Awful post office. Carriers are lazy and will do anything they can to get out of delivering your mail and packages. Here's the complaint I just made on USPS website (which probably won't ever be addressed). To whom it may concern, Our mailbox is affixed to the wall next to our front door. Carriers must exit their vehicle to deliver mail to this box. We've been at this address for almost 3 years and for over 2 years, this has not been an issue but now we have a new mail carrier and I don't think he likes getting out of the truck. One day our small dog barked at him (ONLY barked) and we were left a hand written note by the carrier that we would have to move our mailbox. I don't believe he has that authority but okay. A couple of days later we received a letter from our PO branch manager stating that the dog would need to be confined when the carrier came to deliver mail or they would not be able to continue. Okay. That is a completely reasonable request and a fair way to handle it and we have made every effort to make sure that our dog is confined in the house during delivery. I make sure he is NEVER outside during the time of normal delivery and I even watch him the entire time he's outside at any other time of day as well just to ensure we don't have a problem. HOWEVER, despite the branch manager stating delivery would continue, this weekday mail carrier still has NOT ever delivered any mail to us ever again and furthermore they lie about our animal's presence to avoid having to do their job. They don't even attempt to deliver our mail and I see them just drive right past our house and on to the neighbor's homes instead. It's actually rather insulting because I am paying my taxes for this service but I digress. This most recent incident (tracking # attached) is very aggravating. The tracking information indicates that there was a "Delivery Exception, Animal Interference" at 8:43 AM this morning. This is an outright lie as my animal was in the home, next to my feet in my office at that time. Additionally I have a door camera and there was no delivery attempt made this morning. They never came at all. So we have several issues here. 1.) we're not getting our mail on weekdays AT ALL 2.) The lies are compounding the issue making it look like we are not confining the dog as instructed when we in fact are. 3.) They are letting the mail pile up and leaving it for the Saturday carrier to deal with so they are inconveniencing us AND adding burden to their coworker. This needs to be resolved but the branch NEVER answers the phone to allow me to speak to the manager and when I go in person, the manager is miraculously not there. Completely absurd.

Ordered dog food from Amazon. Had no idea it would be coming from USPS, otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered. I got a notice in the mailbox on a Saturday stating my package was “too big for the mailbox”. Well of course it was. NO attempt to leave at the house. Probably didn’t even try and take it off the truck due to the weight. Left no office for pick up—which post office I should go to so I filled out the form that stated “let your carrier know what do with the package”. I TAPED the form in 3 different places in and on my mailbox for a week! The mail would be stuffed in around it. I even taped the mailbox shut with the form so the carrier would finally see it!! The carrier tore the form in half and stuffed the mail in the box!!! Unbelievable is the nicest word I can come up with! It finally rained and the form was ruined. The carrier dropped off yet another notice yesterday saying delivery attempted- box heavy. I was home the ENTIRE day and no one knocked on the door attempted any delivery. I complained to Amazon—not that it did any good. STILL not sure what branch the package is located at and may just let them return it back to Amazon. As a fellow government employee, it is sad. Some of us genuinely care about doing a good job and don’t represent the work ethic of this agency at all.

I do alot of selling online and may need to inconvenience myself by driving to another post office when dropping off my packages. I have many issues with the church street location. Tracking of my packages usually starts on average 2 days after drop off. These defeats the purpose of priority mail and my buyers may give me a bad review for slow shipping. Now I'm dealing with a lost package worth big bucks that they have no record of me ever dropping off! Not to mention the homeless people living in the lobby at night, who leave their syringes, baggies and pill capsules on the lobby floor. I have been chased by junkies that hang out outside the building to ask patrons for spare change. This isunacceptable. They need to have a security guard there at night because it is not safe! But yet, I have never seen one. I also went in to get my first passport and was treated horribly by the women working the counter. I also recieved other peoples mail and packages to my address and have been a good samaritan and returned them. This place sucks.

Priority mail was super delayed I called the post office to cancel and bring it back to me. The clerk that i spoke with said there's no way to cancel, i said it's not worth it i paid priority mail to get to it's distination at expected time, my friend from california whom supposed to recieve the package left already for vacation back home to my country. This clerk is rude and not helpful , i told her i trucked the package 7 days still in guam, she asked me back " do u know why it still in guam?" stupid.. You're the clerk you have the record in your computer you have to know. She conclude i might had put the wrong address.. Well i gave her the tracking number obviously she didn't know what she's doing and talking. Last i asked her if there's a way they can reimburse the fee, she said she doesn't know but they can deliver it back to me for free. Worst clerk!

