  • "My Family and I decide to come eat here after the Rangers game! I don’t know where to start, so first off the service wasn’t the best! We had a young lad that did a decent job but everyone else not so much! At first we don’t know who was our waiter, it’s like they just ignored us and attend to other tables that seem to be their priority, while we were one the first tables to walk in! My mother was starting to loose her patience and we were bout to walk out, until we ask another waiter to get us more chips and salsa! Although like I said the young lad did his job, so props to him! Next comes the food! To be honest the food was alright, no so much flavors but food is food! In my opinion they should improve on the cooking and at least have passion in doing the job! The steak and shrimp I order was bland like no seasoning added! Although the rice was up to my standards! Finally, I’m not too sure if my family will ever come back to Villa Grande! If we do, we hope they have at least a good amount of staff and have a better experience than today! We been to other Mexican restaurants that shows a lot of fun, passion and at least a good amount of staff! Also the food is always on point! To end this review, to my fellow family’s that are reading this review, the choice is yours! Go to Villa Grande and have you time/patience wasted or eat anywhere else! My family and I aren’t certain if we ever return here, but by the looks of it probably not!

So let me start out as I am a local and have had this place many times before. It does seam as they've had a shift in employees. Currently everyone there is absolutely amazing!!! I went to the restaurant to order food to go and didn't wait more the 10 mins for both plates. The bartender was amazing... Younger guy.... I know his name but choose not to butcher it. Sorry y'all. I hung around and my one shot I took was way bigger then expected. The server Beto is great always checking to make sure everything was right and as promised. Got home to find everything was hot and fresh. I have read some of the reviews and some are from closing time this place is just like any other place. It's closing time and their all ready to go home. If you don't want the end of shift service then don't go 10 mins before they close. I will definitely be back again and all I can really say is we're all struggling and everyone is short staffed please be patient with folks... Goes alot farther then being rude. Give it a try and make your own opinions for sure will be back

This was our second time here. The first-time service was not the best, so we thought it may be a one-time incident and decided to give it another try. Wow!! The service was incredibly poor. The waiter never waited but served the food, delivered the check, and grabbed the check before even we left the table. He may have refilled the water, and i did tip him for that. He served with the attitude of discontent and with a lack of manners. Other waiters were waiting on us. The food was not bad but bit salty. Won't recommend this place if you are trying to control your blood pressure. Also, I won't recommend this place if you have high expectations about service. Only go with extremely low expectations, and then you may not be disappointed. I read the reviews after coming here, and some of them were on point. Looks like the owner has 6 other locations and is not worried about the service, so sadly, we will not be returning, but we are in DFW, and there are 1000 other options.

Great place for a quiet evening that's not a chain restaurant. Food is excellent. Had a chimichanga with fajita beef and queso blanco sauce and it was awesome. Wife had chicken fajitas and they were great! Chicken is not dry and very juicy. Great prices on meals as well. Would recommend.

There are many choices for Texmex in the DFW area and most are similar in quality. Today was our second visit for a weekend lunch. If you want ubiquitous menu, they have all those items. But that is not what we tried. We happened to have the same wonderful server both visits. Alejandro's recommendations were fantastic both times. The relleno grande was grande for sure and topped with tenderloin tips and surprisingly spicy. I tried the pollo camarones plate today and loved it. Alejandro remembered my husband loves really hot salsa and brought it without us asking. It's been at least 6 weeks since our first visit, yet he remembered. My husband had the Birria tacos and their herradura marg. That was grande too. I'm picking up the grande theme. Now I'm super full and sleepy. We will go again and hopefully have Alejandro again as our server. He's excellente !

The resturaunt itself was visually stimulating. Very clean and cool decor. The hostess was very friendly but my server seemed slightly annoyed to be taking care of me. He just came to my table and looked at me - he didn’t speak. I spoke and gave him my order - I had to ask him again for my water because he never brought my drink. He made delicious table side guacamole and I asked for the lunch vegetarian burritos. They really weren’t burritos as much as they were some frozen veggies wrapped in a tortilla and covered in cheese. There was nothing else in the burrito besides some roasted veggies. The fresh salsa was yummy but I wouldn’t go back.

