I am so happy I found Watertight Roofing, and I would (and will) recommend them to anyone and everyone! I was actually working with another roofing company, and their big name and well-known company made me think that I would get solid service and solid work…unfortunately, that was not the case and I was left with a leaking roof for months on end, until I finally decided to start the search process all over again. I wish I had skipped all of the time and frustration and had found Watertight from the beginning. Richard even helped me work with insurance to get them to cover more than I thought they would! The communication was great, and EVERY time he said he would be there or do something, he was there or he did it. That was so important to me, and really gave me confidence and peace of mind. It sounds basic, but from my exhausting experiences with other roofing companies, I can tell you that it’s actually rare. Another thing that I appreciated was that the job got done FAST. I wasn’t waiting around wondering if they had five other projects to finish, because they told me they’d start the following week, and they did. Mine took two days because I have an older house that needed new decking, and I was amazed at how quickly their team got work done. The other important part is that Richard and crew were so meticulous, and really paid attention to the details. You can tell that these people have the empathy to make sure that your work is done just as well as they would do with their own homes. No to sound corny, but I honestly do feel like I have a friend in the roofing business. Update: it’s been a few months now, and we’ve had snow and ice, wind and thunderstorms! I’m happy to say that there hasn’t been a single leak or loose shingle—it really is watertight!

I can't recommend House Mechanics highly enough. It's rare that the lowest quote turns out to provide the highest quality, but that was exactly our experience with House Mechanics. Several other contractors came out to look at our loose gutters and every one recommended a complete replacement, to the tune of several thousand dollars. Richard immediately convinced us that he could permanently fix our problem without replacing anything. After having three other roof and gutter "specialists" attempt to re-secure our gutters, I watched as Richard secured them to the roof and then (literally!) hung from the third floor gutters to prove they'd hold. Perhaps a bit unconventional, but he's equally honest, enthusiastic, and hardworking. And--again--it doesn't hurt that his quote was by far the lowest. We will definitely use House Mechanics again in the future.

Watertight Roofing transformed my home. They did such a wonderful job being on time. Their workers answered any questions I had. Richard the owner gave us a great price for the work on our home. Richard the owner was very promoted in answering calls and questions. Him and his crew went above and beyond with the work on my home. Before his crew finished he walked the property to make sure the work was done right. He saw something that a crew member needed to touch up and made sure the work was done correctly. Next, he had me walk the property. From there he had me point out anything that wasn't up to my standards. Out of all the work they did I only found 2 things. House Mechanics did a great job of repairing our gutters. Richard did a thorough inspection of the whole gutter system. He and his staff not only repaired our gutters but also repaired several damaged sections of the roof (the work of roof repair was free of charge, we did not even know there was damage on the roof). He joked with us after he finished the work that he was there to fix things. We are very pleased with their work and services. We will highly recommend them. I learned that Richard is the third generation owner of the company. In today’s world that all businesses pursue profit maximization. It is not easy to find companies based on integrity and helping people work ethic. If you have a need for roof, gutter or siding work House Mechanics will be a good company to call.

Richard did an excellent job repairing my gutters. Of all the quotes I got for the job, he was the only one who actually got on a ladder and looked at the gutters around my entire home to make an assessment and quote. He showed me photos and videos of the issue and gave a clear plan for repair. On repair day he arrived and got to work, completing the work in a timely fashion. During the next rain shower, I saw a clear improvement. The area nearest to the foundation, beneath the gutter line was almost completely dry while the rest of the driveway was wet with rain water. My redirected downspouts were properly keeping water away from the foundation as well. Watertight Roofing did a thorough assessment, offered a reasonable quote, and did quality work.

He called before he came to provide an inspection of the damage and an estimate of cost. Richard provided a video of the damage and an explanation of what could have caused the problem. He provided a description of the materials and techniques of how House Mechanics would correct the problem. He gave a time frame for the repairs and how long it would take. House Mechanics crew show up on time and met the completion time promised, and the area was left clean and neat. The cost was in accordance with the estimate given. I’ve been using House Mechanics for a few years now and they always do an exceptional job. Not only are they quick to respond but they are honest. In this world where everybody tries to squeeze every penny out of you, Richard and the guys at House Mechanics will do exceptional work for reasonable prices. I strongly recommend them!!! I wrote this review and when I walked outside I realized that while they were fixing my roof they knocked down the multiple hornets nest I had on my second story. I never said anything, they did that just because. Another reason why they are a great company.