I’ve had great and average experiences at this location. This review is for my experience today. I have been to my share of post offices all over the country. As a whole, most of the employees seem to have no sense of urgency. I went in to the Church street location to renew my passport today. Donna, saw that I had a passport in my hand and quickly directed me to the appropriate forms to fill out for renewal. I watched as she helped other customers, friendly and very efficient. I have never seen a post office employee move through a line so quickly! Needless to say, Donna needs a raise. She is hands down leaps and bounds above any employee I’ve ever interacted with in any post office, EVER! Thank you Donna for making the passport renewal extremely less painful than I could have ever anticipated!

  • Natalia Parolie

For the manager/supervisor I spoke to today: This is what you do when your one of your staff sent my box out without a label that got sent back to me 10 days later: 1. You offer to send it overnight. 2. you refund the customer. Instead what did I get? Had to beg the person at the window to try a little harder as she told me I was gonna have to come back whenever the person who checked me out last time was back from vacation. Then finally after speaking to people in the back she got "permission" to help me. Both of them acted like they were doing me a favor by sending my package free of charge, LOL, I already paid for it geniuses. When I asked for a refund since my package did not arrive at its destination 1 week ago as promised, the manager said no way.

  • Ross “WeGetToTravel” Jones

Minimum wait. Very helpful staff. I had stopped at another post office and asked about delivery of a letter to Vanderbilt as quickly as possible. The other post office said to go to the church Street Station Post Office because Vanderbilt directly picked up their mail there. The first post office weighed my letter and put a $0.70 stamp on it. When I got to the Church Street Station, the postal worker weighed my letter and it was $0.21 more but she said don't worry about it and processed it with the postage from the other location. And she promised me that it would be hand delivered to the location where Vanderbilt picks up their own mail. It was a pleasant surprise to get such helpful service from the post office.

  • Jan Minshall

I want to commend Pam (our postwoman at One American Center in Nashville) for bringing my crucial file folder to me personally after I inadvertently dropped it in the postage bin with boxes in my arms AND for Candace Gilmore, her manager, for courteously receiving my several urgent phone calls describing my predicament, and for taking the time to contact Pam. Both are exemplary employees, and words cannot express my appreciation to both. This service reminds me of "small town USA" . I wish the world were full of women like these two. Jan Minshall Office Manager White & Reasor, PLC 3100 West End Avenue, Suite 1100 Nashville, TN 37203

I'm new in town and this is the worst post office I ever encountered. I have been having issues with regular mail delivery but on top of that, when I received a parcel via registered mail (signature requited), I was not home so I have it scheduled to be redelivered. I received a email confirmation as well as email "reminder for delivery". I had to take a day off from work! and stayed home all day. It was not delivered. Now they tell me I have to go to the station to pick it up. I work from 8 -6 Mon-Fri 25 miles away from the station. They cannot send it to the postal office near by my office or to the alternate address.

  • Malik Browning

I understand that apparently now processing passports requires appointments (as of a few months ago, according to staff), but you people need to take a lesson in customer service, because you instantly came across as immediately accusatory and disrespectful toward someone ignorant of this recent change. And I was having a great day prior to this, and there wasn’t a line of people when I came in, so busy wouldn’t have been an excuse. The tone of the “Good luck...” as I was leaving was a tad sarcastic sounding, as well. It was entirely unnecessary and did not nor would have contributed to the interaction at all.

  • Mary McGrady

I have cancer and care for my disabled son. Our mail carrier has not been picking up packages from our porch when I schedule package pickups. We live at the end of a row of townhomes with the mail boxes on the opposite end. For some time now she has been leaving all packages my the mailboxes instead of putting them on the porch like she used to do. I have put in complaints and have called dozens of times (no one answers). This is not right or legal for her to do this. I am about to take legal action with the American Disabilities Act to get this straightened out.

  • Thomas Lekai (Tom)

I went here to mail a package. I bought the padded envelope from USPS and brought my own printed label. Then the lady proceeded to tell me that I need to buy tape to put my label on the package. Turns out this is a discretionary charge, they can decide to charge or not. Since I bought the package itself from USPS you think the least they could do was tape the label I brought with me on. She taped it on for $1 and of course its not even a service they offer so it comes up as MISC Revenue on the receipt. Such a scam! Terrible customer service.

