Long lines and i dont mean like 2 or 3 people in front of you, i mean like 10 people and you will be there for hours just waiting till its your turn. customer service is not so good, when you ask questions, or inquire they appear to get annoyed or dont want to be helpful. it is short staffed, whenever you go there are only 2 windows open and you wonder why the hell they dont just replace them with self serve kiosks. I have never hated a post office as much as i hate this one.

Something really needs to be done about this post office. The service is horrible, I would rather a package be returned to the shipper before I go there to pick up a package. This post office was never this bad. There is a problem with mgmt. It is necessary to have a post office in this area but does that mean we have to suffer and take any treatment that is forced on us. This problem hasn't been addressed because of the neighborhood, if another govt business in an affluent neighborhood were complaining as much, this would never be an issue.

This place is the pits, I have gone here about 4 times and line is impossible. People are orderly & social distancing but workers are slow. In morning by 8:40 am there is a line, 2pm along line and they only allow 4 people in at a time with 30 ppl waiting outside no matter the weather conditions. When you do get service they are efficient and helpful just slow. Usually 1 or 2 workers actually working while rest are in back talking & not being help to get line down. Most dislike place to go anytime of the day. ( Line post office Burnside)

Horrible place. Even over the phone. I recently had mail stolen kept caling to follow up on the report and no one answered the call. I was left on hold since 3:30pm til the phone call disconnected. In addition i had called the customer service line whos automated system said if i wanted a call back to make the selection which i did and then they called back after 3 hrs and when i picked up the call they disconnected the call. Terrible service for 2018 we should have more people working or a more efficient online service that works.

I was just there and this lady according to her a supervisor tells me I can’t get my package because I’m Im showing her a picture of my ID because I left since I thought I could just do that . She tells me “ PICK UP TUESDAY “ I work for the city I can’t do that but since is an important package from the city of New York I’ll just tell them what the post office did . Anything happens is their fault & a law suit . The only reason I was here is because nobody knocked on my door or left a notice for me to come and get my package.

If i could give it 0 stars I would. If you are lucky enough to choose another location please do. The employees are all over the place, it is super unorganized one day theres one line for mailing the next day its on the other side the next its only 1 line. Its completely insane and frustrates every single person that walks in that door for mailing service. On top of that they are extremely rude! I really really hate this location but unfortunately I have no choice since it is my zipcode. Horrible freaking service

I just wanted to mail a letter and there was no mailbox outside - the door was closed because it was after 2pm. so I tapped on the window to ask the lady that was an employee who is on her cell phone a question about the mailbox who then rolled her eyes at me and then open the door and took my letter but I never got to ask the question where is the mailbox. But I was thankful she took my letter. . I have lived in this neighbor for almost 30 years. And this post office used to have the nicest people. What happen?

The lines are usually VERY LONG but if you come early in the morning, you will be seen faster. Im giving 5 stars because i had a very good experience there! I came there around 1pm and saw the line and turned right back around and decided to come the next morning. They have on the door that it opens at 9 but i got there 8:45 and they were already open and servicing people.. which i thought was amazing! The staff that took care of me was very nice and friendly and took his time to explain everything to me!

I give one cause to the fact that I can't give 0.. Take that as a ( -1) Mail box lock has been broken for a long time now. Put in many complaints about packages BEING STOLEN and it seems like they just don't give a F....k about our deliveries and the money that's being lost due to their NEGLIGENCE!!! See foto section.. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!! 111 w 183st Bronx NY 10453. Call for service and they NEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE after 57 minutes on hold, then just cut off.

This has to be by far, the worst post office I have ever been in. This post office is too small for it not to have enough staff to handle the people. The few clerks that are there have attitudes and one actually gave a customer the wrong information and then got upset when the customer called her on it. People who use this post office regularly need to rise up and voice their frustrations. People in other neighborhoods would NEVER put up with this kind of treatment.

I wish I could give 0 stars that's how much I dislike their services. A carrier stold my package they continued to give me the run around and closed he case without ever reaching out to me. "Ms. Diaz" the supervisor has never reached out to me as promised. Not to mention they're so rude in this location. I wish I could change my "local post office" I'd rather travel far than ever have to deal with anyone in this office. I wish they would close it down

I have been in that office three times and each time the staff had a horrible attitude. I needed information to send my mails and all the time the workers gave me incomplete information, making me waste my time in endless lines unnecessarily. The last time I was there I had to talk to a female supervisor and I explained that she was in my third row because the counter worker, who had a very bad attitude, did not give me the correct information.

I received an email from Amazon which told me my package was attempted for delivery but never did i receive anything from USPS in my mailbox. Then the redelivery process online is horrible. I had to go to the station wait over 40 minutes for the package. The worker at the window was having a side conversation with another worker and i had toverbally say the tracking number three times. Shame!!! Only in the hood. Never acceptable in other areas

I wish I could give them a negative rating. I don’t know who does the university and Tremont route for the packages but out of the blue someone delivers but the usual person that makes deliveries never does. We are home all the time and they always say they can’t access the building which is total bs since building intercom works and all the usps mailmen have their own key. I believe it’s just laziness on the person that does the delivery.