For some reason we just never felt welcomed in this restaurant. Our food was very good, but the service was questionable. The attentiveness of our waitress was not there, at least not for us. Maybe you can try harder making everyone feel welcomed. Money is green. In spite of not so good service, we still tipped 20%. It’s one thing to write scriptures on the menu, and another thing for someone to feel them when visiting your restaurant. This was not our first time eating at Villa Grande. We thought we would try it again, only to feel the same way. Praying you will see the light that we are all created equal in God’s eyes. Peace be with you and your staff.

I visited with some coworkers because of the proximity to where we were working that day. They were quite packed for lunch! They were fast to bring me salsa and to get my drink (which was quickly refilled). I ordered carne asada tacos and I have not had better anywhere. The meat was exceptionally seasoned and cooked to perfection. Rice, charro beans and salsa were standard but tasty. Co-workers loved the garlic tilapia and enchiladas as well. The wait staff were nice, quick, and unobtrusive. If you're in the area for lunch and in the mood for good Tex Mex I highly recommend trying Villa Grande out.

For my food travelers well food here is mediocre at best. I came back for their poblano burrito because it used to be made with this amazing flakey crust. Now it's in your normal regular flour tortilla in which you can get almost any where. The burrito is not filled enough for the price, and you get more folds of tortilla than you do any flavor. It was super soggy too with the green sauce thats thrown on top. The tacos were okay and the rice wasn't great. This place definitely lost its touch. We won't be coming back here for over priced mediocre food. Try something else if you're looking for real Mexican food.

Only giving this a 3 because ive had better fajitas but the ones here werent bad at all or a knock on the restaurant. To put in perspective, it was my first time going. I got the fajita plate and when I return again soon; Ill get the exact same thing. Service was fast and courteous. Very attentive. Finally, I loved what I call "Mexican handed" drinks. They serve delicious drinks with just enough heavy hands to give you a good kick. Slightly more alcohol than would be normal for any other restaurant. However, its not overpowering. I love restaurants who serve like this. Finally, prices were very reasonable I look forward to going again soon!

It was my first time going and it was a first date.. I read the reviews before going. Their were a lot of comments about the brisket so I ordered chicken and brisket fajitas. The wait staff was excellent however it took the food too long, over 30mins to arrive then the chicken was hard, dry and the brisket was dry as if it had been sitting out. I was disappointed my friend had three tacos that were great. I'm going to try them again just to make sure it was a one off or if thats how they roll. At this point try at your own risk.....Will add comments after second visit.

This place used to be amazing. Back when I lived in Centreport, 2017-2019, I ate here all the time, and like I said, it was amazing. Now I'm living back over there, I decided to take my boyfriend there. Sad to say it's just mediocre. I had the brisket nachos and my boyfriend had the chicken fajitas. My nachos had no flavor. It's like they didn't even season the meat with salt or pepper or anything. My boyfriend said his fajitas were just 'alright.' Sad cuz I used to go there at least 2-3 times a month and was planning on doing the same since I was living so close again :(.

**Divine** Great tasting, great quality, great service and great place! I like better restaurants... but it’s hard to find one where the food is as plentiful, and at great quality like this one! You know that looking nice isn’t the same as tasting great. Here it is!! Mario is new there and he took great care of us. We ordered something not on the menu, and the kitchen killed it! Thanks! It’s as if we were transported back in time to our home, eating a delicious meal with the family! Two types of salsa, fresh and tasty, the other was warm and spicy. The chips are good! The entree was custom ordered: “bistec intero encebollado com todo”. Whole steak, grilled onions, all the way! **Divine**

