The store is 3 floors and the variety and selection of items are good . My personal experience, has garnished the store zero stars due to the employees working at the store . Last week I visited Urban Outfitters at 628 Broadway , I was purchasing a few items , I also came across a North face jacket that was hanging on a secure rack attached with a secure alarm wire . I took the items I was purchasing to the register and informed an employee with long black hair and eyeglasses , that I would like to try the jacket on . She said she will not take the jacket of the rack for me to try it . She said the only was she will take it off is if I buy it . Trying to make it - make sense , I explained I can buy it , in which case she will still have to take it off the rack , however at that if I do not like I will return it and She still has to reattach it . I understood her prerogative was that she did not want to be bothered with assisting a paying and loyal customer . I asked for a manager in which case she told me she is the manager . I asked for a different employee to help me , who said they are reluctant to take them off for people to try because the jacket is $320 , and they had people run out of the store with them . I physically gave her my phone and asked if she wants my ID to hold onto if she would let me try the jacket . The response was the same . They don’t want to do their job , provide customer service , and leave a bad taste in their customers mouth . I wonder how many people go through something similar and do not speak up about it . I wonder how much money the business is losing by having such employees . If you don’t like your job , quit , there are plenty of people looking for work . Remember , No customer of a retail establishment is looking for negative vibes , I want to spend my money and be welcomed doing so .
Tuesday Oct 4th The hour of 3pm Just want to take a moment to acknowledge what feels like sarcastic hospitality from I guess your security guard ambassador named Emauel - a brother and the sister security Guard he works with at the front of the store. For some reason on a rainy overcast windy day Im interpreting his greeting to me with some form of sarcasm.Thats what it feels like. And when I arrived in this store like the other guests around me. I did not resond. He made a point of coming over to me and saying I was just say hello. How are you doing? Funny because he never walked up on anyone else and made a similar inquiry in the same way... At All. Yo I felt uncomfortable. My response how are you doing? His response to me oh Im sorry. Between the chit chat exchange they the security guards have for each other. I guess thats fine. So when Im leaving for some reson he intentionally sends a shout out Goodbye miss to me and no other guests That definitely feels WACK. Was he like checking me??? I DEFINITELY DONT LIKE THE ISOLATED FEELING. Maybe you can share my feeling of being uncomfortable with Emanuel. Dont know maybe he was trying to be funny about making me uncomfortable as a guest. I definitely did not like it. And I wanted the manager to know. Funny thing. It took like 10 minutes for me to write my review in the front of the store and at the moment hes on his cell phone. Maybe thats what stopping him from saying goodbye in an isolated way to other guests in the same way he did in isolation to me. PS I took it personally as a Black woman who wore a headscarf inside your store. I think Emanuel version of customer service Sucks!
I got attitude from the manager here. I purchased items that were marked down from this same store. A little over 2 weeks later, I visited back and found the same clothes I bought were reduced even further. The following day I came back to ask if they can price match it (my reason being had I waited 2-3 weeks, I would have paid less for it). I politely asked the sales associate at the counter and her manager was within earshot so she assisted as well. The manager said they can't price match it because their policy is only to price match within 14 days. I said fine, I'll just return these and then buy them back from the rack at your new price later. The manager then straight up tells her employee in front of me "Fine we'll do it now, just price match it, it's not worth it." It's not worth what lady? The trouble? I'm not trying to be difficult here, I was willing to abide by your policies and just work around it myself. Made me feel very unwelcome and that they were doing me a big favor. She said as if I wasn't going to be able to get it for the same price had I returned the items, and just check back out once they got put back on the rack at their new price. I get it, you guys get rough days and have seen your fair share of difficult customers. But if you treat me as if I'm difficult when I'm going out of my way to avoid inconveniencing you, it makes me feel like my efforts not to be troublesome have gone to waste. Word of advice to your managers, try to keep your cool and choice of words can convey a totally different meaning (intended or not).
Just had the worst experience of my life in this Urban Outfitters. I was waiting for the free phone charging station for 20 minutes. Assuming all the charging stations were taken by customers I happily waited for a station to open. Unfortunate for me an associate (jasmine) walks up and opens a locker and grabs her phone. So I mumble "you have to be kidding me" she then feels it necessary to turn around and say "I'm sorry is there a problem". I return with "yes I just waited 20 minutes for a charging locker to find an associate was taking one of them" she then told me "it is for associates and customers". There was more said between us and she wouldn't give me her name which screams she knows she is wrong. I and anyone in their right mind know she was lying to my face. Why wouldn't she be charging her phone in the break room or even more so why does she need to charge it at work. I then contacted the store manager Corey who came up and offered me a sparkling water and said he would take her off the floor while I shopped. I ended up leaving as there are other urban outfitters I have shopped at where that was never an issue. Over all Jasmine needs a lot of more training and has a long road ahead of her is she's looking for a successful career in customer service. As for Corey the store manager he handled the situation like a professional and made the situation go from horrible to decent.