I am black and I'm telling ya if u have this place running by Latino or some other nationality it would definitely be a more pleasant place to visit.. ps ever since Desiree the lady with the dreadlocks she was soo nice to everyone/ patient and understanding.The others especially the one with the big lips is always high or drunk.. very unprofessional and disrespectful. I would give 0 stars but not possible so I'll just go with -00000

I dont even know why they send packages through usps. Ive seen the man come out the truck with the nothing but the slips. They dont even try to deliver our packages. Ive been in the post office so much these past couple of months its ridiculous. There is always a crazy line and its because these men dont even try to do their job! The lady isnt even bad considering shes the only person there to get all our packages, going back n forth.

Worse customer service I've ever experienced. Long lines that move at a snail's pace. Inquiry window (#5) exceptionally rude. I hate when I have to go to that window to pick up a package. Sometimes I don't even want to be bothered. Overall postal workers at the windows are RUDE. I track my packages on line and they don't seem to know the Fedex Smart Post is them. They got one star...they really deserve ZERO stars.

By far the worst postal experience and workers come from THIS location... they mark packages UNDELIVERABLE and DONT LEAVE SLIPS so that they can stay in their truck and don’t have to ring a bell — the people at the office are nothing short of useless and unhelpful. I’ve waited 3 hours for a package, not one USPS truck comes trough, YET MY PACKAGE COULDNT BE DELIVERED HOW USPS HOW?! Get more honest workers.

This is literally the worst usps office I’ve ever dealt with! You can call a million times and no one will answer the phone, if someone does answer they put you in hold and never come back. On multiple occasions I’ve had to go get my packages myself because their delivery driver says they deliver when they actually don’t. They opened my child support checks and it is not the first time, they have been doing this for a long time. My checks arriving open to my mailbox all the time. I do not know why they do that but I will notify this to the police. They already have me tired. I think one of them is trying to steal my information. Worst customer service. Seems like these people wake up in the wrong side of the bed... everyday. Delivery people do not like to bring anything that weighs more than 5 pounds to your home so they leave it at the post office so you pick it up yourself and leave a fake note saying that they tried to bring it but you weren't available. The people who gave five stars are probably employees.

This is a omicron worse usps location I ever seen. The service is horrible, the location it's always dirty. If you love your life please don't come here. People make sure to write the worse review please so maybe the united states postal services stops spreading covid-19 omicron by allowing this unhealthy business practices. By far the worse usps location in nyc. Located in burnside.

If It's possible to give this place negative stars I would. This place is horribly managed, who is the manager at this post office? There's always like one window opened. Lines are horribly long. To pick up a package you have to wait extremely long. If you could avoid this post office please do this place is horrible. Rude staff, horrible lines, incredibly slow, and poor management.

This post office is the worse in the city.that's the in office floor.the supervisor and some window clerks are rude other are professionals and can do the job. Suggestion more clerk everyday, common sense, if have two line make it two lines for customers. Instead the rude floor manager just argue with you. Get into the 21century put in self service machine to less the waiting time.

Always slow as HELL!!!! There could be just five people in line and you will still spend at least 30 minutes in there. Other days the line is doubled out to the door. Went today to get a package, that for some reason the mailman didn't bring to my door even though I was home, and even the line for pickup only was ridiculous. Smh. It's not like this at other post offices

I wish I could give it zero stars. Disorganized, slow workers. EVERY SINGLE TIME they never cease to disappoint me, whether I am delivering a package or picking up. They lose everything and take forever to figure out that they don't know where it is. Staff is SO SLOW, I work in customer service too. And what takes them 2 minutes is a 25 second task. Terrible, terrible.

Horrid customer service, female employees seem to hate their jobs as they give off the nastiest attitude. Long wait time and short staff is a recipe to take your business elsewhere. Also noticed most of the staff is predominately black which causes severe language barriers to non English speaking clients who refer to other clients for interpretation.

This was a terrible service, I give 1 star because I can’t give 0 star. I went there to ask what happened with my package that I sent in this same post office 2 weeks ago because it never arrived at its destination, and when I check online it says Awaiting for delivery scam, they just tell me that they don’t know and they can’t do anything about it.

I don't know why USPS don't like delivering their packages. They always leave a note saying I wasn't home and I check the cameras and they never came. They lie about it all the time. And to make it impossible to reschedule a delivery, they say there is no location secured. I don't even know what to do anymore about this situation.

I wish I could give this post office 0 stars. Unprofessional, faulty, always messing up deliveries. The delivery drivers are constantly delivering packages to the wrong addresses. Lazy work group that doesn’t produce results. Corporate should definitely take a look at this location and revamp the employee base there.

The mail man for 10453 is awesome, how ever the Delivery truck workers steal packages! mean while they mark them as “left with an individual”. When you call the actual post office all you get is poor customer service along with a lot of teeth sucking. Management needs to be harder on their staff. This is ridiculous.

I waited 1 hour 38minutes to receive a pick-up and when it was eventually my turn the lady told me she can’t find my package and took my phone number.it was so annoying and terrible service delivery. I can never go back there. They are too slow with service and the long queues is just crazy.

After been waiting for 20 minutes in the line to pick up a package the employees said is only one line, so the other line that is send packages was more than 20 people waiting already and I had to go to the back of the line. And the line take forever because there's only 2 employe working.

Worse post office in NYC. Avoid at all cost!!! Poorly managed and the staff are extremely rude. 5 windows and always only 2 workers with no managerial presence. Expect to be there at least an hour. The shelves are empty so you have to wait on long lines for any forms.