Not impressed at all. First of, walked in to be seated. Workers keep looking at us and totally ignored us til 1 dude finally call someone to sit us down. Food is bland, no flavor at all.. my wife ordered a chicken fajita nachos, food came out about 8 tortilla chips with cubed chicken and melted cheese on top of chips and a guac and sour cream on the side. Haha what a joke!!! We even asked the rude guy, is this the fajita nachos? He replied, yes, why you didn't like it? Wife asked, where is the fajita there? I ordered fajita taco salad, it came with 5 strips of dried steak on top of my salad and a side of nacho cheese. People, service and foods are not good at all.place not recommend

Usually, places like this, I expect typical Tex-Mex food. Their menu is a bit more extensive than that, but still quasi-texmex (hence the 4 out of five, though if I could... I'd give them a 4.5 od 5). All this aside however, the food is, in fact, DELICIOUS. Don't even get me started on their margaritas. I've been to places where $5 Margaritas taste like what you paid for, but here... you get a Margarita that makes you wonder if you paid more. This is a GOOD thing. Very attentive servers, and their prices are not extravagantly ridiculous like you'd expect. Very nice place to eat at, awesome margaritas, service delicious food and reasonable prices.

After frequenting this place for years, it has suddenly gone far south in the quality department. The food came out lukewarm, not fresh tortillas, plate was cold. New management, wait staff inefficient and empty tables at prime time tell the story. Used to be jammed with American folks and now vacant!

Tried this place for the 1st time . I liked the chips and salsa. The birra tacos were good . The avacodao soup was awesome. The service on the other hand not to good . Our waiter was more interested in the party of females next to us . Not once did he ask if we need a refill. We had to ask for our chips while others around us got them as soon as they sat down. Then another waiter comes and gives us water after we paid and got up to leave. Not sure why that was done . Will I go back maybe just for chips and salsa and drinks .

The food was just okay, nothing special when it comes to Mexican food in Fort Worth. The waiter that severed us came by three times total. Once to bring us drinks and take our order, once to bring us or food and once to bring us our check. Spoke to us very minimally, never brought us the drink menu we requested. Left our group alone for almost an hour never coming by to check on us, finally came by to drop off the check without offering to split amongst the group, without saying a word. Disappointing experience.

The Carne Asada Tacos rather you get the 4 street tacos or the 2 regular Tacos are amazing!!! There is a difference in the tortilla and size.. The street tacos come on yellow corn and the 2 regular tacos are made with white corn. I also loved the combination Fajita nachos. I am not a fan some of the appetizers. But overall it’s a pretty good spot one of my favorites for lunch. Oh, the drinks are amazing!! I always get the Sangria Swirl it’s perfect!!!

Second time to this establishment in a month and for the most part it did not disappoint. The only thing that I could say is that when it comes to refills on drinks sometimes they might not bring you one till your meal is delivered. For someone who drinks a lot(tea, water, dr. pepper, etc.) this could potentially be a turn off for some patrons. However, this is the only thing that I see as potentially being a negative. The food and the atmosphere is top notch. If you get a chance, I would suggest you save room for their fried ice cream.

Stopped in for a quick bite and sat at the bar. I was greeted quickly and had my drink order taken. I saw others with chips and salsa but I was never offered any and never had any brought out. I had the taco salad which was decent and the portion size was just enough. If I had the chips and salsa it might have been too much. It took longer than I liked to get someone's attention to pay. The staff was busy but it was difficult to get anyone's attention to help.

Never made it to dinner because hostess made me leave hightop table near bar and go back to the hostess stand only to return me to my original high top table. She was too lazy just to bring me a menu. Nobody was waiting for a table. I guess she wanted to show that she was in charge and make me walk back to the front for no reason. Manager could care less that his hostess is inept. No reason to spend money at a place that inconveniences customers for no reason.

Food is decent. I ordered take out three different times here and twice there were errors/missing food. I gave them one more chance thinking maybe take out was the issue and dined in with a friend. It took forever to get some assistance. Once we got our food, no one ever came back. We had to get our waiter's attention since we wanted to order dessert, but he told us the kitchen had closed. Would have been nice to be asked if we needed anything else or if everything was okay while we ate.