I just started to shopping at urbanoutfitters and already disappointed. Such a mess, such a miscommunication between the store workers in NYC store locations. Went to pick up my order from their store in Soho and saw Fila Disruptor shoes on sale for $19.99. Unfortunately this store didn’t carry my size and I asked them to contact to the store nearby which I was told have them. Finally they say I can go to pick up my shoes in a correct size at the location on 5th ave. And now what? I went all the way up to this midtown location right before they closing. And they are telling me that nobody called them and they do not have these shoes. I’m very disappointed. I asked the cashier girl at the Soho location to double check the availability and the price. I just wasted my time going back and forth. I will be waiting if the store management will contact me since I left my email and my phone number at the 5th ave location. This was such a poor experience UPD: I was contacted through their customer service representative. They apologized and resolved this issue. So I switch from 1 star to 3. But their sales associates inside of the stores should be improved and trained for sure to avoid this kind of miscommunication in a future.
Although I will say that this location has a good selection of clothing, my experience here was disappointing. I went with the intention of shopping, and as I was browsing through their products I noticed that I was being watched and followed around the store by a grown man. Every floor/section I would go to, he would be there as well. And it was not from a distance either, he was actually following directly behind me. At the time I thought it was a random creepy guy and I ended up just quickly leaving and not getting anything. A couple weeks later though I ended up going back to the store to shop for my birthday, and as I was leaving I noticed the same guy, but this time he was at the front greeting guests. At this point I realized that the guy following me was actually the security guard.. From that day I decided to never go back to this store again. That experience made me extremely uncomfortable, and discouraged me from buying anything. Furthermore, I feel like I was being profiled because of the way that I look. I am extremely disappointed.
Rudest man downstairs at the online pick up order station. Every time I come here he's so i credibly rude to everyone! He obviously hates his job and life. Then don't work with the public! Go be miserable by yourself. Don't bring everyone else down around you. Last time I went there he just ignored me at the counter continuing his convo w/ friend behind counter. Reluctantly he went back to work, said goodbye to his friend with a sendoff hug and rolled his eyes then asked for my phone so if you could see my order number in my app He was so irritated I was there to pick up some thing and he had to work again. Just the attitude alone was so appalling. After he retrieved my order he asked for my phone a second time and for me to pull up the email to further inconvenience me. Then he handed me my order without saying a word as I walked away. This is actually the second or third time I picked up some thing and he's been so incredibly rude to
This location has improved a lot structurally and it's not as messy as it used to be... but it's still my least favorite location in the area. Staff always seems MIA and always seem to be having bad days and bothered when you ask for help.. I swear i feel that sometimes people forget that the customers are what pay their wages.. other locations the staff at least pretend to be pleasant... this location is also odd because although its 3 floors, their inventory is meh, whatevs. This location does have the best mens selection though. Their home section is blah and their womens selection is blah too. Unless you're a guy or looking for mens clothing, I'd go to the 14th street location on 6th ave
Now, now this UO takes the cake for the worst Urban Outfitters,? tied along with the UO 5th Ave (the UO 34th Street coming in a close second) for thee worst store with thee worst employees. I get it, it’s retail, you’re minimum wage what’s all the fuss about poor service right? Wrong, you debased employees over at UO fail to realize that without customers there is no business. UO stock market shares has consistently been plummeting, so has the merchandise and what do you know so has the service. Could it be that UO is jumping the shark soon as did Lord & Taylor and Barney’s New York before them? only time will tell.
The store in general is very organized, much like how you would expect an Urban Outfitters store to be. The environment was relaxed, the employees never nag or bother you but are always milling around, available to help when asked, and there was a seating area / bench (if I remember correctly). After walking around Times Square for a few hours, having somewhere to sit is very much appreciated. Like most stores, the sale section was utter chaos, but otherwise everywhere else is very by the book. I purchased a lovely sweater without having to wait in line, and the cashier was very friendly.
Actually quite disappointed with my experience here today. I was shopping with a friend and we began to notice how the quality of the clothes has really gone down. We saw multiple pieces with seams that were ripped and holes. Before buying something BEWARE!!! I almost spent money on something that is damaged! Walked out of the store not purchasing anything because I was so upset. I used to love this store because it’s so big and has such a wide variety of clothes; however, I’m scared to purchase from them now! Please bring urban outfitters back to what it used to be!
