Extremely rude staff. I walked to the counter to ask for some assistance, the lady behind the counter was talking to another lady and her fabric face mask was hanging off her ear. Once she saw me, she quickly put on her mask and then questioned me about whether I have a mask. I responded “no” and she rudely and abruptly told me I needed a mask. I politely told her to “have a nice day” and left without purchasing. 1. There are people who have mask exemptions, so to rudely tell someone they need a mask and assume that they can wear one shows a complete lack of empathy and understanding. You are not supposed to ask people to wear a mask since they can have exemptions. 2. The lady herself was not wearing her mask and only put it on when she saw me. Hypocrisy at its finest. 3. The lady was wearing a black fabric mask, which is NOT stopping any airborne Covid particles regardless. Your cloth mask is doing absolutely nothing to protect yourself and customers. You need an N95 at the minimum if you want to sit on your high horse and virtue signal. Absolutely bizarre that someone working in a pharmacy would not understand basic science. I think this lady needs to find another job where empathy, compassion, understanding, kindness and care isn’t favorable. Since she made me feel like an infected wild animal the way I was treated.

I came in last Friday for a very private reason and the clerk who served me was rather abrupt and unprofessional with me. Instead of taking me to a private counselling window or table, she proceeded to ask me very personal questions with several customers and staff members within earshot. The whole experience made me very uncomfortable and I ended up paying more than double the price of what I had later found the item to cost at other pharmacies in the area. The pharmacist was friendlier with me but didn't speak to me at a private counter, I had to stand in the middle of the store to receive my counselling which is highly unprofessional. I wouldn't come back to this store after the experience I had. I have found other Discount Drug Stores to be a much better experience and I feel as though this West End store has some serious improvements to make with their customer service skills. Please take into consideration that your customers want to be treated nicely when buying something that may make them uncomfortable or nervous. Hopefully DDS West End can learn from this and improve in the future.

Today I go to discountdrugstore in Westend to buy fish oil with my friends.But the terrible things happened.An old lady very rude to shout at me,you can not buy more. Best Pharmacy in West End and Cheapest for those on Daily Pick Up Medication The Head Pharmacist here, Ashell Chand is a very knowledgeable man in all areas of the apothecary business, so whether you're just putting in a routine Prescription, or you need some more Specialized Advice....Ash and his Team (who all have seemed to have been imbued with His knowledge and His warm personality) will no doubt be able to look after you in 5 star fashion. SIDENOTE for Ppl on O.R.T: This Chemist is ONE of the cheapest dosing options on the Southern Side of the River, along with a discount if you can convince YOUR mate who doses not to go out woop-woop, go to West End Discount Drug Store (the 196-199 service runs the guts of Adelaide street, and betwixt the two services there is one along every 5 minutes. Conveniently located however the staff did not make me feel welcome at all. I was waiting to be assisted for a prescription at the back counter. I now understand I was waiting at the wrong counter, but I was noticed by staff and blatantly ignored for 10 minutes before being told (impolitely) to queue at the other service desk. I would not return after this initial experience. I think a simple sign at the back counter would help customers from not lining up in the wrong area in the future - just an idea. Also, when I attended at 5:00PM (3 h before closing time) staff were vacuuming the store and around me which was also not a very welcoming experience. Not a huge problem by any means, unlike poor customer service, but something I would try to personally avoid.

I have been a customer of this pharmacy now for 5 years and they are consistently the warmest, most helpful and friendliest staff anyone could hope for. I first used this pharmacy as it was my local (closest pharmacy) to where I used to live. I have since moved away, to the other end of my post-code but still come back to shop here and I have my scripts filled here. This is entirely due to the staff. The Pharmacists are outstanding and helpful. Ash is a JP and recently helped me with some documents I needed witnessed. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. For as long as I live in Brisbane I will continue to remain a customer of this amazing Pharmacy. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Dealt with dozens of pharmacists in my 50 years and never encountered anything approaching the utter incompetence, ignorance, lack of patient care and abominable customer service encountered here, in particular from pharmacist Rhiannon. The level of unprofessionalism of this business is astonishing. Responses to negative reviews are pathetic, feeble attempts to rebut genuine accounts of the abysmal 'service' on offer here. Perhaps direct your energy into fixing the problem instead? Suggest avoiding this business at all cost.

I recently visited West End Discount Drug Store to purchase a bottle of Vitamin A emulsion using my doctor's prescription. Unfortunately, upon arriving home, I discovered that the bottle had a shelf life of only three months remaining, despite being a large bottle that could easily last for at least a year. When I returned to the store to request a replacement with a longer shelf life, they refused to accommodate me. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and would not recommend this store to anyone.

