Since my 2012 Toyota Sienna was having difficulty starting, I drove it to the Walmart Auto at 1604 and 281. I pulled up to the only one of the three bays that did not have an orange cone in front. Dennis, a black guy wearing a do rag on his head, seemed frustrated from the get-go. He claimed I was in the oil change line. However, I had seen no signage indicating that it was "oil change only." Anyway, my car wouldn't start. So then, for some reason, Dennis started charging my battery. I asked, "Can you not tell if the battery needs to be replaced without the engine being on?" He asked, "Well, what do you want to do if it does need to be replaced?" I replied, "I want you to replace it." He seemed anxious to charge the battery, so that I could turn on the engine, so that he could have me move to a different lane. I patiently asked my question again. "Do you need to have the engine running to test the battery's strength?" He finally said, "No." I said, "Well, just test it and if it needs to be replaced, just replace the battery, I'll pay for it, and be on my way." That certainly seemed like the quickest solution. He reluctantly agreed, discovered that the battery did need to be replaced, and asked me to go into the waiting area. I waited for at least 20 minutes. Still nothing had been done. When I saw Dennis pass through the little Walmart auto care lobby, I asked, "How much longer will it be?" He seemed annoyed that I asked, and said something like "10-15 minutes." After that time had passed, I walked out there and one of the techs said that Zeke was now the one who would replace the battery. When I went back inside, Casey, the manager, a tall, slender white guy with a goatee, was SUPER friendly and helpful. He said that they were checking to see if the battery was still under warranty. Zeke was at one of the computers looking it up. I explained that Dennis had already determined that we had bought the battery in 2019 and that it was no longer under warranty. I asked Casey, "How much longer will it be?" he said, "Just a few seconds." Apparently, Zeke had not yet gotten the replacement battery, and expressed exasperation with an annoyed tone of voice. Looking embarrassed for Zeke's semi-rudeness, Casey said, "Okay. I didn't know he had not yet gotten the new battery and replaced it. So, it should be another 10 minutes." I said, "Okay." After I watched Zeke replace the battery in bay 2, he walked into the waiting room. I said, "Thank you!" as he handed me the keys. Oddly enough, he totally ignored me and didn't give me eye contact. After saying "Thank you" another 2-3 times, he begrudgingly said, "Ok man." The proper and easy response would have been, "You're welcome sir! We'll see you next time. Thanks for giving Walmart your business." Casey would be well advised to give Dennis, Zeke, and the whole crew a refresher course in 4-star customer service. It takes such little effort to be courteous and helpful. Why not do it? Casey is a GREAT example of how to interact with customers. We are not an annoyance. Our business pays your salaries.

Went to get an oil change on my Honda Civic, it requires full synthetic as indicated on the oil cap. Bought their "best" package at $49.99 (about) and then it was still discounted to $46.88 which was an awesome price considering I usually pay anywhere from $60-$70. However, I was quoted at least 2.5 hour wait, which again, not bothered as I had another ride and we had other things to do. We came back to pick up the car and I found it unlocked, no telling how long it was sitting there that way. According to their "checklist" on the print out receipt they should have vacuumed the inside, this was not performed as there was still some visible debris like grass and such. Otherwise I keep my car rather clean so it wasn't like it was all that much work out of the technician that worked on my car. Then, I looked at my odometer and saw it wasnt the way I left it and am used to. It was left on "Trip A" so I took it back to the odometer setting that showed total miles driven. Went to check if the oil life was reset as the gentleman that greeted me said would be done, he was very pleasant and I enjoyed his upbeat attitude, but this was also not done it still said 90% (I had previously accidentally reset it a few weeks back) so I reset it myself. Then I looked up in the left hand corner to see the sticker and saw that they couldnt be bothered to remove the previous sticker from the previous oil change and just put the new sticker next to it, rather lazy if you ask me. It makes you wonder what else wasn't done up to par on that checklist they claim to check off. I probably won't be so inclined to leave my car and surely will double check before I leave to ensure all those things are done properly. I guess you get what you pay for.

So I come to this place a lot to change my oil because it’s affordable and I liked their service prior to today. When I first got here I waited in line and I get to the counter answer their questions and then they tell me it’ll be a 2 hour wait to patch my tire. Well alright that sucks, but I’m here whatever. Two hours pass and I call them and katie says “oh it’s gunna be two hours.” ??? I responded “I’m sorry I was told it’ll be two hours TWO HOURS ago so can I get a right time frame or not?” Katie puts me on hold and gets on the phone and says “the guys told me it’ll be an hour.” Alright three hours so my boyfriend and I walk back to see why they’re taking so long. We’re just playing a game on my phone in the meantime to pass time...guess what...an hour passes and no one has looked at my car. At this point they’re about to close and I’m wondering if I’m going home in my car or need some other type of transportation. So I bother Katie again and ask “so how much longer because nobody has looked at my car” she responds without smiling or apologizing “the guys told me 20 mins” so I go outside and watch them because I don’t trust them now and John an employee is wheeling tires inside the shop on a dolly and says in front of me and my boyfriend “I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m doing it”.......at least he’s honest in front of customers about what’s he’s doing. So this is my honest review. Yes it’s cheap, but these people don’t show any kind of customer service and they obviously don’t have a filter in front of customers.