My favorite Urban location! Though it would seem as if their stock would be low (as they are dead smack downtown, with so many tourists, and New Yorkers alike passing by), their shelves are quite stocked! The cashiers are hella funny as they really want to get to know you. The fitting room attendants are also really friendly! They accommodate your needs well! They also serve up some cool dance moves. And, you will never walk out empty-handed (to my experience at least)! Their sales are on point, and trends, ready to be set (by you of course!)
This is one of the better Urban Outfitters, both for selection and size. They seem to specialize in women's clothes, with a smaller collection of men's, and small home furnishing and giftware sections on the side. The stock is unexceptional -- your usual inexpensive, foreign-made stuff -- and seems to be following the trend rather than setting it. (I'm being generous and ignoring the owner's big-money donations to truly horrifying politicians, but YMMV.)
Have always shopped at this place but never left a review till today. I have always received good customer service at this place but today one of the young male workers went out of his way to find me a bag that I was looking for. By chance, it was the type of bag I was looking for that I couldn’t find anywhere else in Soho. Appreciated his help but didn’t even get to thank him because he went back to working on something quickly!
The cashier said she does not know how to do return and pointed to another cashier who walked away after serving the customer. Why keep a cashier if she does not know how to do return. I waited for about 15 minutes until the 3rd cashier knows what to do. I have a picture of her I can post, I just don’t want to embarrass her!!! She does not look like she wants to work there. I’m posting the comment right after an awful experience
They are pretty organized, but never have anything nice. Theyve had the same clothes here for like a year , never anything new. And the basement always smells like dead rats now, if they get coffee cans and poke wholes in the lid and spread them out itll make the smell go away because the refresheners they are using right now does not work . Also theres never any employees around to help .
staff was horrible ! Lady In there was profiling me and my family ... very rude to all the people in there, very unprofessional!!! Should not be in customer service at all . Considering we just spent money in there and she was acting like we were trash off the street .. we will never come back here when we visit New York next time . I would not recommend to any of my high client friends .
This Broadway location is your standard Urban Outfitters. I do appreciate it as you have to weed out the junky stores on Broadway with the good. For classics you have Banana and Club Monaco. When you wanna funk it up, there's Uniqlo, H&M, and Urban! Hold on to your youth and buy some key pieces here. There is a lot to choose from- makeup, housewares, clothing, trinkets, and gifts.
Absolutely love this location. I frequent urban outfitters when i have time to chill or when i have a little bit of time left to before a meeting. Always have loved the curated clothing and the trend and vibe of the stores. I especially love the beauty section. I go to check out indie brands that need more recognition. Overall love the brands. This location is a must go!
This is my favorite spot to hit up for leggings. They have really unique shoes available from time to time and I really like their dress selection. They have an excellent sale selection - I recommend bypassing the rest of the store as if you had blinders on and starting there. You can always work your way back out to the regular priced stuff. This usually works for me.
This urban outfitters is a pretty good place to go shop for clothes. Although it can be kind of pricey the service and people are nice and very helpful. The clothes are really organized in an accessible way and it has a really nice homey decor to boost your shopping experience. And if you look carefully you may find a few good priced gems hidden in everything else.
I came here with my daughter and she loves the place but I just dont know why. The clothes on the lower level are not that impressive and the rest of the stuff seem like novelties. I had to talk my daughter out of buying a vynil record player because she thought it would be cool until i filled her in on all the limitations and the exuberant cost for content.
Definitely the best location in the city for this store. It's spacious and so nicely organized. It gets overrun with tourists but it's totally worth going out of your way to come here. The men's department in particular is extremely well managed. Impeccably organized and the sales people are all motivated and knowledgable. Someone is doing something right.
This store is so fun!! The staff is goofy and willing to help out with anything. There are 3 floors with plenty to look at. The housewares are humorous and fun to look at. The clothes are good, slightly over-priced and decent quality. This store appeals to a wide audience and you do not have to be carrying a million dollars to feel welcome here.
My girlfriend loves this place. My girlfriends buys all her clothes from urban. It's somewhat pricey for what you are buying but the clothes are unique and cool. We mainly buy from the online store though because they only offer the AfterPay option for online shopping. Would give 5 stars if they offered it as a in store payment option.