Amazing how a place can be so over-priced yet so trashy at the same time. Rude staff, pharmacists are not wearing masks, generally unsightly store layout yet all my prescription medicines are somehow 15-25% more expensive at this "discount" pharmacy. Always check other places and their prices before you buy here, especially if your meds are not covered by PBS. Getting a month worth of meds usually costs me around $200 (at other pharmacies in West End or CBD) but here it would be well over $300.

l have been a customer with Westend Discount Drug Store for many years now and have always found the store staff to be pleasant and always helpful. They go out of there way to assist you and have your medication sorted promptly and organised. They have time for a quick chat and ready to help you with anything you need. lve even moved from the area but still come here to get my medication and pharmacy needs. thank you for your support Westend discount drug store!!

My total and absolute gratitude to Sal and the team at West End Discount Drug Store! As an Australian ex-pat, returning from 25 years in South Africa, this is all new to me again... And the time and patience that Sal showed in walking me through the Australian way of rebates, etc, (not to mention the awesome pharmacists who sorted my meds immediately) cannot fully be expressed in a 'review'. So all I can say is "Thankyou" from the bottom of my heart. :)

This is probably the best chain pharmacy in Australia. They don't treat you like cattle (a la Chemist Warehouse) and they don't cram their floor space with so much useless product that you can barely get through a short visit without tripping over another human (also a la Chemist Warehouse). This particular outlet is small but handily located in the most central shopping area of West End, the staff are friendly and they are open most public holidays.

Staff at this chemist are transphobic. A friend of mine was intentionally misgendered by staff. Not acceptable anywhere, and certainly not in a community like West End. The owner claims to take issues such as this seriously, however scrolling through reviews and feedback, this is something that has happened before in the past. Clearly they don't take it seriously enought to make sure it doesnt happen again. Avoid this chemist.

Was feeling unwell because of medication for a private issue and asked the pharmacist for advice or if there was anything I could take to help ease the side effects. Pharmacists told me its not her problem. Kept telling me its not her problem and refused to advise me of any bulk billing doctors close by. This was done in front of other staff and customers in the store, I was highly embarrassed and left crying.

The staff in this pharmacy are so polite and helpful. They'll go out of their way to find the product you're looking for. Really good pharmacy. The Pharmacists: Ash, John, and Melissa really know their stuff and are very accommodating. The front of house staff, led by the Pharmacy Manager, The wonderful Debbie, and her team make this Pharmacy a first stop for all your medicinal needs.

The pharmacist gave me exceptional service.My husband required a specialised medication which she didnt have on hand.She rang 4 other pharmacies to try to procur it,and I rang 9 including a hospital pharmacy to no avail.The drug was ordered by the pharmacist and arrived in time the next day,so no repurcussions where felt by my husband.THANKYOU West End phamacy job well done.

The West End Discount Drug Store has service my health needs for about 3.5 years. They have always been polite, helpful and genuinely care about the service they provide. One of the very best pharmaceutical store in Australia. Highly recommended. Ash Chand, owner is highly knowledgeable qualified pharmacist. The prices are lot cheaper than market and other stores. Ash and his staff are really very good human beings, down to earth and help people out of way. Bigger orders are delivered home also. Keep up good work.

All of the pharmacists who dispense here go above-and-beyond. It's also lovely to be greeted by name by the very helpful and friendly customer service staff. One of the reasons we decided not to move house was honestly because we didn't want to move away from this pharmacy, they are that good to us!

The old clerk is rude and RACIST, its very sad that there are still some people like her in 2017. I will never go back as long as she is working there. If you dont like people like that you already know where you shouldnt buy. You should control what kind of employees you hire.

I have been coming here regularly for the past 1-2 years and the service always stands out! The staff are very friendly, Sal in particular is excellent and always willing to help find items. Medications are also dispensed quickly. Overall, really recommend this pharmacy!

The service from this Chemist is continuously disappointing. I try to avoid the place at all costs. The owner is rude, arrogant and lacks empathy. His staff also behave in this manner. Please avoid this place. Service from any other chemist in Brisbane is better.

This was my regular pharmacy but they have gone all-out on a campaign against proposed changes to dispensing laws that would lower costs for their customers, and put up anti-ALP propaganda posters around the store. I won't be supporting them any more

A great pharmacy, staff are always helpful and go out of their way to assist. I do everything from vaccinations to scripts here. Deb and Ash always have great advice and make time to help me with anything I need. I won't go anywhere else.