  • Kim Haugen

Sad that Amazon keeps using the USPS in this area for delivery. The laziness of the carriers is evident. If I am in a hotel and I have the same address on all my items, how come every weekend a delivery is supposed to take place, they "can't access the front door". Even worse, I got an order delivered one day, and the same day a second one stated that I, "the customer", requested it to be held at the post office. The hotel is 24/7 with doors unlocked at all times...LAZY. The USPS's slow demise has only been accelerated at their own hands.

  • Angelique Phillips

The staff is very disrespectful and mail always misplaced or mixed up with other individuals mail. The carriers need to be more careful and not be in a hurry when they are delivering mail because I had some very important mail that I needed and it didnt arrive. Whoever Dynette is or whatever her name is that works at Church Street post office is not so friendly and need to be coached on how to speak to people on the phone. Otherwise she would cause some conflict and your ratings will have a negative impact on everyone there.

  • Christine Estes

I don't understand why nearly every time I purchase postage online and drop in the bin at the Church Street Post Office at 8:00am or earlier the same day, why my items don't show that the post office received on that day when checking the tracking number. This makes my eBay buyers think I didn't really ship the items when I indicate that I did. When items are dropped off early in the day, they should be updated in the USPS computer just like they would be if I handed them to a USPS clerk.

  • Cleo Burrows

I think it’s a shame I have tracking on my packages and the mail carrier lies about delivering my packages and I can’t call my local post office to register a complaint and this keeps on happening , I sit outside four hours waiting on my packages for them to scan my package and say there not able to gain entry to the building this has happened to me several times and the local Church Street Office 1718 Church Street Nashville Tennessee will not answer the phone , this is unacceptable

  • Billman

Here's a challenge: go to this post office and attempt to mail a simple parcel or letter, and just try to get anyone who works here to help you without first saying "I can't send this, because reasons." For bonus points, try to wait in line for several minutes watching other people being berated for the heinous crime of attempting to send something, without getting angry. How terrible we civilians are for waking into a post office and expecting someone to help us.

  • Branford Rimbert

Understaffed always, and a long lines. Waited for 15 minutes to get up to the front to tell me I had to buy a tape strip because they don’t do it...so I end up getting a strip and waiting another 10 more minutes back in line. After she scans up my tape strips and tells me to step aside so I could take up the package, the lady behind me ask for tape and the clerk tapes her package...the lack of her willing to not want to help is hard to believe

  • Caitlin Keenum

While it's true that the hours are wrong and this SHOULD BE and quite frankly, IS, an easy thing to rectify for the satisfaction of the public, the employees working at this facility cannot control the government's google pages, nor their inability to do the simplest things. It's the government, after all. Are you really surprised? The staff have always been pleasant, polite, and attentive. I am pleased with the service I receive every time.

  • Johnell Nelson

This place is the worst. Delivery drivers lie and say they attempted deliver your package when they never show. No one ever answers the phone at the local location. I’ve spent $75 for guaranteed deliver and they made up an “attempt to deliver” narrative to keep from refunding my money. I live in an apartment complex and was told they could not access my building. The leasing office was open the entire time and no nite was left!

  • Iris Toon

FYI: Before you go out of your way to drive here. 24 hours does not mean there will be an actual person here. There are PO Boxes here and 24 hours is only for the self service kioskand for people to access their boxes, not the actual desk services, I was needing the change of address form which they were out of along with the applying for passport, passport renewal, name change, Etc,. Out of all of "forms" in the same box.

  • Bree Lowery

Incredibly poor service during each and every interaction I've had here. No one knows (or cares) to help solve problems or answer questions. Currently they're in a trailer out back because the building burned partially (or at least that's what I've been told). Chose USPS for my business services, intentionally to support this program, but regret it completely. What a headache.

  • M G

I'm guessing the phone is either located in the janitor's closet or is completely unplugged. Unacceptable service; but what else would you expect from a government establishment? Now they are deciding to be extremely lazy and not deliver my packages by marking it as "unable to access location". It's not my fault that you're running late. You have one job and you fail at it.

  • Shelby Smith

Huge problems with this Post Office delivery route people. Forget any attempt to deliver packages. The do a drive by and if they don't see someone standing outside waiting to be handed the mail they return it. Almost impossible to reach anyone about delivery issues. Only number listed is 800#! Over an hour wait for "carrier" issues. Easier just to drive over!