The WORST place to get your oil changed...PERIOD! When we got there we waited about 10 minutes for somebody to help us and come out to the drive up area. He told us that he thinks we can just leave the keys in the vehicle. When we went to the register to check in, there were two individuals in front of us in line and nobody at the register. Everybody waited for someone to come out for about another 20 minutes and when he finally did he was completely disinterested and slower than molasses. The dude didn't even know how to use his register but his name tag said that he had been there 20 years. We waited about an hour even though there was only one car there when we pulled in. When we finally got into the vehicle I noticed that there was oil literally smeared all over the steering wheel door handle shifter and center console. I went to look for somebody to talk to and ask them if they could clean it up but could not find a single person to talk to. The entire garage was void of any employees as well as the register area. We ended up just leaving and later cleaned up the mess ourselves.

I bought a warranty to service my tires for a lifetime a year ago. I’ve driven about 20,000 miles and have a leak somewhere. Walmart said they could not work on my car even though they’re the ones that installed and gave me the warranty This was the laziest workshop of people I’ve ever encountered in 30 years of driving and having service on vehicles. They look for every excuse possible to not do the work and clear ticket. On a day where I find a few days off, not taking PTO these lazy people know every excuse not to do their job. I know this is not a reflection of all Walmarts but specifically this Walmart. They couldn’t check my tire by using a chat but they said they don’t have time. I hope you consider this when doing business with Walmart automotive and tire. Expect them to look for every few by being clear warranty did not do the work that they’ve been given if there was a way to get negative stars, I put it in here.

Don't show up after 5pm on a weekday because you will not get service of any kind. We had flat tire with road hazard from Walmart. Added Fix-a-flat in tire just to get here. After stopping at Discount Tire to TRY to get air they said it was unsafe. I did not want to chance as large piece of metal or something had left big gash in middle of tread. I asked women a counter what do we do now as you won't service us and we live in Castroville about 50 miles away. She said she could call the Nacogdoches store to see if they could help. I asked how are we supposed to get there. Figured they would at least look at it or take it in. Nope. We left veh in parking lot and had to get back here today. Now we are back and waiting, about 20mins so far, for someone to touch veh. wife made comment, "Guess the three guys standing around joking are to busy."

Terrible service. Came in at 9:30 for an oil change, air filter change, wiper change and flat tire repair/change. After 1 hour and seeing 4 people jump ahead in me on the oil servive, I had to contact a manager to remedy the situation. After one more hour of waiting, I noticed I was jumped again on the tire side. Sigh. I spent over 3 hours and saw at least 5 clients jump ahead of me. After I left, I heard a noise on the back. Turns out that they didnt even replaced the donut spare back under the car (have an SUV and there is a mechanism to lower the spare from under the car). I had to return to the store and get that remedy. Never again, even with tire warranty, I will take all flat tires and oil jobs elsewhere.

  • Amber Menchaca

Not coming here anymore. I've had a few minor issues before but always came back for the cheaper prices. Got my oil changed today (they also check fluids and air tires at the same time). On my way home my tire pressure sensor went off. Thought it was a nail. I checked the tire pressure when I got home and found that they had over inflated my tires on the left side by 15lbs. On the checkout form they gave me it showed them all at 33lbs. Now I don't trust any of that check list. Did they really change the filter? Did they even use the right oil? I'm going to one of the places where you sit in the car while they do it. I'd rather pay $30 more to make sure the job gets done right.

  • Joseph Kotowski Jr

Went in right when they opened up Sunday morning. I had 2 tiny nails in my tire. They said that it couldn’t be patched up, than tried selling me on 2 new tires instead. I thought I had no choice so went in to see tire options to than get told they don’t have the tire I needed in stock. So I left, went to firestone down the road. They said it was an easy patch job and didn’t need to buy any tires. Don’t trust those idiots at Walmart. Go somewhere else. Firestone was great.

I got my oil, wipers changed and my battery tested, i was going on vacation. Harold worked upper bay on my car said my battery was good. I tried to start it the next day its dead had to bring it there again. While on my vacation the wiper flew off on the highway as I was traveling out of state in a storm. Waiting to hear back from the store. I'm sure Manager Ki will give some excuse as to why it's not their fault and they've done everything right.

