The Waterfall Park, situated in the heart of Waterfall City adjacent to Mall of Africa was completed to coincide with the opening of the mall (building on Johannesburg’s positioning as one of the largest man-made urban forests in the world). Inspired by New York’s Bryant Park, key aspects of the park include: A wifi interactive choreographed musical fountain. The fountain is a zero level water feature consisting of 157 waterspouts/nozzles and 64 coloured lights. The gardens area is 3 125m² in size and 232 trees are planted here. The park is built on top of five basement storeys and has a sunken ablution. 5 185m² of grass was planted in the park. The park has custom landscape furniture made of concrete, poly-concrete steel and timber. Professional lighting design forms part of the landscaping and amenities. The park will has three amphitheatres, a staging area, exhibition, market space and recreational spaces. The length of the ring road for pedestrians, bicycles, trucks, cars, etc. is 490m (excluding walkways in the middle of the park and service road entrances). It is home to the Waterfall Market that happens every Sundays from 11:00am - 17:00pm that offers a range of street market style food, drinks and live band music with different food stalls, art pieces and other cool artefacts. Differet fun, fitness and lifestyle events take place at the parka as well. Its a great place to come and unwind with the family and kids when visitng the mall.
Waterfall Park is a small open shopping area with a lot of hi-class restaurants and it's always full of people. The view is really nice and I have tries shopping at Checkers and also ate at The Hussar Grill. The parking is free at the place and the facilities are nice and clean. The overall feeling is upmarket in this small shopping complex. They also have Raj Restaurant for Indian delights. Thanks
It is mentioned in the gate with R250 all rides can be ridden unlimited times however that was'nt true. The ferris wheel can only be ridden once. The carnival game cannot be participated in and have to be paid in addition to the R250. Rides are of inferior quality, fewer in numbers and is not on par with Gold reef city at all. Unfair business practice; Operator's behaviour was excellent.
Nice place to hang out with the family and kids.. they have some kids rides (carnival type) on the roof and a large grassy area.
Playground
Carnival rides for kids to use not sure if there is a fee
Restrooms
Large, Clean bathrooms under the stage address of the grassy roof. Light goes of rather quickly tho..
Picnic area
Large grassy area's with no roof/shade...
Great place to take young kids at, if you kid lives some thrill then I would suggest you get them on to the ship! Second time there and so far the consistency is good. Machinery availability is good, only thing that was unavailable was the jumping castle. Best advice is to buy the R250 ticket which gives you access to all the machines for a duration of 3 hours. Enjoy!
Went for Alfa in the park. Nice atmosphere and there was enough space to move around. Small kids play area for when the little ones get bored and there are restaurants close by the exhibition area. It may be difficult to know where to park so you don't walk far, but parking at the right spot gives you quick access to the venue.
I didn't really have much to do in this place but it was truly an amazing person and amazing view just to watch and also chill day with the family and also enjoy the place so it's one of the places you can visit and enjoy yourself for dinner or anything else but besides that visit the place guys and enjoy
With stunning warm and sunny weather this park is a definite must. Bars and restaurants with a chilled vibe and entertainment for the kids. They even have picnic benches under the trees if you just feel like relaxing with some take aways or a drink after a stressful shopping spree.
It was a great time spent here. It is well taken care of, the grass is literally green on the other side ☺ . This place has professional, children fun and relaxed all in the same place. Not many places achieve this. Absolutely wonderful
Hi. It's not Waterfall Park that I didn't like but rather the International flower show. Tickets expensive and show was so disappointing. Some flower displays and not too much more. Will give it a miss if they do it again next year
Please come visit the Play Park. Open weekends 10:00 till late. New lights installed for night entertainment, new rides comming soon
Restrooms
Always clean
Picnic area
Bring your basket to the FunFare
Nice place for children to play and have fun, you are able to watch them from the restaurants but if they go deep you are able to take a walk down it’s beautiful and peaceful
Playground
Very child friendly
I must say i love the fact that it’s open/spacious, they also have variety of food stations and believe it or not there’s no queues Lovely Sunday outing with friends & family charging R10 entrance fee! …
Definitely worth it ,and will go back with the rest of the kids .the funfair is great value with decent rides for small kids and big teenagers ...take the R250 all day as many rides as you want arm band ...
Tables are limited, especially if one arrives after 12. They should try and get some sort of seating arrangements added so people have the choice of arriving whenever and ve guaranteed of a place to sit
Being open, and most of the shops being open is great. Is huge and you walk far . The toilets and passage ways are all clean. A fairly successfull shopping centre, for those who still do malls.
Parking is so awkward and not well marked outside. Inside, even worse, as one doesn't have sny idea which way to go. Spend ages driving around and around. At park, no restrooms closeby
Thought was good, implementation was not. It’s not well maintained, for the caliber of Mall it sits next too and it’s surrounding area as well as cost of rides, more is expected…
The Sunday market presents a great place for food and chillers. Love the set up and variety of food and drinks. Think I will visit every Sunday for the food. Love it.
Couldn't asked for a better place to chill, though they forbid the drinking of the alcohol it's for the best reason I guess... but ke... I had my best time there
You can sit outside and read a book, it's very peaceful.
Playground
Safe and open enough for chi6to run around.
Picnic area
Beautiful picnic spot
A hidden gem for the family which is unique to Mall of Africa Check for the latest events, but a great place on a sunny day to have an impromptu picnic.
Really nice alternative to being inside mall. Wide range of foods stalls offering wide variety of cuisines. Very relaxed vibe sometimes with love music
Dino & Adventure park was absolutely a waste of money. The "activities" and Dino displays do not warrant the exorbitant entrance fee. Complete rip off!
Nice place to hangout on weekends. Foot stalls available. Picnic area. Kids play areas. Located inside Mall of Africa. It's a world class facility.
The place was packed but I must applaud the security guys , the way they handled the crowd, and the crowd was well mannered l guess …
It is an amazing park for both children and adult. It is a safe environment where families can enjoy spend time together and create memories.
The place is great. Machines still look good and well maintained The big wheel is R60pp, and feel the force is R40pp Rides start from R20.
Beautiful space but I would say a no go on hot days. It was boiling up there. With the whole ask situation, I couldn't handle the heat
From events hosting to book stores, to kids entertainment. The Hamleys train for kids is such a great treat for the holidays.
It is nice and quiet. We came for the Waterfall market. Not a lot of vendors but it is clean and well run and quite relaxing.
Wonderful place to hangout with friends and family. The food is just amazing. Definitely not for those on a "diet plan".
Best mall parks out there, it has an incredible view, well maintained and so peaceful. But the views is amazing
Very calming place ,the atmosphere is so different,it brings calmness to the mind and insyncs and the spirit
Get there early if you want somewhere to sit during the market. Prices are reasonable for food and drinks
Great outdoor park. We attended Mandala Day meal packing… was well maintained and managed …
The Waterfall Market is really great! People will start rolling in in numbers once word gets out!
The view for the twisted PWC building and for the mall of Africa always makes it luxurious..
Lovely place to chill at with family. They had a dinosaur show that my boys really enjoyed.
Amazing time at the Pick n Pay wine festival...so many wines to tast from... LOVED IT!!!
Love this place ...... relaxing , good vibe and spoiled for choice when it comes to food
Good vibes. Hang with friends or the family. Some live music and food stalls all round.
Beautiful area with lots of space, very little shade so it's a no go on very hot days.
Too busy, if you're there in the afternoon, you might struggle to find a place to sit.
Quick shopping for kids and dine in! Enjoyed the atmosphere!