This restaurant is pretty far from me, but for special occasions it's definitely worth it because I've yet to have any bad experiences here. And food is great for the price. Staff is nice, definitely won't bother you too much, which can be annoying at some places that your conversation will constantly get interrupted. I'd wear this place out if it was local!

I absolutely love molcahate bowls and this place should just take them off their menu. If you have ever had one you know how they should be prepared. Large chunks of meat, veggies and a spicy sauce in an earthen bowl. This is the meat I dug out and placed on an appetizer plate to show portion and sauce. The meat was basically lost in a soupy mess

The chips with the chips and salsa was cold when we got them first thing. The brisket in the enchiladas was hard and dried, as if it had been fried. The chicken on the nachos was old and dry. The food was horrible. It seemed that the food was prepared for a drunken person coming off a alcohol beign that would not what he was eating. Awful .

As far as we could tell, the veggies we were served as a side (because their rice is not vegetarian) were from frozen. I knew that our experience was going to be sketchy when the recommended sauce for an enchilada was a nacho cheese type sauce. I thought, hey, let’s see how it is since the server says that’s what he would get. It was really not great. I would rather go eat at the Taco Bell than come back here, which is saying something. Definitely will not be back.

  • Mike Schultz

I absolutely love this place. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, the food is amazing and wow can they make a margarita. The chicken enchiladas are to die for, the first dish I try at any Mexican restaurant, the nachos are great and the fajitas are as well. As I said their margarita is awesome, the house frozen margarita is nice and strong and worth every penny.

AMAZING in EVERY WAY!!!! The restaurant atmosphere is so fun and every staff member is very friendly and really makes you feel like they’re happy you’ve arrived! The food is so fresh and flavorful and cooked to perfection and everything has it’s own taste, rather than everything tasting the same like is some restaurants. The restaurant is always super clean, and they have a nice bar, too! I highly recommend giving them a try!

Food was great. Service (at the bar) was less than desirable. Ordered enchiladas and got quesadillas, ordered dessert to go, and had it served at the table, only to have the mess (ice cream and all) scraped in a to-go box. Not worth the $50. Wished I could say I would come back, but not likely.

My husband and I love Villa Grande!! They have some of the best, fresh salsa we've ever had I usually get their sour cream chicken enchiladas (made with real chicken, not the bagged or canned kind like some restaurants do). Very, very pleasant! Very authentic Mexican menu. Chili Rellenos with brisket, beans & rice, was simply exceptional. I topped it off with "house-made" Mexican Flan - Oh boy! Very large selection of special recipe made dishes. I love it here. If you like tilapia and garlic I recommend pescado al mojo de ajo. Also try the Michelada with a your favorite beer so good !!! I recently visited Villa Grande. The restaurant was pretty full. I had the pleasure of being served by Daniela. I had a preconceived notion that because it was busy I would have to wait. Boy was I wrong! Daniela was prompt, polite and very attentive. I had the nachos, and they were also great! I will definitely visit Villa Grande again, and hopefully I will have Daniela as my server!!

Nice food and service, although our waiter seemed to be in a rush for our table of 10 to leave soon - we ordered some starters and took the menus away, while we would have liked to try one or two mains as well. Went here for a birthday. Service was friendly but hard to find at times. Food was good, but seemed to have been sitting for a bit. Overall, it was a good experience. Will go back.

I'd give this place negative stars if possible... food is nasty and overpriced... Our server was Lounging on the couch with the rest of the staff. So obviously, service was trash also... Save your time and money and never go here...

Really good food and excellent service moderate price, came back at 930 on Saturday they sat us but after 10 minutes we left, the waiter had extensive conversation with the table next to us and refuse to acknowledge our presence so I guess we came in too late or it was because of racial discrimination.