  • Jeff Gee

Thanks for taking 4 hour Adriana and taking no responsibility then when I needed to get my extra baby bottle in the car you did not want me to get it the whole conversation from her mouth was we can give you you car back. No! I'm here for you to work on my car you put all the blame on me you should not be working at Walmart you are rude and you do not care about you job. I cannot believe how you conversate and act with you customers.

  • Jennifer Yarrow

Sunday night, and I had to get to work Monday morning. While gassing up the car, it didn’t want to start. I called ahead and Walmart said they could change a battery. They didn’t have the battery I needed, but sent me up the street to buy one. They stayed open, kindly, quickly, and professionally installed the new one. Hey, manager, give those guys working late on a Sunday a big thank you for helping me out. I’m so very grateful!

  • Andy Cox

When I've been it hasn't been a long wait. They don't come out to your car like other Walmarts. Go inside and tell them what you need. Quaker state change is still $20 and they have Lucas Oil Stabilizer much cheaper than auto parts stores. Like 9 bucks instead of 12. I burn through a quart of the Quaker state in about 900 miles, then top off with the lucas and it lasts a little longer than plain oil and offers better protection.

Poor service at Automotive center on 1604 & 281. I was waiting for an oil change for about 15 to 20 min. Then I was informed that they were out of the oil filter. They contacted another Walmart and told me they have it, I would just need to wait. I arrived at the perscribed location only to find out that they don't have the tool for my brand of vehicle. What a waste of time! Poor service at my Walmart 1604 & 281. Sad.

  • Chatha H

Ezequiel R is a frustrated and lazy worker, I was watching through the window as he neglected balancing my tires. Even though I took a video of this occurring, he still lied to my face and then slammed my keys like an idiot onto the table like a child. Bad management is to blame if workers having this kind of behavior. I will not go back to this Walmart again for any tire service anymore.

  • Aunty Pualena IsZ

Bad service. Had a new battery from them. After 2 weeks from installation, asked that they replace battery because sounds like a bad batch. They refused and I was stranded in hot Texas heat. Yes, I am a woman also!!! The management didn't care the slight about my dilemma. Sad. Gotta find another place to deal with. My safety and welfare is at stake and got no compassion or help!

  • Geo L

DO not get oil change here! If you did go here check your oil to make sure it is not too low or over filled! It will damage your engine. Incomptence and lack of attention to detail happens here pleas go somewhere else! I will not trust walmart again for auto services. They will tell u its all normal and they cant do anything about it. They dont care if they damage your vehicle !

  • Jon

Came here to get a leaking tire patched. I was told it would take an hour. 3 hours later, they finished and I headed straight home. The next morning, on my way to work, the tire burst and I had to change it on the side of the freeway. I went back to Walmart to get a new tire put on and they wouldn't even give me a discount. I will never be going to another Walmart Auto Center.

  • Vale Torres

It's slow but you can't beat the price. If you want fast service, go elsewhere. An irate patron was rude to the cashier whom has very limited control over the speed of service. She remained calm but customer kept raising his voice and demanding things speed up for him. Cashier stated they were short of service mechanics. So if looking for work, you know where to apply.

  • Marcus Lamb

I went there for an oil change because they have great deals on synthetic, but the line was too long. I also needed tires, but they don't have my size in stock, and they wanted me to order online and have them shipped to the store. I found a place that had a better deal on better tires and had the same price for synthetic oil, so I guess I found a new place.

  • J Valdez

Came to get our Jeep’s tires balanced and rotated- Estimated time was 45min, took about an hour. They were very informative yet their cash register was working improperly, had to walk to another register to pay. When we arrived our steering wheel was vibrating yet when we left- smooth as butter! Would come again, but recommend a weekday for quicker service !

  • Bryan Medina

Walmart auto care centers was very kind to me and getting my new replacement battery installed in my vehicle I have a bit of a wait but the product was good and the price was right I've gone to Walmart to get several batteries for different vehicles and I will continue to go there I highly recommend them is make sure to invest in a good product from Walmart.

  • Tracie Kuenzi

When I arrived Dean greeted me right away. He looked at my battery and determined that it needed to be replaced. He has this all accomplished within 20 minutes of me arriving. The longest part of the transaction was waiting for the cashier because they did not come in until after 8:00am. Overall this was a great experience because of Dean!

  • angelo masannat

horrible service had one person ahead of me , all I was doing repair flate tire was told 5 min they don't get it done till 45 min later and also forgot about tires concern noise bought them there before at the end I was told go to michanic even if bought the tires at the store and I have warranty on them...I would not even give it 0 star.