I love the place, specifically the shop at Broadway Manhattan but, I won’t recommend visiting there this days as the store is empty of Merchandise, of course because of the pandemic and shipping problems around the world but with all The understanding, it is not fun and looks really sad …. Sorry but not recommended by me on COVID days
I absolutely love this store. I love all the choices of clothes that they have and most of all they always have my size! What i dont really like is that this urban outfitters is generally filled with people and on black friday the lines were enormous and it was impossible to move. In addition the lower level is sometimes very warm.
The line was actually short this time and there were 3-4 people ringing up. Unlike yesterday when i went to pick up my online order and there was 50 plus people online with one person ringing. Meanwhile sales associates and managerd were folding clothes. I actually got serviced this time so kudos to urban outfitters.
On one of my shopping trips, I decided to check out this location. Although I didn't purchase anything, I'll definitely be checking them out for some shirts and sweaters in the future. What I was trying to figure out was if the Graffiti was a welcomed thing on the lower level. …
The staff at this store was friendly, although they did seem understaffed. There was quite a bit of product misplaced and strewn about. UO clothing is a little pricy, but is still mostly made well. They had a pretty fair assortment of styles. Worth a stop if you're close-by.
They send me wrong size on most of my orders, after couple return, they suspended my account. Now I can’t purchase online. I went local store, but I couldn’t find what I want, and I couldn’t buy online as well, custom service didn’t solve my problem at all. That’s wonderful.
They have super sensitive door scanners. If you have anything that has a barcode, no matter where it's from, it will set off the alarm. One time my library book in my bag set off the alarm and I was stopped and searched. The prices are also very pricy. Would not recommend.
Found it very strange that employees were stopping people of color at the exit and checking their bags, but they let me and my white partner walk out uninterrupted. Management, please address this overt racism that is the first thing customers see when they walk inside.
What's a matter, UO can't afford employees? Shouldn't have to walk all up 2 flights just to find a sales associate. Also, really? In 2021 you still need to check the back for inventory. Maybe I should fax my request in or call the store from my car phone... Nice.
Urban Outfitters has stepped their retail game in the past three years. This store is just like any one of their other locations. Only a couple of people acknowledged my presence. The other employees just silently mill about hoping you don't ask any questions.
It's the millenial place to shop with a vintage end. Yhier hime section is to die for. Though it is a little mid range of expensive they do boast of clothes, accesories and skin care you wouldnt find as easy anywhere else. UO is a pure white girl vibe. Lol.
Place was large and had a lot to offer. But it was kind of messy and I didn't see a single person who worked there. The "home" section was barely even there, it was mostly just more clothes. If you're in the area it's worth it for clothes.
This store is so much more organized than other urban outfitters I've ever been to you. I liked all the cool decor and the lighting and displays. The sales section was huge and super easy to find what I wanted. Absolutely love the decor,
I’ve been shopping at urban for around 10 years now, and as a native New Yorker who works in the area, was pleasantly surprised to see one had opened up on broadway. It’s really too bad that the staff is breathtakingly rude and unhelpful.
I had an allergic reaction all over my face and neck from the sprays they have in there that say all natural. I find it odd how I'm only allergic to certain harsh chems and their "natural" products made me had that exact reaction.
The store has its usual attire but they need to re-up on the nail polish.. this store has had the same colors for 3 years+. Blues, pinks, neon green and sparkles. You wont find any other colors and urban polishes are my favorite!
Not good prices, bad selection from a chains of stores that seems to be stuck in 2009 much fake retro vintage selection. Again huge prices for things that you can find every where. Same dated furniture and bad service.
Very helpful store manager and sales cashier. She helped me locate iterns that i was looking for at other stores through their online inventory check. Their prices for polaroid items, when on sale, are good as well.
My daughter loved it and she found trendy brands they’re now carrying. Merchandise was not organized and it was a mess around, cashiers are not passionate and they need management, direction and attention to detail
Enourmous location with two floors and a lot of variety. I especially love the large beauty/cosmetic section in the front of the store. There is also a small eyewear booth that will fit you for glasses on site.
Annoying store. Fake vintage nonsense. Poor quality. Loud muzak. Obnoxious customers. I only came in here because I was spending time with some out of towners. Wish I could get that hour of my life back! Avoid!
This particular location has a good selection of home items and shoes compared to other Urban locations in the city. Some of the clothing is overpriced, but this location has a pretty good sale section.
Cool, funky, and unique fashion store with products found nowhere else, under one roof! Visit the clearance rack for super savings on marked down items! They always have a great sale going on!
Horrible place. Just wanted to know if they had something in stock and made me wait 15 mins and still no answer. Looks like hiring kids and having no manager in store isn’t helping.