  • Kenneth Thomas

This area is becoming better, but it was once marginal. Service at this location is really still very poor, with little incentive evident among Many of those behind the counter, with exceptions. The nearby Office Depot handles most transactions, else, I would recommend going to the location down Charlotte, where you will be treated like a human being.

  • Kristie M Holmes

This branch is horrible, if I could give it zero stars I would. They are lazy and disrespectful. They service my area and they will not deliver packages. The manager is never in when I go in and ask for her and when I email in to the main USPS, I'm told I have to contact that branch. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS FOR YOUR OWN SANITY

  • Diana Salmeron

Hours are posted incorrectly. They actually closed at 5. I called USPS to let them know to update their hours on Google and they did nothing about it . Their opening hours are also wrong. I think they actually open at 8:30. I remember being there at 8 am once and it was closed. Giving it 2 stars because the employee is nice.

  • A Perfect Circle

Heaven forbid you forget to tape the new label on your package that isn't priority mail. "Unless your package is priority mail, you're going to have to buy some tape,". So money hungry that they won't give a customer TAPE for a LABEL that is literally 2x4 INCHES. Seriously? Even FedEx isn't that petty.

  • Christy Cox

Amazing service! My family of 6 went in for passports. My husband had our appointment wrong, so we showed up the day after our appointment. Kim was amazing! She helped us get all six passports. We enjoyed chatting with the other women who were working there. I definitely recommend this post office!

  • Michael Lotfi

I guess they just make up their own hours and work whenever they decide to work nowadays. Posted hours are completely irrelevant. They unlock the main service area whenever they feel like it- with no apologies or concern for their customers. Yes, let's allow government to run healthcare as well.

  • Kristina

The wait was unnecessarily long and when I asked the cashier to help tape my package, she immediately said no because I have to pay for tape...I already knew that. The immediate hostility was off-putting since if she just says to pay first before having her help me, that would make more sense.

  • Lee Trembley

Hours online say 530 on the door say 500. Fix your hours online you government drains on society. I’d use UPS or FedEx if I wasn’t using a return label provided by a third party. The employee barking “we’re closed” as I walked in at 505 was unappreciated. But, hey, that’s the gubmint!

  • Jasmine Lewis

Unprofessional, won’t allow you access to your post office box even with the proper identification card anymore if key is missing. Also changed business hours because homeless people. Making it inconvenient for others because they don’t want the homeless sitting around at night

  • Mitch Hodge

Horrible service, the clerk off the cuff told me that my package marked "fragile" was just going to get banged around. After several rounds of measuring the package, I simply told him that I wouldn't trust this location to ship anything of mine. Very apathetic attitude.

  • Winnie Is Plenty

I'm so sick of the mail couriers that work here losing my packages I don't know what to do I always have to go down and pick up a package they said they delivered but they didn't it's always at the post office then it takes them a hour to find it I hate this post office

  • M R

Great service by the only lady at the counter Today she explained everything clearly about the box and gave me all the necessary forms I had to chose a different store for my travel convenience I would recommend this store to any customer wanting great service

  • Tracie Dupin

Dealt with an employee over the phone regarding an overnighted envelope that still hadn't been delivered a week later. He was rude and not the least bit helpful. Why spend money through the USPS and not get it delivered when you have a FEDEX or UPS option?

  • Bre Maddox

I love this post office simply because of the staff. They are always friendly, helpful, and they don't rush you out. I gave it 4 stars because of the constant homeless beggars outside that literally come up to your car whether you are still in it or not.

  • Fidel Soto-Gonzalez

Got there and even when I have to wait a long line, the staff there solved all my questions in a very diligent and swift manner. Be aware that many cashing of money orders are better to do in the afternoon sincebthey depend on the cash flow of that day.

  • Jennifer Sanchez

This post office is conveniently located, has plenty of parking, and the staff is always friendly. Does have the occasional rush, but the staff handle it all very well. This location is also bigger than most, and offers more merchandise than most too.

  • BrandyAnn Owen

None of the details are correct. Extremely irritating whenever people get time off of work to try to come up here and can’t pick up a package because they’re “closed” though the website and the phone recording both state 5:30 pm as the closing time.

  • Dallas Fanchier

worst experience at the post office I've ever had. The lady at the counter was most certainly under the influence of drugs. Her eyes were dilated and she was moving in slow motion the whole time. To no surprise they were unable to find my package.