  • Marivel Menchaca

I have been to this location multiple times and the staff is quick and efficient. I’ve never had an issue and if you go early enough you can in and out in under an hour! I appreciate the attention to detail they take to properly inspect my tires, finding a nail that another Walmart automotive overlooked. Thank you again!

  • Jonathan Perez

Trash service and communication. Waited about 2 hours before learning they cancelled the appointment without any explanation. I open the hood to find my oil cap left open and stuff spilled out. No one could even answer my questions or apologize. Completely unprofessional and discourteous. …

  • Ben Simons

Well let's see, I called at 7:07, actually drive 12 min tithe store while the line was still ringing. Yes actually drove for the store before some one pick up the line. Next I was the 3rd car in TLE tonsit and wait over an hour for a flat repair. Absolutely the Wal-Mart way!!! Keep it up

  • Michael Roque

2 hours for a flat tire repair. I had a small hole. After an hour of waiting I asked for a time estimate. They told me I was next and it took another hour. Cashier is older, rude, and doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing. I won’t be coming back. Don’t recommend.

  • Renzo Bertot

It's the cheapest oil change in the USA, period. So is there synthetic , just make sure to check it before driving away. Ive had A 2 B cars and have heard a lot of horror stories of techs not putting the oil on cause they forgot. For the money it's a gr8 deal.

  • Sylvia Diaz

I tried to get my tire fixed on Saturday at 4:30 they said they couldn’t do it until Sunday. I came back on Sunday around 10 AM and asked to have my tire repaired or if not able to fix then to replace tires. 5 hours later I had not heard

  • Vincent Moczygemba

Very unprofessional. The guy moved my seat cushions and moved all the stuff in my cup holders. They have no business touching what's inside my truck when working on my tire. They don't even acknowledge you or look at you.

  • James Smith

Very quick and helpful. I have gotten a tire installed form this shop before without any hassle or excessive waiting. The service men will even fill your tire up with air for free too... just don't forget to tip!

  • Eric G

A battery replacement that took literally 3 mins had me waiting for over 4.5 hours. This is a horrible place to have a battery changed and i would not recommend it. Ki, the manager, should be ashamed of himself.

  • Brent Kiley

Only ever got an oil change here. If you just need a quick oil change for a decent price, I think they do a pretty good job. Have never used their tire service. I would recommend them for oil changes though.

  • Worthey Brisco

Oil change. Two cars in front of me. Bad news: Nearly 1.5 hours later before I get my car back. Good news: Cost me $64 forbfull synthetic. That's $35 cheaper than any of the 5 chain oil chains I contacted.

  • Leti Faimoa

They are the best in my area. They just put air in my tires this morning on my way to work! They also do it for you for free! Thank you, for always being there for us single mothers …

  • Alisha Ochoa

I enjoy the prices, I despise the wait. Don't ever take your children! We were there for 2 1/2 hours for an oil change and tire rotation. When we pulled in there was only 2 cars in front of us. …

  • surajit saha

I always go here for my Car oil change. They are very courteous, often top up my windshield fluid without taking extra bucks. Generally takes 30-45 minutes but in the meantime I finish my grocery.

  • kellam023

Everything went well except for the employees lack of knowledge. Everyone that works the counter there needs to be able to tell you how much an oil change will be before they perform any services.

  • Karime Martinez

HORRIBLE service. I wish I didn't even have to give one star. I was literally waiting for 20 min and no one came up to assist so I had to go. They were very rude and unprepared. NEVER coming back.

  • Sean Kerwick

Always have great service and good prices here. Recently they started locking the customer access door to the store, so you have to wait to be let in to building from the garage.

  • Ace Schaefer

Car battery died. Drove in and was immediately greeted. bought the replacement and install was included in the price. Twenty minutes after walking in I was driving out.

  • Craig Tetreault

I called the other day to check on the price for rotating the tires on my car they said $10 to me, that's a great price super customer service thank you Walmart.

  • Elizabeth M

I went to the Auto Care center to have some keys made. They have keys that Home Depot and Lowe's do not have. They made them quickly and for a reasonable price.

  • Samuel Telles

Best place for battery replacement bar none, more cold cranking amps for your money. Quick friendly service, thanks Ki their service manager

  • Marie Payne

I thought they were great, but I recently found out that they never actually changed my oil during my last oil change. I'm never going back.

  • Alfred Castillo

Very impressed by the speed of service very professional very sharp looking would absolutely return to this location for oil changes !

  • Chuck Norton

I just needed a single tire because an older tire I had broke a belt. The service was fast and the employees were good spirited.