Its a pretty cool store I have had shopped at other urban outfitters but thus one is pretty cool and unique my favorite part is the dressing rooms I highly recommend going in there
Busy on the weekend but like every shop on Broadway. Staff are helpful, stylish and nice. The selection of clothes at Urban Outfitters are as always awesome! Wanna buy everything!
One of the best shopping experience I had in NYC the store is a cool place in its own right, and taking in to account the helpful and friendly staff this becomes a must in my mind
This is the only Urban Outfitters I've seen so far that has an actual sale section in the store. It's got a nice design like most of their stores. Overall great place to shop at.
My teen loves the place. Sometimes I find some thing for me. Found a 2 berets. One wool one crotchet, beautiful on sale. Found a summer straw crotchet style hat too. …
The store is spacious, which is great because of the heavy foot traffic, and clean. Items are clearly marked and they have a good selection of current fashion trend items.
Location, variety of selections were exactly what I needed. Service was great too. People greet you at the door. Helped me with my stroller too as the baby slept.
Rude staff. The tattoo guy who walks around kicking tired parents off the seats, or the rude lady who mad dogs customers at the self checkout line. Stay away!
Nice selection of clothing, however the store is expensive. They have developed a monthly payment plan, lol to assist u with paying for their trendy clothes.
It used to have a great sale rack downstairs, got myself many cool pieces for a few bucks:) But overall it's still a nice hip place to get a thing or two.
One of my daughter's fav stores! Walking in on the day there was an extra 40% off on the sale was def a bonus Wish they would do this in Europe... …
SoHo urban outfitters is nice. They have a good selection that's typical of the brand. I would recommend it to others even if it isn't really my taste.
Clothes hanging nicely. ..everything are were they supposed to be..clean. The only thing u can't find any employees on the floor if u have a question
I bought my favorite shirt here, the service is great, the rooms are beautiful, of course it's on the more expensive side but it's a great experience
Friendly staff: guy on the Men’s floor helped me find a winter hat (they had extras in the back). Good selection, open space, good music inside.
Nice selection with friendly and helpful staffs. The merchandise appears to be meatly place and the store is huge with upper and lower floor.
Great stores , three floors of quality and stylish stuff. Fresh to death for a ny native and way more if your rocking it outside of the boros
lots of discounts when buying offseason things. in a busy part of soho so it can get crowded. but open late, until 9pm with much less people.
As far as Urbans go, this one's a-ok. Got the girlfriend a bunch of birthday stuff here. It's a decent place. My preferred one in the city.
The clothes are good quality, but the prices are super expensive. Be prepared to break the bank if you want to get a few things from here.
Great selection of fashion forward and trend products. Urban always does a great job of bringing a boutique feel to a bigger format store.
Spacious, fun and varied store with all kinds of products from t-shirts and caps to mini-bopit and funny lamps. Polite and helpful staff.
Really cool store, right now they're having concerts with a bunch of artists in the store on select dates, it's a fun experience.
Cool store, very hip. A big variety of products. Employees were helpful and nice. Great selection of beauty products as well.
They had a great range of styles from a wide selection of brands. The staff were happy to help and really chill. Enjoyed it
It was fun. My friend got some cute hoodie ans shirts. It was too hot Inside store to shopping. I enjoyed sales section ☺️
Terrible store! Teenagers run this place and do not allow older people to use the restroom which is discriminating!
Great location and items all the time. I like their friendly service and kind staff. Hip urban and trendy items
I did a lot of Christmas shopping at this location. I couldn't be happier with price and merchandise selection.
Staff always friendly and there is always a selection of items I can fin that fit my taste, full price or sale.
Been here multiple times, very neat and kept nice. Super large store and definitely will keep you occupied
Unique pieces, but not many of the clothes I prefer. Great place to buy hoodies and other nick-nacks.
Great store, just wish it was more organized and clothes not laying around everywhere out of place.
Not the greatest location in terms of inventory. The store was very clean and organized, though!
Love the store. It’s as chaotic as any other store. But the manager was VERY helpful.
I like their style, but the quality and customer service has been going down hill.
The service was kind and helpful, wish they had more shoe sizes for men in stock.
i love this store, i have a few items from here. It's a little overpriced tho
lots of dressing rooms, self checkout, three floors, and loss of clothes ✨
I am a happy shopper found what I was looking for. Nice staff.
Bought a light bulb for $5 that was selling for $40 at MoMA.
Changed a lot since last year not liking the new collection
Always checkout for sales at the far end of the store!
Such a big store. Definitely one of my favorites.
Huge place. Got my order pickup quickly
Customer service is laughable.
Nice clothing. Helpful staff.