  • Peter Nikolaou

Just like everyone else says. Doesnt matter how many times you call, they NEVER pick up. Have no clue how anyone is giving them 5 stars. They said they delivered a package I still havnt received. Apparently this is a common theme with them.

  • Carrie Daughtrey

Tried to call to make an appointment to get a passport. I was put on hold for 25 minutes but no one ever picked up the phone. When I called back, they just kept hanging up on me. Unbelievable how hard it is to get a passport these days.

  • Adam Miller

Call 6 times with no answer trying to track a package that was not delivered because the "business was closed" for a delivery to my apartment building... USPS won't be around much longer I would be willing to bet a lot on that.

  • Paul J

I always have, and always will love USPS. Hope they never fade away. They always have the coolest stamps. Wish people would actually write more letters to friends & family. It's a refreshing escape from cell phones & computers

  • nathaniel perkins

Absolutely pathetic. I can get a package from memphis which is 5 hours away faster than from nashville a whole 20 minutes away. Checking in and checking out a package 12 times before it actually leaves will do that i guess

  • Legacy Eevee

Packages get returned without any delivery attempted notices (I live in a apartment with a package drop off area) and the mail smells like smoke cause the bald van driver gets out of the truck already smoking.

  • Rosa Angelica Manzo

Have been here before and had good service. 4 stars because online website says it closes at 5:30, but doors show it closes at 5:00 pm. Wish I'd have gotten a picture, but call ahead to confirm hours.

  • Kelsey Ples

Received a “sorry I missed you” form, when I was here all day. They didn’t even ring the doorbell. Now I have to go to the post office to pick up a package that I could have already had.

  • Clay Rochelle

Call 20 times in a day and nobody will answer the phone. My mail hasnt been picked up or delivered in a week now! I found some of my mail in the mailboxes at the apartments next door!

  • Alyssa Janco

Have been trying to reach them on the phone for two days. They never answer their phone, and for some reason their answering machine wouldn't even put me on hold. Terrible service.

  • Audra Anderson

I wish I had looked at the reviews before making the drive - they close at 5, not 5:30. Super disappointing. Please update your hours on Google so people can plan appropriately.

  • Chieko Y

I was scared to visit this place after reading all the reviews! But the person working there today was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was a great visit.

  • Bahr

Went here for the first time to mail several packages. The person behind the counter was very efficient, courteous, and very competent. Very positive experience.

  • Stacia Thomas

CHANGE your Hours of Operation!! You close whenever you feel like it!! You don't close at 5:30pm. Stop lying to your customers. This is so unprofessional.

  • Corey Kiyabu

They were closed for renovation. Would have been nice to have the post I'm leaving here for others so I wouldn't have walked down here...

  • Karla Pearlstein

Awful customer service!! You can never train people to have good attitude. This woman should be fired. Never going back to this location.

  • Stacie Kiyabu

They have a trailer behind the building that is open for retail and PO boxes. Entrance is on State Street. It is wheelchair accessible.

  • Omid Pa

Lazy Carriers, They do not deliver packages properly, lack of Training, never pick up the phone. They all need to be fired..

  • Heather Anderson

There are only ever two employees working and one is reserved for passports so you can guess what that does for the line.

  • Z Durand

The person I needed to see was on her lunch break BEFORE 10:30 am. This is why people hate visiting government offices.

  • Lori S

Closes at 5. Don’t bother racing across town to get there at 5:18, only to discover the doors locked and blinds drawn.

  • Michael Eckles

The worst usps in the city lost my package. Put in claim after claim and still n nobody knows what’s going on.

  • Erica Sypnieski

Have been trying to retrieve a package they lost for a month now. No calls, no replys getting very upset.

  • MASO

Friendly service, but slow AF -- and if you have a lot of time to waste...this is he place for you.

  • Page Graham

Easy access. A little hard to see, until you are right next to it. Has package drop box inside.

  • Brandie Edmonds

VERY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL!! Mail is never on time. Dread going to the front desk for anything

  • Krista

Hours aren’t accurate, definitely not open at 8 like posted on Google and on the usps site

  • Brad DeVore

Best post office experience I have ever had. Ask for lawrence. He took care of everything.

  • Karen Johnson

I tried calling this office 10 consecutive times and no one ever answered the telephone.

Nice big post office. Usually the line is not long, and very fast.

  • Eastfirain L

Worst service in the world! Never go to this location again!!