The hot sauce was like tomatoes only. The chips were thick, hard, and no taste. The Enchiladas & rice were good. The service was okay, but not one person was friendly. Our server was borderline rude. I will not be back.

Unfortunately I didn't take pictures. I had steak tacos with Mexican rice and beans. Had a margarita on the rocks. It's a busy place. But I didn't have to wait. I'll go back again.

Nice inside, plenty of room in and out. Our server was a little low energy. But was good and attentive. Chips and salsa were good. Salsa a bit watery and very mild. Chili relleno was humongous and looked great. The 2 enchiladas lunch plate very tasty. Overall a great meal and fast service.

Always good food. If u like spicy food ask for the hot salsa. But be ready it's fire. Also anything u order is amazing. The waiters and waitress are amazing and will make u feel welcomed and not want to leave. Only down side is that they are a Pepsi products

Been there three times in one week. First I had a good impression. Noticed today that the straws some waiters use are completely soaked and dirty. Once the food was served the utensils and the plate the food acme on where also completely dirty. Left without eating. Some waiters should take a bath I recommend. Shame this place has potential.

If you like spicy salsa as for the hot one. The default they start you off with is not made in house and is tomato sauce and water. Food is great!

Decent joint for TexMex. The chips could be a bit better. Salsa is decent. My brisket tacos were quite delicious but could have come with more pico…. Service was good. The joint was packed at lunch on a business day, so bear that in mind.

First time at a mexican restaurant, so didn't know what to expect. As far as service goes, they get a 5 out of 5, they were really attentive to our needs, and took their time to explain the menu to me. The chips and salsa was good, I think I enjoyed it more than I did my main meal. Overall experience was good.

I'm angry that we paid 30 bucks for 2 nacho plates that look like this. Floppy chips disgusting dried cheese. Then they charged us 6 bucks for asking for some queso in a cup. I could've made this in the microwave man.

Jalapeño poppers are a good choice for appetizers, Chile Rellenos are a good main course as well, as close to homemade at a restaurant you can get =) Drinks (top shelf margaritas) are good too, can’t forget about those. I prefer on the rocks, you’ll definitely catch a great buzz with those …

  • Shalmar Davis

I’d give 0 stars if I could!!! The only black woman walks into the establishment and every worker runs to the back except one that just sits on his phone like he didn’t see me… I go to my car to just call in order and what do you know… no one picks up the phone! 0-10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR BLACK PEOPLE!

I love it. Food was delicious and environment was really nice. Staff very friendly and very nice. However always room for improvement. The server was really nice, but never said his name, also did not mentioned anything about happy hours on Margaritas. I found out when about to pay my bill.

I had the beef chimichanga and it was ok, would've tasted a lot better had it been served hot. The beans were luke warm and the rice was cold. The service was pretty good. The sunset when I got there was amazing. Overall, I would rate the place as just ok, nothing to write home about.

  • Enri Portillo

Beware…Please don’t come here for Mexican food. Their food gave our family food poisoning. You can tell their food is frozen and reheated in a microwave. Appetizers were cold and it was definitely not authentic Mexican food. The menu sounds much better than what is actually served.

  • Thomas VandenOever

I was so scared the present economic situation would change one of the best Mexican restaurants in the mid cities. Nope. Nothing has changed. Same fresh ingredients. Great lunch prices. Prompt and friendly service. You need to at least try this place once. Then I bet you'll return.

Hands down, the best Mexican food experience I have ever had. Avocado soup is outstanding and the shrimp salad amazing. Elena was my server. She was so attentive and polite. I will definitely return if I am over this way again.

This place is awesome. Starting with the salsa, it is so fresh and delicious. The sampler appetizer had a nice variety and sauces to compliment all of it. The entrées were amazing and not skimpy. The charro beans are award winning in my book! We will definitely come back.

The food was good. Service a bit slow (wasn't a busy time), and I did say four times I wanted chicken...as you can see, I got beef. Maybe the beef is super special and he was doing me a solid. It was good enough to return, but I wouldn't go out of my way.