Communication was good and they showed up on time for both the estimated and actual work. I had a leaky gutter that needed to be fixed before I had a new patio put in. I thought the pitch was off or a downspout was going to be needed off the side of my house. Watertight Roofing said pitch was good and all that was needed was an addition to go directly into the gutter, see picture. I now have a perfect working gutter with no leaks, even during torrential downpours. Thanks again to Watertight Roofing for fixing the problem.

Our roof had several issues, leaking around the vent boots, bad wood and a bad seal along three gables, and a large leak coming into the kitchen ceiling. Richard did all of the work plus some extra at a very reasonable price. Excellent workmanship, professionalism, and very easy to deal with. He also started the job within two days and started and finished exactly when he said he would. I plan on using A House Mechanics inc. on any job that is beyond my skill level. Best repair and cost I have had in years!

I called 20 roofing contractors. Only 2 responded at all. The work was soffit repair and the damage was caused by raccoons. Richard responded right away and we arranged for him to come in a few days took at the job. The city had recently had a hail storm. Contractors were busy, but Richard worked me in. I ended up trapping 14 raccoons. A crew of three came and repaired everything in two visits. The work was well done and I was very satisfied. I will have Richard replace my roof next Spring.

After a lot of weather damage we contacted House Mechanics to inspect our roof. They recommended we call our insurance. Insurance wrote up the estimate and scope and House Mechanics was able to install a new roof and worked with us to upgrade to a better shingle material while staying within the insurance scope. All the work and workers were professional and extremely timely. Our new roof, gutters and downspouts are fabulous and we are extremely pleased that we chose House Mechanics.

Outstanding company. We had some minor wind damage to our roof and I called around to a bunch of companies in the area for estimates. House Mechanics offered an excellent estimate and scheduled the work for the following Tuesday. As I sent pics of the damage to the owner, he responded and said that it needed fixed immediately due to upcoming rain, and came out a couple hours later. Job finished, extremely reasonable and agreed upon price, and professional service.

This company has done excellent work for me. I thoroughly trust the owner, Richard, to always be here as quickly as he can to do immediate repairs, and admire his knowledge of roofing systems that have extended the life of my roof and prevented future repairs. Richard worked with me and our insurance company to get exactly what we needed - a new roof! Ours was damaged by hail, as well as our siding, guttering and some windows. The insurance company didn’t initially want to pay for anything except the roof, but Richard was diligent and thorough, and got them to understand the damage. Really loved having him come and do our gutters. He was on time, efficient and he came back a couple days later to fix some loose boards under the gutters without having us to ask. He was super professional and did a great job. I would 100% recommend there services. Also, it’s a lifetime warranty on anything he fixes, yet you probably won’t need it because he does a great job the first time around.

Very reasonable price and great to work with. On a side note, I contacted another business the same day I contacted House Mechanics and am still waiting for a quote. Roof & Gutter Repair - The House Mechanics team was responsive to an initial request for inspection & estimate on the roof & gutter repair. Practical advice & recommendations on what required repair and what did not. They returned to perform the repair earlier than estimated. :) Cost was lower than original estimate. I will likely use them again in the near future!

He even went so far as to take videos of the areas of concern so I could see for myself where the problems were and how I wanted to proceed. On 6/25/18 House Mechanics (I believe it was Mr. Hathaway and one other) were at our house, as promised, installing gutters on our garage. They finished in a day, were very professional, and cleaned up their mess when done. Not only do the gutters look great but they also work great (it rained the next day). Dealing with the insurance company requires experience, patience and persistence. Richard has all three. I had coverage that included replacing the storm damaged roof up to current code. That turned out to be quite expensive. We worked on it together and kept in good communication easily. Very pleased with result and recommend highly.
